Amazing artist
An Jung Hwan (1978-) is known for his realistic tree paintings on canvas. If you have ever thought of painting tree leaves or branches, his paintings will amaze you! To paint a tree in oil, you need clear understanding about the tree structure and anatomy. You need sharp observation about the different layers, how branches are placed and the texture. To make a painting realistic, the artist require a good balance between texture and light. Layer by layer painting technique need to be carefully exercised.
Artist Bio
An Jung Hwan was born in 1978 in Korea. He studied painting and took BFA from the Keimyung University. He has also held a several solo exhibitions in Korea.

Amazing………talented Korean artist painter An Jung-hwan creates realistic paintings that look like portals into vivid landscapes. His painstakingly meticulous technique simply amazing as perfect as a photograph . Each nature scene is so enticing in its clarity, he spends numerous weeks and countless hours working on a single painting. His stunning landscape paintings have been exhibited throughout Korea and Asia. He did held several solo exhibitions in Korea. Looking at those paintings in this post tells all…..so realistic. It could not see the difference whether its real or just paintings. Loves all his paintings.

An Jung Hwan is truly amazing artist, very talented with his supersonic skill. Looking at his paintings, its looks so much real, extremely realistic to the extent that they trick the eye. His depiction of nature is so accurate and clear that it compels us to take a closer look.

I am sure that An Jung Hwan has his essential qualities and put a lot of efforts for this success. As a good painter, he must be very patient, passion, focus and meticulous especially for the painting projects that related to natural. Besides, a great painter should has a sense of humility i.e. understand that not everyone will have the same feelings or understand their artwork. Nevertheless, if he is really passionate and love about his works, he will definitely able to overcome the problems or challenges that he faced.
This artist is very talented. To be able to capture the various colors and shades, making the painting so realistic requires an eye for detail and solid technique. The human mind is truly incredible.
It can create so many things beyond our imagination. Meditation enables us to enhance the capability of our mind. Ultimately, it enables us to have the clarity to understand life and ultimately attain Enlightenment.

It needs lots of details, patient and focus to paint trees leaves, field landscape. A reproduction of the images from the mind, and into action.

This is really realistic drawing. If people don’t tell it is a drawing, I would have thought they are photos. I feel there is no “magic” to these drawing, but a lot of patience. There are many shades of green which makes the drawing very real.
It is truly amazing to look at paintings that look like photographs. The young Mr.An Jung Hwan brings painting to a whole new impressive level.The art pieces are very enchanting and certainly will inspire people to be close to the nature or pay more attention to the trees and plants. Just WOW! If nobody told me I would have believed they were nothing else buy camera shots with plenty of photoshop! It’s not easy to take photos to that degree of colour saturation without some tweaking. So they are even better than photography! I would love to have one of his works on my wall. Then again, my humble wall will do no justice to this masterpieces.
Wow, the paintings are so real. Not only this artist is very talented, he must be very observant and focus too. Some people are born with certain talent, this talent cannot be just there, it must be some very strong imprints from many many life times. To develop our good quality is to enforce it over and over again, then it will become a habit.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this article. Wow, An Jung Hwan’s paintings are really amazingly real! Nature is hard to draw. Besides that, trees and leaves are the hardest to draw. What’s more he can draw until they look so real. An Jung Hwan really has got a talent here. His drawings of trees are so real until we, who look at the painting really feel like we are in it, embraced by mother nature. Can see that he can paint the layer of colour, from far to near, covered by shadow or shined by sunlight, so clear that it looks like it’s real. I can imagine when he was painting these paintings, he has very deep imagination of mother nature, or maybe he himself loves mother nature very much. The passion in him is brought out by his works. Wow, An Jung Hwan is indeed a really amazing and talented artist. His paintings of trees and nature are absolutely beautiful and really realistic. The quality of his paintings are really high and colours and tones of the trees and greenery is very well blended and toned.

An Jung Hwan’s paintings are so real that at a glance, would thought that it is a photograph, so hard to differentiate. In order to produce such a high quality of paintings, one need the skills and the understanding of his subject of painting. Am amaze with his sharp observations which we can see the details in his paintings, the vibrant color of the nature, how the branches are placed, the reflections and shadow. All are perfectly done.

The patience required. the calm of mind, the perfect coordination of hand and eye movement, the observation skills all come together for the artist to produce such beautiful and realistic paintings.
So, we need all these qualities in us for our practice in spirituality and vice versa. So, it’s amazing indeed to be able to produce such paintings.

His ability to project and execute lush greenery onto canvas just proves that somewhere in our minds lies this ability to project with such clarity and detail. This can be developed by anyone through practice. Some will find it easier, some will take longer but everyone can do it with regular practice.

In order to paint well ,the artist needs sharp observation about the different layers, how branches are placed and the texture. Furthermore a good painting requires a good balance between texture and light. In the face of these challenges Jung Hwa was able to rise to the occasion. and paint paintstakingly layer after layer to produce a masterpiece of nature One is understandably amazed as this is art reflecting art!
