The artist that did this is ONE OF THE BEST I’ve ever seen. The detailing, colors, shading, proportions, pose, angle, shift of the body, and general appearance are excellent.. Shocking in a good way how nice this Guhyasamaja is. I am very particular about sacred artwork. I am very concerned the pose, color, implements all are in perfect order.
H.H. Kyabje Zong Rinpoche was very detailed about that and gave us teachings. He mentioned having sacred art painted correctly is essential so the lineage of these deities do not get lost. And important for visualization also. Every part of their holy bodies is a expression of a path to enlightenment. So you are looking at the complete path to enlightenment in visual form. A sacred road map. So it’s essential they are painted correctly according to the scriptures.
His Eminence Kensur Lobsang Tharchin (Howell, New Jersey) who was my first teacher was also very detailed in his descriptions and was particular the deities are painted correctly. They go into very exact details how this or that deity should look like. I loved those teachings and remember them from even thirty years ago clearly.
Zong Rinpoche described them in a way that makes you think he is looking directly at them and telling you what he sees. Amazing. I am sure he was looking at them. He is famous for his direct perception and attainments.
I love this particular thangka. I think I saw a Heruka and Kalacakra done by the same artist also.
I don’t know the name of the artist, but I recognize his style of work immediately. Thought I’d share this. Sacred arts are wonderful to have.
I will upload this to my blog. I have a section on my blog that has many sacred pictures for free download (high files)(free downloads: https://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/category/downloads) because many people find it hard to find these or too expensive with shipping. I want everyone to have sacred blessed art in their homes. We can download and frame and make offerings. Be blessed! Tsem Rinpoche

According to Buddhist tradition, sacred objects such as holy statues and painted holy-sacred art, are used by practioners to purify their negative past actions and develop their positive potential for future actions, so they can be of great benefit to the world. By providing inspiration, sacred objects make it easier for this to happen! By seeing them, they make it easy to stay focused on the goals of creating stocks of such positive potential – eventually they will also help us to achieve enlightenment to benefit all beings. Rinpoche said that he loves this particular thangka and wants everyone to have this ‘blessed art’ in their homes, so please down-load – frame-up and make offerings, and be blessed!

Dear Rinpoche,
The image of Lord Guhyasamaja is truly beautiful. You can even see Buddha Shakyamuni at the back. Truly such sacred artworks must be preserved so all who wish to practice them will have the correct visualisation. Even looking at them now is such a blessing.
Thank you Rinpoche.
It was very interesting to read about how important detail is and how Rinpoches teachers thought better by paying attention to the details and quality. And this is a beautiful thanka Rinpoche. And I will surely check out the downloads. Thank you for sharing.
