Before and After!

Dear JP,

It is amazing. You are a NATURAL interior/exterior designer. Your sense of depths, color, texture, ambience, art and it all matches a person’s personality whom you are designing for. Your focus is deep and consistent. So rare to find this type of designer who can combine all these ingredients in.

If you did this for a living, you would win accolades and awards.

Also the biggest key, is YOU CARE ENOUGH to do such a good job.

I am amazed by this latest design by you and totally admire your works in this.

I am glad I just followed your suggestions in everything in this latest masterpiece. I was resistant to some of the ideas and I am glad I let you have your ways with your ideas.

Thank you for caring and creating a interior award winning design in the middle of the *Bentong Jungle!!

Much appreciation and love,

Tsem Rinpoche

P.S. Your design of this room is so beautiful I love everything in it even the green **KELUAR SIGNAGE at the door!!! LOL

Sitting area

Beautiful Lord Tsongkhapa art on the walls. There are 15 which represents the biography of Tsongkapa’s sacred life, accomplishments and deeds. The art work was color adjusted by our talented in house artist Cynthia Lee. Colors all suggested by Jp and approved by him also. Jp did magnificent color adjustments for Manjushri behind my seat.

The view of the audience room. How aesthetically beautiful…

JP put in so much care and attention into the finer details. Care is the key for success combined with consistency.

View of the audience room entrance which leads into the Wisdom Hall.

A close up of Lama Tsongkhapa’s print.

The throne in the audience room. You would never know on the left panel is a door leading to a bathroom and kitchen.

I love the colour scheme!

*Bentong is where Kechara Forest Retreat is located. It’s a one hour pleasant drive from capital city of Kuala Lumpur.
**“Keluar: is Malaysian for “Exit”.

Background:

Kechara Forest Retreat is our premises in the greens and hills of Malaysia. We have a centre in the city and now in the rural area so people can be close to nature. Within Kechara Forest Retreat we have various facilities. The place for prayers and meditation is called Wisdom Hall. Within Wisdom Hall is the audience room where I meet people. The beautiful pictures you see above is the completed audience room for myself to meet international guests just completed by JP today.

JP is a close assistant, friend and sponsor of mine/Kechara. He is a warm, intelligent, straightforward person who has done so much to contribute towards the growth of Kechara for years. He is deeply loved and appreciated by myself as well as many. We are fortunate to have many people who contribute so much because of their dedication towards Dharma in our beautiful Kechara. Jp also is very good in designs for interiors/exteriors. He has no formal training, but the talent comes from within. He did the audience room completely over and produced what you see in the pictures above. I am amazed at his talents, dedication and aesthetics.

Thank you, JP!

If you notice in the pictures, the color schemes, designs, wallpaper, furniture are all chosen by him. He spent three weeks doing this as well as overseeing the contractors combined with his many other duties. Behind the panels he artistically hid the unsightly doors to exit/bathroom that had no choice but to be there. Also the framed pictures of Manjushri and Lord Tsongkapa which is a visual delight he suggested and approved the colors for it to be adjusted to match the room. You can see how beautiful these hangings are. Everything including the color of the lighting was redone by JP. Wow is not enough. I had to share this with everyone!

 JP

JP’s does so many portfolios besides construction, design and building within Kechara. He also manages the running of Tsem Ladrang my private household, fundraising, part of Board of Directors, human resources and PR. Yes, a Dharma student who is a gem of a friend also. If you are friends with JP, you have a kind and constant ally on your side.

A very beautiful room. Everything is planned so detailed and the room is very comfortable. Superb design. I like the wall that is actually a door leading to washroom and kitchen. It doesn’t seem like a panel at all. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing these pictures.

Wow, the transformation of the audience room is stunning. Congrats to JP Thong for doing a wonderful job, now the audience room is very warm and inviting. I am sure guests and visitors who have the good fortune to be invited into the audience room will be welcomed by the cosy and homey ambiance.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this article about JP. I didn’t know him in person previously until recently. He is indeed a kind & soft-spoken person.I am also amazed with the designed he did for the audience room. It is just so comfortable to look at. It is simple yet elegantly decorated. Thank you JP for the wonderful work.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful and more beautiful! The previous picture looked a bit clinical and uninviting ( the white walls and the fairly large sofas along the walls) but the after picture is lovely. The colors are warm, earthy and inviting. Nicely created central piece which is Rinpoche’s throne and the stunning manjushri. The cherry on the cake has to be the thangkas which are so diligently done, exquisite and very meaningful of course. Splendid job JP and Cynthia.

Dear Rinpoche, I didn’t know that JP have such wonderful talent in designing. The room used to be quite crowded but now thanks to JP’s awesome designing talent the audience room is so neat and beautiful. I love the whole KFR. It is because the entire KFR is full with greens, it’s refreshing and we also are able to play with the doggies in KFR. And to me, it is very relaxing place free from stress. I can’t wait to visit KFR again.

JP has and incredible keen eye for detail and a knack for spotting imperfections. This coupled with his strong devotion and faith towards Rinpoche makes a powerful combination which makes him strive to always give his 101%

I am very fortunate to call him my Dharma brother and his exemplary actions are indeed very humbling!

JP you have done it again another success under your belt. Creating a work of beauty and art is not just about throwing in wads of cash, it is also about the care, attention to detail and that spark of creativity that makes it just that unique/special. Well done JP for you offering to Rinpoche.

  13. Cliff on Sep 13, 2013 at 12:54 am

I never doubted JP’s artistic abilities, he has always been able to produce beautiful results that allows guest to feel welcome and at peace. The colour scheme and design of the whole layout of Rinpoche’s audience room was done really well! I wouldnt have been able to guessed that the left door panel was a door leading to a bathroom and kitchen! It was hidden so well! Thank you for sharing these photos Rinpoche, JP truly did a wonderful job.

    JP’s 的室內設計和材料選擇搭配都是盡善盡美。再加上特別的燈光效果更突出環境的清靜與庄嚴。很喜歡紫褐色的牆壁,讓我在看到Manjushri時,感覺特別好。太棒了。

  19. Karen Chong on Aug 29, 2013 at 8:38 pm

It is very obvious that JP shows his guru devotion on his works. It is not surprised this great design job comes from JP Thong, again, after Dukkar apts and Enchanted Forest. Under so many portfolios in Kechara, he managed to juggle every of his projects very well and produce excellent results. He is such an inspiring leader in this organisation whom we could learn from and he is always willing to teach you everything. JP Thong, keep it going and you are always our source of learning!

  20. Jessica Yap on Aug 29, 2013 at 1:51 am

Such a beautiful room! Good job JP!

When someone puts so much effort and time into completing a task/assignment, it only means that they’re sincere and care about the task at hand.
In this case, the beautiful audience room is a good proof that JP took on the mission well with care! With so many portfolios under his name, it only shows that he is very hands on and very detail orientated. Bravol, JP!
    Thank you for sharing, Rinpoche!

  21. Uncle Eddie on Aug 28, 2013 at 1:30 pm

In Dharma practice, it is said that those who have done virtues or non-virtuous actions have created corresponding pleasant or unpleasant results to come and these, are believed, will never be lost nor perished on their own. As in this case of JP Thong, the result is now seen by his astounding creation of furnishing the Audienceroom so beautifully which pleases our Guru so much and made him so very delighted and happy. It is said that karma is subtle, which we may not remember moment by moment like JP Thong case, but are now reaping good beneficial results. Making the Guru happy and pleased as what JP did should be the precious desire of all student practicioners! Many heartfelt congratulations and thank-yous’ to JP Thong for the good work well-done!!!!!

  24. Albert Ratchaga on Aug 25, 2013 at 10:05 am

This is really beautiful, beautiful is not how JP decorated it, but it’s JP’s care towards Rinpoche to decorate the whole room so that Rinpoche can have a better place to meet people or to have meeting with his students.

JP is a person with multitalent, he can do everything from the lowest till the top, from fixing a floor tile to managing a company. With his passionate heart towards Dharma, his practice is totally shown in his work, the result in the work that JP produced.

No surprise it comes from JP who has shown a natural talent for interior design work AND architecture also (with the EF and Dukkar App).
JP also understands how to play with lighting, and how to create a “dramatic” perspective.
The audience room looks really fabulous. Congratulations!
This is how JP shows his guru devotion.

JP has a very good taste. On top of that, he is very hardworking and cares a lot about Rinpoche and wants to get the best for Rinpoche. After working at KFR in the day time, he still came over to eDiv late in the evening to meet Cynthia & Debbie to check the photos of Lama Tsongkhapa, discussing and choosing the wall paper that will match the whole ambience & drawings.
Rejoice on the great piece of art JP! You are also the great example for me to follow especially on your Guru Devotions & the cares for others.

Uncle JP is very good at designing, I love the colour of the rug because it really matches the surrounding walls, especially the one behind Rinpoche’s seat.
It shows that Uncle JP has put in a lot of effort to get it done, it will benefit a lot of people who will be meeting Rinpoche in that room in the future. Great job Uncle JP!

Well done, JP! This external transformation is really a reflection of JP’s inner transformation… the meticulous care and deep love he has designed the audience room with is evidence of his care and love for his Guru and the Dharma. I rejoice for JP who continues to serve Rinpoche with complete devotion and humility which is truly inspiring. This audience room will be a place where many will come to seek blessings and teachings from Rinpoche and it will be a space where many will have their lives changed… what a beautiful space it is indeed.

I love what you did with the colors of the thangkas and how each thangka has the main deity highlighted. Great work! It’s such a far cry from the white lights and grey furniture. It’s simply fantastic. Wish I had your sense of style. Hehe!

  55. May Ong on Aug 21, 2013 at 2:38 pm

What can we say about the room. It is like 5-star hotel standard, award winning, chic, cool and comfortable especially the new sofa seats on both sides of the wall.

The design befits JP Thong’s impeccable taste and Rinpoche’s idea of how an Audience Room should look like. Beautiful! Great job as always, JP!

  56. Lim Han Nee on Aug 21, 2013 at 2:29 pm

It’s all about Tsongkhapa and about Manjushri! 15 lovely pictures depicting the life, accomplishment and deeds of Je Tsongkhapa and 1 lovely sacred image of Manjushri. All of these sacred pictures have been put together by JP Thong in such creative harmony, and the whole audience room of Rinpoche has been so creatively designed by him to blend well together in such soothing lovely colours.

All of this can only be the fruit of much love and devotion and an eye for artistic details. The whole room’s design and colour scheme speak for JP Thong, who translated his love and Guru Devotion into all this.

  57. sarahyap on Aug 21, 2013 at 1:53 pm

I’m not surprised. JP is one of the few people that understands Rinpoche very much and know the type of interior style, color scheme and designs that Rinpoche would like. He is always very attentive when it comes to things that Rinpoche likes, very caring. Just like the recent trip when Rinpoche went to HK with a few students, JP was there a few days earlier and prepared Rinpoche’s room very well.

  58. Sofi on Aug 21, 2013 at 12:52 pm

JP Thong has artistically aware of interior design. How excellent is the final masterpiece that he presented to Rinpoche and through this we can know how much effort did JP had been put in. It is modern and comfortable. The whole design kept the tradition’s needed, love it!

There are many talented people in Kechara who put their body mind and soul to serve the Guru and everyone in Samsara. The transformation of the rooms were really great that creates a warm atmosphere to the environment from the cold hard concrete environment. Rejoice, rejoice rejoice.

Thank you very much Rinpoche for sharing this so that we can be more mindful in everything we do not just getting it done but to the finest quality. Thank You JP

  65. Sheryl KH(JB) on Aug 21, 2013 at 9:44 am

To give an audience room a complete make-over with everything starting from design to getting materials and overseeing contractor’s works within a short time frame of 3 weeks is not easy. It is all about devotion.

I like how audience room looks now. It has elements of warmth, coziness, education (15 pictures of Tsongkhapa and 1 picture of Manjushri), arts and respect to the Guru into one place. I still do not know much on Dharma, but perhaps sitting on a cozy chair while having audience with high lama is not really that respectful? We should all have lower seats as compared to our Lama, and this element is clearly demonstrated physically. Our environment does have impacts onto our minds. Having said this, I like the presence of the carpet too.

It is nice that Rinpoche likes what has been made for Him. It is nice that LP has this opportunity to do something that pleases his Guru. Amazing that without formal education in interior design, JP can do a good job. I think it all boils down to love, devotion and persistency.

I like the dragon in the audience room entrance (leading to wisdom hall). Although not sure why dragon is on the floor – I was told placing Dharma items on the floor is bad for whatever reason (disrespectful I assume). I hope people are mindful and do not step on the Dragon!

  73. Joy on Aug 21, 2013 at 4:31 am

Well what can I say… Jp you did it again! I will remember your wise words… “this is not my style, but I choose the designs based on Rinpoche’s style and what Rinpoche likes”. Well this statement to be made me realise how devoted you are as a student of Rinpoche cos in that line you showed your devotion and your consideration of others. Yes it may not be your style but you learn the style Rinpoche likes and applies it. I guess that is why your concept and style for renovations, building and ID comes out 90% fabulous!

Yes I know, I know, but if your not creative and stylish, no matter what, you’re just not… but if you are…

Truth is it is not just about being “creative”, you got to know and be sensitive to what the person you are creating it for likes… this we learn in Advertising but it applies everywhere in life. This is where most creating people also fail because they keep thinking about “their” creativity. I remembered my ex-boss used to say… “God is in the eye of details” and one of the biggest detail is creating something your audience or receiver would appeal to.

Well this sure is no ordinary audience room for this is the room of His Eminence personal meetings with people who will seek advice, help, blessings that may change their lives forever. And when a place is conducive and comfortable, appealing to all 5 senses, then it creates the perfect environment for the Dharma teachings to go in. No excuses then hu? 😉

Bravo JP and also Cynthia Lee for a great job tweaking the Lama Tsongkhapa life stories. It turned out very nice! x

  74. Adrian Cho on Aug 21, 2013 at 4:14 am

Wow….It is totally can see the much different, compare before to after of this audience room. This is really so beautiful and looks more comfortable. JP, you are the best and good job. You are really inspiring me 🙂

Dear Rinpoche, my opinion to JP is that he is a funny, smart, very good at designing and a sociable person. That place looked so much comfortable after JP redesign the whole place. And the 15 paintings about Tsongkhapa’s live are really beautiful. We sure have many talented Kecharians.

  80. Lars on Aug 21, 2013 at 12:34 am

Wow! Looks great! Such a majestic view gazing up on Rinpoches chair, whatever junk that clouds the mind will effectively flee upon entering such a hall, leaving the guest fully focused on the present.:) Great job JP!

  81. sweekeong on Aug 21, 2013 at 12:30 am

My initial thought was where was this audience room. After reading and digesting the news I realized that it is in Wisdom Hall after all. The before and after image the renovation done to the room one would not recognize it. This is a very beautiful room indeed. I think you could only see it in the movies. It is very inspiring to see such well designed room in the midst of Bentong jungle. I am very happy for JP.

  82. Keng nam on Aug 21, 2013 at 12:24 am

Exquisite. You are indeed one with your Lama.

  83. LilyT on Aug 21, 2013 at 12:12 am

What a difference! This was not what Rinpoche’s audience room looked like a couple of days ago. What a transformation! It is a rather big room but JP had given it a warm and inviting ambience. My sister,Shirley, was amazed by the clever use of panellings to disguise the doorway. Keep up the good work, JP. There is no end to your talent.

  84. tfreon on Aug 21, 2013 at 12:00 am

JP have good eyes to beautify things. It is so simple and yet nice.

      Correction:
JP always have good eyes to beautify things.
The arrangement of the room is so simple and yet turn to be “elegant” and neat.

I really like the design, from the matching of the colors to the chairs to the painting of Manjushri & Tsongkhapa on the wall. He take care of every single details.

This is done from a heart that is truly sincere.

  85. M.B. on Aug 20, 2013 at 11:43 pm

It’s very nice – I like it. although it would be better for the students to have taller tables in front of their seats in order to see better their books and to be more comfortable to write down notes.

  86. Sock Wan on Aug 20, 2013 at 11:37 pm

Beautiful! JP has really good taste 🙂 He is capable of making a place that is not of the highest quality looks very exclusive and posh.

  90. Koh Hee Peng on Aug 20, 2013 at 11:06 pm

Thank you JP for so much for your care and attention towards the colour, texture, and the arrangement of the room. Despite your tight schedule, you have done magic to the room. Thank you.

  91. Sharon Ong on Aug 20, 2013 at 11:02 pm

I just LOVE the colour scheme! JP is such a genius!

  92. MartinC on Aug 20, 2013 at 10:58 pm

There seems to be no end to JP’s talents and its not only the intelligence and the skills but these innate abilities driven further by JP’s love for Rinpoche. What JP does with these interior designs are not just evidences of his talents but also testimony of how close to his heart JP holds Rinpoche. It is the mark of a student who wants the world to see his Guru in the highest regard possible and JP’s work sends out that message clearly.

What Rinpoche said about JP winning accolades if he were to do this commercially is without a doubt, but just looking at Rinpoche’s deep appreciation of JP’s efforts is far more valuable than any awards for sure. What a great example of Guru devotion.

JP is someone who’ll make sure everything is done to the finest details with no excuse. I admire his dedication to Rinpoche that is obviously shown in this particular masterpiece. I can tell he is an observant who will make sure what is done suits the person which the work is dedicated to. Losar is the Tibetan New Year, a festival that marks the beginning of the year on the Tibetan calendar. It is celebrated among the Tibetan community all over the world recently. Losar marks the beginning of the Tibetan calendar year a time for family gatherings, religious ceremonies, and feasting because of its long history and rich cultural traditions. The celebrations will last for 15 days whereby the first three days being the most important day for them and widely celebrated festival on the Tibetan calendar. During theTibetan New Year, Panglung Oracles are known to enter a trance state, of the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden. This practice is considered a significant part of the Losar celebrations within the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, providing guidance and blessings to those seeking their wisdom. People often consult the Panglung oracles to receive predictions, advice, and blessings for the coming year. Dorje Shugden will also give teachings while in trance of an oracle.
Reading this old blog again where back in 2022, the Great Protector Dorje Shugden gave an inportant message to everyone of us. We should take it seriously practising good virtues, such as prostrating ,making offerings and practise the holy Dharma. Everyone should always be kind-hearted and doing our best to cultivate loving-kindness, compassion and bodhicitta.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this precious advices.

Pemayangtse Monastery is a Buddhist monastery in Sikkim, India that is part of the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. It is one of the oldest and most famous monasteries in Sikkim. It is home to Dorje Shugden, a spirit in Tibetan tradition. The monastery is one of the oldest and most famous in Sikkim. Pemayangtse Monastery in Sikkim, founded by Lhatsun Namkha Jigme of the Nyingma tradition. One of the earliest modern academic references to Dorje Shugden. Stunning sculptures, paintings and ancient scrolls can be found in the Monastery. Interesting story behind this monastery,as described by Lieutenant Colonel Laurence Austine Waddell a British explorer, collector and author. Through the years of travelling in India, Sikkim and areas on the borders of Nepal and Tibet, after doing research on Tibetan Buddhist religious practices he made a stunning discovery. He discovered that Dorje Shugden existence in the Nyingma monastery as written in his book, which confirmed that Dorje Shugden been worshipped in the Nyingma as well . Not only worshipped in the Gelug lineage but held prominence in the Nyingma tradition too. Interesting read.

Inspiring read, revisit again to refresh about an important lama. Venerable Geshe Thupten a Tibetan great scholars and master who founded Tibetan schools in exile. He who had upheld the lineage of Lord Buddha’s liberating teachings and his practice of Dorje Shugden. Even though in exile Geshe Thupten Lama worked tirelessly for the Tibetan government yet just because he did expressed his views openly, and bravely regarding banning the practice of Dorje Shugden. After serving the Tibetan government for so many years, Geshe Thupten Lama is threatened and branded a Chinese spy. He left to the USA and wrote The Supreme Path to the Trikaya where he commented detailed explanations on the practice of the Six Paramitas or the Six Perfections, and other beneficial Dharma treasures.

Historically, the Panchen Lama was second only to the Dalai Lama in spiritual authority within the Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism.
The 10th Panchen Lama, believed to be an emanation of Amitabha himself. The 10th Panchen Lama saw auspicious signs after completing the prayer text or Sungbum to Dorje Shugden. He had strong feelings that Dorje Shugden has been working hard to protect the Buddha Dharma in general and especially the lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa . Like thousands of other great beings, the Panchen Lama had relied on Dorje Shugden, been practiced in his monastery, Tashi Lhunpo until his end. Hundreds thousands of people would his attend public discourses each time.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this precious texts with us. May everyone be blessed by this powerful composition by H H Panchen Lama propitiating the compassionate Dorje Shugden.

Tales of supernatural creatures like Bigfoot, aliens, trolls, little people are always my reading interest. Came across this old blog about Dark Watchers so interesting.
The Dark Watchers known by early Spanish settlers as Los Vigilantes Oscuros. Is a name given to a group of entities in California folklore purportedly seen observing travellers along the Santa Lucia Mountains. The earliest written accounts of the Dark Watchers date back to the 1700s, when Spanish colonists called them los vigilantes oscuros. According to Chumash folklore, the Dark Watchers are shadowy figures that stand atop the lofty heights, silently observing the land below. The Dark Watchers are mysterious, tall, shadowy figures that have been reported in California for centuries. They are often described as wearing cloaks and hats, and are said to appear around twilight. Whatever scary it looks we have Dorje Shugden to protect us. Even though there are spirits every where seen or not seen by our naked eyes we should leave them un disturb as it is. I do believe its existence every where day and night.
Thank you Rinpoche sharing this with us.

Revisit this blog again and again as its such an interesting blog with awesome stories to share. All about a great Gelugpa lama . Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was a scholar, an abbot, a Dharma teachers and he was also a healer. He was an important Gelugpa lama and a contemporary of the 5th Dalai Lama. Tulku Drakpa Gyaltsen was the erudite high lama who arose as the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden, regarded as an emanation of the Wisdom Buddha Manjushri. During the era of the Great Fifth Dalai Lama, Dorje Shugden took rebirth in the form of a very special incarnate lama. Just imagine at the age of 2 or 3, he was already speaking and playing with ritual instruments and having clear visions of meditational deities and enlightened beings. Apparently, he had also received many direct visions of deities and exalted Gurus from a very young age. Tulku Drakpa Gyaltsen and the 5th Dalai Lama shared a very respectful and close relationship. As results there’s jealousy among officers of 5th Dalai Lama resulting in the murder of Tulku Drakpa Gyaltsen. As an apology to Dorje Shugden for the murder the 5th Dalai Lama crafted a statue and even composed an apologetic prayer. He also built a chapel Trode Khangsar dedicated to recognize Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen as a Dharma protector,Dorje Shugden in Lhasa.
I have the opportunity to visit this Scared Trode Khangsar years back . Reading this blog always remind me of my trip.
Thank you Rinpoche for this interesting sharing. May more people able to visit this Trode Khangsar.

Buddhism is one of the recognized religions in Indonesia, with a long history in the country. The largest Buddhist temple in the world, Borobudur, is located in Central Java. Buddhism arrived in Indonesia in the sixth century. The history of Buddhism in Indonesia is closely related to the history of Hinduism. The Indonesian archipelago has, over the centuries, witnessed the rise and fall of powerful Buddhist empires. A number of Buddhist sites and artifacts related to Indonesia’s historical heritage can be found in Indonesia. As such the 8th century Borobudur mandala monument and Sewu temple in Central Java and numerous statues or inscriptions from the earlier history of Indonesian Hindu-Buddhist kingdoms. Interesting read. Many Buddhist sites, stupas, temples, and manuscripts were lost or forgotten with since the arrival of Islam. Once a year, thousands of Buddhists from Indonesia and neighboring countries flock to Borobudur to commemorate the national Waisak Day. The Borobudur Temple Compounds is one of the greatest Buddhist monuments in the world, and was built in the 8th and 9th centuries AD. The monument was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1991.
Thank you Rinpoche , interesting sharing. Hopefully I could visit this great monument in future

The Lizard Man is a legendary, seven-foot-tall, red-eyed, scaly-skinned reptile that is said to live in the swamps of South Carolina. The legend of the Lizard Man has been around since 1988. The Lizard Man of Scape Ore Swamp ,also known as the Lizard Man of Lee County is an entity said to inhabit the swampland of the region. A large, green, lizard-like creature emerged from the shadows. Many others have claimed encounters with the legendary Lizard Man. The Lizard Man has been the subject of much publicity in the press, on the radio, television and even in movies. The lizard man myth brings curious travellers from across the globe into town, searching for the prehistoric beast lurking beneath the swamp. Ancient Historical Accounts of Lizard man sound interesting after reading it. I do believe in legends as there’s many unseen beings whereby is not seen by our naked eyes. Many others have claimed encounters with the legendary Lizard Man, leaving a mark on the small, agricultural town.

Arjia Rinpoche is one of the most prominent Buddhist teachers and lamas to have left Tibet. He was recognized by 10th Panchen Lama as the 20th Arjia Danpei Gyaltsen, the reincarnation of Je Tsongkhapa’s father. He has trained with lineage teachers, such as the 14th Dalai Lama, the 10th Panchen Lama, and Gyayak Rinpoche. He had received many sacred teachings and ritual instructions from these great lamas. He was forced to leave his monastery and attend a Chinese school, yet secretly continued to practice and study with his tutors during the Cultural Revolution . Arjia Rinpoche went into exile and escaped to the United established a Buddhist Center for Compassion and Wisdom. Throughout his life, Arjia Rinpoche was tutored by specialized teachers in the area of Buddhist philosophy, sutra and tantra teachings, as well as in Buddhist art and architectural design.Since then Rinpoche has been giving teachings throughout the United States, Canada, Taiwan, India and Guatemala.
For the sake of harmony and unity of the Tibetans , Rinpoche has advised the Tibetans to stop discriminating against Dorje Shugden practitioners. Arjia Rinpoche’s message of peaceful is consistent with the spirit of Buddhism and even spirituality in general. The ban against Dorje Shugden was imposed in 1996 and since that time, the has cause sufferings among the Tibetans in exile. No one should be discriminated against due to their religion or spiritual path. Dorje Shugden people, should be allowed choice of religion and be involved in the preservation of the Tibetan culture. It was during the 10th Panchen Lama’s Maha-Parinirvana 30th Anniversary, Arjia Rinpoche spoke bravely on fulfilling the Panchen Lama’s wishes.

Buddhism is a religion and philosophy that developed from the doctrines of the Buddha. Is a major religion in the world, originated in India in the 5th century BCE and is based on the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama, also known as the Buddha. Buddhists believe that life is a cycle of suffering and rebirth. Having priests and pastors in each centers or place of worships or retreat centers around the world serving and spreading Buddha teachings with more and more people get to know more knowledge of Buddhism. Reading this blog , given me a more understanding of the role of Pastors or known as Priest in some parts of the world. There’s many Buddhist Priest around the world serving others leading services , performing ceremonies and rituals. Many people have benefited, having Pastors or Priests around helping them out with their teaching, and providing spiritual support. That’s awesome. Here at Kechara we too having Pastors making Buddha’s wisdom accessible to more people by giving spiritual guidance and sharing knowledge. In this way, the Dharma is preserved and made available to busy spiritual seekers. Interesting blog knowing some of those wonderful Buddhist priests around the world and many more to come spreading Dharma teachings..

Compassion is always in season. Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet. Until he extends the circle of compassion to all living things. Animals have moral status, and animal suffering matters. No need to explain more as different people have different view. Let them be and say what they want.

Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing. Living a quiet life, often characterized by simplicity and a deliberate choice. A far away quiet environment can offer numerous benefits for one’s well-being and overall quality of life. Living a calm and simple life yet rich with inner meaning, personal growth, and a deep connection to oneself, one’s values . Those moment of quietness, free from the rush and noise of daily life, allows for self-reflection and a deeper understanding of our actions and their impacts. By taking a softer approach to living, we can focus more on our internal happiness, building our emotional health.
Since learning Dharma and putting into practice have taught me to live simplicity free from the rush and noise of daily life.

The act of liberating animals helps us to develop the nature of not harming others, creating the awareness of not eating animals for the sake of attachment to meat and thus promoting a vegetarian lifestyle. When one releasing lives brings blessings to the whole family, a multitude releasing lives brings divine protection. Among all merits, releasing lives is indeed supreme. Beyond financial generosity , we also practice the generosity of Dharma and the generosity of fearlessness. Releasing lives embodies all three types of giving in one noble act which we should make use of the opportunity to do more. The merits of animals liberation are truly unparalleled.
Reading this article by Daily Mail Reporter where a group of Tibetan Buddhists released 534 live lobsters into the Atlantic Sea. Rejoice Geshe Tenley and a group of Tibetan Buddhists releasing them one by one to freedom into the deep water.
    Thank you Rinpoche .

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer

As H. E. The 25th Tsem Tulku Rinpoche has mentioned: The lunar New Year is an auspicious occasion when we renew ties and rekindle joy with our loved ones. Hence, happy to see many families gathered together to usher the Lunar New Year at Kechara Penang and also appreciation for the guests that came from afar for this joyous occasion. By Jacinta
