Plum Village
Dear friends,
This is a spiritual teacher I admire and respect. This is a retreat centre I am in awe of that this great master conceptualized and created for the benefit of so many. I hope many will travel there, join and become a part of their community. I rejoice in all their dharma work. I pray that the most Venerable Master Thich Nhat Hanh will live very long and continue his incredible works and Plum Village will continue to thrive and grow further.
I rejoice in the sponsors, students, volunteers that support this master. I take courage in their hard work, obstacles, pains and difficulties they encountered but never gave up. They not giving up is a testimony of their genuine practice and spirituality.
Please enjoy the BEAUTIFUL pictures of Plum Village and practice I share here.
Humbly,
Tsem Rinpoche

What a beautiful and spiritual place, and rejoice for all those that have the merits to be part of such a beneficial place much akin to our Kechara Forest Retreat. Plum Village in France is so beautiful and serene. It is built to suit for meditation and retreat activities. Likewise for Kechara Forest Retreat in Bentong. We are so fortunate and with Rinpoche kindness we have a similar retreat centre for us to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Such a great place to practise dharma. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this article and such beautiful photos of Plum Village.
Amazing place …… a retreat centre at Plum Village, in France which founded by the most Venerable Master Thich Nhat Hanh. A place where many people around the world experience the art of mindful living. Coming to Plum Village for a retreat is an opportunity to enjoy simple and peaceful living, and to learn how to cultivate the energy of mindfulness.
Plum village has a beautiful landscape and quiet environment for anyone to have more freedom, peace and happiness in our daily life. It is also a chance to nurture our inner growth as we take time to look deeply in order to transform both our individual difficulties and the difficulties in our society.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this beautiful retreat centre with all the beautiful pictures and the video too.
May Rinpoche continue turning the Dharma wheel. May our Kechara Forest retreat centre be like the Plum Village someday .
The sponsors, students, volunteers and more people will continue to support ,work hard and what ever they encountered never gave up with their good work.
Wow, Plum Village in France is so beautiful and serene. It is built to suit for meditation and retreat activities. People can go there to have a relaxation, calm and quiet period for themselves, in an environment that is clean, natural and fresh.
Likewise for Kechara Forest Retreat in Bentong. We are so fortunate and with Rinpoche kindness we have a similar retreat centre for us to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Such a great place to practise dharma.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this article.
Thank you for the beautiful images of Plum Village. What I notice is that the kids a are involved with dharmic yet entertaining activities while the parent/s participate in retreat activities.
Wonderful for all involved looking for peace and calm. The natural surroundings surely enhances the experience. It will also teach the younger generation to appreciate nature.
A beautiful place to practice being mindful and aware.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing such beautiful photos of Plum Village, a retreat centre which has been visited by many including non-Buddhists. This retreat centre blends in beautifully with the nature, and it give people the sense of calmness just by looking at the photos.
Just like what Rinpoche said, behind the success of any of these spiritual places, there are many people who silently working behind the scene to firstly create the place, and then secondly to maintain the place. What we see nicely outside speaks a lot about the care and kindness of many people who work behind the scenes. This includes the sponsors, the builders, the staff who run the programs, the people who maintain the place, the volunteers etc etc.
To me, a retreat centre is not just a nice place to visit. It is more than that. It is a place where we can have the chance to collect merits, to further our spiritual practice, and eventually to end our suffering and ending others’ suffering.
I rejoice in the good work of Venerable Master Thich Nhat Hanh, His students, sponsors, staffs, volunteers, and everyone who help to build and maintain this beautiful retreat centre. It is people like Ven. Master Thich Nhat Hanh who works tirelessly for the sake of all sentient beings.
May I also work hard to assist Tsem Rinpoche for the quick manifestation of Kechara Forest Retreat so that it too can benefit many sentient beings.
Such a beautiful place, a reflection of its founder. The beauty of the centre is that it is among nature. The landscape looks natural and not purposely manicured. The buildings look simplistic and functional. It looks like a place that is in harmony with nature.
One thing about nature is we can never beat its wonder and beauty. One can immediately tell when a place is in harmony with nature. When nature is happy, it glows and it radiates and that radiant beauty cannot be masked or hidden. It will awe, it will mesmerize. That is what I see when I look at the photos of Plum Village.
Hopefully in time, with awareness and mindfulness Kechara Forest Retreat will also become such a place. A place where the community lives in harmony, appreciation and mutual respect with nature.
Plum village is such a beautiful place, just by looking at the pictures, they give me and also most of the people the feeling of warmth and peace. One of my favourite scenes would be a sea of sunflowers, I absolutely love the warmth and peacefulness it exudes.
Kechara Forest Retreat is working towards the direction of self sustainability and creating a conscious community where everyone works together to achieve the same goals. Such a beautiful place to be in and I’m indeed very lucky to be part of it.
Thank you Rinpoche for posting this visual feast. What a beautiful and spiritual place, and rejoice for all those that have the merits to be part of such a beneficial place much akin to our Kechara Forest Retreat. How lucky and blessed are we to have a Plum Village on our doorstep too, may KFR grow to benefit many.
This beautiful “Plum Village” containing a holistic retreat centre created for the benefits of many, is said to be conceptualised under His most excellent Venerable master Thich Nhat Hanh, whom our Rinpoche admired. Similar to ‘Kechara Forest Reserve’ in Malaysia, it also has a holistic Health meditational centre to focus on total wellness of Body, mind and spirit through spiritual retreats in learning and living within a natural forest enclave nestled in the lush green hills of forested environment. May His most Ven. master Thich Nhat Hanh and all his sponsors, followers, friends, students and volunteers who have contributed and help in successfully puting up this magnificient beautiful holistic Plum village live long, to continue giving loving kindness, joy, equanimity and compassion to benefit all sentient beings. It is so important to have a place away from the hustle and bustle of city life for practitioners to wind down and be with nature. Plum Village looks like the perfect place ! I am also certain Kechara Forest Retreat would be another ! Many beings will be able to benefit from these ideal havens !
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this video on Plum Village.Plum Village and its community exudes so much warmth and caring that seems to come from a strong sense of interdependence. I remember the word “Interbeing” when I firest came across it; it was Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh who created the ‘concept’. Here in Plum Village, the togetherness and oneness of the community is palpable.
The environment of peace, tranquility, the great joy and camaraderie of fellow Plum Village dwellers, and more – so much joy , laughter, song and music. The sense of peace and oneness with the tranquility of nature. Here there is truly CONSCIOUS LIVING. May the Kechara Forest Retreat community of Tsem Rinpoche become like this as a spiritual community.
谢谢仁波切的分享 !

Plum Village exudes the energy of peace and calm just by looking at the photos. being one with the environment is a great to start a journey to reconnect with ourselves. Nature is compassionate and nurturing to allow physical and emotional healing in an efficient and effective manner.
I am lucky to live in a “Plum Village” in my home, Malaysia. Kechara Forest Retreat is still new and still work in progress. But I can see it becoming a spiritual village where people can come to develop clarity, find answers and embark on a path towards spiritual awakening.
Thank you Rinpoche for the beautiful images. Such a nice way to start Monday morning.
