The Island Yacht is for sale!!!
Last week, I received a forwarded email about something quite amazing, it was about an island on a boat! Conceptualized by a Monaco yacht brand ‘Wally’ and Parisian fashion house ‘Hermès’, the Wally Hermès Yacht (WHY) built yachts to cater for billionaires wanting both mobility in the sea and space on the property.
With a price tag of $160 million, the yacht is 58 metres long and 38 metres wide. It has a total guest area of 3,400 sq metres, capable of catering up to 12 guests and 20 crew. The yacht consists of 5 bedrooms, a 25 metre swimming pool, cinema, music room, dining room, and even a beach. It is also environmental-friendly with it’s 900 sq metres of photovoltaic panels generating solar energy during the day. This feature allows the yacht to save up to 200 tones of diesel per year!
I would not buy a yacht for sure, but this was interesting to share. Do you like this??? Or do you have better ways to spend money?? hehe

Boat for Sale
Yes you read it right, a whole amazing island built right on a beautiful yacht. Created by UK-based yacht design company Yacht Island Designs, bringing a whole island onto a yacht.
The design as you can see is inspired by tropical islands, with huts, a pool and to top of that, a whole volcano that is sure not to erupt. Since this is a yacht, it comes packed with special VIP rooms, arcades, gym, lounges, spas and even a helipad. The volcano adds a lot of beauty to the whole look of the yacht, it also happens to have water flowing out of it onto the pool creating this amazing river complementing the whole tropical look.
The back of the yacht has a retractable beach deck where structures float on the sea making the sea accessible to swim in and of course grant access to various water activities such as wake boarding and jet-skis. The whole concept is pure genius and the result looks even better.

AMAZING ….. an island on a boat, what an unique architectural design of an island. First time coming across such a island boat . Most eye-catching boat, I think only billionaires could afford this type of life style living . Wow…..looks spacious having 5 bedrooms, a swimming pool, cinema, music room, dining room, and even a beach. And its also environmental-friendly boat as well. Beautiful pictures tells all.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.
How do I get this
Wow, this is amazing! But the price id madness. But i guess you can say it is worth it because it does look very good and is even eco friendly. I wonder if anyone has bought this yacht yet. Thank you for sharing Rinpoche, i actually enjoyed reading about this.
For me, this is not it! Totaly over the top. As the reply from Windi states, people have to learn the word “enough”.
It would be a Great world where everybody would stop collecting anything after reaching the enough point.
Pitty but they won’t. Its the century of unlimited greed.
Even if I had the money to buy this Yacht, I wouldn’t. I would instead use the money to help others because an island yacht will have no benefit to anyone and even myself as I hate boats. The money could definitely go to a better cause.
Is it April 1st already?
This is cooler then me. I want to buy this boat. Where is it
This is sweet
Dude this thing is fucking sick i would party so much if i have enough money to ever own this Paradise Island. i would live in the marina (whichever one i was in) The fastest way to buy this bad boy (anything shy of being a fat-cat) is to flip drugs and buy bonds ^_^
What does it cost to run the yacht. A dream come true for the rich to buy. For me it would be a dream come true for a day. I am handicap and want to know what is available for one who has trouble walking. Do not mean to take up your time. These are only dreams of mine to know these things. Respect, joyce
Dear Rinpoche, this design looks so amazing until I am stunned. It’s sure worth a very big amount of money but if I am rich as Tan Sri and I don’t know Dharma I might have bought it already! The boat is super big and there are swimming pool, the recreational area includes jet skis, kayaks,A bar area, outdoor dining, there’s a private spa and four VIP suites for friends, all with their own private balcony. It’s so cool! If I live inside the boat I might never leave the boat.
Fascinating yacht and if I had the money, I would not buy this boat unless I know I can sell it off for an even bigger profit. Instead, I would divided the money into different parts for investment, part of it would go towards hiring really good and professional team of a few people to assist Rinpoche, another few more to market Rinpoche and finally another team of a few more to promote Kechara.
Then, another sum would be used to provide for the benefits that Rinpoche would decide to reward beneficial and hardworking liaisons and students. A last sum, would of course go towards Kechara Forest Retreat. My intention would be to have a balance of expenditure and return of investments. That would be most ideal and I feel with US$160 million, I can definitely achieve that.
This is seems very interesting. I would love to buy an Island Yacht but I would use the money instead to help other beings as what is the point of benefiting myself and impressing my friends when I could be using the money to benefit millions of other sentient beings.
Personally i would never spend that amount on a yacht or house or car or anything material. Even before i met Dharma, i wouldn’t, because the money would be better spent elsewhere. With Dharma now, if i had USD160 million, i would just give it to Tsem Rinpoche for him to use as he deems fit. If we look at what Rinpoche would do if he had financial freedom, it is far greater than what i would be able to do on my own http://blog.tsemtulku.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/me/if-i-had-the-full-financial-support-i-needed.html
Lol! it’s so funny to go for a swim in the yacht… in the middle of the sea!
Well… 160 million, I suppose this is toys that only multibillionaires will consider having lol.
If I had this type of money would I get it? Not really. But if you’re a multibillionaire, your circle of friends will be different… so having this 160 million yacht can actually serve as an entertaining ground for your circle of friends… and who knows, you may raise more than 160 million by using this yacht as a tool. hehe
Dear Rinpoche,
Even If i had $160 million i would definitely not buy this yacht at all.
It looks a bit interesting but i don’t really think it is that worth it because if i had $160 Million i just can’t imagine how much work can be done to Kechara Forest Retreat. Also the money could also benefit a lot of people in the world that are homeless and without food and drinks, i am sure that if this big sum of money went to something good it would benefit much much more people than how much the yacht can possibly hold. Besides $160 Million you still have to pay bills, the crews stipend as well as maintenance bills wich would cost another big sum of money.
In fact one would also not be staying in this yacht his/or her whole life which means that a house still has to be bought on land besides that that i think it is too expensive to have both a super expensive yacht and a house on land too.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this article!
Wow the yacht is unique and beautiful. Very creative to have a island built on a yacht. Spending so much money for one’s luxury will become a big headache when it comes to maintenance and upkeep and furthermore it will not benefit many people. With the amount of money spent, it is better to spend it on worthy cause that will benefit more people.
This yacht is amazing! I love how they built an island ON a boat. lol. If I can afford it, i might get it to do retreats inside the manmade cave. hehe
But then again, I can use the same money to help build KFR it is even more beneficial because this yacht is only for me, whereas KFR is for everyone and for the generations to come.. =)
Thank you, Rinpoche!
think of it this way hire 20 people there the worlds better then other people can do the same
Wowwwwwwwwwww….this is an amazing Yacht!!! I wish to go on for holiday for a week hehehehe…but if i were to be this rich, I will either use the money to benefit more people or in a Dharma center or people who needs help badly. Or I will buy this yacht for business and the money that i earn is to benefit others hehehehe…
This is really an expensive toy haha…
It’s a very nice Yacht. Can’t think of any else where that I can let myself indulged in more perfectly than having just 1 night stay here. If one I do have that money to spend I would give that money to build KFR and KWPC to create the Legacy for generations to enjoy the dharma.
Oh my Buddha! The design is so BEAUTIFUL! If I have like hundreds of millions, of course I will buy 1 to cruise around the world with my loved ones and friends. We can do retreat on the yacht as well. Wouldn’t it be fun?
If I have that money and if it creates benefit why not. What is the benefit I can’t figure it out yes, unless one does business transactions and this business is used to support a beneficial cause.
Dear Rinpoche,
I don’t know if I would buy this yacht because it all depends on whether by buying it would end up benefiting many people such as giving them employment. I think the building of this yacht may entails many people getting paid by my money and kids get to go to school and in maintaining my beautiful yacht a few families suddenly have work to do. And if this is a way for me to redistribute my wealth, why not?
At the end of the day, it does not matter whether I own a cheap plastic car or an extravagant cruise ship, it all boils down to my intention. If the cheap plastic car, I clutch with attachment and own it out of greed and it brings severe unhappiness to all my friends but the cruise ship brings three villages out of poverty because it sustains their livelihood and it is managed with love and joy whereby all the cabin crew, the engineers and staffs are totally happy and we also get to learn Dharma on board, it may not be a bad thing after all. 🙂 hahaha!
All these arise when our mind is clear and we have the wisdom to see beyond physical appearances. It is the mind, not the yacht, which is greed.
This is just my 2 cent worth.
Namaste. Thank you, Rinpoche for posting this article.
Sincerely,
Wendy
Wow the yacht is beautiful! But I would never buy it. I was having a conversation with some friends the other day, and we were talking about the ways wealth fools and entraps us. Everyone thinks it is so glamorous to own your own plane or yacht, but they don’t think about the ‘suffering’ that goes on behind the scenes.
Once you have all expensive toys, what happens? There are the costs of keeping the plane in the hangar, your yacht moored in the marina, the crew always ready to fly the plane or launch the yacht… after all, how many of us can live all year long on a boat or plane? You have more laws and regulations to follow. And once we have bought the latest toy, how long before the novelty wears off and we look for something else exciting to do?
The old adage that money can’t buy happiness is really true!
As for me, I would use the money to benefits millions of people rather benefiting myself. The money can be used to curb proverty in 3rd world country and helping people in need
Although it is very interesting. but i Agree with u ^^, ^^,
This planet has enough resources for everyone from the smallest single cell life form to the now extinct dinosaur. Nature has her way of keeping things in order. But human greed messes things up. Humans want more and more and more and thus creating an imbalance. But the good news is that we can un-create this imbalance by making different choices that are focused on love, giving and compassion; when we choose “we and us” instead of “me, myself and I”.
Blessed be. _/\_
You are so right! I really like your words and I am with you!
thats a lie just like people wanting others to drive “smart” cars while they drive High end cars knock the &%^$%^ and the fake acts.
