(Posted by Admin)
Update: 25th December, 23:59GMT
We would first like to thank each and everyone of you who submitted an entry! In the last week, we received 163 entry submissions for the book competition from all around the world!
Creativity is subjective and individually expressed, therefore we considered both the submitted image and accompanying caption. We went through every single entry and asked ourselves, “Do they both compliment each other to best express peace?”
After 24 hours of deliberating, the Directors of Tsem Rinpoche Foundation would like to congratulate our two winners! Again, thank you all for submitting your entry, for your support and participation. It has been a pleasure to host this book competition!
With folded hands,
Tsem Rinpoche Foundation

BITES OF WISDOM FROM THE BOOK: COMPASSION CONQUERS ALL
“I am not asking you to chant more, or recite more prayers and mantras; I am asking you to practise real life Dharma. The real practice right now, for all of us, is to bring incredible harmony and love into our families and to every single person who comes into contact with us. Start there.”
“Do you know what’s the greatest mind? The greatest mind is not wanting other people to change, but you yourself changing and accepting other people. The greatest mind is to stop wondering when they will change. No. You should think instead, “When will I change?” That is the greatest practice.”
BITES OF WISDOM FROM THE BOOK: PEACE
“So, if you believe in God, that’s fabulous; if you believe in Buddha, that’s fabulous; if you don’t believe in anything, that’s fabulous. But please believe in yourself and please believe in the happiness you can bring to people around you. Believe in that. Wouldn’t that be lovely?”
“Dharma is the love, harmony and the greater understanding that a wife and a husband feel for each other. It is when there are fewer arguments between a wife and a husband, between cousins, between siblings, between children and their parents. It brings people closer together.”

SUMMARY OF THE BOOK: COMPASSION CONQUERS ALL
Compassion Conquers All reveals the heart of Buddhist wisdom in eight short verses, as elucidated by a fearless pioneer of contemporary Dharma.
Unconditional love and freedom are here and now if we let go of self-centered obsession and let ourselves be embraced by what is.
The very life we are living, with all its difficulties, failures, and frustrations, can be the road to liberation. The world can be our school of transformation. Everybody becomes our best friend. We become our own best friend.
Deeper and deeper, from learning to cherish all beings as precious, to realizing that those we perceived as enemies are our supreme teachers, the teachings in Compassion Conquers All transport us into our innermost heart where we discover that we are the light we have been longing for. Indeed, compassion conquers all.
SUMMARY OF THE BOOK: PEACE
Peace begins here, right where we are. Far from being a distant concept, inner and outer peace can be created at every moment, in every conversation, and with our every action.
In this compilation of short teachings, Tsem Rinpoche brings us back to the basics of what it means to create peace and lasting harmony within ourselves and with the people around us. He reveals surprising truths, offers us refreshing new perspectives, and gives us practical solutions for dealing with daily situations.
With this book, you will gain the tools to increase the happiness in your life and overcome the hurdles. You will also learn how to foster strong, joyous relationships with others, fight your demons, and enhance your own positive potential in everything you do. Ultimately, you will discover that, just like the book you are now holding, peace is entirely in your hands.

Now only I came to realise that there were so many definitions for a single word ‘Peace’. To Wan San and Martin, congrats to both of you, you guys have won! For others, congrats too as I do love all the entries. Some of the entries made me contemplate even more. There are different perspectives looking at ‘Peace’. To Rinpoche, congrats for the books to be republished in USA and thanks for the competition.
Congratulatioins to Wan San and Martin! The both of you truly captured the theme of Peace in your own words and the wonderful picture you posted. Congratulations =)
Let me just start of by saying how this competition is such a good idea to promote peace. Rinpoche has really come up with such a creative and useful idea ☺
Peace is so important in our lives. Without it we would not be able to live with comfort or have the resources we need to survive. Therefore, we need to maintain peace. We must act with great compassion to others in order to keep peace within our societies. Help others when they need help and always make people feel special. If everyone acts in this way then there will be no wars or fights, but peace instead.
Whenever I read up or watch videos about other countries or areas in this world which are in war, it teaches me a great lesson. It teaches me that not everyone is so lucky as me, to be able to live the life I am now living. I then begin to appreciate my life and the things I have. But also, I treat people better. With all the fighting and violence going on in the world, I act more compassionately towards others to prevent such things. Everyone should have this kind of mentality. The world would be at peace.
Thank you for starting this competition. I myself enjoyed participating in it.
Congratulations to Wan San and Martin Chow! All the pictures and words written about peace are very nice and beautiful. Many thanks to Rinpoche, organizers and all who have participated in this competition to spread the awareness and energies of Peace. May all living beings stay in peace and harmony.
Congratulations to the winners — Wan San and Martin Chow! And also to all who submitted the entries, the organiser and my Guru.
When I try to submit the entry I search through the meaning of peace for me…and now seeing others submission on peace, I know definition of peace might be different for each of us, but one thing for sure is we all need PEACE…and it can be found anywhere or lost anytime if we did not treasure it…
Many, many really good entries and I bet it made the judges’ head spin a bit to declare the eventual winners. Congratulations to Martin and Wan San! Fantastic effort, stunning results! From the many good entries, I think there is enough for a coffee table book. 🙂 Thank you, Rinpoche and US Team for this competition. I had fun and more importantly, I am closer to learning the true meaning of peace. Peace to all!

This is AMAZING.(!) The greed within me just launched its whole army for a direct assault on this creative task ahead lol!;D The caption, should it be in the photo itself or plain text in the post? Congratulations in advance to whomever ends up bringing such a gem home.;o Good luck!
Dear Lars,
The caption should be accompanying the picture, not within the photo itself. Do let us know if you have any other questions.
Don’t forget to tag H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche’s fanpage onto your picture. We look forward to seeing your submission!
