Rinpoche’s care for someone in difficult times…
(By Pastor Loh Seng Piow)
Today the grandmother of the security guard in Tsem Rinpoche’s residence unfortunately passed away, so Rinpoche personally picked out a Buddha statue and some Dharma books and incense as a gesture of condolences for the guard. These were to comfort him as he was distraught and was not able to return to his hometown to see his grandmother for the last time. Rinpoche always cares for anyone who is near him, no matter whether He knows them well or not, no matter whether they are His close friends/students or employees. To Rinpoche, He only sees everyone as sentient beings who need care and support.

This is so touching and so sad. I feel sorry for this guard and i hope that he is feeling better now. I am sure that his mother in now in a better place. Rinpoche is always kind to the people around him, and he always finds ways to make people happy. Thank you Rinpoche, this story really touched me.
Rinpoche is a very caring man and he is always there when you need him whether friend, student, employee etc. it does not matter when you need him he will be there.
Wow!! Rinpoche is really kind to give the security guard a statue.
The guard is just a normal person that is not really close to Rinpoche but he still gets a statue. Rinpoche never stops thinking about other people whether they know or don’t know Rinpoche.
Thank you for all the kindness and care you gave to us
When people were down, we need to know how to care for others and not just think about ourselves. thank you rinpoche for care and kindness.
Thank you Seng Piow for the sharing. Our guru compassion have no boundaries. We all knows that he cares for all of our well beings. We certainly hope that the security guards grandmother has a good rebirth and a chance to learn dharma with the blessing of our guru.
The security guard of Rinpoche’s residence had lost his grandmother and was distraught that he had not been able to see his grandmother for the last time before she passed away. Rinpoche was able to empathize with him out of his great compassion, even though Rinpoche hardly knew him. Such is Rinpoche’s care for others, whether friends or strangers, that he would seek to comfort with kind touching gestures like giving gifts of Buddha statues and incense.
Buddha always said: All Sentient beings are equal, to Rinpoche, he does not see anyone higher or lower, he treat everyone as good, whether you are human, animal or spirit, he has the same amount of compassion for all.
When people were down, we need to know how to care for others and not just think about ourselves, there are reason for the people to be around us, so to practice Dharma, we must start to care for people around us, then slowly expand our care to more people.
In fact, every Rinpoche’s action is a teaching, we must learn and practice it.

May Mr.Security’s grandmother have a swift rebirth and may the merits accumulated by her grandson is protecting the Sangha reconnects her grandmother’s rebirth with Dharma again.
Rinpoche tirelessly cares for people non stop and I recall Rinpoche saying that how much we progress spiritually is how much more we care for the people around us. No one is beyond our care and compassion. And we should show a lot of care especially those that do a service for us.
I was blessed to be there that day when Rinpoche presented the gifts to the security guard and asked his students to covey his messages and consolation to the guard. Rinpoche told me afterwards that as a monk or nun, the goal is to take away people’s suffering. Since I have joined Kechara full time, one thing I have come to see clearly is that we are hardly the ones serving our Guru, Buddha, Dharma and Sangha but it is our Guru Tsem Rinpoche who is the one tirelessly serving us. To say thank you seems so insufficient and insignificant. I do pray and hope that one day I would truly serve my Guru and actually understand what it means.
Rinpoche really care all of us.
Hope Mr Security’s grandmother has a swift rebirth. It’s true that Rinpoche sees “everyone as sentient beings who need care and support”.
Rinpoche’s love and care actually not only reach those who near him but to those far away and not so near also, he always send Buddha statues, gifts to oversea practitioners where it’s hard to get statues and etc; and spread the words of wisdom through social media and blog.
Thank you Rinpoche for reminding me that simple gestures to our friends and families do effect them and bring peace to their mind. We can treat our friends and families as just friends or a true friends who wishes the best for them to grow and being happy as human beings. Time is short for each of us. Every seconds is very much precious and we can make the best of it for others. 🙂
For me, Rinpoche cares for all beings that come under His eyes. This makes me feel fortunate to be taken in as His student.
May this gentleman finds comforts through Rinpoche’s gifts and that his grandmother can take a swift and good rebirth.
this is really sad that if we unable to see our family member who has passed away. Rinpoche really care the people around him, with sincere, with no conditions…may this security’s grandmother have good rebirth and able to practice dharma in next life.
Dear Rinpoche,
Thank you for taking care of Mr. Chuah, again you have showed us we should help others indiscriminately without wanting anything in return.
We (my uncle and I) have always tried to do the right thing and be kind to my employees, but more often they take me as a kind fool and take advantage… So, there are many times when my heart tells me it’s ok to help (even though we know they’re lying) but my conscious mind will hesitate and self-doubt and anger will arise…
We’re still struggling with this dilemma on a daily basis… I will contemplate more on how you can do it,so effortlessly.
Hopefully Mr.Security in Tsem Rinpoche’s residence will be OK soon. I believe the Buddha statue from Rinpoche will bring calm to Mr.Security, as all things from Rinpoche is out true care and love. We may not see Rinpoche always, but through his words, no matter verbally or in written form, we still can feel it.
May the security guard’s grandmother has a good rebirth…(I was happy+sad the other day when I read about varja-vigini http://blog.tsemtulku.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/category/vajra-yogini , happy because I’m learning, sad because it reminds me of death. I truly hope everyone is safe and sounds, but none of us can escape from the death… Feeling the needs of learning dharma has to be intensive!
