(by Pastor Loh Seng Piow)

Over the years, His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche has been to many hospitals, doing prayers, performing rituals, giving comfort to the sick, and relieving the worries of the families. The ones on the sick bed could be babies… born with defective organs desperately needing operation, young children, adult men and women with all sorts of illnesses, and dying old people.

Rinpoche is clairvoyant to know whether the person on the sick bed is going to survive or not, so the prayers and rituals that Rinpoche performs varies based on that.

For those who still have the karma to live but are facing obstacles, Rinpoche will perform rituals that will clear their obstacles for a smoother operation and treatment, and they always came out healed from the operation theater; while for those whose time in this life is coming to an end, Rinpoche would perform prayers and rituals that would bless their mind to have a swift and good rebirth.

Rinpoche truly emobodies the qualities of a Bodhisattva as in Shantideva’s Dedication Prayer:

“May all who are sick and ill,
Quickly be freed from their ailments.
Whatever diseases there are in the world,
May they never occur again.”

Very selfless and compassion in action. Rinpoche was kind anytime day or night.
For anyone who is sick we should have compassion and take care of them. It’ comforting knowing Rinpoche would take the time to bless even the sick and dying.

My dearest Guru is always selfless, caring, kind, compassionate, helpful,
supportive, protective, sincere, and actively going all out to care for others, regardless of who they are. Rinpoche is always able to walk the talk. A real precious gem _/\_

Rinpoche paid a visit to my mother a short while before she passed away as can be seen in the third picture above.

But long before this, Rinpoche was there already guiding and advising my sister and I what to do for our mother. 7 months before she passed away, my mother had suffered a mild stroke. Immediately Rinpoche clicked in and started us on pujas and prayers for her as well as making offerings of statues for her. As a result, my mother had a very gentle and gradual decline of health and mobility all the way to the end. Even in the last 3 weeks when she had to be on drips, my Guru and Dorje Shugden saw to it, that everything was there in place for her. She didn’t have to go to hospital. A relative, a doctor, set up the drip and came to see her every morning.

I love my guru for his infinite compassion and care for all. There are so many instances of Rinpoche’s love and care for my mum. But this one stands out for me at this moment in time. In the last weeks of her life, my mum had lost her power of speech. One morning, she started to cry. Tears ran down the corner of an eye. Helpless, as I didn’t know what had caused her to cry, I quickly called up Rinpoche’s personal assistant for advice. Immediately Rinpoche came on the line with the following most compassionate advice. ‘

“Talk to her gently and tell her that she will be together with your dad soon. (This was something only Rinpoche with his sharp perception, insight and empathy could apprehend – my mum had never let go of her clinging to my dad’s memory since he passed away over 50 years ago. She kept telling us that she saw my dad in her dreams and they talked and had long conversations with each other.)

“ Tell her, that you all will be alright and can take care of one another. Tell her it’s okay for her to go and be with your dad. You and I know this doesn’t happen, but it will ease her mind and stop her fears and her worries”.

I talked to my mum and relayed the exact words of Rinpoche to her. With that she immediately stopped tearing! How wonderfully understanding and compassionate my guru, Tsem Rinpoche, is!

Dear Pastor Seng Piow, Thank you for the beautiful pictures. I personally went with Rinpoche many times see people. Rinpoche is very kind at middle of the night or anytime if Rinpoche feels, that person need help Rinpoche always there to help. it is heartfelt experience to see how happy people to see Rinpoche to be there help….

  5. Wan Wai Meng on Aug 15, 2015 at 4:22 am

The image of Rinpoche praying and consoling the sick remind of the scenario that Buddha showed care to an ill monk. ~ “He who attends on the sick attends on me,” that was what buddha said.

  6. Li Kheng on Apr 23, 2015 at 11:46 am

The hospital is a place we all avoid to go because it is a reminder of the nature of samsara…the nature of our existence: illness, old age and death.

As family members age, I have been visiting the hospital more just to accompany my older relatives on the routine check ups etc. It is not comfortable to see life in its less glorious but very truthful form stare me in the eye. It is humbling and a jolt to make different choices because LIFE IS SHORT. Literally.

Rinpoche visits hospital because Rinpoche knows that this is where life happens and this is where beings are scared, alone and helpless. We get “up close and personal” with the fragility of ourselves. Rinpoche offers some relief and a lot of hope to those in pain, in fear and vulnerable. And Rinpoche does this quietly and consistently throughout his life. I have personally gone to such visits with Rinpoche and my family has personally benefitted from receiving such visits.

I learn from Rinpoche that gestures of kindness goes a long way from Rinpoche. I learn from Rinpoche that I too can take action because every act of kindness matters and impacts.

  7. Antoinette Kass on Apr 23, 2015 at 8:05 am

Thank you Pastor Seng Piow for sharing these pictures and information.

Rinpoche works tirelessly to benefit people. Any time, night or day, Rinpoche will do what ever He can to benefit someone in need.

How fortunate to be close to such a holy being.

Thank You Rinpoche for always showing us the best example.

  8. Khoo on Apr 23, 2015 at 2:46 am

I remember receiving news from senior students who are always with Rinpoche that even late in the midnight, Rinpoche will also be going to hospital to help those in urgent need no matter how tired is Rinpoche. This is the dharma that Rinpoche is teaching us, Dharma in action. Now Rinpoche has trained up a group of pastors who are doing the same in helping others and they are running around the whole Malaysia to help others and applying the Dharma in action that Rinpoche taught us.
Thank you Rinpoche for showing us what a true Dharma is.

  9. Pastor Gim Lee on Apr 22, 2015 at 9:28 pm

I know Rinpoche since 2006, on every occasion that I was fortunate enough to attend, such as public Dharma talks or in smaller group teachings, Rinpoche always very caring and will ensure we are comfortable. Rinpoche will generously feed us and gifted us with gifts that he carefully selected.

Whenever Rinpoche find out someone is not well, he will ensure we are being taken care of. Rinpoche visits sick students or relatives in hospitals whenever he sees the needs. He also attend wakes to console the students and their family.

Rinpoche’s actions are purely to benefit others. He cares for all including animals. Rinpoche’s compassion is boundless, a true Bodhisattva’s virtue.

  10. Pastor Henry Ooi on Apr 22, 2015 at 9:27 pm

I had the honour and privilege to be other students who accompanied Rinpoche to some of the visits to hospitals, homes and funeral parlours. Rinpoche not only did pujas but consoled and gave dharma teaching to the next of kins of those who were ill and of those who passed on. For those when Rinpoche was not physically able to go Rinpoche gave advices to students who conducted the pujas and conveyed Rinpoche’s messages. Rinpoche’s compassion has no boundaries.

  11. pammie yap on Apr 22, 2015 at 3:50 pm

Thank you Pastor Seng Piow for always sharing Rinpoche’s behind the scenes’ stories.

I have heard and read many stories that no matter how busy or tired Rinpoche is, He would always take time to take care of everyone around Him. Besides blessing the sick, He would bless animals, the healthy, those in need, the poor, anyone!

As always, Rinpoche always inspire many of us to be just what He taught us. To be kind, caring, loving, compassionate, giving, love and be better.

Thank you Rinpoche for your ever kind and loving guidance!

Thank you Pastor Seng Piow for this beautiful articles on how our guru saved many people’s lives. My brother was one of them. That was many years back and Rinpoche knewly know me. When Rinpoche heard about my brother was in coma in the hospital, immediately He gave a list of intructions such as pujas, animal liberations, candle offerings and offering Buddha statues to be done for my brother. Lots of black tea and prayers to Protector I did at home for my brother which was instructed by Rinpoche. Rinpoche personally chose the Buddha statues of me and those who received the statues will offered 100,000 long life mantra to my brother. It was very critical as the doctor do not know what happened to my brother. It was amazing one month later my brother walked out from the hospital. I will never forget how this actually happened. Rinpoche constantly care and love us and our loved ones. I am always grateful to have a Guru like Rinpoche and may I never parted from Rinpoche for this life and mane lives to come. We are very fortunate to be near Rinpoche. Rinpoche is a bodhisattva on earth.

  13. Pastor Chia on Apr 22, 2015 at 2:11 pm

Witness Rinpoche visiting people in hospital many time since I met him 18 years ago. Rinpoche always reminds us don’t forget those are sick,we must take care of them. Rinpoche always there who need his help. Even he can’t be there for hospital visit, he will arrange puja if necessary, making candle offering and he will personal did prayer for the person who was sick.

  14. Pavara Lam on Apr 20, 2015 at 10:11 pm

Rinpoche is a real lifesaver. Sometimes the situation is really serious, so serious it is that the doctors are helpless. But after Rinpoche comes and does prayers the situation improves. In one case someone had cancer, the cancer had developed so much that there was no cure. It was said that the person had only three more months to live. The person son asked Rinpoche for advice, and the student following what Rinpoche said, did what he was told to do. And in less than three months the cancer cell was gone. The odds of this happening is 1 in 1 million. If Rinpoche had not come to the rescue the the person would not have survived the odds.
There are many more miracles that Rinpoche does everyday, not just saving lives but also clearing obstacles.

Rinpoche is the best doctor that i can think of and if you think of it no doctors could equal what he did.

  15. nicholas on Apr 20, 2015 at 8:05 pm

Those pictures above are the reality of what Rinpoche always do out of his compassion heart. Rinpoche doesn’t just teach through his dharma talk but Rinpoche walk the talk. Rinpoche cares and love for people is very thorough. I’m fortunate enough to witness how Rinpoche shower his cares to the people unconditionally. Rinpoche will plan everything and make sure we execute as plan and this is a very good training for us.

Rinpoche show us how with dharma we can help people not only benefiting them just for this life but also their next rebirth. Many people have been benefitted from Rinpoche cares and loves be it near or far and those who have left or still around, Rinpoche will always use his skilful means to reach out.

  16. DR on Apr 20, 2015 at 1:19 pm

Quite often these hospital visits are during early hours. This is because Rinpoche has just so many things to attend to during the day. Although Rinpoche would have been so so tired by then (many of us after a long day at work would just want to jump into bed), he would still insist on making the hospital visit. Prayers for the sick help both caregiver and patient because by just Rinpoche’s visit, it not only benefits the patient but also has immense therapeutic effect on the family members and gives them comfort and hope.

Whether Rinpoche is teaching on the throne expounding his immense wisdom and knowledge or simply walking around (or so it seems to some people), he is always teaching through his powerful compassion and skillful means.

  17. Wendy Loh on Apr 15, 2015 at 4:15 pm

A picture speaks a thousand words. Rinpoche cares whether you are near or far. Rinpoche will ask about you and takes note of your well-being despite being very busy with a lot of work and responsibilities. Thank you, Rinpoche.

I have to think very hard on the words to use to make this comment in order to share here how it feels like to have Rinpoche’s prayers and blessings; gentle and comforting sound of his voice; the sincere care and love; the warmest and most magical hugs; just the very presence of Rinpoche by our side during the most needed time of our crisis. Rinpoche’s blessings and care have the ability to lift away the most heavy worries in the heart, the most confusing and disturbing state of the mind or even the most painful physical conditions. It is almost like Rinpoche absorbed it all onto himself selflessly ! This must be an act of a Buddha !
    Thank you dearest Rinpoche

With folded hands always , grace

These pictures are an amazing testament to Rinpoche’s compassion. It kinda reminds me of the Buddha always taking it upon himself to take care of the sick. The Buddha made it a commitment for his followers to always care for the sick. He has made it a commitment because he wanted to made a point to put into practice compassion. Thus Rinpoche and the Buddha have set a precedence for his future followers to care for those who are sick and dying. There’s much more than the pictures and I personally have seen Rinpoche have made arrangements for people who are sick to be cared throughout Kechara organization.

  26. Wan Wai Meng on Sep 28, 2013 at 10:58 am

There are so many variations of people who have problems with their health due to variations of karma, some do get healed, some live, some get better but no matter what the next stage is, once Rinpoche goes to bless them they next step will be a better one 🙂

  27. Cliff on Sep 27, 2013 at 2:46 am

I do not see many people do this, more likely none at all. Rinpoche would tirelessly make his way to the hospital whether feeling in good health or not, no matter what time it is, Rinpoche would know when it is the right time to go visit and make the necessary visits. Rinpoche is truly one of the most compassionate person in the world. Thank you Rinpoche for always inspiring us to be better. I hope Rinpoche is feeling well.

  28. Albert Ratchaga on Sep 26, 2013 at 1:58 am

As usual, Rinpoche will never forget about doing prayer for others, He always pray for other’s suffering comes to him in the form of sickness, well, guess what? He got it, Rinpoche has not been feeling well since years ago, and why is he still continue doing all these.. reason being is because he only wanted to benefit the sentient beings, he want to use his limited life to serve and benefit as many people as possible.. nothing else he wishes for, thats why rinpoche always goes to hospital and funerals to do prayer and to bless the sick or deceased..

  29. Jessica Yap on Sep 25, 2013 at 1:08 am

Rinpoche need not publicize the good deeds and the love and care that He shows. IN due time, those lives who were touched by RInpoche’s kindness would be known far and wide.

How many people we know who are always consistent and shows love and truly cares for us tirelessly 24/7? Some might answer that our parents’ love would suffice but we tend to forget that our parents’ love would end this lifetime together with us.
Our kind Guru’s love would care for us in our future lives if we have taken refuge and keep our samaya clean.

When one is on the sick bed, most of them would be depressed, too weak or just not motivated to keep fighting for their lives. With RInpoche around, the love and kindness that RInpoche brings with HIm to the sick and their families is just priceless! RInpoche’s love transcends time and place as Rinpoche helps plan seed and prepare us to meet the Dharma in future lives and to be protected by the 3 Jewels always.

Rinpoche is a true Bodhisattva! If it isn’t because of RInpoche’s kindness to stay in Malaysia and build Kechara, all of us would still be drowning in the sea of ignorance..

If what RInpoche is doing isn’t right, Kechara wouldn’t be where we are today.. =)

Thank you for sharing, Seng Piow. I always enjoy stories from Rinpoche’s POs as the stories are 100% authentic and not hearsay or rumors.

    Thank you, RInpoche.

  30. Felix Kong on Sep 24, 2013 at 10:02 am

  35. Uncle Eddie on Sep 21, 2013 at 1:50 pm

For these fine attitudes of compassion and loving-kindness, which Rinpoche has, are deeply felt by the Mind that cannot bear the sufferings of others, and long for them to be freed from it! But, as said, this leads to attaining great strength of character, courage and enthusiasm, which proves one’s own practice of having cultivated an awakening Buddha’s mind. It is also emphasized that cultivating this type of mind must be pure in the sense of having no concern for “oneself” and an unmarred concern for others. As quoted: “To develope this mind-state of compassion…..is to learn to live, as Buddha put it, with sympathy for all living beings, without exception.” Om mani padmi hum.

  37. sarahyap on Sep 21, 2013 at 12:09 am

Rinpoche has always showed deep care towards others, and most of the time Rinpoche would not publicize these actions. If it was not for people like Seng Piow, Joy etc, we would probably not know how much Rinpoche does to help others.

Knowing how kind and compassionate our Guru is, we should always remind ourselves to never take our Guru for granted and appreciate Him always.

It’s not often that people would purposely make a visit to the hospital to comfort a friend/relative, giving various excuses such as that it’s not hygienic to be in the hospital/a lot of bad energies in the hospital and all.

For Rinpoche to personally get down and pay visits to those in need is indeed a lesson for all, that we should make time and effort for loved ones unfortunately in hospitals, without any excuses.

Thank you bro Seng Piow for sharing this.
We are so fortunate to have Rinpoche with us. Rinpoche’s love and compassion is boundless, regardless or how tired, how sick and how busy he is.
I remembered on how he visited little Gabriel and gave him Amitayu Initiation.
Rinpoche will visit the sick and needly even it is very late at night or very early in the morning. I remembered there is one time that Rinpoche went to hospital in the middle of the night to visit a couples who have just lost their babies and to give them comfort. He teaches us that to be ready every moment to help and support others.
It is such a blessing to have Rinpoche and Kechara! Thank you Rinpoche. May you live long and always turn the wheel of Dharma.

Thank you Seng Piow for posting this. Seeing my mum in the second picture,a short while before her death, my eyes are instantly flooded with tears at the incomparable kindness of Rinpoche toward my mum,my sister and i.

Seeing her clutch the newspaper,I am reminded again of how Rinpoche had described this seemingly insignificant act of my mum, as cause for us to love her more.

Not only did Rinpoche ease the burden of pain for my mum in her last days,he also made sure that my sister and I repaid the “debt” of kindness and love we owed her.

With folded hands and from the depths of my heart, I thank my precious and most compassionate Guru once again.

I agreed with Grace Leong on the comment “many of these “events” were not publicised or known, except for those who work very closely to assist Rinpoche.”

Tsem Rinpoche does not need to show off his clairvoyant “skills” and those who worked closely around him will know from their own experience or have seen him in action. Tsem Rinpoche truly embodies all the qualities of a true Bodhisattva.

Thank you Seng Piow for reminding us the kindness of our Guru. It is so important to remember these good virtues, as very often our minds choose to remember only the perceived negative ones and forget to be grateful for the simple but most meaningful acts of kindness and compassion.Especially during these moments of loss and helplessness.

Many people have benefitted from Rinpoche’s visits to the hospital or to the funerals of our dear ones, to give teachings and blessings. But many of these “events” were not publicised or known, except for those who work very closely to assist Rinpoche.
Thank you dear Rinpoche for your immense kindness and your consistent care, despite all the nonsense you receive from your students !

Thought that I would post the following which forms part of the modern Hippocratic Oath which many doctors take:

“I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon’s knife or the chemist’s drug.”

  56. Sheryl KH(JB) on Sep 19, 2013 at 9:10 am

Rinpoche is always so caring towards ppl around Him, whether or not He knows them personally or not.

It is amazing that despite His busy schedules, he still draws time out to visit those who are in need.

We are truly blessed to have Tsem Tulku Rinpoche here in Malaysia.

Buddhism is one of the most ancient belief systems and is practiced today by nearly 350 million people around the world.
Bettany Mary Hughes is an English historian, author, and broadcaster, specialising in classical history. Bettany Hughes travelled to the seven wonders of the Buddhist world. Where she documented a unique insight into the seven wonders that explained the long and rich history of Buddhism 2500 years ago . Truly fascinating documentary that’s one should watch. Started off her journey with Bodh Gaya in India, the Bodanath Stupa in Nepal, the Temple of The Tooth in Sri Lanka, Wat Pho Temple in Thailand, Angkor Wat in Cambodia, the Giant Buddha in Hong Kong and the Hsi Lai Temple in the United States. At each location, she meets with Buddhist scholars who explain the different concepts that form the core of Buddhist philosophy, giving insight into the long and rich history of Buddhism. Interesting sharing.
    Thank you Rinpoche.

Religious discrimination remains a significant issue globally, impacting various aspects of life. The Dorje Shugden controversy in Tibetan Buddhism involves accusations of religious discrimination against devotees of the Poweful Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden. Dorje Shugden was a powerful Protector associated with the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. H H the Dalai Lama previously practice Dorje Shugden’s practice but somehow later discouraged the practice, citing concerns about sectarianism ,its perceived role as a spirit. Dorje Shugden’s practitioners have reported feeling ostracized and discriminated against by the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) and those supporting the Dalai Lama. The controversy has divided the Tibetan community and has been a source of contention and tension. CTA had breached the rights of every Dorje Shugden practitioners to what they pray . Many families are torn apart by this. Dorje Shugden people had to break away from their monasteries .Religious freedom and human rights are interconnected. Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion regardless of race and faith. Religious freedom is one of the most fundamental of human rights. The discrimination that Dorje Shugden practitioners are experiencing today has similarities to other historic bigotry and prejudices such example was the African American Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s,and the Women’s Suffrage Movement. Racism affects virtually every country in the world. It denies people their full human rights just because of their colour, race, ethnicity, descent or national origin. The most prevalent discrimination that we see today are national origin and race discrimination. May there be peace, unity, harmony and based on compassion, acceptance and universal freedom of religious choice without discrimination or recriminations of any kind.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

The Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Kerala, India is said to be thousands of years old, built in the Dravidian style, and houses more secrets than most people can ever dream of. That’s interesting. This temple is a legendary secret chamber that has remained unopened for centuries. Legends and local beliefs it is protected by powerful deities and a curse. The door is said to be sealed with a mystical spell, and it is believed that anyone attempting to open it without proper rituals will face grave consequences, having met with mysterious deaths or terrible misfortune. Locals had warns that attempting to open Vault B without proper rituals and respect for the deities could unleash untold calamities and misfortune. Stories abound of previous attempts to open the vault had failed that resulted in terrifying visions and other supernatural occurrences, and tragic fates for those involved. Some believe that the vault contained ancient treasures , wealth and divine relics . Previously temple workers reportedly tried to force open the door, resulting in the terrifying experiences described in legends. It’s not just a place of worship but also a vault of mysteries. Modern attempts using technology have also failed to open the door, as if some force is protecting it. Every attempt to open Vault B has failed. The door remains closed, and no one know of the contents within, whether wealth, divine relics, or something else entirely, are unknown to the world . No one dare to try opening it since at least the 1880s recording to reports. Interesting article .

Revisit this interesting truth where not many people knew the actual story behind . With great effort and research finally the story unfolded. In Tibet, Oracles play, an important part in principal roles assisting governmental decision-making and providing intelligence revelation, religion, doctrine, and prophecy. To this day the Tibetan government still believe and rely in Nechung Oracle. When Nechung oracle took trance, it is actually spirit Nyatrul who has causes problems and misprophecies. Nechung is bound by oath to protect the Dharma. Nechung prophecies are unreliable, most probably given by Nyatrul spirit to the Tibetan government. Such as wrong medication given to the 13 th Dalai Lama as prescribed by the Nechung Oracle. Another misprophecies was during the British invasion. If it was really Nechung who took trance of the Oracle, these types of misprophecies would not have happen. As mentioned in the 6th Dalai Lama biography, we cannot trust or rely on Nechung’s prophecies. It was said that Nyatrul not Nechung who created the problems and harm to Dorje Shugden . It must have told HH the Dalai Lama to ban Dorje Shugden .
Thank you Rinpoche and Pastor Jean Ai for this interesting article.

In Tibetan Buddhism, water offerings, particularly the seven or eight bowls offering, are a common practice used to express gratitude, cultivate merit, and purify the mind. The seven bowls represent essential aspects of offerings and can be offered daily, along with other items like flowers, incense, and lamps. Water offerings are probably the most common offering made in Tibetan Buddhism. Offering any item of value to the three jewels is the antidote to greed and attachment and helps to cultivate generosity. It is a powerful practice that can help us develop positive qualities such as generosity, devotion, and selflessness. By making water offering, we are creating good karma for ourselves and all sentient beings in the future. Great explanations and teachings all about water offerings.

H.H. Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche (1878–1941), also known as Dechen Nyingpo Jampa Tenzin Trinlay Gyatso, was one of the great lamas of the twentieth century. was a highly influential teacher in Tibet and a prominent lama in the 20th century. He was the root guru of the present Dalai Lama’s tutors and many other Tibetan lamas who brought the Dharma to the West. His teachings, particularly his book “Liberation in the Palm of Your Hand,” are significant in the Gelugpa tradition until this days.He was the root guru of the present Dalai Lama’s tutors, Kyabje Ling Rinpoche and Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche, and a teacher to many other Gelug lamas who fled Tibet. He had brought the Dharma to the West after 1959. His teachings covered various aspects of the Tibetan Buddhist path, including the seven-point mind training and the stages of the path to enlightenment. Rinpoche’s teachings are so famous that thousands of people would come from far and wide to attend. He was an extraordinary master for the Heruka Body Mandala and the Vajrayogini practice. Wow ……one of the many famous stories been told of how Heruka actually appeared to Pabongka when he visited Cimburi in Tibet and how Heruka image spoke to him. Interesting biography of a great master of all times.

The practice of Sangha in Buddhism involves building and cultivating a supportive community of practitioners who engage in shared spiritual practice, often focusing on mindfulness and concentration. This community provides mutual support, guidance, and encouragement on the path of self-discovery. The Sangha is not just a gathering of people; it’s a collective energy of mindfulness and compassion that benefits all members. It provides a supportive environment for individuals on their spiritual journey, offering guidance, encouragement, and a sense of belonging. Sharing experiences and insights within the Sangha can accelerate the learning process.
Thank you Thich Nhat Hanh for sharing and explaining all about the insight of sangha. Great sharing .

Wat Rong Khun better known as the White Temple, is a Buddhist temple in Chiang Rai province, Thailand. The gold symbolizes how people focus on worldly desires and money. The white building represents the idea to make merit and to focus on the mind. It is owned by a succesful Thai businessman who opened it to visitors in 1997. Awesome….This temple stands out through the white colour and use of pieces of glass that sparkle in the sun. The white colour signifies the purity of Buddha while the glass symbolizes Buddha’s wisdom. Located 3 hour drive from Chiang Mai built to honour and pay tribute to sacred Buddhist figures. Over time, temples grew in prominence and is one of the famous temples to visit in Thailand. I have visited years back its simple stunning temple which truly love the design and architecture .

Sak Yant, a traditional Thai tattooing practice, involves sacred geometrical and animal designs. Its often accompanied by Pali phrases, and is believed to offer power, protection, charisma, and other benefits to the wearer. Sak Yant tattoos are deeply rooted in Buddhist and spiritual beliefs, with each design and symbol carrying specific meanings and purported powers. Many designs are believed to provide protection against evil spirits, misfortune, and danger. Sak Yant tattoos are traditionally applied by monks or masters using a needle and ink, and the process is often accompanied by chants and blessings. I personally have not seen one yet . Sound interesting.

With her visit hopefully more people will get to know more of our Kechara . She had made a video with and Pastor David Lai all about Buddhist Arts. She openly admitted interested in Buddhist art . Buddhist art pieces have given her home a contemporary edge. Art was important to Buddhist religious life. It was not only part of ritual and worship but also served to transmit religious ideas, and artistic styles between cultures. Do agree with her statement ,…..if you want to change your life, change the way you think, because everything begins with you.”

n their theoretical model, rudeness has this impact on our ability to think because it engenders negative sadness, anger. Researchers have found that common negative behaviours can spread easily and have significant consequences. The best way to avoid rude people is to meet their acts of rudeness with kindness. Exposure to neurotoxins in society is not new. Children today are raised in an environment that is much different from those days. Nowadays they are exposed to behaviours, profane language, hostilities and stress from which we adults, raised a generation ago. Studies have shown that children exposed to serious psychological trauma during childhood are at risk of suffering increased psychiatric disorders. Interesting read.

Revisit this blog again . Reading comments in this blog Rich people have substantial assets and income, providing a sense of security and freedom from financial worries. Owning high-end cars, designer clothing and everything they want with their money. Rich people often have more time for leisure, hobbies, and travel, allowing them to pursue interests and experiences. They may live in large, luxurious homes and have or apartments, often in desirable locations and having personalized services. The fundamental difference in mindset between the rich and the poor is, the rich have understood a very simple principle money makes money. Rich people see money as an opportunity, while poor people see it as something to be earned. Poor people work hard for their money. It is the heart that makes a man rich. He is rich according to what he is, not according to what he has. Not he who has much is rich, but he who gives much. The primary difference between rich people and poor people is how they handle their wealth. My thought been rich in this world it is not what we take up, but what we give up, that makes us rich.

Found this old post …disturbing. Having a name especially a Bar linked to Buddha to be disrespectful towards Buddhism. After much controversy the owner had it removed. The Buddha Bar located in Sabah by a young owner which opened without much thought had many people complaining. Later was forced to have its controversial name changed to ‘Peacock Garden’ and had apologised for the controversial name. As a devout Buddhist, the name ‘Buddha Bar’ which serves alcohol, is disrespectful to the revered Buddha.

Siberia, considered the heartland of shamanism inhabited by many different ethnic groups, and many of its peoples observe shamanistic. Many of the indigenous communities reclaiming their traditional spiritual and healing practices . Interesting. Siberian shamanism is often called Tengerism, involves various rituals, including drumming, chanting, trance states, and offerings to nature spirits and ancestors. This religious practice has deep roots in Siberia and Central Asia in recent years with roots in the Turkic and Mongolic cultures. Many who have been live in a remote part of Russia, have preserved their shamanic traditions due to their isolation. Many customs of Tengrism are still been practiced where they emphasizes a deep respect for nature and its various spirits, including those of the earth, water, and mountains. They do believe in the continued existence of souls and the importance of honouring their ancestors.
Thank you Rinpoche sharing this ancient religion.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
