Homage to the lineage masters H.H. Pabongka Rinpoche, H.H. Trijang Rinpoche and H.H. Zong Rinpoche

(By Tsem Rinpoche)

Dear treasured friends around the world,

When I first founded Kechara back in the year 2000, one of my wishes was to have a Dharma community… people who dedicate themselves to learning, practicing and teaching the Dharma. As Kechara grew, this need became even more urgent because physical growth must also be accompanied by the ability to explain and expound the dharma, as more and more people will need it. If the Dharma has survived for this long, it is because there have been teachers who committed themselves to preserving the knowledge, passing it on from one generation to another. In the case of Kechara in Malaysia, one person alone would never be able to meet the needs of hundreds of students, which is why I conceptualized the Pastors, who are wonderful individuals that dedicate their lives in service of others.

I have noticed that accurate information about Dorje Shugden’s practice and lineage is difficult to come by online. This is not surprising as due to unfortunate circumstances, the practice of this very beneficial deity has been muted in the last 20 years, which explains the lack of teachings available for the public online. So I thought we, in Kechara, should create videos to share and teach Dorje Shugden’s practice to others so that people from all around the world can learn about this beneficial practice. Dorje Shugden is not the only practice we do in Kechara, but it is a practice that has been passed on by my teachers to me, and I have in turn passed them on to my students.

I am very happy to see Kechara Pastors and senior students taking this opportunity to be involved in such a beneficial project, so that it can be made available to the public for free… and after many months of fundraising, pre-production, planning, filming, editing and post-production, I am very happy to share with you these professionally produced educational videos which cover a myriad of topics about Dorje Shugden including his history, lineage and practice.

I will be adding more videos over the next few weeks as they are released, so do return to check out the latest teachings. There will also be videos about Dorje Shugden in Chinese language which will be released on this post at a later date, so keep an eye out for those too!

It is my deepest hope and wish that these videos will enable more people to understand about Dorje Shugden, and for all misconceptions about his true nature to be cleared. I would like to thank everyone who contributed their time, effort, funds, prayers, etc. to this project, especially Ms. Han and her crew for being on set from morning to night shooting and spending countless hours editing the videos to perfection. I thank Beng Kooi the coordinator, the writers team, ladrang, speakers and sponsors. I am extremely happy about this project because I know it will bring tremendous benefit to many people around the world and into the distant future.

I wish everyone well, and may all of you gain great advancement in your spiritual practice. May all of us find hope, peace, kindness and finally enlightenment.

Sarva Mangalam.

Tsem Rinpoche

Why We Need Dharma Protectors

Dharma Protector practice is central to Vajrayana Buddhism and is the third of the Three Roots, which is a refuge formulation in Tibetan Buddhism. The other two are The Guru and The Yidam. The role of the Dharma Protector is to help the practitioner clear inner and outer obstacles and also to provide suitable conditions for the practitioner to conduct his practice with minimum distractions. Within Tibetan Buddhism, Dorje Shugden is the most recent Dharma Protector to arise, with the specific purpose of protecting Lama Tsongkhapa’s teaching on Emptiness, and he is regarded as a wrathful emanation of Manjushri.

The Benefits of Dorje Shugden’s Practice

The Protector Dorje Shugden is in fact the Wisdom Buddha Manjushri, emanating in a worldly form to help dharma practitioners in their practice. Being the most recent Dharma Protector to arise, and also by virtue of his taking on an earthly form, Dorje Shugden is naturally closest to us in karmic terms (strongest karmic affinity). As an emanation of Manjushri, Dorje Shugden’s practice also provides all the benefits related to Manjushri’s practice. Another added advantage of Dorje Shugden’s practice is that he emanates in five forms to specifically meet the various mental dispositions of individual practitioners and to help them with different types of enlightened activities.

Dorje Shugden’s Story: How and Why He Arose

An intricate tale of how Dorje Shugden arose as a Dharma Protector to protect Lama Tsongkhapa’s teachings on Emptiness. This historical account, based on the writings of H.H. Trijang Rinpoche, spans hundreds of years of Tibetan history. Starting with a chance encounter between the Dharma Protector Nechung and Lama Tsongkhapa’s main disciple, Duldzin Drakpa Gyaltsen, the tale culminates with a dramatic showdown during the time of the Great Fifth Dalai Lama and the rise of the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden.

Dorje Shugden’s Incarnation Lineage

Dorje Shugden’s incarnation lineage is a stellar list of scholar-saints and great Mahasiddhas, which extends all the way back to the Buddha Manjushri. These tales of Dorje Shugden’s previous lives reflect how Manjushri has arisen time and time again, lifetime after lifetime, to help dharma practitioners through his various emanation and capacities. The enlightened mind stream that is Dorje Shugden today is also the same mind stream of these indisputable lamas, pandits and Mahasiddhas. Thus, this incarnation lineage is clear evidence of Dorje Shugden’s enlightened nature of wisdom and compassion.

The Lineage of Dorje Shugden in Kechara

Kechara’s Dorje Shugden lineage is pure and unadulterated, and can be traced directly through an unbroken line of lineage masters all the way to Duldzin Drakpa Gyaltsen. Thus, the practice of Dorje Shugden within Kechara is ripe with the blessings of the lineage masters including Mahasiddha Tagphu Pemavajra, H.H. Pabongka Rinpoche, H.H. Trijang Rinpoche and H.H. Zong Rinpoche.

The Iconography of Dorje Shugden

The iconography of an enlightened being is a roadmap to enlightenment, communicating not only the function of the deity but also serves to invoke a certain awareness in the minds of practitioners. Therefore, every detail of a deity’s form, from their stance and posture to the implements they carry, their mounts, and their mudras are in fact teachings in themselves. Dorje Shugden’s iconography is no different and illustrates well the deity’s enlightened nature and how he helps practitioners overcome their outer, inner and secret obstacles.

The Mandala of Dorje Shugden

The thirty-two deities of Guhyasamaja’s mandala are represented in the mandala of Dorje Shugden, and each of these beings is an emanation of Dorje Shugden himself. This introduction to the various deities of Dorje Shugden’s mandala illustrates the many ways in which he can assist us, through the Five Families of Dorje Shugden as well as through his entourage – the Nine Mothers, the Eight Guiding Monks and the Ten Youthful and Wrathful Deities.

The Relationship Between Dorje Shugden & Setrap

Dorje Shugden’s close relationship with the Dharma Protector Setrap Chen is historically significant. Not only did Dorje Shugden’s line of previous incarnations, including Tulku Drakpa Gyaltsen, propitiate Dharmapala Setrap, it was also one of Dorje Shugden’s past incarnations, Lotsawa Loden Sherab, who brought the practice of Setrap from India into the Tibetan pantheon of deities. The close association between these two enlightened Dharma Protectors can also be seen in the story of how Dorje Shugden arose, as well as within the depiction of Dorje Shugden’s mandala.

Dorje Shugden and The Tradition of Oracles

Oracles are intermediaries between the deities and humans, and are the channel through which the deity speaks, gives advice, heals, teaches (in the case of Dorje Shugden) and has communion with lamas and practitioners. Dorje Shugden oracles play an important role in Tibetan Buddhism from recognizing incarnations of highly important lamas to giving advice in critical situations, for instance when helping the present Dalai Lama escape from Tibet in 1959 against very difficult odds.

The altar is also a field of merit through which the practitioner can accumulate merits through the act of cleaning and making offerings. This introductory video is a guide to setting up various types of altars according to the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, from the simplest to the most extensive.

Like human beings, there are benevolent as well as malevolent spirits, and malicious spirits may attach themselves to people through various methods including black magic. Tibetan Buddhism offers a number of practices that can combat against black magic and spirit harm, and one such practice is that of Dorje Shugden Trakze.

As Dorje Shugden is an emanation of Manjushri, the benefits of this Protector retreat also include clarity of mind, improved memory and a faster comprehension and absorption of the Dharma.

    Dear friends,

Tibet has produced many powerful meditations, rituals and guidelines to help us gain spiritual protection, gain wisdom and higher states of consciousness. In general Tibet has produced many powerful methods for the growth of our spiritual evolution. Dorje Shugden is an angel, a saint, a powerful spiritual protector-warrior who originated 350 years ago when a highly awakened Tibetan Lama fulfilled his vows to become a special being to grant protection, wisdom, material needs, safety when travelling (normal and astral travel) and spiritual awakening. Both the Great 5th Dalai Lama and the current His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama composed short yet effective prayers to invoke upon the power and blessings of this special saint and protector. One can recite either one of the prayers that you feel suits you, anytime or even daily. When you feel a special need for help, you can recite either prayer anytime. When you are feeling down, afraid or just need a blessing, you can recite them. After reciting either invocation, it is good to chant the mantra of Dorje Shugden: Om Benza Wiki Bitana Soha.

You do not have to be a Buddhist or practitioner of any religion to invoke upon the blessings and protection of this special enlightened and awakened angel Dorje Shugden. He helps all without discrimination or bias as he is filled with compassion and love. Divinity has no boundaries, they help all who call upon them.

Enclosed are the prayers in English, Chinese and Tibetan.

May you be safe, protected and blessed.

Divination (‘mo’) Text by Dorje Shugden

This is an important divination (‘mo’) text composed by Dorje Shugden himself. Dorje Shugden took trance of the Choyang Dulzin oracle lama, the senior oracle of Gaden Shartse Monastery, and instantly on the spot composed this text within two hours.

The divination text contains information on how to use dice to do divination for the future and is known to be highly accurate. When practitioners use this text, they will be in direct contact with Dorje Shugden to get answers to questions about the future. It is for those who have good samaya with Dorje Shugden and are free of the eight worldly dharmas to be of benefit to others in divining the future.

A Daily Request for Wealth, Peace and Protection

    Composed by H.E. Tsem Rinpoche

In the heavens there are myriad manifestations of the divine. All those manifestations specifically show us different aspects of divinity in order to be of benefit to all living beings. All the rupakaya forms of the divine have compassion, skillful means and wisdom. We invoke upon them whether we are happy, sad, down, lost, fulfilled, confused, empty, and during the whole range of emotions we constantly experience due to an untrained mind.

Understanding our nature, Great Wisdom Being Dorje Shugden, therefore all the more so, please hold us close to your bosom as an only child to a parent.

Though the manifestations of the divine need no offerings and gifts from us, we offer you supreme Manjushri Dorje Shugden a libation of tea, incense and mantras, in order to ask you to bless us, to be a part of our lives, to abide in our dwellings and to give us signs, omens and portents of both good and bad. When the negative arises, quell them immediately. Please increase the positive for my weary and worn mind as I lay my hopes in you.

When difficulties, problems and confusion arise, we ask you, who is but the culmination of all that is powerful, holy and omniscient to bless myself, family, loved ones, environment and even my pets. May I see wisdom, find hope, and be at peace.

I request you, O Divine Bhagavān Dorje Shugden, who wears a round dome hat and the three robes of a saffroned bhikshu, who wields a sword of liberty, justice and wisdom and clutches a wish-fulfilling jewel, who rides on a supreme lion of subjugation of all that is negative, to fulfill my wishes. I understand my wishes may not be the best, so I surrender to your wisdom for the outcome though it may not be what I have in mind. Please bless myself and everyone that we may enter into the supreme city of liberation.

Great Bhagavān Dorje Shugden, I request you sincerely from my heart to be a part of my life, bless my home, and grant me wisdom, solace and comfort, that I might be of service to others without agenda, and that I may focus out onto others and not be fixated on myself, creating more problems for all that I hold dear.

Bless me to become kinder, wiser, more compassionate, tolerant and very forgiving to all those who hurt and love me. In order to become close to you, Dorje Shugden, we must surrender the banal. We must abandon fixed views, projections and rigidity. Lastly, in my final moment when I leave this plane of existence, only the positive actions I have done will matter as everything and everyone will be left behind. Let me realise this and act upon this now! At this crucial moment, please may I have a vision of yourself, the powerful and merciful Dorje Shugden, to take me to where I may course in the sky to continue my journey of spiritual waxing.

I offer you saffron-coloured tea and my faith to fulfill my prayers and gain siddhis. By reciting your mantra, may healing, peace, love, long life, protection and perfect view of sunyata arise.

Mantra of fulfillment, peace and wisdom:

    OM BENZA WIKI BITANA SOHA

(It is good to recite this mantra daily as much as you like or your timing allows.)

I dedicate this supreme heartfelt prayer to the all-knowing Celestial and Supreme Protector Dorje Shugden, that I may quickly become a being of light, compassion, love and enlightenment.

Please play the audio included here to follow along with the prayer.

For the first time available, Dorje Shugden and his entourage of 32 asssistants of his mandala.

Dorje Shugden is a powerful protector deity who is also an emanation of Manjushri, a wisdom bestowing Buddha. Therefore, he has great ability to help us to progress further on the spiritual path. He does this by helping us to overcome obstacles and problems for the modern individual.

Due to his enlightened nature, Dorje Shugden is able to manifest 32 deities and within the same abode resides Setrap and Kache Marpo:-

    1. 5 Dorje Shugden families or emanations. They consists of the following:-

    – Dulzin Dorje Shugden, which performs activities to eliminate inner and outer obstacles.
    – Shize, which performs activities to pacify all illnesses and disease.
    – Gyenze, which performs activities to increase all desirable material and spiritual wealth.
    – Wangze, which performs activities to control difficult people and circumstances.
    – Trakze, which performs activities to wrathfully eliminate all insurmountable obstacles and life-threatening situations.

    2. 9 Mothers. They represent protection of the five senses and developing control of the four elements. These are all attributes that signify their ability to assist tantric practitioners with their higher meditations.

    3. 8 Guiding Monks. They represent the Eight Great Bodhisattvas (Avalokitesvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Samantabhadra, Maitreya, Kshitigarbha, Akashagarbha, Sarva-nivarana-viskambini) and they bring about the growth of the Dharma, through the Sangha, Dharma practitioners and Dharma establishments.

    4. 10 Youthful & Wrathful Attendants. They represent the ten wrathful attendants to avert inner and outer obstacles. They are beings who are from Mongolia, China, Kashmir, India, Bengali, etc.

    5. Setrap. He is a senior Dharma Protector from India and an emanation of Amitabha Buddha. He had enthroned Dorje Shugden as an authentic Dharma Protector. Therefore, he also resides within the same mandala of Dorje Shugden.

    6. Kache Marpo. He is not an emanation of Dorje Shugden but he is still an enlightened Dharma Protector in his own right. He was originally known as Tsiu Marpo of Samye Monastery. However, he has placed himself under the service of Dorje Shugden as his chief minister, performing many activities in order to protect and benefit practitioners. Therefore, he stands guard at the main entrance of Dorje Shugden’s mandala. He often takes trance of qualified mediums to speak.

    7. Namkar Barzin. He is the reincarnation of an old Mongolian monk and when he passed away in Phari area of Tibet, his spirit was placed as a powerful assistant of Dorje Shugden. He guards and protects buildings and great institutions especially those that benefit others. He rides on a mythical Gyaling animal that resembles a goat but with scales.

These sacred images are available on *Vajrasecrets. They are made of high quality alloy and are one of a kind. They are based on the lineage of His Holiness Panchen Rinpoche’s monastery, Tashilhunpo in Shigatse, Tibet. In fact, the iconography of these statues are based on detailed photographs taken by H. E. Tsem Rinpoche during a trip to Tashilhunpo’s protector chapel. These are based exactly as the 10th Panchen Lama’s personal collection.

His Holiness the 10th Panchen Lama

Tibetans commonly refer to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama as the “sun and moon” of Tibetan Buddhism. They are the center of Tibetan Buddhist civilization, which draws to its sphere of influence millions of non-Tibetan practitioners. The Panchen Lama’s incarnation line began with the 16th abbot of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen (1570 – 1662). He was bestowed the title of Panchen Lama by His Holiness the 5th Dalai Lama after being declared as an emanation of Amitabha.

After being given the title, his three previous incarnations were posthumously also bestowed the title, making Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen the 4th Panchen Lama. He became a teacher to many Tibetans, Bhutanese and Mongolian religious figures, including His Holiness the 4th and 5th Dalai Lamas, and the 1st Jetsun Dampa of Mongolia. A prolific author, Chokyi Gyeltsen is credited with over a hundred compositions, including a number of commentaries and ritual texts that remain central in the Gelukpa tradition today. Along with his role as a teacher of the Dharma, the Panchen Lamas are usually responsible for the recognition of the rebirths of the Dalai Lamas, and vice versa.

The 10th Panchen Lama, Lobsang Trinley Lhundrub Chokyi Gyeltsen (19 February 1938 – 28 January 1989) continued both the spiritual and political roles of his predecessors. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, his contemporary, was even heard to say and echo the Panchen Lama’s own words that the Dalai Lama would safeguard Tibet from the outside while the Panchen Lama would safeguard Tibet from the inside, as he never left Tibet after the political troubles of 1959. He was truly loved by the Tibetans, all the way until his passing. When he taught, thousands of people would attend, not only from his own Gelug lineage, but masters and practitioners from all traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.

At his sprawling monastery of Tashi Lhunpo, he has a special chapel specifically dedicated to Dorje Shugden, where prayers and rituals are performed on a daily basis. In his great omniscience the Panchen Lama held Dorje Shugden as the principal Dharma protector of the monastery. He also personally propitiated Dorje Shugden among other Dharma protectors, and even wrote extensive prayers and rituals to Dorje Shugden. These rituals and prayers are contained within his ‘sung bum’ or collected works, which are provided here. As such a great lama, with an erudite and clear understanding of the Buddhist scriptures, a teacher to millions in both Tibet and China, from an established incarnation line and an emanation of the Buddha Amitabha, he could not be mistaken about his practice of Dorje Shugden.

His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama is known for his composition of commentaries and practice texts that are still in use by contemporary Buddhist practitioners both in Tibet and across the world. One of these is a powerful ritual composition propitiating the compassionate Dorje Shugden.

Upon the request by Acharya Lobsang Jangchub to compose a shorter version of the prayer (sadhana) for the exhortation of activities of Dorje Shugden, Panchen Lama immediately composed an abbreviate form of Dorje Shugden’s Kangsol. This text is entitled “Manjunatha’s (Tsongkapa) Lineage protector Dorje Shugden and five forms wrathful propitiations and confessional prayers and fulfilment of activities rites” or “Melodious sound of Accomplishment of the Four Activities” for short. Once the prayers were completed, he had signs and strong feelings that Dorje Shugden has been working hard to protect the Buddhadharma in general and the lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa specifically.

Mirroring the abilities of one of his earlier incarnations, Khedrub Je, a disciple of Lama Tsongkhapa and master of both sutra and tantra, the Panchen Lama used his compositional skill and poetic prowess to create a masterful sadhana. Worthy of note is a praise in which the first letter of each verse is a Tibetan vowel. Such compositions are rarely seen, and have historically only been used when propitiating senior Dharma protectors such as Palden Lhamo and Kalarupa.

The Panchen Lama also stated that while composing the Dorje Shugden sadhana (prayers) he was filled with a sense of happiness and bliss. He ends the composition with not only his official title but his ordination name, Tenzin Trinley Jigme Choje Wangchuk, endorsing the validity of his work. He composed the sadhana in his own Tashi Lhunpo monastery while in the Hall of Clear Light and Bliss.

“If the Dalai Lama, if His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by Dorje Shugden, then we might as well not practice Buddhism anymore. If His Holiness the Dalai Lama can have his life shortened by a so-called evil spirit, any evil spirit, then can he be Avalokiteshvara? So on one hand you say, we say, I say, everybody says, he is Avalokiteshvara; on the other hand you’re saying that he can be harmed by an evil spirit… Which one is it? Can he be harmed by an evil spirit or is he Avalokiteshvara? Do you think Avalokiteshvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Tara all take refuge in something else to protect themselves from Dorje Shugden? How illogical is that? How illogical of people to say His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by an evil spirit, any evil spirit or “Dorje Shugden” evil spirit. How is that possible?” – Tsem Tulku Rinpoche

This video condensed and made simple the history of the Dorje Shugden ban and the sufferings Dorje Shugden people experienced and continue to experience for 20 years. The video also laid out and reveal the truth and facts that Dorje Shugden was the Protector who advised His Holiness the Dalai Lama to flee to India and hence His Holiness’ life is saved. There is no religious freedom for the Dorje Shugden people worldwide because of the Dorje Shugden ban executed by the Central Tibetan Administration. We are, until today being discriminated and persecuted for simply practising our choice of religion and this is the truth.

Central Tibetan Administation (CTA) is mixing politics and religion. When politics is mixed with religion it is a strategy. In demonising Dorje Shugden the whole idea is to divert its failure in the Tibetan cause of bringing their people back to their homeland.

By instituting a ban on Dorje Shugden, CTA is violating its democratic principle to protect its people against religious freedom. Dorje Shugden people have had endured 20 years of pain and suffering in this discrimination and segregation. This ostracism is so inhumane.

Please lift the ban now CTA.

_(*)_thank you *Rinpoche. As a ‘Christian’, have always faithfully accepted *Jesus as my protector, the reason was, as a child, was taught in Sunday school about *this remarkable being’s teachings, actions and words. As i grew older Church, was where i would ‘hang-out’, trying desperately to further my knowledge of this great man. To no avail, just mundane sermons, repeated over and over again. Then, in 2009,aged 60, had the *great good fortune of being introduced by my then 34 year old daughter, to Kadampa Buddhism under *Geshle Kelsang Gyatso. It was a *revelation, 35 years of being in the ‘vacant wilderness of the teachings on ‘life/faith/death,’ left me in no doubt whatsoever, that i had ‘found the long last pure teachings’. That year was also the *Dorje Shugden empowerment, regretfully, was unable to attend 2nd week, however, i came away with 7 images, powerfully in mind. Of those, *Dorje Shugden’s would remain strong. I saw *him as the setting of each day’s golden sun, knowing, *He and *Jesus, were one and the same, (for me at least). Then lived in South, Devon, now, North in Scotland attending many Kadampa Centre teachings and this month, aged 68, have finally received *Dorje Shugden empowerment. I still love and miss His Holiness the Dalai Lama. I am hoping he will unite all of us no matter what our religion is. I know he will. His Holiness has done so much good in the world. I’ve admired him since I was a very young boy and when I met him for the first time in 1979. He came to Howell, New Jersey where I grew up. It was magical to see him. I pray one day he will accept all Dorje Shugden practitioners as was his root guru was a Dorje Shugden practitioner and invite us into his presence again with love and acceptance. I pray for his long life and continued presence in this world. I never lost hope in His Holiness the Dalai Lama to accept all of us regardless of race, religion, sect and background once again.

This is a powerful picture of Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen, Kensur Kyabje Lati Rinpoche and the current incarnation of Trijang Rinpoche meeting together in the year 2000 when Trijang Rinpoche was 18. All three lamas are Dorje Shugden practitioners. In fact Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen was the one that first encouraged my practice of Dorje Shugden when I was 16 years old when I joined his beautiful Thubten Dhargye Ling centre in Los Angeles. I lived with Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen for 8 years before proceeding to Gaden Monastery in South India. Later Kyabje Zong Rinpoche came to our Los Angeles centre and granted sogtae (permission ceremony) to practice Dorje Shugden for life as requested by Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen. Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen had tremendous faith in Trijang Rinpoche. Kyabje Lati Rinpoche was innovative, dedicated and very much focused on bringing dharma to many. He had tremendous faith in Dorje Shugden as I had the honour to meet him many times. He would seek advice from Dorje Shugden many times via the oracle of Gaden Monastery. Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen and Kensur Kyabje Lati Rinpoche have since passed away while the current Trijang Rinpoche is a perfect lineage holder and practitioner of Dharma while he keeps Dorje Shugden as his personal protector as he has done so for many lifetimes. This is a powerful and beautiful picture of three great lamas of Buddha’s lineage and also of Gaden Monastery.

Dorje Shugden has been maligned and demonized by the Tibetan leaderships’s smear campaigns for 20 years. However, when some one actually looks into the allegations against the Protector and examine what the practice is all about, they see the goodness of Dorje Shugden clearly. This comment by ‘Suzy in Hawaii’ is yet another indication that despite all efforts, the anti-Shugden offensive has failed. . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vl-4lIwxph4&t=11s

These videos are the most educational videos on Dorje Shudgen ever. It is evident that many effort, research and hardwork had been put in to produce these videos for us to listen to it / watch it at the comfort of our home (or office). The videos cover basic topics such as the need to have Dharma Protector, the benefits of Dorje Shugden’s practice to the more scholarly topics e.g. the Lineage, Iconography and Mandala of Dorje Shugden. Some of the videos also bring light to certain controversial and sensitive topics on Dorje Shugden practice, i.e. the ban. Thank you so much, Rinpoche and Kechara.

Trode Khangsar Chapel in Lhasa, Tibet

Over 400 years ago a great and learned lama Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was famed in Mongolia, Tibet, Nepal and China for being very saintly and compassionate. He resided in his residence (Zimkhang Gongma Ladrang) in Drepung Monastery. His root guru was H.H. the Omniscient 4th Panchen Lama and his close dharma brother was the 5th Dalai Lama.

The 5th Dalai Lama and Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen had a very close and dharmic relationship and often went to receive teachings together from the 4th Panchen Lama. They were close in age. They both became very learned and well known. During this time, the Dalai Lama was enthroned as a Dharma King of Tibet. But more people went to see Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen for teachings, initiations and divinations. This made the attendants of the 5th Dalai Lama feel threatened that Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s fame might usurp the power of the 5th Dalai Lama. So they had a khata forced down his throat. At that moment, Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen dissolved his psychic winds and generated the wish to be a great guardian of Buddha and Tsongkapa’s teachings. As his consciousness dissolved, he entered ‘bardo’ as a dharma protector of the highest order (jikten depey sungma). Many signs were seen throughout Lhasa at this time and the earth was said to have shaken in Lhasa. This event was already predicted to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s previous incarnation when he was one of the 8 main disciples of Lord Tsongkapa the Supreme Master and he served Tsongkapa directly by building Gaden Monastery.

When the 5th Dalai Lama heard what his scheming and power-hungry attendants had done, he was very distressed. He was very sorry Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was murdered and dishonored as he was a great dharma master. The 5th Dalai Lama composed an apology to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen. In Lhasa, tens of thousands gathered for the cremation of Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s holy body. During the cremation, the 5th Dalai Lama’s apology was read out at which flames spontaneously arose from the body of Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen commencing the cremation. From the body, during cremation, a powerful whirlwind of smoke tunneled into the sky for all to see as this was an indication Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s consciousness has arisen as the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden. The Dharma Protector Setrap immediately recognized this new protector Dorje Shugden and ‘enthroned’ him as a powerful Dharma Protector in the realm of the Buddhas. From this, Setrap and Dorje Shugden are closely connected and very close working hand in hand always. After the cremation, the great 5th Dalai Lama built a Dorje Shugden chapel on the spot the cremation took place and named it Trode Khangsar. The 5th Dalai Lama commissioned the statue of Dorje Shugden in this chapel and had monks installed in the chapel to do continuous propitiations to Dorje Shugden. Trode Khangsar Chapel was a commemoration to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen who was wronged and also a celebration of his consciousness arising as the World Peace Peace Protector Dorje Shugden.

This Trode Khangsar Chapel still exists now in Lhasa where many make pilgrimages there. It is in good condition and was recently renovated. It is over 400 years old and a testimony to the respect the Great 5th Dalai Lama had to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen who arose as Dorje Shugden.

I have visited this holy chapel in Lhasa years back. I’ve never heard of it till I was in Lhasa and by chance, I was told about it which I was happy to visit. I could not find the place but strangely a bunch of pilgrims from Amdo told me they would show me how to get there in Lhasa.

This short video is a short clip of this holy Trode Khangsar Chapel in Lhasa today commemorating Dorje Shugden, built by the great 5th Dalai Lama. The great 5th Dalai Lama even composed a prayer to Dorje Shugden which is still available today and we can recite to invoke the blessings, protection, and assistance of World Peace Protector Dorje Shugden.

I invite you with faith, please come to this place!

Samaya substances, offerings and torma, outer, inner and secret,
Favourite visual offerings and various objects are arranged.
Although, previously, my wishes were a bit dense,
Do not stop your powerful apparitions, I reveal and confess!

Now respectfully praising with body, speech, and mind,

Dorje shugden is in kechara very pure lineage….
Sources from high lamas lineage come to us…..

    Thank you martin chaula ……

The lineage of Dorje Shugden in Kechara is very wondrous and very pure lineage come to us. sources form the early nineteenth century give the incarnations of many high lamas. as Takpu Pema Vajra visited into tushita front of je tsongkhapa and “he received lifetime entrustment (sotey) from Dorje Shugden as dorje shugden image appeared from Je Tsongkhapa’s throne”. but i also heard that Takpu Pema Vajra received lifetime entrustment (sotey) directly from Dulzin Dakpa Gyaltsen and indirectly from Je Tsongkhapa during visited in Tushita.
so can you please give me some explanation on this part? Thank you Martin la

    Dear pastor lim tat ming….
Today i watched your video….. it was really really good ……but i have a doubt ….let me ask you ….you said as a tulku dakpa gyaltsen was murdered thats way he become a spirit ..but why the animal are suffring when he died..its not his way to make suffer human being ..because he alreasy arose be the protector when he pass away then after many people and monks got suffered.
    thank you

    • Pastor Shin Tan on Sep 10, 2016 at 6:25 pm

      Dear Nyima-la,
It is said that when Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen passed away, crops failed, many animals died and monasteries lost great sponsors and patrons. Great calamities such as earthquakes and disease epidemics enveloped the land. These arose because the negative karma of killing such a highly attained Lama was very heavy and had caused these negative events. It is not because Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen made these animals suffer. Murdering Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen is similar to ‘drawing blood from a Buddha with the intent to do harm’, and so this is very heavy negative karma.

    [[ABOUT VIDEO #2]]
Thank you Pastor David for your clear explanation of the benefits of Dorje Shugden. When we understand the results of relying on Dharma protector practice, it helps us to understand why we should promote the practice to others. It also helps to strengthen our own faith in the practice, because we know what kind of beneficial result we will receive if we persist and are consistent in our practice.

The scope of assistance that Dorje Shugden can provide is all-encompassing to the existence of sentient beings. This only reflects his nature as a Buddha, who is limitless in his compassion and ability to benefit others.

  45. Pastor Elena Khong Jean Ai on Sep 4, 2016 at 10:27 pm

    [[ABOUT VIDEO #1]]
Dear Wai Meng, I found your video very interesting because it showed that there is a long history of Dharma protector propitiation stemming all the way back from India. As I understand it, all Buddhist traditions in Tibet can be traced back to their origins in India and with Dharma protectors, this is no different.

I also found it useful that you distinguished between unenlightened and enlightened Protectors. It helps people to understand the benefits of relying on enlightened Protectors, and the disbenefits of relying on unenlightened ones since there is a very strong culture of relying on land deities and other unenlightened beings in Chinese culture.

These videos are very informative and educational. Education is important to eradicating ignorance. There are so much negative allegations and accusation of the practice of Dorje Shugden that it has become an issue of religious discrimination that affects many peoples’ lives.

Regardless, for the sake of many who are not aware of the facts and teachings of Dorje Shugden, I am so happy for our pastors, dharma brothers and sisters for producing these videos to talk about Dorje Shugden. There is so much evidence to prove that Dorje Shugden is not harmful to anyone and that many negative allegations against Dorje Shugden are so illogical that they negate the fundamental teachings of Buddhism.

Sad to say, pro-Dalai Lama people seem to turn a blind eye on all these illogical allegations and just jump to conclusion that the practice creates many problems and is harmful to everyone. What’s ironic is that these pro-Dalai Lama people are the ones who are creating sufferings on to others and more problems for Tibetans and Tibetan refugees.

Comments below are on the video “Kawang Prayers to Dorje Shugden” by Pastor Jean Ai

In the introduction on what is Kawang, it is mentioned that this is a confessional prayer and also one for clearing obstacles. What has confession got to do with the clearing of obstacles? If tell someone I have some obstacles to overcome and the advise is I need to make a confession, I would go “huh, what do you mean?”.

It is stated that Kawang also known as Kanshag is recited as a confessional practice to purify significant accumulated negative karma threatening to obstruct one’s practice.

Our karma is of our own making. There is a need to acknowledge this that we do not blame the situation we are in on others but take responsibility from it. Confession is a form of accepting responsibility. Acknowledgment and acceptance of responsibility is the start of change. If our past actions created negative karma, our current actions can also create positive karma or purify the negative karma we have created. The practice helps us expedite this process because the object of focus is pure and true.

If th negative karma we have accumulated over many lifetimes is forceful, the practice to counter is has to be equally intense. This is simple logic. If you accidentally bumped into someone while walking, you say “sorry” it’s usually sufficient. If you drunk drive and killed someone in a car accident, a simple “sorry” will not suffice.

The more we let our negatuve karma accumulate the harder it gets. It doesn’t get easier. We can try to escape and hide from it or delude ourselves that it will just go away but it doesn’t. Our karma will follow us like a shadow from lifetime to lifetime. We have the fortune in this life now to be hear and be given the practice to counter our negative karma. Take it as this is the easier way.

Ignorance, hatred and desire are visualized as poisons. What do they poison? They poison our mind. We add all the negative karma of samsara and of all sentient beings. Everywhere we look in Buddha’s teachings, it always lead us to encompass others. Samsara teaches us self, me, I. Dharma teaches us others, all sentient beings. It’s like you are dying of cancer and the medcine or cure lies in taking care of others and not your own illness.

A normal person doesn’t look at a corpse, a decompossing body, human internal organs, urine, bile, blood as something beautiful. Most of us find them disgusting but yet the very truth and facts is that we are made up of all these disgusting parts and we worhsip and spend all our energy into taking care of them. It’s ironic. When we read the facts, we all know it’s true, we cannot deny that it’s true. But it doesn’t really sink in. Hence these visualizations in prayers help us to re-train our minds to slowly see and realize the truth so actions will follow, so we will change what we spend our time doing.

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama states that anyone who worships or follows Shungden cannot be his student. That means that you are not his student whether you were ordaind by him or not. That also means that whether your other teachings are valid or not , any student who holds the Dalai Lama as their root guru should not have you as a teacher.

Thank you to those who joined us for the Blog Chat session last Saturday, 20 June 2015.The session was interactive and I thank everyone who submitted their questions and of course, Pastor David for sharing his knowledge in detail patiently.

As not everybody could join us, I am sharing some of the questions asked and the answers here. I hope it will add value to you.

Question: When we talk about the benefits of Dharma Protectors, we often talk about granting wish of gaining material wealth, having our businesses do well etc. Does this not enhance our attachment? Does this not contradict the teachings of Lord Buddha Shakyamuni?
    Answer:
    • The thought of getting material benefits does contradict but that is not wrong. It is our mind at the moment and that can change. Dorje Shugden is masterful to transform our minds if we rely on him sincerely and earnestly. Dorje Shugden may grant our material aspirations and slowly guide us towards having faith in the Dharma as well. For most of us, that was how we came into kechara and the Dharma anyway. We had a problem to begin with and when that is solved, we start to look at the Dharma teachings etc because faith grew from there.
    • That is WHY we have “DHARMA” protectors who will know what is best to grant us. If our motivation is a selfish one, then I think no matter how much we pray, we ain’t gonna get any. But if it will help increase our faith, change us internally, maybe we start becoming more spiritual, more kinder, more compassionate, more generous, the success or wish granted you do good with it for others, the protectors will help.

These video teachings are so well made and so well elucidated by all the presenters. Bravo !! All the presenters do not do public speaking for a living. They have to train and practice very hard to pluck up their courage to teach via video recordings. It can be quite a nerve wrecking experience. But their motivation is purely for benefiting others, they are able to overcome the 8 worldly concerns and focus on doing the recording. Rinpoche has said that through this video project we can reach out to many many more people who are in pain and need the Dorje Shugden practice to help them alleviate their problems. Many who want to enhance their Dharma practice to higher levels can also practice DS. Thank you to the teachings and blessings of Rinpoche this project was successfully carried out and completed. Thank you Rinpoche.
Now many of us can use these video teachings to guide us in our DS practice. This will also further enhance our faith in the 3 Jewels and help us understand better the teachings of the great Lama Tsongkhapa !

Wow! These videos are actually really good. Very educational. It took some time to watch them though.

Firstly i would like to address that the teachings in all the videos were very clear. Clear in a sense that the teachers are able to speak well and that the information presented is of just the right amount. I think that teachings in the form of videos are a good way to educate people about the Dharma.

Personally, i am not very up to date with all the dharma activities, and i lack a lot of knowledge about Dorje Shugden. These videos are very good for people like me. People who watch these videos are easily informed. From the videos i already now know more about Dorje Shugden in general.

I did not know that my auntie could speak so well haha. Her background explanation of how Dorje Shugden was created was very clear and it really reminded me about what i have learnt in the past. Also, i thought that the explanations of Dorje Shugdens relationship with Setrap was well explained and very detailed. I hope that there will be more videos like this in the future not only for Dorje Shugden, but for all other Dharma related topics.

So that whoever watch the video and sincere about the practice, please do not miss the visualization part which is very important for us to practice. By doing the visualization we can gain more merits compare to we just chant and chant the mantra.

Through Rinpoche’s compassion, we conveniently received the full complete set of teachings on Dorje Shugden. How blessed and fortunate to be able to watch these videos. I hope by now people already let go of their wrong view on Dorje Shugden practice.

For those who are confused or disturbed by the controversy over this practice, do watch the videos for a different angle and contemplate on the logic and the truth, to help you have more faith or at the very least remove the confusions which causes so much suffering to the DS practitioners.
As for the current DS practitioners, it is so heart warming and assuring to have a team of such talented and knowledgeable Pastors and lay persons who have elucidated so well the very words we would like to share with the world regarding the practice we hold so dearly in our heart .

I may not be the one that involved directly in all these amazing work but I can and I would like to CONTRIBUTE my little part as making a DONATION to show my appreciation and support to Rinpoche and the team hard work and for the Dharma and pure lineage of Lord Tsongkhpa to spread.

May Rinpohce’s teachings reach out to the world to bring peace and happiness to all sentient beings. May all the misunderstanding and doubts about Dharma be cleared and May we all never never parted from Dharma and our beloved Guru for this life and all our future lives.

The 9 videos above are a reflection of Rinpoche’s skilful means to keep the Dorje Shugden lineage pure and to help those who are confused, or holding wrong views about Dorje Shugden due to the ban.

Knowledge eradicates ignorance, and I find these videos to be a really effective way for people to clear doubts in a Dharma protector who has had so many rumours surrounding Him, misunderstanding and confusion is only a natural result for an average Joe observing from afar.

Through understanding of the incarnation lineage of Dorje Shugden, learning about the unbroken lineage of great masters who have practiced Dorje Shugden, Dorje Shugden’s iconography, etc etc – these are strong fundamentals that will help others develop unshakeable faith in the enlightened Dharma protector, Dorje Shugden.

The videos makes it really easy to learn from – they’re very well-filmed, short, and knowledge-packed. Almost like an e-learning guide!

Each video focuses on an aspect about Dorje Shugden, so whenever I need to answer a question about Dorje Shugden in the future, it’ll be easy to refer to!

I’ve shared these videos with friends who are interested in learning more about Dorje Shugden. Thank you, Rinpoche and the team who were behind the making of these videos!

I’ll slowly go through them again and again.

Thank you Rinpoche and all those that were involved in the videos for your hard work!

This is such a brilliant idea! I love it! Rinpoche always find ways to make Dharma knowledge easy to understand and easily available.

Despite the ‘chaos’ happening due to the ban, these videos are excellent because they talk about the origin, lineage, the great masters, iconography, mandala, etc and especially why we need Dharma protectors.

It is really important for new people and those who don’t know much, to watch these videos to know and learn more about Dorje Shugden. We should always check and examine with the logic before we shut the facts out.

We are truly grateful that we have Rinpoche to teach and share His knowledge of Dorje Shugden with us and in return, the students do the same for others.
May many who benefit from these videos, continue to spread the authentic lineage of great masters and protectors to many more.

This is a great online teaching for The World Peace Protector Dorje Shugden. The Video teaching lining up from the purpose of having a protector, the benefits, the authentic lineage/history, the relationship of the authentic protector practice with Kechara, the iconography of the protector, the explanation of Dorje Shugden abode, relationship between the 2 brothers protector and the precious tradition of the Oracle that has been pass down. All of the explanation are well shared, clear and easy to understand by the the Kechara Pastors and the senior students of Tsem Rinpoche.

We are really lucky to able to receive this protector teaching from Tsem Rinpoche as this teaching has it’s authentic lineage from the great master which recognise by the HH Dalai Lama himself. It’s indeed a very precious teaching for us at this current time where the protector manifest in the form to be close to us, to help and protect us in every aspect for us to able to pursue our spiritual practice which is the ultimate happiness in our life.

Thank you very much Rinpoche and the team for producing such complete educational video of the Word Peace Protector Dorje Shugden for more people to understand the lineage, benefit of propitiating and the culture.

It’s definitely worth to watch again and again for us to understand better of this protector practice and it’s also easy to understand even for one that has no background at all on protector practice. This online teaching definitely make a great value for many people.

With folded hands and thank you to Rinpoche, Pastors and dharma brother and sisters that are working effortlessly involved in this making of this informative videos. All of this videos show that the much learned dharma that Kechara has learnt from our Guru, Tsem Rinpoche and the pure lineage of teachings that the students of Kechara are getting from Tsem Rinpoche. All information that being said is very consistent and is for the benefits for all, and the objective is for spiritual knowledge and understanding.

Thank you Kechara for these invaluable teachings. It is a means of easy reach to dharma knowledge and will benefit many people. Many peopleare succumb to personal prejudices and may not understand some of these practices but the explanations offered in these videos, hopefully people will open their minds up. Thank you again, and especially to His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche.

I am glad to see this first set of videos now being made available to the public. It has always been Rinpoche’s vision in spreading the Dharma, to also teach the Protector practice that Kyabje Zong Rinpoche gave Rinpoche. I was doubly fortunate to not only be involved in this project, but also to have the opportunity to present Kechara’s lineage of Dorje Shugden. In fact, Kechara’s Dorje Shugden lineage masters are also the same masters who gave us Je Tsongkhapa’s Guru Yoga, Lamrim, Cittamani Tara and Vajrayogini.

As I was preparing for this shoot, I was again reminded how incredibly lucky we are to have this pure and adulterated practice that Dorje Shugden himself gave us, and to be a part of a living tradition amidst tremendous degeneration. All who have inherited this practice from Tsem Rinpoche must never forget this, and should realise how much merits it requires just to be where we are.

May the Dorje Shugden lineage of Kyabje Tsem Rinpoche grow from strength to strength and spread to the ten directions.

  78. Jennifer Yuen on May 20, 2015 at 7:11 pm

Would like to thank Rinpoche and the working team for your efforts and hardwork to produce these teachings to share with the world. They are put together with the intention for others to understand and learn what Dharma Protector practice is all about especially Dharmapala Dorje Shugden. There have been too much unjust comments / statements being made about Dorje Shugden and these video teachings will be good for those who are interested to learn to have a reference. May these teachings benefit many!

  79. sarah yap on May 20, 2015 at 7:03 pm

I am so thankful to play a small part in this massive and beneficial project, and it’s all thanks to Rinpoche for coming up with this brilliant idea. Rinpoche have always been very attentive to the needs of the people, so I am not surprised that Rinpoche thought about this idea, which is to have these teaching videos on Dorje Shugden available to the public.

I saw how much effort and work went behind the production of these videos. Rinpoche had many meetings to plan out the videos and even gave us very valuable advice on how we should present out teaching video. I remember Rinpoche told us, dont worry how you look or sound like in the camera, just focus on your audience that will watch this video. And that is an incredible advice for novice speakers like us, to remind us that it is not about us, but the people that will benefit from the videos.

I also saw how hard Beng Kooi, Ms Han and their teams work during the pre and post-production of these videos. They are truly selfless and incredible people… And all those involved in giving the teaching on video, they too made much effort in rehearsals and raising funds for the production of these video.

  80. Li Kheng on May 20, 2015 at 4:27 pm

Thank you Rinpoche and everyone for these concise and easy to understand teachings on Dorje Shugden.

The involvement of these individuals is a reflection of creative and new ways Rinpoche and Kechara consistently work on so that we can all contribute to the Dharma and benefitting others.

I remember Rinpoche’s word of advise to us when these videos were being filmed. Rinpoche asked us to focus on the people who will be watching these videos and direct our motivation to benefitting them. Rinpoche told us to speak from our hearts with faith that our sharing can help relief the suffering of practitioners in various parts of the world who hold onto their worship of Dorje Shugden despite the discrimination and suppression.

As I watched these videos, my heart swell with appreciation and respect for the people who worked hard to prepare for the video and their determination to overcome their fear of the camera to convey their message to create understanding about Dorje Shugden all over the world.

These videos are not just videos, they are message of knowledge, hope, contribution and faith.

Thank you again Rinpoche and fellow Dharma practitioners!!!

      Dear Li Kheng,

You spoke well and clear. Well done. I watched all these 9 videos with our KFR team over a period of three evenings. All of us were clearly mesmerised by the presenters , the research done and the professional work of the production team. I personally saw how hard the passionate leader of this project , Beng Kooi worked for months to have these available for us. Again, this is another of our Rinpoche’s brilliant idea to give knowledge through a mode that even a beginner can understand. As not many people like to read, this is a good way of disseminating knowledge. Almost like ‘Dorje Shugden Book For Dummies’ except that it is in the form of video.

There are already so many literatures previously published about Dorje Shugden and even more materials are available online. These 9 videos are the latest to the long list. If anyone who is sincere on learning about this enlightened being, there is no doubt at all about His lineage if the person listens, reads and learn from all these materials.

Thank you again Rinpoche and the team that made it all possible. May all distortions from doubt be cleared and confidence attained.

The concept of rebirth has a long association with Buddhism. Rebirth in Buddhism refers to the teaching that the actions of a sentient being lead to a new existence after death, in an endless cycle called saṃsāra. One will begins a new life in a new body that may be human, animal or spiritual depending on the moral quality of the previous life’s actions. What they are reborn as depends on their actions in their previous life rather kamma. As a Buddhist we should believe in rebirth but still many people don’t . Buddha taught us that choices of rebirth make a difference and can shape many lifetimes. Buddhists believe that nothing that exists is permanent and everything will ultimately cease to be. Against the odds two inspiring nuns fought all the way to become ordained, fighting for their rights to practice Buddhism . Interesting read of how they went through , bringing equality for women in Thailand. Buddhism is the predominant religion in Thailand. Officially, only men can become monks and novices in Thailand under a Buddhist order. The country does not recognize female monks or novices. In recent years, more Thai Buddhist women seeking to become full-fledged female monks, have been defying the tradition getting ordained overseas, in Sri Lanka or India. Buddhist women have been fighting for years for equality and social acceptance in Thailand. They just can’t be ordained by Thai monks. Ven. Dhammananda, 68 year old former university lecturer and activist became Thailand’s first Theravadin bhikkhuni after going the odds. Inspiring read biography on Ven. Dhammananda and Ven. Dr. Lee. They had gone through great hardships, discrimination and against the many odds in bringing equality to women in Buddhism in Thailand.

The unseen things are spiritual realities that are eternal and invisible to our physical eye. There are many forces and phenomena that are not visible to the naked eye. There are many things that humans cannot see yet there are some could see. For what is can be seen is only. Things do exist even we can’t see, believing their existence is our choice. Things that we can’t see in the world opens up a curiosity and exploration by some. Whether through scientific inquiry, or spiritual exploration, the pursuit of knowledge about the unseen can lead to profound insights about ourselves and the universe.
Malacca City is the historic capital of the coastal state of Malacca, in Malaysia serving as a link between east and west for over 500 years. Famous for breath-taking sights with rich heritage, ancient dark culture and history with many old centuries buildings with an interesting past and a colourful ghost story. For that reason alone it is worth visiting as is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site owing to its well-preserved historical center. There’s many historical mansions been passed down generation to generations and with many ghostly sighting by the locals and visitors. There’s the reason many unseen beings loitering and attached to these places. Such an interesting and incredibly creepy watching the video in this blog host by Li Kim. Li Kim had done a great work all along with her team to share with readers about our historic Malacca .

Vajrayogini symbolizes the wisdom of all enlightened beings and embodies the impulse of inspiration that drives the Buddhas to attain the perfect enlightenment. Vajrayogini is one of the most effective practices for people today. We can make offerings such as gold or jewel offerings and so on. The offering of gold helps us to collect merits, spiritual attainments, gain a deeper connection to Vajrayogini. It also creates the causes to attain a Buddha’s body.
Make Offerings to Vajrayogini in Kechara Forest Retreat at Bentong is such an meritorious way for us to collect merits. All thanks to our Guru having conceptualised the idea of having a statue of Vajrayogini for everyone . Recitation of Vajrayogini mantra can be a powerful tool for self-transformation, healing and liberation from samsara.

Thank you, Rinpoche for sharing this insightful article. Life is short, and if we enjoy every moment of every day, then we will be happy no matter what happens or what changes along the way. What ever matter to us at the time of death is nothing. In the end, it’s not the years in our life that count it’s what you leave behind that matters. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again.Death is the golden key that opens the palace of eternity. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time. Learning Dharma and practicing dharma is the our choice that’s matter. Some of the key points to take notes, read, study the Lam Rim and apply it, engage in Sadhana daily and consistently. No one will help us at the moment of death but ourselves. Spiritual practicing is the best choice.

Well the size of Buddha statues in Tibetan Buddhism is important because it represents the Buddha’s immense ability and vast knowledge. Hence the Buddha statues hold the symbol of satisfaction within, peace and happiness. They are a symbol of inspiration for every human being. When we focus on the Buddha statues, it gives us inner peace that our mind, our heart and our soul gets enlightened.
We have are so fortunate seeing and circumambulating where the 9-foot Dorje Shugden statue and with 500 mantra stones engraved with Dorje Shugden’s sacred mantra. As Rinpoche had said before the bigger and more Buddha statues helps in planting seeds of enlightenment in people’s mind-streams. It also help us to generate as much merit and purify as much karma as possible. Merely by seeing all those big statues at Kechara Forest Retreat is a blessing.
    Thank you Rinpoche.

The 4th Tagpu Pemavajra Jampel Tenpai Ngodrub, most commonly known as Tagpu Dorje Chang, was a highly accomplished yogi Highly attained lama who had many authentic visions of the Buddhas and even travel astrally to receive direct teachings from them. His recognised line of incarnations stem all the way back to the 14th Century. He is generally regarded as such amongst Gelug lineage holders. He spent most of his time in a hermitage located above Sera Monastery, gave teachings and transmitted many vital practices and lineages to his foremost student Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche. Besides receiving the complete instructions of Dorje Shugden’s practice, Tagpu Dorje Chang had many other mystical experiences throughout his lifetime. n Tibetan culture, it is a popular and customary practice for families to invite monks to perform spiritual ceremonies such as Trusol rituals. The monks have had the opportunity to offer such ceremonies for individuals or their families. Such ceremonies purify the elements of the environment which helps those living or visiting there to experience good health, success and well-being. The sacred ritual of ‘bathing’ the Buddhas and consecration through which negativities, sicknesses and obstacles will be cleared. Where by filling those areas with positive energies and good vibes through this Trusol consecration puja. Water is an essential part of this puja and symbolises the cleansing of all negativities and impurities. Through this puja it also pacifies local deities and other unseen beings in the surrounding areas. We are indeed fortunate that Tsem Rinpoche has taught Kecharians this practice and it has benefited many.

Reading this post had me gain some knowledge of Shifter Werewolves. Any article regarding rare creatures or paranormal articles are of my interest since young. In European folklore, a werewolf is a man who turns into a wolf at night and devours animals, people, or corpses but returns to human form by day. They have the ability to transform from an ordinary human appearance to a partially-lupine form with pointed ears, mutton chops, claws and fangs, and a ridged brow . Wow… werewolf tends to be vicious and unable to control his blood thirst. Their underlying common origin can be traced back to Proto-Indo-European mythology. In many depictions, these bloodthirsty beasts are evil where they kill animals and innocent people. They are humans who transition into wolf-like creatures, after being placed under a curse. In folklore, most werewolves originate from being cursed or bitten by another werewolf. That’s what they do believe. According many enthusiasts, there’s many different type of werewolves such as Alpha wolves, Beta wolves , Deltas, Elders, some survive as loners while others move in packs. How true it is no one knows. I do believe their existing . Many interesting stories related to these wolves in the past history.

Beautiful Dorje Shugden at Malacca. One should pay a visit there, located at a busy tourist place. It was such an auspicious occasion that a grand Puja was held there. Dedicated students and volunteers were there getting the place ready for the grand puja. Well the Grand Dorje Shugden puja was conducted by very own Kechara puja team to commemorate the chapel’s 3rd anniversary. Many people attended the Puja that’s wonderful to receive the powerful Protector Dorje Shugden blessings. More people will make a connection and get to know Manjushri, the Buddha of Wisdom, in the form of a Dharma Protector. May Dorje Shugden’s practice flourish to benefit those tourists and locals.

Venerable Geshe Rabten Rinpoche is a highly realised meditation master known as a debater, scholar, and meditation master, was the first Tibetan Buddhist master to introduce the complete Vinaya-tradition. He had also introduce the study of the five major topics of Buddhism to the West. He became the ‘path breaker’ of the complete and complex teachings of Buddhism in the West. Many masters, who are famous in the West today, were Geshe’s students. enerable Geshe Rabten. Geshe Rabten wrote the beautiful and Manjushri’s prayer called Gangloma and gave a profound explanation. We are so fortunate to learn about this Manjushri’s sacred prayer. May all be blessed by the practice of Lord Manjushri and Geshe Rabten’s explanation.

The begging bowl or alms bowl is one of the simplest but most important objects in the daily lives of Theravada Buddhist monks. The alms bowl still stands as an emblem of how all Buddhas, as numerous as grains of sand in the Ganges, practiced to end their desire. All those who receive the alms bowl should focus their mind to act with self-control and self-respect. Almsgiving is a tradition of Theravada Buddhists, majority in Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Laos. In those early days of Buddhism, monks would take their bowls and go out begging for food. As today in Thailand one could see monks woke up before dawn every morning and carried his bowl through the roads or paths wherever he was staying. Local people would place food in the bowl as a donation, through the generosity of lay people. They accept whatever food is offered for them and eat whatever been given, serve as a blessing for the giver.
One bowl has held the food of a thousand families. A solitary monastic travels on his journey of a hundred thousand miles seeking liberation from the cycle of birth and death.
Thank you H.E. Tsem Rinpoche for explaining the meaning of begging and gave us more reasons to be vegetarian . Create a awareness among us not killing animals to be one.

Ajahn Siripanyo, the son of billionaire Ananda Krishnan, chose to abandon his inheritance and become a Buddhist monk in pursuit of spirituality. A Thai-Malaysian monk born in London and educated in UK. He was ordained in Thailand and lived there, leaving behind a life of immense wealth and privilege. He did surprised many and his choice was unexpected. Initially as a temporary measure, but somehow later evolved into a permanent way of life. Ven. Ajahn Siripanyo is now the Abbot of hermitage Dtao Dam on the Thai-Burmese border in Saiyok National Park, Thailand.

I must thank my dharma blog team who are great assets to me, Kechara and growth of dharma in this wonderful region. I am honoured and thrilled to work with them. I really am. Maybe I don't say it enough to them, but I am saying it now. I APPRECIATE THESE GUYS VERY MUCH!

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
