Dear friends around the world,

Nepal is a country that is very dear to me. I have spent a lot of time there in the past and I know the holy sites very well. I also encourage my students and friends to visit Nepal on pilgrimage and I have personally brought many students there to visit the power places of Kathmandu.

My connection to Nepal (and Kathmandu in particular) goes back to when I first became a monk. After receiving my ordination vows from His Holiness the Dalai Lama, I travelled to Nepal while waiting for the permits that I needed to stay in Gaden Shartse Monastery long term.

So I stayed at Samten Ling Monastery in Boudhanath near the famous Boudha Stupa that contains Buddha’s relics and while I was waiting in Nepal, I met some of my teachers there. I was there in 1987 for two months and visited the many holy places which, years later, I took many friends to visit. It was at this time I fell in love with Nepal. My love for Nepal is still strong and if I retired, I would love to live there in a small retreat house near the Himalayan mountains. Seeing the mysterious snow-capped mountains, juniper forests and blue lakes of Nepal resonates a very deep familiarity within me. It feels like the kind of environment I belong in and feels like home. Wherever I go, I try to replicate that type of scene in my living.

Myself at Swayambunath in Kathmandu during my younger days

During my time in Nepal, my monk friends there also showed me all the beautiful sacred and holy places in and around Kathmandu. It was then that I began to develop a deep appreciation, respect and love for the Nepali people, their culture and their innate spirituality. Not only is Nepal alive with spirituality, but the beautiful Nepali people also have genuine respect for other cultures and faiths. It is truly one of the most spiritual places I have ever been in and the energy of Nepal resonates with me deeply. I would love to live in Nepal some day and have a retreat home in the mountains where I can spend summers with my students and we all do intense retreats together.

Apart from my personal connection with Nepal, I am extremely grateful to the Nepali government and people for giving my fellow Tibetans in exile a safe place to live where they can practise their culture and religion in a peaceful and tolerant environment. And so I decided to do something to show my genuine appreciation for the people of Nepal. Since I am an ordained Buddhist monk, I have no better way to give back to the beautiful Nepali people than to share the Dharma with them. Life can sometimes be painful and difficult and so I wanted the Nepali people to have a way to ease their burdens. Bhagawan Dorje Shugden’s practice is perfect for this.

With the help of my students and friends, I have set up two chapels to Bhagawan Dorje Shugden in busy areas of Kathmandu with high foot traffic. Bhagawan Dorje Shugden is an avatar of Bhagawan Shree Manjushri, the Buddha of Wisdom, who is in turn intrinsically linked to the history of Kathmandu.

The new Dorje Shugden chapel in Chabahil, Kathmandu

The new Dorje Shugden chapel in Chabahil, Kathmandu (15 mins from town centre or 15 minutes from the famous Boudha area)

The Kathmandu Valley was once believed to have been a great lake surrounded by hills. Manjushri saw that a huge lotus was emanating bright lights in the centre of the lake. Knowing that the lotus was special and would be beneficial to people in the future, Manjushri decided to cut a gorge with his sword and drain the lake. The resulting lake bed is known today as the Kathmandu Valley. And so, given Manjushri’s importance and significance in the lives of the Nepali people, both Hindu and Buddhist, I strongly feel that Bhagawan Dorje Shugden’s practice is particularly appropriate and karmically connected to Nepal.

Bhagawan Dorje Shugden can help us in many ways especially in the areas of wealth, peace and protection as well as healing and wisdom. He is beneficial for students, businessmen and businesswomen, healers, farmers, families, travellers and those suffering from spirit disturbances, magic attacks or depression. (For more details on how Bhagawan Dorje Shugden can help you, please click here.)

Each chapel is well-stocked with many free distribution materials about Dorje Shugden such as booklets, brochures, graphic novels, prayer cards and framed pictures in different sizes. These are available in multiple languages including Nepali, Hindi, Tibetan, English and Chinese, just to name a few. There are also free pendants that are ready to wear (or keep in your purse or bag), offering items such as incense and sindoor (sindur), and you can bring your own butterlamps, fruits, flowers and khatas too.

A shelf was specially allocated to house the free distribution items where people can bring home to propitiate. In this shelf here are some Dorje Shugden collateral in various languages.

Each chapel is well-stocked with free distribution materials in various languages

It will be very good for visitors to make offerings at these chapels to create a connection with this powerful Dhaneshwar Bhagawan Dorje Shugden and collect some positive energy (merit) so that you can tap into his divine energy when you need his assistance. It would also be very good to recite his mantra OM BENZA WIKI BITANA SOHA as much as possible, and even recite his short prayer that I composed if you have the time.

When we pray to Bhagawan Dorje Shugden, we can be of any religion and we do not need to convert to Buddhism or change our culture. Bhagawan Dorje Shugden will help anyone regardless of whether they are Buddhist, Hindu or any other religion. As long as we are sincere, kind and have a good heart, he will hear our prayers and help us. Holy beings and divinities will bless us as we are and they do not require us to be in any religion. Holy beings, gods, God, Buddhas are above mankind’s labels and constrictions. These beings are free of the labels of religion and therefore operate to help sentient beings when we connect with them. If people say you need to convert to a certain religion for a divinity or their version of God to help you, they are misinterpreting for their own purposes because they are saying God or divinity is prejudice, biased, hateful and narrow-minded. They are saying God, Buddha or divinities can help you only in their context or only through their religion. If that is the case, then why pray to such a narrow God?

When it is said that one religion is better than another, or that you have to convert to be ‘saved’, this is not made by Buddha or God but by men who wish to frighten us into their control, subservience, power, gain profit or perhaps even play into the ego games of the preacher/teacher. If they say you need to convert to a certain religion and that your religion is inferior, then they are degrading your people, your religion, culture and the hundreds of years your ancestors who have worshiped your religion and derived great benefits. Are they saying all your hundreds of ancestors went to hell just because they didn’t convert to some new religion? Of course that is not logical nor true. We should keep our unique religious paths and no one should tell us their religion is better. No one should criticise another person’s spiritual path. All religions have benefits and it is up to the individual to choose based on their affinity.

Truly religious people are kind, compassionate, tolerant and love everyone regardless of differences in religion. Some people of some religions like to say if you don’t enter their religion, you will go to hell. Not true. For hundreds of thousands of years before a particular religion appeared, where did people go after they died? Where you go after death is up to our individual deeds in life and not what religion you belong to. The beautiful people in Nepal are respectful of all religions and have very rich religious traditions of their own, and this should be respected and preserved. Dorje Shugden does not need us to convert to any religion as he is Manjushri’s emanation (avatar), and he is therefore filled with compassion for all beings if we reach out to him. Dorje Shugden will help all of us equally no matter what religion we are, what caste we belong to, or whether we are male, female, poor and or rich. I respectfully offer Dorje Shugden’s protection, blessings, practice and lineage to be a part of what exists within the spirituality in Nepal and not to replace it. Dorje Shugden has benefited me very much and I wanted to share. Nepalis and all people of all religions can incorporate Dorje Shugden’s special prayers and mantras into the other prayers that you may be already doing. My guru gave Dorje Shugden to me to practise to help me over 30 years ago and I honour my guru by keeping my practice firm and sharing with others. It was his instructions to me and he knows I will share with others. The time has come we have to respect all religions and not discriminate against anyone’s religion. May you be blessed.

I have shared Bhagawan Dorje Shugden’s practice with many people in the past and many have come back to let me know that they have received miraculous assistance or special signs. Some of these people also come back to help clean the chapels, contribute towards the cost of free distribution materials and spread awareness about the existence of the chapels in gratitude for the divine help they received. So when you are next in Kathmandu, do make the time to visit either (or both) of the chapels below. It would make me very happy to hear that you have created your very own personal connection to Bhagawan Dorje Shugden.

I took a group of pilgrims to Nepal back in 2008. This picture was taken outside of Naropa's and Tilopa's cave at Pashupatinath, Nepal.

I brought a group of students on pilgrimage to Nepal in 2008. This picture was taken outside Naropa’s and Tilopa’s caves at Pashupatinath, Kathmandu. I was doing puja in this sacred place.

I would like to thank the many kind and generous sponsors, my hard-working students, and especially the authorities who gave us their support and made it possible to establish these two chapels in Kathmandu. I deeply appreciate the Nepali government’s policy of accepting all religions and faiths without bias or discrimination, something that Nepal’s Minister of Defence the Honourable Mr. Bhimsen Das Pradhan said during his speech at the inaugural International Buddhist Conference of Dorje Shugden Followers which was held in Kathmandu from 4th to 6th January 2018.

My deepest gratitude and appreciation also to all who were involved in the planning, fundraising, building, maintenance and operations that went into making these chapels a success. Nothing brings me more happiness than sharing the Buddha’s teachings of compassion, generosity, acceptance and wisdom, as well as the practice of Dorje Shugden. Dorje Shugden’s practice will give hope, can save lives and give those help who need it. I rejoice that all involved will be blessed as more and more people make a connection with none other than the Bhagawan Shree Manjushri in the form of a Protector. May Dorje Shugden’s practice flourish so that others will be greatly benefited too. Please keep checking back to this post for further updates on more Dorje Shugden chapels coming up in Nepal.

Sarva mangalam,

Dorje Shugden Chapel in Putalisadak, Kathmandu

This is the first chapel to Bhagawan Dorje Shugden that I established in Kathmandu in February 2016. Over the years, a large number of people have come here to pray to Dorje Shugden for assistance and many have overcome their problems. I also thank the lovely lady who watches over the chapel; she has been a great help. Enjoy the video of our chapel above.

The Benefits of Bhagawan Dorje Shugden

1. For Students
Students who wish to do well in school, obtain good grades, and expand their minds to have knowledge so that they may get good jobs when they are older to help their families, villages, city and country can rely on Bhagawan Dorje Shugden. By reciting his mantra daily, they will gain clarity, wisdom and good memory.

2. For Healers
Healers are people who remove pain and physical problems from other people’s bodies. There are many types of healers. When healers of any background pray to Bhagawan Dorje Shugden and do his mantra daily and well, the healing ability of genuine healers will increase. Additionally, the energy of Dorje Shugden’s mantra will enter the body of the sick through the healers and help them to become well. So it is an excellent mantra for healers to recite to benefit others to become well.

3. For Businessmen and Businesswomen
Those who wish to do private businesses in order to earn money to take care of their families, responsibilities and perhaps even expand their families may encounter many problems from many directions and from many different parties. Therefore, when a sincere businessman or businesswoman fully relies on Bhagawan Dorje Shugden through offering flowers, incense, tea and light daily as well as by reciting Bhagawan Dorje Shugden’s mantra, he will help them achieve a better situation to be able to support their families and take care of their needs.

4. For Families
Families may have problems, disharmony, misunderstandings and arguments which sometimes cause separation. When families have disharmony and problems, the children, in-laws, parents and grandparents suffer. In order for families to be blessed and to have more harmony, it is important for the family members to always sit down and discuss things nicely, honestly and respectfully with one another. By doing Bhagawan Dorje Shugden’s puja and prayers daily, they will see their families growing and becoming more harmonious.

5. For Farmers
Farmers rely on the land, vegetables, and fruits that they sow. They work hard in the summer – sometimes in the mud – with the buffaloes, planting, waiting for rain and sunshine, subjected to different weather conditions. Eventually, they need to harvest all their crops so that they will have something to live off through the winter. If their crops do not grow and fail, then the farmers suffer tremendously.

Therefore, it would be wise for farmers and farming families to install Bhagawan Dorje Shugden in their homes and pray. Offer Bhagawan Dorje Shugden water, flowers, incense and light and recite his mantra daily for the crops. This will bless your land along with your animals. This is very important. Farmers can rely on Bhagawan Dorje Shugden in order to help their families grow their crops.

6. For Those Suffering From Magic
Some people are jealous and unhappy of other people’s success. Some people are unhappy with others due to anger, arguments, disagreements or for whatever reasons. As a result, sometimes certain people can contact powerful people to hurt others through magic, incantations, mantras and rituals. Some people believe in magic, some people don’t, but whether they believe or not, magic does exist and sometimes it can harm.

Bhagawan Dorje Shugden is the most supreme avatar of Bhagawan Shree Manjushri who is very powerful to stop magic, to release people from magic and to protect them from being harmed by magic. By propitiating Bhagawan Dorje Shugden consistently, over time one will be released from magic, protected from magic and the magic from jealous parties cannot harm us. Bhagawan Dorje Shugden will never hurt the other party but he will protect us.

7. For Those Disturbed By Spirits
Certain passes, streets, houses, valleys, forests and cemeteries have very powerful spirits residing there. The spirits are people who have passed away, cannot move on, and are unable to reincarnate and they have remained in the area unhappy, sad and attached. Sometimes, these spirits do harm to others, frighten them, causes diseases, and create problems.

These spirits need to be released. We need not be afraid of them but instead we should show them great karuna (compassion). By showing and generating great karuna to these spirits through recitation of Bhagawan Dorje Shugden’s mantra, the spirits will be released and they cannot harm us further.

8. For Those Suffering From Depression
Depression is a state of mind where we feel hopelessness and sadness. We wish to give up, we do not wish to fight anymore and we have lost our inner strength. All of us suffer through depression at one time or another in our lives. Depression is not easy to heal. Sometimes it is clinical, sometimes psychic, or sometimes it is the wrong way of thinking.

If it is clinical, we must get help from a professional, but if it is any other type of depression arising from wrong views, an unhealthy body or an unclear mind, reciting the mantra of Bhagawan Dorje Shugden can guide us and help us to heal from depression or to find help to become free of depression. What is important for depression is not to rely on Bhagawan alone and ask to release our unhappiness, but also seek help at the same time.

9. For Those Who Need Protection
At times we need to travel, without choice, to various places that are dangerous, far, troubled with crime or prone to natural disasters. In order to travel to these places, we need to be very careful. If something happens to us, our families will suffer. Before and during travel, by doing puja, making offerings and reciting Bhagawan Dorje Shugden’s prayer and mantra, we can be protected and remain safe.

Interesting Note:
Bhagawan Dorje Shugden holds a wisdom sword in his right hand, just like Manjushri. This sword cuts through and purifies our problems, difficulties and negative karma so that we may fulfil our wishes. In weapons, a meandering blade is characteristically designed to inflict maximum damage. In the hands of Bhagawan Dorje Shugden it represents just how powerful his practice is for purification, removal of obstacles and ultimately to gain merits, spiritual attainments and Enlightenment.

Prayer: A Daily Request for Wealth1, Peace2 and Protection3

Composed by H.E. Tsem Rinpoche

In the heavens4 there are myriad manifestations of the divine. All those manifestations specifically show us different aspects of divinity5 in order to be of benefit to all living beings. All the rupakaya6 forms of the divine have compassion, skillful means and wisdom. We invoke upon them whether we are happy, sad, down, lost, fulfilled, confused, empty, and during the whole range of emotions we constantly experience due to an untrained mind.

Understanding our nature, Great Wisdom Being Dorje Shugden, therefore all the more so, please hold us close to your bosom as an only child to a parent.

Though the manifestations of the divine need no offerings and gifts from us, we offer you supreme Manjushri7 Dorje Shugden a libation of tea, incense and mantras, in order to ask you to bless us, to be a part of our lives, to abide in our dwellings and to give us signs, omens and portents of both good and bad. When the negative arises, quell them immediately. Please increase the positive for my weary and worn mind as I lay my hopes in you.

When difficulties, problems and confusion arise, we ask you, who is but the culmination of all that is powerful, holy and omniscient to bless myself, family, loved ones, environment and even my pets. May I see wisdom, find hope, and be at peace.

I request you, O Divine Bhagavān8 Dorje Shugden, who wears a round dome hat and the three robes of a saffroned bhikshu9, who wields a sword of liberty, justice and wisdom and clutches a wish-fulfilling jewel, who rides on a supreme lion of subjugation of all that is negative, to fulfill my wishes. I understand my wishes may not be the best, so I surrender to your wisdom for the outcome though it may not be what I have in mind. Please bless myself and everyone that we may enter into the supreme city of liberation.

Great Bhagavān Dorje Shugden, I request you sincerely from my heart to be a part of my life, bless my home, and grant me wisdom, solace and comfort, that I might be of service to others without agenda, and that I may focus out onto others and not be fixated on myself, creating more problems for all that I hold dear.

Bless me to become kinder, wiser, more compassionate, tolerant and very forgiving to all those who hurt and love me. In order to become close to you, Dorje Shugden, we must surrender the banal. We must abandon fixed views, projections and rigidity. Lastly, in my final moment when I leave this plane of existence, only the positive actions I have done will matter as everything and everyone will be left behind. Let me realise this and act upon this now! At this crucial moment, please may I have a vision of yourself, the powerful and merciful Dorje Shugden, to take me to where I may course in the sky10 to continue my journey of spiritual waxing.

I offer you saffron-coloured tea and my faith to fulfill my prayers and gain siddhis11. By reciting your mantra, may healing, peace, love, long life, protection and perfect view of sunyata12 arise.

Mantra of fulfillment, peace and wisdom: OM BENZA WIKI BITANA SOHA

(It is good to recite this mantra one rosary or more per day. Occasionally, engage in retreats where you recite the mantra 100,000 times or more per year, every year. Consistency brings results!)

I dedicate this supreme heartfelt prayer to the all-knowing Celestial and Supreme Protector Dorje Shugden, that I may quickly become a being of light, compassion, love and enlightenment.

This daily prayer to Dorje Shugden was composed by H.E. Tsem Rinpoche on Thursday, 26 February 2015 at 2:03am for Datin MJ. There are many rituals, texts, prayers and rites on Dorje Shugden. But for a person who has many responsibilities and may not have the time, this might suit them better. I have composed this with the motivation to make it simple for Datin. This prayer can be used by anyone at any time. After all, words are just an expression of the universal hopes and wishes we all have. It is needless to be focused on words, but we do need them as they verbalise our aspirations. May this short and concise prayer be of benefit to Datin, and I will have this available for many. Anyone may engage in this prayer without specific permission, regardless of faith. Dorje Shugden helps all beings without labels of religion, race, creed or background. Datin was my inspiration for composing this. The many people who will use this to ‘contact’ World Peace Buddha and Protector Dorje Shugden have Datin to thank. I offer my best wishes. Dear friends,

Tibet has produced many powerful meditations, rituals and guidelines to help us gain spiritual protection, gain wisdom and higher states of consciousness. In general Tibet has produced many powerful methods for the growth of our spiritual evolution. Dorje Shugden is an angel, a saint, a powerful spiritual protector-warrior who originated 350 years ago when a highly awakened Tibetan Lama fulfilled his vows to become a special being to grant protection, wisdom, material needs, safety when travelling (normal and astral travel) and spiritual awakening. Both the Great 5th Dalai Lama and the current His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama composed short yet effective prayers to invoke upon the power and blessings of this special saint and protector. One can recite either one of the prayers that you feel suits you, anytime or even daily. When you feel a special need for help, you can recite either prayer anytime. When you are feeling down, afraid or just need a blessing, you can recite them. After reciting either invocation, it is good to chant the mantra of Dorje Shugden: Om Benza Wiki Bitana Soha.

You do not have to be a Buddhist or practitioner of any religion to invoke upon the blessings and protection of this special enlightened and awakened angel Dorje Shugden. He helps all without discrimination or bias as he is filled with compassion and love. Divinity has no boundaries, they help all who call upon them.

Enclosed are the prayers in English, Chinese and Tibetan.

May you be safe, protected and blessed.

Divination (‘mo’) Text by Dorje Shugden

This is an important divination (‘mo’) text composed by Dorje Shugden himself. Dorje Shugden took trance of the Choyang Dulzin oracle lama, the senior oracle of Gaden Shartse Monastery, and instantly on the spot composed this text within two hours.

The divination text contains information on how to use dice to do divination for the future and is known to be highly accurate. When practitioners use this text, they will be in direct contact with Dorje Shugden to get answers to questions about the future. It is for those who have good samaya with Dorje Shugden and are free of the eight worldly dharmas to be of benefit to others in divining the future.

All enlightened beings are worthy of homage and worship. They are the best beings to take refuge in and we should offer them our prayers as we can put our full confidence in them. Of all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, I personally find that Manjushri is extremely important. This is because what keeps us in samsara (cyclic rebirth) is our total ignorance and misunderstanding of the reality of existence. What is necessary to penetrate this deep ignorance that keeps us bound in a perpetual state of reincarnation is wisdom. We need many types of wisdom which can be acquired by relying on Manjushri as our yidam (meditational deity). By focusing on his meditation, practice, mantra and path we can gain wisdom in order to have the tool to penetrate the reality of existence. Therefore, Manjushri is an extremely important Buddha for us to focus on and take refuge in.

    Dear friends,

Below are some beautiful pictures and a video to share with all of you from Nepal. They were taken today (24 October 2018). As you can see, the practice of Dorje Shugden is growing in Nepal and faith among the Nepali people is getting stronger. Even the local Hindu masters pray to Lord Dorje Shugden. This is because Dorje Shugden does not discriminate against anyone and helps everyone to solve their problems. It is extremely encouraging to know that these people have seen Dorje Shugden benefit them and he will continue benefiting them because he loves everyone. Please rejoice.

For the first time available, Dorje Shugden and his entourage of 32 asssistants of his mandala.

Dorje Shugden is a powerful protector deity who is also an emanation of Manjushri, a wisdom bestowing Buddha. Therefore, he has great ability to help us to progress further on the spiritual path. He does this by helping us to overcome obstacles and problems for the modern individual.

Due to his enlightened nature, Dorje Shugden is able to manifest 32 deities and within the same abode resides Setrap and Kache Marpo:-

    1. 5 Dorje Shugden families or emanations. They consists of the following:-

    – Dulzin Dorje Shugden, which performs activities to eliminate inner and outer obstacles.
    – Shize, which performs activities to pacify all illnesses and disease.
    – Gyenze, which performs activities to increase all desirable material and spiritual wealth.
    – Wangze, which performs activities to control difficult people and circumstances.
    – Trakze, which performs activities to wrathfully eliminate all insurmountable obstacles and life-threatening situations.

    2. 9 Mothers. They represent protection of the five senses and developing control of the four elements. These are all attributes that signify their ability to assist tantric practitioners with their higher meditations.

    3. 8 Guiding Monks. They represent the Eight Great Bodhisattvas (Avalokitesvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Samantabhadra, Maitreya, Kshitigarbha, Akashagarbha, Sarva-nivarana-viskambini) and they bring about the growth of the Dharma, through the Sangha, Dharma practitioners and Dharma establishments.

    4. 10 Youthful & Wrathful Attendants. They represent the ten wrathful attendants to avert inner and outer obstacles. They are beings who are from Mongolia, China, Kashmir, India, Bengali, etc.

    5. Setrap. He is a senior Dharma Protector from India and an emanation of Amitabha Buddha. He had enthroned Dorje Shugden as an authentic Dharma Protector. Therefore, he also resides within the same mandala of Dorje Shugden.

    6. Kache Marpo. He is not an emanation of Dorje Shugden but he is still an enlightened Dharma Protector in his own right. He was originally known as Tsiu Marpo of Samye Monastery. However, he has placed himself under the service of Dorje Shugden as his chief minister, performing many activities in order to protect and benefit practitioners. Therefore, he stands guard at the main entrance of Dorje Shugden’s mandala. He often takes trance of qualified mediums to speak.

    7. Namkar Barzin. He is the reincarnation of an old Mongolian monk and when he passed away in Phari area of Tibet, his spirit was placed as a powerful assistant of Dorje Shugden. He guards and protects buildings and great institutions especially those that benefit others. He rides on a mythical Gyaling animal that resembles a goat but with scales.

These sacred images are available on *Vajrasecrets. They are made of high quality alloy and are one of a kind. They are based on the lineage of His Holiness Panchen Rinpoche’s monastery, Tashilhunpo in Shigatse, Tibet. In fact, the iconography of these statues are based on detailed photographs taken by H. E. Tsem Rinpoche during a trip to Tashilhunpo’s protector chapel. These are based exactly as the 10th Panchen Lama’s personal collection.

His Holiness the 10th Panchen Lama

Tibetans commonly refer to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama as the “sun and moon” of Tibetan Buddhism. They are the center of Tibetan Buddhist civilization, which draws to its sphere of influence millions of non-Tibetan practitioners. The Panchen Lama’s incarnation line began with the 16th abbot of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen (1570 – 1662). He was bestowed the title of Panchen Lama by His Holiness the 5th Dalai Lama after being declared as an emanation of Amitabha.

After being given the title, his three previous incarnations were posthumously also bestowed the title, making Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen the 4th Panchen Lama. He became a teacher to many Tibetans, Bhutanese and Mongolian religious figures, including His Holiness the 4th and 5th Dalai Lamas, and the 1st Jetsun Dampa of Mongolia. A prolific author, Chokyi Gyeltsen is credited with over a hundred compositions, including a number of commentaries and ritual texts that remain central in the Gelukpa tradition today. Along with his role as a teacher of the Dharma, the Panchen Lamas are usually responsible for the recognition of the rebirths of the Dalai Lamas, and vice versa.

The 10th Panchen Lama, Lobsang Trinley Lhundrub Chokyi Gyeltsen (19 February 1938 – 28 January 1989) continued both the spiritual and political roles of his predecessors. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, his contemporary, was even heard to say and echo the Panchen Lama’s own words that the Dalai Lama would safeguard Tibet from the outside while the Panchen Lama would safeguard Tibet from the inside, as he never left Tibet after the political troubles of 1959. He was truly loved by the Tibetans, all the way until his passing. When he taught, thousands of people would attend, not only from his own Gelug lineage, but masters and practitioners from all traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.

At his sprawling monastery of Tashi Lhunpo, he has a special chapel specifically dedicated to Dorje Shugden, where prayers and rituals are performed on a daily basis. In his great omniscience the Panchen Lama held Dorje Shugden as the principal Dharma protector of the monastery. He also personally propitiated Dorje Shugden among other Dharma protectors, and even wrote extensive prayers and rituals to Dorje Shugden. These rituals and prayers are contained within his ‘sung bum’ or collected works, which are provided here. As such a great lama, with an erudite and clear understanding of the Buddhist scriptures, a teacher to millions in both Tibet and China, from an established incarnation line and an emanation of the Buddha Amitabha, he could not be mistaken about his practice of Dorje Shugden.

His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama is known for his composition of commentaries and practice texts that are still in use by contemporary Buddhist practitioners both in Tibet and across the world. One of these is a powerful ritual composition propitiating the compassionate Dorje Shugden.

Upon the request by Acharya Lobsang Jangchub to compose a shorter version of the prayer (sadhana) for the exhortation of activities of Dorje Shugden, Panchen Lama immediately composed an abbreviate form of Dorje Shugden’s Kangsol. This text is entitled “Manjunatha’s (Tsongkapa) Lineage protector Dorje Shugden and five forms wrathful propitiations and confessional prayers and fulfilment of activities rites” or “Melodious sound of Accomplishment of the Four Activities” for short. Once the prayers were completed, he had signs and strong feelings that Dorje Shugden has been working hard to protect the Buddhadharma in general and the lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa specifically.

Mirroring the abilities of one of his earlier incarnations, Khedrub Je, a disciple of Lama Tsongkhapa and master of both sutra and tantra, the Panchen Lama used his compositional skill and poetic prowess to create a masterful sadhana. Worthy of note is a praise in which the first letter of each verse is a Tibetan vowel. Such compositions are rarely seen, and have historically only been used when propitiating senior Dharma protectors such as Palden Lhamo and Kalarupa.

The Panchen Lama also stated that while composing the Dorje Shugden sadhana (prayers) he was filled with a sense of happiness and bliss. He ends the composition with not only his official title but his ordination name, Tenzin Trinley Jigme Choje Wangchuk, endorsing the validity of his work. He composed the sadhana in his own Tashi Lhunpo monastery while in the Hall of Clear Light and Bliss.

“If the Dalai Lama, if His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by Dorje Shugden, then we might as well not practice Buddhism anymore. If His Holiness the Dalai Lama can have his life shortened by a so-called evil spirit, any evil spirit, then can he be Avalokiteshvara? So on one hand you say, we say, I say, everybody says, he is Avalokiteshvara; on the other hand you’re saying that he can be harmed by an evil spirit… Which one is it? Can he be harmed by an evil spirit or is he Avalokiteshvara? Do you think Avalokiteshvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Tara all take refuge in something else to protect themselves from Dorje Shugden? How illogical is that? How illogical of people to say His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by an evil spirit, any evil spirit or “Dorje Shugden” evil spirit. How is that possible?” – Tsem Tulku Rinpoche

Listening to the chanting of sacred words, melodies, mantras, sutras and prayers has a very powerful healing effect on our outer and inner environments. It clears the chakras, spiritual toxins, the paths where our ‘chi’ travels within our bodies for health as well as for clearing the mind. It is soothing and relaxing but at the same time invigorates us with positive energy. The sacred sounds invite positive beings to inhabit our environment, expels negative beings and brings the sound of growth to the land, animals, water and plants. Sacred chants bless all living beings on our land as well as inanimate objects. Do download and play while in traffic to relax, when you are about to sleep, during meditation, during stress or just anytime. Great to play for animals and children. Share with friends the blessing of a full Dorje Shugden puja performed at Kechara Forest Retreat by our puja department for the benefit of others. Tsem Rinpoche

How can a nun curse someone they do not even know and wish the person to die quickly and be born in hell? What kind of nun is this? Shocking! What more she’s cursing a Buddhist teacher and a monk?! Is this the face of Bhutanese Buddhist?

This is so shameful for her as a nun, her teacher, her monastery, her country and her King. A sangha should not behave in such a manner. A Sangha should carry enlightened Buddha’s teachings of compassion and wisdom to benefit all sentient beings.

A Sangha is not supposed to promote hatred and certainly should not be cursing or wishing another person to die. That wish itself is already breaking one of the vows.
A Sangha is one of the 3 Jewels, an object of refuge. They should not behave like an uncivilized person with so much hate. This is how bad the Tibetan Leadership has spread their lies and hate about Dorje Shugden and Shugden Buddhist practitioners.

A true democracy allows everyone the freedom to exercise their human rights, including the freedom to practise any religion they want. In democratic countries, the government does not interfere with this right. Neither are democratic governments prejudiced against their citizens’ choice of religious belief. They do not force people to stop their religious practice or pass legislation criminalising people because of their religion.

The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), the Tibetan leadership who are based in Dharamsala are the exception. They are the only so-called ‘democratic’ leadership that puts a stranglehold on its people, persecuting them for their religious beliefs. They deny the rights of Dorje Shugden practitioners for simply practicing their religion as they have done for the past 400 years. Dorje Shugden practitioners are ostracised from their own community, denied medical care, education or even employment in government offices. The CTA definitely does not live up to the right to be called a democratic administration, especially when in it inflicts suppression of people’s freedom and disrespects basic human rights.

Really feeling great to see this post!
Nepal is such a great place that accepts multiple cultures and religions, and definitely a place with RELIGIOUS FREEDOM.

Dorje Shugden is a world peace Dharma Protector that many Gelug and Sakya high lamas(highly attained Buddhist monks) practice and promote, but the Tibetan Government in Exile* (now known as ‘Central Tibetan Administration’) ban the practice of this Dharma Protector, saying this deity is evil and associated with the China government. Anyone with some sense will think this is ridiculous. What even worse is that the Tibetan Government in Exile not only ban the practice, but also allows and encourage religious discrimination and segregation towards those who practice this deity, and claim that they are upholding religious freedom. Their actions create havoc in India and creating so much domestic issue for the Indian government.

As a Dorje Shugden practitioner, I am very very happy to see the Nepali government is really practicing and supporting religious freedom. Every religion should be free from discrimination, this is a free world. Dorje Shugden practice or any of the Buddhist practice is not out there to convert people, but is to add harmony, peace and calm to the community, society and to the world. May Dorje Shugden’s blessings spread and may all be well.

Can’t wait to visit these 2 holy chapels on my next visit to Nepal. Like my Guru ji H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche, I LOVE NEPAL and wish all the best to our Nepali friends there. Namatse!

It is truly wonderful to have two Dorje Shugden chapels established in the busiest streets for the locals of Kathmandu. It emblazons the teaching of Buddha to be compassionate and generous in sharing the Dharma to all regardless of race, faith and creed. Now, anyone who would like to make a connection with an enlightened protector or simply to get Dorje Shugden’s blessings can visit the chapels. Thank you, Rinpoche and team, for this amazing setup.

We rejoice greatly for the people of Nepal. Dorje Shugden truly transcends all boulders of the World. An Avatar emanation of Buddha Manjushri, the Buddha of Compassion, Dorje Shugden is growing more famously and in great demand all over the world. Our compassionate Guru, Tsem Tulku Rinpoche, with his team of efficient and able helpers established two beautiful and lovely Dorje Shugden chapels in Nepal. One is in Chabahili, established on February, 2018, whereas the other one was at Putalisadak, Choluk, Kathmandu, which was established in Feb. 2016. “Dorje Shugden now seems to be everywhere”, as the blog said. Dorje Shugden seems to have grown to be the needed Protector to one and all, and who requires his protection whenever they wish to travel to various places which are far, prone to natural disasters, and in areas troubled with crime or prone to natural disasters. Even for those sentiernt beings disturbed by powerful spirits of various kinds, the recitation of Bhagawan Dorje Shugden’s Mantra and by generating great Karuna(compassion) will remedy and solve the situations. It is said that the most propitiating of Bhagawan Dorje Shugden consistently overtime, one will be released from and as well as protected from the magic of jealous parties. As a matter of fact, Dorje Shugden is said that he will not harm anyone but he will protect us! As said and written, when someone delves deeper into Dorje Shugden controversy carefully, looking at the facts and propaganda or emotions, we can see how a campaign by Dorje Shugden detractors always disregard religious freedom to almost destroy a very valuable Lineage or practice. It has been said that this a practice that the great and famous Gelupa and Sakya masters, have hailed as all-important and that they have preserved and passed this Lineage from on generation to another for 400 years. After that, it became known to be a major practice in the Sakya tradition before it was embraced by the highest of Gelugpa masters, including His Holiness, The Dalai Lama himself, His Holiness, Kyabje Pabongka, His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche, His Holiness Zong Rinpoche, Ven. Geshe Rabten, Ven. Lama Yeshe and so on. All these events were said to have proceeded Tibet’s Geopolitical issue by a few hundred years. Thus, as our Guru Tsem Rinpoche has said, “To accuse all that all these people are Chinese spies is simply absurd!” Nevertheless, it has never been about Dorje Shugden and whether the practice is good or bad. Whatsoever, we wish gratefully to thank Mr. Martin Desai and Huffington Post for standing up for the truth without fear or favour. However, we also hope that as readers of the public and Dharma practitioners began to read all these, they will begin to understand the real issues behind the conflict, and eventually the healing will begin! Through his wisdom and compassion that transcend all borders and are limitless, the blessings, protection and benefits of Dorje Shugden, an avatar of Buddha Manjushri, reach out to all beings in all directions. Beings of this age have a strong affinity with him as he arose particularly for us to benefit, bless and protect us in this degenerate age.It is wonderful that our most compassionate Guru, Tsem Rinpoche, with the help of a great team of students , has established two lovely exciting Dorje Shugden chapels in Nepal, the land where the people are kind and where spirituality is strong and where one is free to practise , without discriminaton, the path of spirituality of one’s choice.

These two Kathmandu chapels in Putalisadak(the chapel which was opened earlier in February 2016), and in Chabahi(the chapel which was opened in February 2018)have been and will be frequented by locals and visitors . May these two chapels continue to bless the environment and continue to bring blessings of peace and protection and benefits to all who visit them to pray, make offerings and receive blessed pendants and holy sacred items of Dorje Shugden.

Rejoice …..not only one but two beautiful Bhagawan Dorje Shugden Chapels been established in Kathmandu now. More and more people get connected to our Powerful Protector. We have to thank those involved , the many kind and generous sponsors, the supportive authorities concerned to name a few. Without their tireless effort ,there won’nt be two chapels , the first in 2016 and the latest added one in early 2017. The Dorje Shugden is spreading ,it’s a good sign . May the people at the two chapels be blessed. May HH Dalai Lama please lift the ban soon for the benefits of all people around the globe.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this great news .

The opening of Dorje Shugden chapels in the busy streets of Kathmandu is a key milestone, as it signifies the tearing down the invisible barriers in the mind of people; people will feel welcome to worship and receive blessings from Bhagawan Dorje Shugden. To the public of Kathmandu, they are familiar with the streets where the chapels are, making it accessible for them. Coupled with the fact that people can invite the Dorje Shugden free distribution items home; everyone, regardless of creed and faith can make a connection with the divine Dharmapala. How wonderful. Rejoice! This is truly the spirit of Buddhism and made possible through the compassion and grace of His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche. Thank you for this uplifting sharing.

The people in Nepal are so fortunate and blessed to have so many Dorje Shugden chapels for them to visit and pay homage to Dorje Shugden. The chapels are equipped with free brochures and pendants for the benefit of the people who pay homage to Dorje Shugden. They can bring home the brochure to read its benefit and to wear the pendant for protection. They can also light an incense and do light offering to Dorje Shugden in the small yet beautiful chapel. This is indeed a good news for the Nepalist. May there be more Dorje Shugden chapel all over the world to benefit the people.

Good things are to be shared. Dorje Shugden practice brings only benefits, never anything bad. If bad things happens to us, it is because our bad karma has ripened. Dorje Shugden is an enlightened being, He is the emanation of Manjushri Buddha, He will only grant blessings to us.

In this chaotic world, many people have lost their hope, Dorje Shugden brings them hope. I have seen sick people, people who suffer from financial problem, relationship problem, find hope after praying to Dorje Shugden.

I am so happy to see there are now 2 beautiful Dorje Shugden chapels in Nepal. These chapels are built Tsem Rinpoche as a gift to our Nepali friends. May all of them be blessed.

So happy to see another Bhagwan Dorje Shugden chapel being established in Nepal and many more can get the blessing and protection of Bhagwan Dorje Shugden. I have visited the Dorje Shugden chapel in Putalisadak, Kathmandu. It’s really beautiful.

Wishing more can be blessed by Bhagwan Dorje Shugden with more and more Dorje Shugden chapels are being built around Kathmandu. Nepal is definitely a beautiful country, where you can feel the strong spiritual energy; where praying houses, temples and monasteries can be easily found; people here are more spiritual as well. It’s really thoughtful and beautiful to have Dorje Shugden material prepared in many languages, for more to get closer to this powerful Bhagawan or Protector who can bestow with wisdom, health, wealth and protection.

Thanks Rinpoche for this exciting news and footage 🙂

Thank you Rinpoche, Kechara team and sponsors for benefiting many people in Kathmandu by spreading Bhagawan Dorje Shugden practice through Dorje Shugden Chapel in Putalisadak and newly established Dorje Shugden Chapel in Chabahil. Since Dorje Shugden is the emanation of Manjushri Buddha with full of compassion and wisdom to alleviate the suffering of all sentient beings, Dorje Shugden will never be selective to help anyone who pray to Him sincerely, for any kind of help needed. I truly rejoice and glad to read the last line from Rinpoche in this article where more Dorje Shugden chapels will be opened in Nepal. This indicates more people and more sentient beings can receive the blessing and protection from Bhagawan Dorje Shugden in Nepal as Nepal is famous for tourism, mountain trekking and pilgrimage trip for many Buddhists from other parts of the world.

Eventually, may more and more people will be guided by Bhagawan Dorje Shugden to perform virtuous deeds and live in peace with all living beings. May more sponsors or patrons emerge to extend the growth of Dharma and protect everyone against the current degenerating age through Dharma practice. May the ban of Dorje Shugden will be lifted by our respected and ever compassionate His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, for the benefit of many people from around the world to meet and practise Bhagawan Dorje Shugden as the practice of Bhagawan Dorje Shugden can benefit people from all walks of life.

It’s really exciting to see more and more Dorje Shugden chapels sprout in Nepal, and more Dorje Shugden activities happening in Nepal, for instance the recent Dorje Shugden Conference that was held there in January 2018. Nepal is really a beautiful country, and I have always enjoyed my visits there. The people are friendly, and the place is bursting with spiritual energies. The holy blessed pilgrimage sites are vibrant and radiating with positive energies, and I love making butterlamp offerings there.

These chapels are at very accessible areas in Kathmandu, and most things there are provided as free distribution. It is definitely a must visit for locals and for international tourists going to Nepal! Dorje Shugden helps anyone and everyone. We all need some blessings of positivity from time to time, so to go there! I’ve been to the putalisadak chapel, and its’ super!

It seems Dorje Shugden practice is growing bigger in the world. The Tibetan government in exile should not have done all the negative books, videos, website information, online paid social media campaign against Dorje Shugden people as this made them promote Dorje Shugden stronger in Tibet and outside Tibet. They forced the Dorje Shugden people to do more work to bring Dorje Shugden bigger. It seems whatever the Tibetan govt in exile does works out for the worst. Too bad for them. Good for Dorje Shugden people and their new acolytes.

I agree with Carmen. What doesn’t kill us will make us stronger. In Shugden we trust and yes, am proud to be a Shugdenpa. I stand with my Guru and my fellow Shugdenpas who have courageously chosen to make their voice heard even in the face of many challenges and hardships.

  40. Pastor Henry Ooi on Mar 15, 2018 at 3:57 pm

Nepal is indeed a beautiful country steeped in spirituality. I have been to Nepal many times for dharma work on behalf of Rinpoche and Kechara. While Kathmandu and its surrounding areas are nice, the countryside is much nicer with mountains, rivers, lakes and greens. For example, Pokhara in central Nepal, where its city sits on the Phewa Lake. A popular pilgrimage place is Namobuddha, a two hours’ drive by car from Kathmandu. The most visited pilgrimage place is Lumbini, birth place of Lord Buddha. For trekkers and mountaineers, Mount Everest and the Himalayan mountains are the ultimate destinations.

In general, the Nepalis are spiritual, friendly, honest, hardworking. I have not encountered one who spoke badly of other religions. The only people I hear who spoke and acted badly are those in the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA). The CTA, with its hate campaign against Dorje Shugden, caused hatred, disharmony, unrest, and segregation amongst Tibetans living in Nepal. But the tide is now changing because more people are better educated and have easy access to the Internet. Many Nepalis and Tibetans now understand the controversy started by the CTA.

These chapels in Nepal offer the people to seek blessing and assistance from Dorje Shugden. I have Nepali friends who attest to this.

  41. Datuk May on Mar 15, 2018 at 2:35 pm

I rejoice for the citizens of Nepal to have the privilege of two Dorje Shugden chapels in Kathmandu. A Dorje Shugden chapel is like a great “hospital” where our mental and physical ills can be resolved through the kind compassion of Dorje Shugden, the Protector of our times. All we need to possess is the faith and trust and Dorje Shugden will always come to our aid.

As someone who have benefitted so much from Protector Dorje Shugden, I wish all Nepalese be blessed in many ways with the manifestation of Dorje Shugden chapels in Kathmandu.

With deepest gratitude to H.E. the 25th Tsem Rinpoche to have granted this opportunity to the people of Nepal to learn of and obtain the blessings of Dorje Shugden.

Vajrayogini symbolizes the wisdom of all enlightened beings and embodies the impulse of inspiration that drives the Buddhas to attain the perfect enlightenment. Vajrayogini is one of the most effective practices for people today. We can make offerings such as gold or jewel offerings and so on. The offering of gold helps us to collect merits, spiritual attainments, gain a deeper connection to Vajrayogini. It also creates the causes to attain a Buddha’s body.
Make Offerings to Vajrayogini in Kechara Forest Retreat at Bentong is such an meritorious way for us to collect merits. All thanks to our Guru having conceptualised the idea of having a statue of Vajrayogini for everyone . Recitation of Vajrayogini mantra can be a powerful tool for self-transformation, healing and liberation from samsara.

Thank you, Rinpoche for sharing this insightful article. Life is short, and if we enjoy every moment of every day, then we will be happy no matter what happens or what changes along the way. What ever matter to us at the time of death is nothing. In the end, it’s not the years in our life that count it’s what you leave behind that matters. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again.Death is the golden key that opens the palace of eternity. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time. Learning Dharma and practicing dharma is the our choice that’s matter. Some of the key points to take notes, read, study the Lam Rim and apply it, engage in Sadhana daily and consistently. No one will help us at the moment of death but ourselves. Spiritual practicing is the best choice.

Well the size of Buddha statues in Tibetan Buddhism is important because it represents the Buddha’s immense ability and vast knowledge. Hence the Buddha statues hold the symbol of satisfaction within, peace and happiness. They are a symbol of inspiration for every human being. When we focus on the Buddha statues, it gives us inner peace that our mind, our heart and our soul gets enlightened.
We have are so fortunate seeing and circumambulating where the 9-foot Dorje Shugden statue and with 500 mantra stones engraved with Dorje Shugden’s sacred mantra. As Rinpoche had said before the bigger and more Buddha statues helps in planting seeds of enlightenment in people’s mind-streams. It also help us to generate as much merit and purify as much karma as possible. Merely by seeing all those big statues at Kechara Forest Retreat is a blessing.
    Thank you Rinpoche.

The 4th Tagpu Pemavajra Jampel Tenpai Ngodrub, most commonly known as Tagpu Dorje Chang, was a highly accomplished yogi Highly attained lama who had many authentic visions of the Buddhas and even travel astrally to receive direct teachings from them. His recognised line of incarnations stem all the way back to the 14th Century. He is generally regarded as such amongst Gelug lineage holders. He spent most of his time in a hermitage located above Sera Monastery, gave teachings and transmitted many vital practices and lineages to his foremost student Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche. Besides receiving the complete instructions of Dorje Shugden’s practice, Tagpu Dorje Chang had many other mystical experiences throughout his lifetime. Interesting read biography of a highly accomplished mahasiddha lama.

n Tibetan culture, it is a popular and customary practice for families to invite monks to perform spiritual ceremonies such as Trusol rituals. The monks have had the opportunity to offer such ceremonies for individuals or their families. Such ceremonies purify the elements of the environment which helps those living or visiting there to experience good health, success and well-being. The sacred ritual of ‘bathing’ the Buddhas and consecration through which negativities, sicknesses and obstacles will be cleared. Where by filling those areas with positive energies and good vibes through this Trusol consecration puja. Water is an essential part of this puja and symbolises the cleansing of all negativities and impurities. Through this puja it also pacifies local deities and other unseen beings in the surrounding areas. We are indeed fortunate that Tsem Rinpoche has taught Kecharians this practice and it has benefited many.

Reading this post had me gain some knowledge of Shifter Werewolves. Any article regarding rare creatures or paranormal articles are of my interest since young. In European folklore, a werewolf is a man who turns into a wolf at night and devours animals, people, or corpses but returns to human form by day. They have the ability to transform from an ordinary human appearance to a partially-lupine form with pointed ears, mutton chops, claws and fangs, and a ridged brow . Wow… werewolf tends to be vicious and unable to control his blood thirst. Their underlying common origin can be traced back to Proto-Indo-European mythology. In many depictions, these bloodthirsty beasts are evil where they kill animals and innocent people. They are humans who transition into wolf-like creatures, after being placed under a curse. In folklore, most werewolves originate from being cursed or bitten by another werewolf. That’s what they do believe. According many enthusiasts, there’s many different type of werewolves such as Alpha wolves, Beta wolves , Deltas, Elders, some survive as loners while others move in packs. How true it is no one knows. I do believe their existing . Many interesting stories related to these wolves in the past history.

Beautiful Dorje Shugden at Malacca. One should pay a visit there, located at a busy tourist place. It was such an auspicious occasion that a grand Puja was held there. Dedicated students and volunteers were there getting the place ready for the grand puja. Well the Grand Dorje Shugden puja was conducted by very own Kechara puja team to commemorate the chapel’s 3rd anniversary. Many people attended the Puja that’s wonderful to receive the powerful Protector Dorje Shugden blessings. More people will make a connection and get to know Manjushri, the Buddha of Wisdom, in the form of a Dharma Protector. May Dorje Shugden’s practice flourish to benefit those tourists and locals.

Venerable Geshe Rabten Rinpoche is a highly realised meditation master known as a debater, scholar, and meditation master, was the first Tibetan Buddhist master to introduce the complete Vinaya-tradition. He had also introduce the study of the five major topics of Buddhism to the West. He became the ‘path breaker’ of the complete and complex teachings of Buddhism in the West. Many masters, who are famous in the West today, were Geshe’s students. enerable Geshe Rabten. Geshe Rabten wrote the beautiful and Manjushri’s prayer called Gangloma and gave a profound explanation. We are so fortunate to learn about this Manjushri’s sacred prayer. May all be blessed by the practice of Lord Manjushri and Geshe Rabten’s explanation.

The begging bowl or alms bowl is one of the simplest but most important objects in the daily lives of Theravada Buddhist monks. The alms bowl still stands as an emblem of how all Buddhas, as numerous as grains of sand in the Ganges, practiced to end their desire. All those who receive the alms bowl should focus their mind to act with self-control and self-respect. Almsgiving is a tradition of Theravada Buddhists, majority in Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Laos. In those early days of Buddhism, monks would take their bowls and go out begging for food. As today in Thailand one could see monks woke up before dawn every morning and carried his bowl through the roads or paths wherever he was staying. Local people would place food in the bowl as a donation, through the generosity of lay people. They accept whatever food is offered for them and eat whatever been given, serve as a blessing for the giver.
One bowl has held the food of a thousand families. A solitary monastic travels on his journey of a hundred thousand miles seeking liberation from the cycle of birth and death.
Thank you H.E. Tsem Rinpoche for explaining the meaning of begging and gave us more reasons to be vegetarian . Create a awareness among us not killing animals to be one.

The Tibetan diaspora began in 1959 after the People’s Liberation Army entered the country. Thousands of Tibetan and the Dalai Lama fled into exile to India. The Indian government led by Jawaharlal Nehru kind enough to offer land which was scattered throughout the country. The Tibetans as refugees on which the Tibetans would be able to reestablish themselves. After 60 years of protests, campaigns and fundraising, the Tibetan movement has not been fruitful, increase the living welfare condition and Tibetans continue to depend on the kindness of their host countries. Due to these many Tibetan in exile left India to elsewhere and other countries seeking a better future. In the last 60 years, the Tibetan leadership have not been successful in making progress with their political goals. Surprisingly the Tibetan Spiritual leader Dalai Lama said in an interview published letter that Europe has accepted “too many” refugees . While there is many protests and attempts to pressure Europe to accept more refugees.
Further more the unethical ban against Shugden making life more difficult for many Dorje Shugden practitioners . Because of the ban against Dorje Shugden the whole Tibetan Buddhist world is divided until now. May all be harmonious soon even recently .Dalai Lama had said we could practice Interesting read. The Kalmyks are the only traditionally Buddhist people living within Europe. As Tibetan Buddhists, the Kalmyks regard the Dalai Lama as their spiritual leader. Kalmykia is a historical crossroads on the Silk Road. The Western Mongol Kalmyk tribes. The Kalmyks live primarily in the Republic of Kalmykia, a federal subject of Russia located in the southeast European part of Russia. The Kalmyks are the only inhabitants of Europe whose national religion is Buddhism. They embraced Buddhism in the early part of the 17th century and belong to the Tibetan Buddhist. Like other Mongols, the Kalmyk are very spiritual Tibetan Buddhists, but their Buddhism has a strong admixture of indigenous beliefs and shamanistic practices. Buddhism spread among Mongols during the time of the Mongol Empire. They have come a long way till now, with rich traditions in song, dance, music, arts and a powerful heritage ,strong convictions.

Silver, gold, lead, copper, and iron which is the five metals. It is said to be able to absorb all negative energy, spread positivity, and destroy all dangerous energies. Wearing yellow during Thaipusam as Lord Murugan’s favourite colour. Well Yellow is also associated with new beginnings, peace and happiness. On that day many devotees will be wearing yellow in color. Devotees will carry heavy ornate structures called kavadis while others have their tongues, cheeks and backs pierced with hooks and skewers. They then walk barefoot up 272 steps to the Batu Caves temple. Women devotees will carry the milk pots on that day. Thousands of locals and tourist from around the world of different faith will be there to witness this auspicious festival.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

Dorje Shugden controversy began when the Dalai Lama made successive attempts to wrongly assert the nature of the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden to be a harmful spirit. The great lineage masters such as Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche and Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche’s teachings are amongst the greatest dharma that forms the foundation of Gelugpa education. As confirmed that Dorje Shugden is an emanation of Manjushri. Dorje Shugden is an enlightened Dharma Protector who manifested about 400 years ago from a lineage of erudite masters. They cant be wrong . Dorje Shugden via the Panglung oracle had helped the Dalai Lama in his great escape out of Tibet. There are so many highly attained lamas who practices Dorje Shugden and their reincarnations have been coming back again and again. Even 5th Dalai Lama composed a prayer to Dorje Shugden and built a Protector chapel dedicated to Dorje Shugden as well. That’s Trode Khangsar in Central Lhasa which is still there. The ban of Dorje Shugden is unnecessary and illogical as the bigger purpose of Dorje Shugden,is the preservation of the Dharma. The Tibetan Leadership (CTA) has instituted this ban against Dorje Shugden for many years and its time to lift the ban. May more people read and understand the ban and the real reason behind this controversy.
Thank you Rinpoche and Pastor David for sharing this post.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
