Mother Tara spotted in Bangkok!
You know we were driving to Wat Po, the Royal Palace area and it took us around 1.45 hours for a normally 25 min ride due to very heavy traffic. At many places we were at a standstill. At one of these standstills, I looked out of the window and guess what??!! I spotted a Tara image in the busiest part of town outside a major shopping mall! I couldn’ t believe my eyes. I alerted everyone in the vehicle with me and they were like no it’s not Tara and I was like YES IT IS!!! We went later on and to visit and for sure it was Tara. She has a special dome built over Her with many offerings to Her. Hundreds of people pass by and folded their hands to Her we joyously observed. It was such a beautiful spiritual experience in the middle of metropolitan super busy and modern Bangkok.
This is something I like about Thailand so much. The ancient, the modern, the secular and the spiritual all married together into a wonderful symphony of daily existence. No matter how busy the locals were, so many would fold their hands to Tara as they walked by.
Well, see the video and pictures….enjoy it…and I hope this will happen in the middle of many many many other cities in the world. Tara’s energy revitalizes beings.. She is pure compassion, love, forgiveness, skillful quick means, wisdom, understanding and enlightenment all wrapped up in one. Anyone viewing Her, seeing Her, paying homage to Her, and making offerings to Her creates the seed causes of becoming an enlightened being…Tara is a powerful and gentle energy that is so perfect to be in the middle of a great city like Bangkok. If you are in Bangkok, do visit Tara.

Bangkok is the capital and most populous city of Thailand. It’s also one of the most interesting cities in Thailand and all of Asia. More than 400 temples, remarkable palaces and floating markets help make Bangkok the captivating city it is today and a destination tourists love to travel.
Bangkok is home to many stunning temples , hence its not surprised that there is a Tara image in the busiest part of town of Bangkok. Located just outside a major shopping mall where by locals and tourist could noticed it and pay homage to this Mother Tara. I have not visited this Mother Tara yet but would love to someday.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.
It’s very very blessed and wonderful to see mother Tara in Bangkok city to bless everyone who passes that place. Mother Tara is my favorite protectress. Thank you Rinpoche and blog team for sharing this lovely information to let everyone know so that they can try to visit this place.🌈😍🙏👍👏
One of the reasons I enjoyed Thailand very much is the statues and Wats aplenty all over the place. Even so, it is unusual to find the holy Green Tara statue, what more right smack in one of the busiest district in Bangkok. Green Tara made the vow to always return as a female Bodhisattva to free sentient beings from samsaric suffering. Hence it is truly a blessing to have Tara’s shrine! May everyone be blessed. Thank you for this sharing.
I had been here for few times and I alert this goddess but not sure is Tara. This place is very busy because many tourists visit Big C supermarket to buy some Thailand local foods. Thai people really much respect to any Buddha statue, they will folded hands when they passby Tara statue .
There are few Hindu Buddha or Deities around this area. Erawan Shrine and Ganesha are the most popular.
I wish more Buddha statues will be build up to bless more people.

This is wonderful to see Tara placed in front of Big C Shopping centre- Bangkok.
By having this Tara statue, many people including the foreign tourists will be blessed and plant positive imprint when they see this beautiful Tara. Furthermore, the people can make offerings to Tara and this help them collect merits that eventually lead to achieve liberation and happiness of enlightenment.

Dear Rinpoche, I’ve had the vegetarian hot pot at MK restaurant a couple of times and yes, it is delicious! Thank you for the heads up.
Thanks Rinpoche for the sharing
I had visited this Tara last year. I love outdoor Buddha statue so much. And this is outdoor Tara in Thailand!!! Which is very rare in Thailand.
I also bought some offering and done a short prayer in front of this Tara.
May Mother Tara bless the Bangkok citizen.
我到过泰国无数次,却没发现这度母佛像,下次计划去泰国一定要把朋友也带去一起点个灯和上个香,让大家和度母结个愿。
Oh how fabulous to see this! Tara is not really a common Buddha in Thailand and to see her right outside a busy shopping complex is super awesome! How lucky for the people who pass by her daily and receive her blessings. And I love those little Thai dolls the people offered up to her, they really look like her dakinis! Perhaps the owner of the shopping mall is a Tibetan Buddhist
This form of Green Tara is the main general activity form… she gives blessing to remove attachments and the 8 fears… Tara’ means ‘Rescuer’. She is so called because she rescues us from the eight outer fears (the fears of lions, elephants, fire, snakes, thieves, water, bondage, and evil spirits), and from the eight inner fears (the fears of pride, ignorance, anger, jealousy, wrong views, attachment, miserliness, and deluded doubts). Temporarily Tara saves us from the dangers of rebirth in the three lower realms, and ultimately she saves us from the dangers of samsara and solitary peace. Nice!!!
Thanks for the sharing, Rinpoche. It is amazing that the buddha can be find nearby the shopping mall. it great that everyone pass by can get the blessing. If got chance, i hope can visit this green Tara.
Wow! Tara in front of Big C to bless people who walk pass by. Big C rachaprasong is full with crowd in the morning and evening. I’m so rejoice with the person who set up this shrine as so many people being blessed from seeing tara image and also able to make offering to make a connection with her.
I would like to visit there one day. This is such a beautiful Tara. I never thought Tara would be in Thailand as well 😀
wow – what a beautiful and amazing Tara. .
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing pictures and stories on your visit to Thailand. I feel as though I am visiting Thailand without actually being there. I am amazed there is such a big Tara statue in the midst of such a high traffic area in Thailand. I have always thought that Thai people practice pure Theravada tradition. I guess Thai people do have affinity with Vajrayana Buddhism from the fact that Rinpoche and the Tara statue being there!
Thank you, Rinpoche, for continuing to share pictures of lovely holy places you have visited in your current travels to Penang, Kelantan and now Bangkok.
Yes, it’s truly amazing to find beautiful Tara in the midst of the hustle and bustle of busy metropolitan Bangkok. The people of Bangkok are truly spiritual as is evidenced by their show of devotion to Tara in their offerings of flowers, dolls and a light that is kept burning likely all the time.
The incredible and beautiful thing about the spirituality there is that it is open spirituality, not boxed in by labels like Theravada Buddhism.
These are beautiful! I love Tara and she is what brought me to Buddhism. Thank you again, Rinpoche, for sharing these lovely photos and video.
Thank you so much dear Rinpoche !!!
Om Tare Tuttare Soha…
Thank Rinpoche and everyone for this wonderful post. Cant wait to visit Bangkok AGAIN! My most favorite city to go….I will go visit Mother Tara when I do.
Dear Rinpoche, thank you very much for sharing the photos in KB and Bangkok. This Tara statue is so beautiful with clear details and the Tara dolls are so cute. I notice that the Thais like to paint their statues in gold. Will certainly visit this Tara when i have the opportunity to go Bangkok. In busy Sukhumvit and Silom areas are many small temples and statues which you can pass if you walk along the streets.
Incredible! Mother Tara in Bangkok!! She’s so close to us.
This is truly wonderful to see, Rinpoche. Thank you for sharing it, I hope your journey continues to uncover precious jewels for us all to enjoy!
