Acupuncture gets clean bill of health from NIH
I myself have gone for acupuncture treatment numerous times and I can truly see a massive difference in my previous health problems before and after treatment. Most of the needle points do not hurt at all, but just a few could feel some pain as the meridian line was not clear. Once cleared, if the needle is inserted you will not feel anything.
When I twist a bone, a finger, a toe, a muscle or tendon, the Chinese acupuncturist doctors are very excellent for cure. They do not need X-ray or casts, they can use massage, use herbs and acupuncture to completely heal it.
Around ten years back I had a fall an had a hairline fracture on my right arm. I went for treatment, massage, herbal wrap for 6 weeks. After 6 weeks my arm was normal. One of my other friends said go for a X-ray to make sure. I did, after X-ray, the doctor said I had a hairline crack and it has healed very well. It shows clearly on the X-ray. He asked me how long was I in a cast. I explained to him I didn’t have a cast, but a Chinese doctor healed me…The doctor at the X-ray clinic was amazed. So was I. This happened to me. From then on I go regularly for medical problems with Chinese traditional doctors. Very good. I highly recommend.
I like acupuncture for headaches and migraines also. It has reduced my migraines by around 80% so far. The frequency and intensity of the migraines are MUCH LESS….as I said around 80%. It takes a few months of treatment, but it’s worth it. And the results last. Somtimes, when the needles are inserted within 10 mins the migraine will completely subside. This has happened many times to me and my friends who have tried.. You cannot go to any doctor for this, you must make sure he is well trained and must get references first of course.
Before coming to Malaysia I have never tried any Traditonal doctors or acupuncture in my life. But after my treatments, I have 100% convictions for many problems, it is effective.

I rejoice that Acupuncture has helped Rinpoche so much. I personally like acupuncture too and think it is a very good way to heal without secondary effects.
I hope that Traditional Chinese Medicine will spread more and more as the benefits are obvious and manyfold.
Dear Rinpoche,
Traditional Chinese medicine have its place in the heart of locals in Malaysia, especially those living in small towns. However, I do believe that both western and oriental medicine have its perks in different situations and illnesses. Acupuncture is known to be extremely good with pain management which is drug free. Most importantly is to know what your body prefers. Some do well with western medicine but some don’t and vice versa. I’m glad TCM able to relief Rinpoche’s discomfort.
Humbly,
Chris Chong
I have been to both western and eastern doctors. There are doctors who believe in both types of treatments and there are those who swore the other will do more harm than good. I think the best is for us to listen to our body and what our experiences are telling us. There is no right or wrong with either type of treatment.
However, the west has been skeptic of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) such as acupuncture for a long time. While it has gained popularity and is not entire foreign in western countries it lacks official approval. So it is a big step and god news to the National Institute of Health in US to finally acknowledge and endorse acupuncture.
Yes, I also tried acupuncture which gives immediate relief to acute pains. It is also very effective for Tension, acute and chronic sprain of joints, neck stiffness, shoulder pain, back pain, cervical and lumbar radiculopathy, osteoarthritis, stroke rehabilitations, facial palsy, functional dyspepsia, Irritable Bowel syndrome and many more.
I have tried acupuncture for pain relief it is very effective. Sometimes the treatments do take a longer time, as the treatment focuses on the root of the causes rather than the symptoms. In the hands of a skilled physician a patient can get a lot of healing. I wonder if there would emerge in the future Western and eastern medicine able to work in tandem to bring relief to patients.
Since young, i was always afraid of Chinese herbs, medicines and acupuncture. Maybe because they always associate with bitterness, needles and strong herb smell. Now I’ve grown, i remembered one time i had really bad backache. No matter how i take medicines and it was still there.
Then my friend recommended me to go see a chinese doctor. And she performed acupuncture and prescribe me chinese medicine. After 2 days or so, I was thinking nothing had worked, the pain was still there. But on the 3rd day the pain completely gone. Then I remembered something that my friend said: “chinese medicine treated the root of the problem… so it takes a longer time to heal unlike any other medicine that just suppressed the pain… and the root problem is not heal.” So i think it is very effective.
I use to scare Acupuncture but once I tried it, I found it very effective. Later when i look at books about Acupuncture, it is amazing that Chinese found out all the meridian points and how the system work thousand years ago.
Always when come to spiritual practice, many people want proof then they will belief and maybe consider to practice.
Like Acupuncture, we just need to experience it.
I like going for acupuncture treatment when I have a very bad stiff neck, feel under the weather, insomnia and have a flu. It is very effective. It’s great that Western medicine is now using acupuncture as a complementary treatment.
My best experience with acupuncture’s effectiveness is when I came down with a flu a few months ago. I felt totally drained during the flu but I had lots to do at work. So I decided to get acupuncture treatment to expedite the healing process.
Immediately after the treatment, I felt 80% better. I was amazed! By the end of the day, I felt normal again. I didn’t take any medication at all during the course of recovery.
i used to scare of acupunture untill recently that i fell down and twisted my ankle just a few days before my importance trip. Well..i could not cancel my trip and my friend told me that only way to get it heal fast is to do acupunture. i dare not to look at needles at the beginning when the doctor stated to do it, surprisely it was not that pain like i thought and i came back for second treatment after that. Ofcourse the result my ankle become normal in few days and i can traveling without pain.
i glad to know that Rinpoche get a good treatment and it help/impove Rinpoche health.
I’m glad that Rinpoche’s health is well and benefiting from acupuncture. The funny thing is that I’m working in health industry and my job is often to advise my client to manage their injury actively ( e.g healthy diet/exercise,self pacing with pain) and not to rely on passive treatment e.g massage, acupuncture etc.
Personally i love acupuncture and massage too, but my professional taught me to educate and empower patient to take control over their sickness through proper self management.
In all, I think a combination of both is good, staying active is the especiallY the key:=) Wish that everyone’s in good health and happiness.
This is encouraging news as finally acupuncture, the ancient alternative Chinese medicine got recognised by the Western traditional medicine.
I am also a fan of acupunture, simply becasue I have tried it myself and it really works like what Rinpoche has said.
Acupuncture can prevent, treat and reduce certain ailments, and as a general support for good health. it can stimulate and revive your organs to do the jobs they are supposed to do.
Like a maintenance program, even if you have no major health issue, I still think it is good to be “poked” (not painful at all for those who have never tried it)just to keep our organs in tip top conditions.
