CANCER FOR BREAKFAST?

Jan 16, 2012 | Views: 1,423

Bacon and sausages coupled with an egg… the perfect American breakfast? Bad news, my dear friends… America’s favorite breakfast option has now been proven to increase the risk of cancer!!

A research was recently done by the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, and they have found that eating 50 grams of processed meat a day can increase the risk of pancreatic cancer by 19%. This was reported by dailychilli.com, the hot news section of The Star publications.

Many other research have been done to show that eating meat will increase risk of us getting cancer…

Do take a look at the interesting statistics from the news report. Eating less meat or going vegetarian is essential if you are really concerned about your health…

Bacon increases risk of cancer

Eating two rashers of bacon or one sausage a day can increase your risk of a deadly form of cancer by almost a fifth, according to a new study.

New research by the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, has found that eating 50g of processed meat a day can increase the risk of pancreatic cancer by 19%.

For people consuming 100g of processed meat, the increased risk jumps to 38% and is 57% for those eating 150g a day.

But experts cautioned that the overall risk of pancreatic cancer was relatively low. In the UK, the lifetime risk of developing the disease is one in 77 for men and one in 79 for women.

Nevertheless, the disease is deadly – it is frequently diagnosed at an advanced stage and kills 80% of people in under a year.

Only 5% of patients are still alive five years after diagnosis.

The study, published in the British Journal of Cancer, is based on data from 11 studies including 6,643 cases of pancreatic cancer.

They found inconclusive evidence on the risks of eating red meat overall compared to eating no red meat.

They found a 29% increase in pancreatic cancer risk for men eating 120g per day of red meat but no increased risk among women.

This may be because men in the study tended to eat more red meat than women.

They concluded: “Findings from this meta-analysis indicate that processed meat consumption is positively associated with pancreatic cancer risk.

“Red meat consumption was associated with an increased risk of pancreatic cancer in men. Further prospective studies are needed to confirm these findings.”

This is such a convincing evidence to tell one should stop eating meat. Bacon is same as any other smoked, cured and processed meats are usually treated with nitrates or nitrites chemical added to preserve shelf life and enhance color. Diets high in processed meats have been linked to chronic health conditions such as migraines, asthma, heart failure, kidney disease and several types of cancer. Therefore it is not wise to consume meat. Many times, it is our negative habits that bring us to this unhealthy diet. We just need to be aware and discipline on food intake and exercise.Thank you Rinpoche and blog team for sharing this informative article. .???

Eating bacon wrapped sausages is an easy and quick breakfast but the consequence of eating could cause more harmful. The processed meat of bacon, sausages ,ham and other processed meats are highest risk of carcinogens, that causes death threatening diseases . The World Health Organization proven that eating processed meat can cause cancer particularly colon cancer. Scientist has proven that red meat too is bad for our health. Being a vegetarian is the right choice to stay healthy or at least meatless. Consuming no meat or less meat we can help to save more live stocks and to save ourselves too,
    Thank you Rinpoche for sharing.

Process food is never good for health. It usually contains high sodium, colouring, preservative and some unnatural ingredients to make it taste ‘real’. It is not surprise that it will deteriorate our health when taken often in a long term.

Therefore, it is always advisable to eat a healthy balance and natural food. Many times, it is our negative habits that bring us to this unhealthy diet. We just need to be aware and discipline on food intake and exercise.

    Dear Rinpoche,

Thank you for sharing this information on Bacon is causing cancer. Bacon has always been the favourite breakfast for american country. It is like their must have in the morning. Actually not only bacon in their breakfast menu had been giving problems to them. Typical American breakfast consist of high protein and high fat had caused a lot of problems in the kids. Examples will be obesity and early sexual maturation in girls. The age where they hit puberty had been getting earlier and earlier in their adolescence years.

Despite of the killing for the meat, they have to endure health problems as well.

    Humbly,
    Chris

The more I learn about meat-eating, the less I see a reason to do it. “It’s delicious” does not compare to “you may get cancer / heart disease / diabetes!” I mean, I know I’m not exactly scheduled to live long (judging from my history of mysterious illnesses hehehe) but I’d like to do all I can to not hasten the process 😛

Seriously though, just saying “it’s delicious” does not justify meat-eating. It’s as if you’re saying there’s nothing vegetarian that’s delicious, which is grossly untrue. Saying something is ‘delicious’ also does not justify the death of an animal.

Is cancer delicious? Is chemotherapy delicious? Is bacon worth the cancer? Is bacon worth the hormones pumped into pigs to get them nice and fat before they’re sent to the slaughter?

People try and justify meat-eating by saying it’s necessary (untrue; I’m not exactly supermodel skinny from eating veggies) or that it’s part of our evolution (untrue; we aren’t cavemen anymore, we don’t need meat for bigger brains). At the end of the day, it all boils down to this which most people don’t have the guts to say – I don’t care about another being’s pain and suffering, I only care about myself.

  7. Beatrix Ooi on Jan 26, 2016 at 3:32 am

Human life is a very precious rebirth, therefore personally I find it very “wasted” sorry for lack of a better word, to die of cancer that is caused by our diets. Cancer is very common nowadays, it’s almost like flu, about 40% of the friends I know have cancer. Some made it, some did not. We should be responsible for our own body and life, because when we are sick, we burden our family members or friends.

Before I became a vegetarian, I really really loved sausage, to the extent that I’d eat it almost every meal. Later when I found out how it was made, I felt disgusted and I slowly cut off the “craving” towards it. I’m glad that I made that decision earlier, not that I’m 100% cancer proof but there’s one less thing on the list that’d precipitate the cancer cells in my body.

I hope more people will realise the seriousness of this matter and choose to take on a vegetarian/ vegan diet. It’s not easy at first, nothing is, but slowly we’ll get used to it and we will definitely see some changes in our body, we will feel lighter and healthier.

  8. Edward ooi on Feb 11, 2014 at 12:30 am

Dear Rinpoche, that means many of my friends are in danger. Because almost everyday they consume about 2 sausages at school. I’ve already explained politely to them and yet they still wouldn’t take my advice. I ask them to try to be vegetarian for only one week but they still refuses to do it. I will try harder to help them to be healthier.

There are so many health cautions for consuming meat, but yet no one makes it a point to tell the world about it. Constantly hiding all these health issues from the eyes of the public. How is this even possible that we lie to others, not even caring for them if they past away or something. Does it mean that by allowing others to also suffer from cancer, then we will be able to get the cure for cancer faster? It would only kill more people, not benefitting anyone in the end!

  10. Jean Mei on May 11, 2013 at 12:31 am

After reading more and more posts on this blog, there seems to be an increasing overwhelming amount of evidence that there really is no benefit from eating meat… apart from the fact that it tastes good.

However, that “good” taste is purely subjective.

I used to LOVE fried chicken. Thinking that nothing else could taste better in the world… except for perhaps, minced beef with basil Thai sauce.

I’ve been vegetarian for 3 years now and can honestly say that the smell of chicken and minced beef is nauseating! I have to control myself from puking when I walk into a kitchen that cooks meat, or a wet market.

It’s a little dramatic, but it goes to show that what we perceive as delicious is interchangeable and not in any way set in stone. Meat tastes good coz we are used to the texture, the taste and because thousands of people have experimented the best combination of ingredients and cooking method to make it taste good.

All that I can say is, try a good vegetarian restaurant and you wouldn’t crave for the taste of flesh again!

It reinforces the fact that the choices we make from selfish wants and desires often have dire circumstances.

This is yet another feather in a vegetarians hat! Being vegetarian not only saves the lives of the animals you put on your plate but also yourself!

      Very well said!

It has been proven that Red Meat is really bad for health.

      Read here: http://blog.tsemtulku.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/animals-vegetarianism/harvard-proves-eating-red-meat-shortens-lives.html

And on top of that, processed meat is even worst. The chemical additives and also the unhygienic machinery that produces these processed meat are certainly a health disaster. Not to mention that the meat they use for these processed meat are not screened, animals that have cancerous tumors, or even diseased animals are just thrown into machine to be processed.

I remember watching a video on McDonalds factory and the way the killed the chickens that are to be made into the McNuggets that so many people love is just grotesque… They would throw the chicken against the wall, step on them etc… horrible…

What an informative read. Who says that a Buddhist monk’s blog should only be about BUddhism? =D
I used to LOVE bacon and sausages for breakfast. Ever since my sister and I adopted the vegetarian diet, we no longer consume this. I am proud to say that I USED to love this, but no longer will I consume this as not only it is detrimental to my health, it hurts the lives of the animals as well. We should really think twice about consuming meat now. Help ourselves as well as the animals. =)
    Pass me the beans! hehe

I used to love eating sausages. Especially if stay in hotels, then will go for their bacon and ham during breakfast. After reading so many articles from Rinpoche on the bad effects on our health, I have stopped eating. Now I eat oats, grained bread or protein powder as my breakfast. I feel healthier and good that I am not eating meat which had caused so much suffering to the animal that was slaughtered.

  15. edward ooi on Nov 13, 2012 at 3:38 pm

Thank you Rinpoche for posting this post. I found that Americans get most of their cancer from eating their meal. Don’t kill animals for your food and that happens when your karma comes back.

I used to love eating sausage and bacon for breakfast without having a thought on the side effect of eating them. I am glad I have stopped eating those once I stopped taking meat about 2 years back. I am now taking cereals for breakfast as an alternative which I find is healthier and easier to prepare.

The Asian has their own version of sausages. For Chinese it is known as Lap Cheong, we have it deep fried. It is very commonly made during Chinese New Year. I never like it because it is very oily and I felt uncomfortable with my stomach after eating it, I might even get a sore throat as well! It has a lot of seasoning, maybe some people like the strong taste and the texture. 🙁

  22. wah ying on Jun 25, 2012 at 3:23 am

I used to like sausage, however when I was told the process and ingredients of sausage, I dare not to eat sausages anymore.

We normally see meat of animals in supermarket, which sliced and packed nicely and displayed on shelf. Some of us never see a real chicken, because they buy everything that is processed.

And, conveniently, we choose to forget where we get our food from, forget the pain would be inflicted to a chicken or cow when we can’t see how they were slaughtered and treated in farms.

By buying processed and nicely packed meat from supermarket etc we pretend there are no pain or sufferings happen in the whole process, everything are just so clean and nice. And deep inside we know that’s not the case, but we choose to deny it…

  23. nicholas on Jun 16, 2012 at 11:55 pm

So much research proven the contribution of bad health due to eating meat and even cause of death. What else need to be done to make people realize?

Being vegetarian bring so much benefit not just towards our health but for other too, i.e no animal should be killed, don’t create the cause for others to kill to satisfy our taste bud,

Those animals deserve to be love and if we can’t treat them well but at least don’t harm them. They deserve to live like us too.

  24. Wan Wai Meng on Feb 5, 2012 at 5:12 pm

We don’t have to eat meat just due to promise or spirituality, but purely out of health or environmental reason are really superb. Health wise well we all know what kinds of chemicals, medicine, antibiotics are put into the animals how much healthier will we be by eating a pumped up flesh filled with an assortment of chemicals? Mixing all the chemicals into the meat is obviously a concoction that no one has done research into so why risk it.

In terms of the environment there are statistics that say 18% of the methane gas are generated by the livestock animals, and methane gases are one of the key components contributing to global warming, I mean think of the many countries. lives and people who live near coastal regions soon those places will be uninhabitable, people will be displaced their livelihoods will be affected and so will the polar bears lose the ice caps that have been their source for the hunting etc… What we eat has a lot of consequences!

  25. Hui Keng on Jan 19, 2012 at 9:08 pm

Food products like bacon and sausages found on grocery store in bags or boxes are in fact processed, as it is not in its natural form. Many of the ingredients in processed foods such as artificial colourants, preservatives and nitrites have been linked to obesity and cancer.

Yes, they are convenient for breakfast but deadly.

I used to LOVE bacon and ham for breakfast…with this report..I am SO GLAD I stopped taking them. My son loves bacon… I have to advice him from consuming too much meat for is own health. I have a friend that going thru her chemo now. Nutritionist prescribed her to eat 7 portions of meat (fish, pork, chicken or egg) daily, so that she will hv enough protein. 1 portion of meat is equal to the size of a matches box.

Many research already showing the risk of getting cancer for eating meat, how come nutritionist still adviced patient to eat such a large portion of meat? Aren’t they putting the patient’s health at risk and they might assisting the patient to die faster? Can’t they find protein from plant?

  29. Mc on Jan 16, 2012 at 10:41 am

Thank you for this post and especially the statistics. Also interesting is the corresponding story (link Many research). Its is utter madness to continue to eat meat knowing all these facts, especially when there is just so much more better alternatives now. I think the real problem is not so much not knowing about the risks of consuming processed meats ad other kinds of meat. After all facts abound these days. The real problem is the unwillingness to take on a HABIT.

Losar is the Tibetan New Year, a festival that marks the beginning of the year on the Tibetan calendar. It is celebrated among the Tibetan community all over the world recently. Losar marks the beginning of the Tibetan calendar year a time for family gatherings, religious ceremonies, and feasting because of its long history and rich cultural traditions. The celebrations will last for 15 days whereby the first three days being the most important day for them and widely celebrated festival on the Tibetan calendar. During theTibetan New Year, Panglung Oracles are known to enter a trance state, of the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden. This practice is considered a significant part of the Losar celebrations within the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, providing guidance and blessings to those seeking their wisdom. People often consult the Panglung oracles to receive predictions, advice, and blessings for the coming year. Dorje Shugden will also give teachings while in trance of an oracle.
Reading this old blog again where back in 2022, the Great Protector Dorje Shugden gave an inportant message to everyone of us. We should take it seriously practising good virtues, such as prostrating ,making offerings and practise the holy Dharma. Everyone should always be kind-hearted and doing our best to cultivate loving-kindness, compassion and bodhicitta.

Pemayangtse Monastery is a Buddhist monastery in Sikkim, India that is part of the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. It is one of the oldest and most famous monasteries in Sikkim. It is home to Dorje Shugden, a spirit in Tibetan tradition. The monastery is one of the oldest and most famous in Sikkim. Pemayangtse Monastery in Sikkim, founded by Lhatsun Namkha Jigme of the Nyingma tradition. One of the earliest modern academic references to Dorje Shugden. Stunning sculptures, paintings and ancient scrolls can be found in the Monastery. Interesting story behind this monastery,as described by Lieutenant Colonel Laurence Austine Waddell a British explorer, collector and author. Through the years of travelling in India, Sikkim and areas on the borders of Nepal and Tibet, after doing research on Tibetan Buddhist religious practices he made a stunning discovery. He discovered that Dorje Shugden existence in the Nyingma monastery as written in his book, which confirmed that Dorje Shugden been worshipped in the Nyingma as well . Not only worshipped in the Gelug lineage but held prominence in the Nyingma tradition too. Interesting read.

Inspiring read, revisit again to refresh about an important lama. Venerable Geshe Thupten a Tibetan great scholars and master who founded Tibetan schools in exile. He who had upheld the lineage of Lord Buddha’s liberating teachings and his practice of Dorje Shugden. Even though in exile Geshe Thupten Lama worked tirelessly for the Tibetan government yet just because he did expressed his views openly, and bravely regarding banning the practice of Dorje Shugden. After serving the Tibetan government for so many years, Geshe Thupten Lama is threatened and branded a Chinese spy. He left to the USA and wrote The Supreme Path to the Trikaya where he commented detailed explanations on the practice of the Six Paramitas or the Six Perfections, and other beneficial Dharma treasures.

Historically, the Panchen Lama was second only to the Dalai Lama in spiritual authority within the Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism.
The 10th Panchen Lama, believed to be an emanation of Amitabha himself. The 10th Panchen Lama saw auspicious signs after completing the prayer text or Sungbum to Dorje Shugden. He had strong feelings that Dorje Shugden has been working hard to protect the Buddha Dharma in general and especially the lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa . Like thousands of other great beings, the Panchen Lama had relied on Dorje Shugden, been practiced in his monastery, Tashi Lhunpo until his end. Hundreds thousands of people would his attend public discourses each time.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this precious texts with us. May everyone be blessed by this powerful composition by H H Panchen Lama propitiating the compassionate Dorje Shugden.

Tales of supernatural creatures like Bigfoot, aliens, trolls, little people are always my reading interest. Came across this old blog about Dark Watchers so interesting.
The Dark Watchers known by early Spanish settlers as Los Vigilantes Oscuros. Is a name given to a group of entities in California folklore purportedly seen observing travellers along the Santa Lucia Mountains. The earliest written accounts of the Dark Watchers date back to the 1700s, when Spanish colonists called them los vigilantes oscuros. According to Chumash folklore, the Dark Watchers are shadowy figures that stand atop the lofty heights, silently observing the land below. The Dark Watchers are mysterious, tall, shadowy figures that have been reported in California for centuries. They are often described as wearing cloaks and hats, and are said to appear around twilight. Whatever scary it looks we have Dorje Shugden to protect us. Even though there are spirits every where seen or not seen by our naked eyes we should leave them un disturb as it is. I do believe its existence every where day and night.
Thank you Rinpoche sharing this with us.

Revisit this blog again and again as its such an interesting blog with awesome stories to share. All about a great Gelugpa lama . Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was a scholar, an abbot, a Dharma teachers and he was also a healer. He was an important Gelugpa lama and a contemporary of the 5th Dalai Lama. Tulku Drakpa Gyaltsen was the erudite high lama who arose as the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden, regarded as an emanation of the Wisdom Buddha Manjushri. During the era of the Great Fifth Dalai Lama, Dorje Shugden took rebirth in the form of a very special incarnate lama. Just imagine at the age of 2 or 3, he was already speaking and playing with ritual instruments and having clear visions of meditational deities and enlightened beings. Apparently, he had also received many direct visions of deities and exalted Gurus from a very young age. Tulku Drakpa Gyaltsen and the 5th Dalai Lama shared a very respectful and close relationship. As results there’s jealousy among officers of 5th Dalai Lama resulting in the murder of Tulku Drakpa Gyaltsen. As an apology to Dorje Shugden for the murder the 5th Dalai Lama crafted a statue and even composed an apologetic prayer. Buddhism is one of the recognized religions in Indonesia, with a long history in the country. The largest Buddhist temple in the world, Borobudur, is located in Central Java. Buddhism arrived in Indonesia in the sixth century. The history of Buddhism in Indonesia is closely related to the history of Hinduism. The Indonesian archipelago has, over the centuries, witnessed the rise and fall of powerful Buddhist empires. A number of Buddhist sites and artifacts related to Indonesia’s historical heritage can be found in Indonesia. As such the 8th century Borobudur mandala monument and Sewu temple in Central Java and numerous statues or inscriptions from the earlier history of Indonesian Hindu-Buddhist kingdoms. Interesting read. Many Buddhist sites, stupas, temples, and manuscripts were lost or forgotten with since the arrival of Islam. Once a year, thousands of Buddhists from Indonesia and neighboring countries flock to Borobudur to commemorate the national Waisak Day. The Borobudur Temple Compounds is one of the greatest Buddhist monuments in the world, and was built in the 8th and 9th centuries AD. The monument was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1991.
Thank you Rinpoche , interesting sharing. Hopefully I could visit this great monument in future

The Lizard Man is a legendary, seven-foot-tall, red-eyed, scaly-skinned reptile that is said to live in the swamps of South Carolina. The legend of the Lizard Man has been around since 1988. The Lizard Man of Scape Ore Swamp ,also known as the Lizard Man of Lee County is an entity said to inhabit the swampland of the region. A large, green, lizard-like creature emerged from the shadows. Many others have claimed encounters with the legendary Lizard Man. The Lizard Man has been the subject of much publicity in the press, on the radio, television and even in movies. The lizard man myth brings curious travellers from across the globe into town, searching for the prehistoric beast lurking beneath the swamp. Ancient Historical Accounts of Lizard man sound interesting after reading it. I do believe in legends as there’s many unseen beings whereby is not seen by our naked eyes. Many others have claimed encounters with the legendary Lizard Man, leaving a mark on the small, agricultural town.

Langmu Monastery is one of the most popular wild destinations in Sichuan as it provides excellent travel experience in nomads Tibet. It is a group of monasteries built at the border of Sichuan and Gansu Province. Founded in 1748 AD Constructed in 1748, belongs to Tibetan Buddhism. After years of extension and development, the temple today is composed of ten affiliated temples . It is a destination for strenuous pilgrimages and fascinating . A river, Bailong River, separates the township into two parts, one part in Gansu and another one in Sichuan. Wow Langmu monastery is a place where one can experience both Tibetan Buddhism and Islamic culture. Langmu Monastery is one of the largest to practise Dorje Shugden. That’s wonderful Kechara did sent to Langmu Monastery 600 sets of Dorje Shugden collateral in the Tibetan language. The monastery also ordered from Kechara an entire set of statues of Dorje Shugden.

Arjia Rinpoche is one of the most prominent Buddhist teachers and lamas to have left Tibet. He was recognized by 10th Panchen Lama as the 20th Arjia Danpei Gyaltsen, the reincarnation of Je Tsongkhapa’s father. He has trained with lineage teachers, such as the 14th Dalai Lama, the 10th Panchen Lama, and Gyayak Rinpoche. He had received many sacred teachings and ritual instructions from these great lamas. He was forced to leave his monastery and attend a Chinese school, yet secretly continued to practice and study with his tutors during the Cultural Revolution . Arjia Rinpoche went into exile and escaped to the United established a Buddhist Center for Compassion and Wisdom. Throughout his life, Arjia Rinpoche was tutored by specialized teachers in the area of Buddhist philosophy, sutra and tantra teachings, as well as in Buddhist art and architectural design.Since then Rinpoche has been giving teachings throughout the United States, Canada, Taiwan, India and Guatemala.
For the sake of harmony and unity of the Tibetans , Rinpoche has advised the Tibetans to stop discriminating against Dorje Shugden practitioners. Arjia Rinpoche’s message of peaceful is consistent with the spirit of Buddhism and even spirituality in general. The ban against Dorje Shugden was imposed in 1996 and since that time, the has cause sufferings among the Tibetans in exile. No one should be discriminated against due to their religion or spiritual path. Dorje Shugden people, should be allowed choice of religion and be involved in the preservation of the Tibetan culture. It was during the 10th Panchen Lama’s Maha-Parinirvana 30th Anniversary, Arjia Rinpoche spoke bravely on fulfilling the Panchen Lama’s wishes.

Buddhism is a religion and philosophy that developed from the doctrines of the Buddha. Is a major religion in the world, originated in India in the 5th century BCE and is based on the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama, also known as the Buddha. Buddhists believe that life is a cycle of suffering and rebirth. Having priests and pastors in each centers or place of worships or retreat centers around the world serving and spreading Buddha teachings with more and more people get to know more knowledge of Buddhism. Reading this blog , given me a more understanding of the role of Pastors or known as Priest in some parts of the world. There’s many Buddhist Priest around the world serving others leading services , performing ceremonies and rituals. Many people have benefited, having Pastors or Priests around helping them out with their teaching, and providing spiritual support. That’s awesome. Here at Kechara we too having Pastors making Buddha’s wisdom accessible to more people by giving spiritual guidance and sharing knowledge. In this way, the Dharma is preserved and made available to busy spiritual seekers. Interesting blog knowing some of those wonderful Buddhist priests around the world and many more to come spreading Dharma teachings..
    Thank you Rinpoche .

Compassion is always in season. Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet. Until he extends the circle of compassion to all living things. Animals have moral status, and animal suffering matters. No need to explain more as different people have different view. Let them be and say what they want.

Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing. Living a quiet life, often characterized by simplicity and a deliberate choice. A far away quiet environment can offer numerous benefits for one’s well-being and overall quality of life. Living a calm and simple life yet rich with inner meaning, personal growth, and a deep connection to oneself, one’s values . Those moment of quietness, free from the rush and noise of daily life, allows for self-reflection and a deeper understanding of our actions and their impacts. By taking a softer approach to living, we can focus more on our internal happiness, building our emotional health.
Since learning Dharma and putting into practice have taught me to live simplicity free from the rush and noise of daily life.

The act of liberating animals helps us to develop the nature of not harming others, creating the awareness of not eating animals for the sake of attachment to meat and thus promoting a vegetarian lifestyle. When one releasing lives brings blessings to the whole family, a multitude releasing lives brings divine protection. Among all merits, releasing lives is indeed supreme. Beyond financial generosity , we also practice the generosity of Dharma and the generosity of fearlessness. Releasing lives embodies all three types of giving in one noble act which we should make use of the opportunity to do more. The merits of animals liberation are truly unparalleled.
Reading this article by Daily Mail Reporter where a group of Tibetan Buddhists released 534 live lobsters into the Atlantic Sea. Rejoice Geshe Tenley and a group of Tibetan Buddhists releasing them one by one to freedom into the deep water.
    Thank you Rinpoche .

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
