KECHARA WINS EUROPA AWARD!
Dear friends,
Great news! Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK) has won another award! I’m happy to see KSK consistently being recognized for their efforts towards improving the welfare of Malaysia’s homeless and urban poor.
About a month ago, KSK received an email notifying them that they had been nominated for the EUROPA Sustainability Award 2012. This accolade is awarded by the European Union-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce & Industry (EUMCCI).
EUMCCI is a public non-profit organisation. It is an umbrella organisation of all EU chambers of commerce and business councils. Altogether there are approximately 1200 corporations under their umbrella.
On 26 September 2012, the KSK committee were invited to the award ceremony at Berjaya Times Square. Five awards were given under the 5 following category: Welfare, Culture, Environment, Women Empowerment and Education. KSK won under the Welfare category. They received a package of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) training courses to be conducted by Malaysia Institute of Management.
Below are a few photos of the ceremony. Congratulations KSK, for all your hard work!! Keep it up!

It is just great that KSK is getting so much recognition, through this we can tell the world that KSK is indeed doing good. And from there we would be able to have more people coming in to help all the homeless. I am just so happy for Dato Ruby’s team.
Thank you Rinpoche for conceptualising KSK to benefit more people.
Congratulation to Datuk Ruby and KSK team , You all did it another record for Kechara which
Recognise by EUMCCI , it really inspired us and proud all of you .
Kechara Soup Kitchen under the leadership of Ruby has done it again!! Congratulations! I have the fortunate chance to work with KSK and I must say many of the volunteers enjoy working in this organisation, because the number of volunteers are increasing every week.
I sincerely wish Kechara Soup Kitchen will become even more famous so that more people will benefit from this. One of the goals of KSK is not achieved yet, which is to have a training center for the homeless to have even more homeless off the streets.

KSK wins so much recognition for Kechara! It is the due to the work of Dato Ruby and her wonderful team!
After many years of dedication, Kechara Soup Kitchen is receiving more and more recognition. This time it is a recognition from an association of European Union.
These public recognition are clear rewards for Dato Ruby and her KSK team for their hard works.
With these recognition, I hope that KSK will have lesser obstacles in their work and that the name of Kechara can be made known to more people near and far.
Congratulations to Dato’ Ruby Khong and the KSK team for winning the EUROPA Sustainability Award 2012. Your team truly deserved this award as they have worked tirelessly to feed the hungry and the recent set up of the Kechara Food Bank which is just incredible.
Congratulations and thank you for your incredible work to benefit others. Even with more accolades and recognition, you always use it to make Kechara name to be out there. That would be essential for more people to know more about us. It is always a pleasure to hear news that Dato Ruby is promoting Kechara Soup Kitchen on this international and domestic stage.
Rejoice and congratulations to Kechara Soup Kitchen! This award received from EUMCCI will be our inspiration and motivation to do more Dharma works and serve for those who are less fortunate. Let our Dharma works unite us as one team to provide more Dharma knowledge and practice to our local folks. Thank you Rinpoche for your endless spiritual guidance.
Congragulations to the KSK team for winning this award! Definitely a good lesson in how to successfully benefit those in need whilst gaining merits for participants, sponsors and organizers and spreading Rinpoche’s vision.
