Improving Your Air the Natural Way
Dear friends,
This is such an interesting short video on how to improve the oxygen in your room. It’s natural, easy and also not high maintenance. Please watch the video and it’s very informative. I really like it and will do this for my room. More oxygen, clean and fresh will reduce headaches, some breathing difficulties, eye irritation, and other problems. Mother-in-law’s Tongue creates oxygen from CO2 at night which is the opposite of most plants that create it during the day… that is great… fresh oxygen all night in your room… while your sleeping… healthy.
Please take a look and I hope it helps you very much.

Areca plant
Purchase Areca Palm plants (Chrysalidocarpus lutescens (Areca lutescens)) and place in living room. You need four (4) shoulder height plants per person. These plants are some of the best and most common which remove CO2 from the air and convert it to oxygen.
Clean the leaves daily, water often, keep in sunlight, but too much may burn the leaves. Bring outside every couple of months.
The Areca Palm requires frequent watering. This plant loves water and should be watered regularly, but not be allowed to sit with too wet soil for too long as this might lead to rotten roots.
The palm requires good to moderate lighting and can be placed in direct sunlight. This might cause the tips of the plant to turn brown but this is not a problem. Areca Palms regularly turn brown at the tips. The tips should not be clipped as this will stunt the growth of the palm. If an entire frond becomes dry to the root, only then can the plant be pruned.
The Areca Palm should never be dusted or wiped down as it distracts from the natural beauty of the plant and has no effect on the way the palm purifies the air. If taken care of properly, Areca Palms can grow quite large and are known to bear flowers.
Mother-in-law’s tongue plant
Buy Mother-in-laws tongue or Snake plant (Sansevieria trifasciata) and place in your bedroom. You will need six(6) to eight (8) waist height plants per person. These plants remove CO2 and convert it into oxygen at night. This is essential for overall air quality. Along with Areca Palm, you will be converting CO2 into oxygen 24 hours a day.
Clean leaves once a week, keep in low light or bright shade, water every few days. Watch pets and children. The sap can be toxic if chewed and ingested.
It is very very easy to take of Mother in Law’s Tongue. It requires very little watering, as it is drought resistant. Watering once a week is too much and could cause the plant to rot. It can grow in light or light shade, just remember that the more light; the more water, the less light; the less water.
Mother in Law’s Tongue does not require compost and nitrogen composts can cause it damage. The most difficult thing about keeping a Mother in Law’s Tongue, is wiping down the leaves every two weeks.
NOTE: Mother in Laws Tongue is used during the night. Unlike most plants, during its night phase, Mother in Laws Tongue converts carbon dioxide into oxygen. This is the ideal bedroom plants.
Money plant
Buy Money Plants, also known as Pothos or Silver Vine (Epipremnum aureum) and place randomly. There is no recommended amount of these plants, but they are used to remove Formaldehyde, Xylene, and Benzene. Place one or two in every room for maximum effect.
Keep in low light as direct sunlight can burn leaves, water often and wipe leaves when visibly dirty.
It is fairly simple to take care of the Money Plant but if it is not done correctly, it can lead to the deterioration of the plants. If the leaves begin to crinkle, the plant is receiving too much water, however, if the leaves start to turn a yellowy colour and begin to drop then the plant is receiving too much water.
So then how much water does it need? There is no exact amount, but you should wait for the soil to dry before adding any more water. These plants should not be misted but a wipe down with a water and soap solution is recommended. Money plants do not like direct sunlight, but they should not be in complete shade. When they are young, the money plant cannot tolerate direct sunlight and might wilt if it experiences too much of it. As it ages it becomes more tolerant of the sunlight and be placed in direct sunlight but this is not recommended.
If taken care of properly, this plant is known to flower.
