Why don’t you love me anymore?

Dear friends around the world,

I have come across so many stories of suffering, pain and abandonment but sometimes one stands out stronger than the rest. What happened to this little boy doggie is heartbreaking. I am re-posting here to create awareness and to bring attention to the heroes that help animals and create awareness to their suffering. The purpose of creating awareness is to let people know how much suffering animals go through and to not contribute towards this. To help lessen the suffering. Giving pain to any animal never brings good luck or happiness to anyone.

Never harm animals and never eat them.

Tsem Rinpoche

Dear mom and dad.

They found me inside the dumpster you toss me in around 8 in the night. I was crying for u begging for u to come take me back. What have I done wrong. I feel pain all over my body. My joints ached, the hole in my buttocks hurt, I cannot see my behind. I try to get up but I can’t. I cry and cry until a man who was dumping his garbage heard me. He got the shock of his life finding me in the pile of rubbish. It was wet and smelly here. The worms are eating me inside out. Again I keep thinking, what have I done wrong.

The vet said my condition is pretty bad. My old body won’t be able to handle it for long. I was full of lice, fleas and ticks. I had blood parasite too. My white blood count is too high. I am an old boy, in pain and suffering. After lengthy tests, they finally decide to let me go. I understand. I am not angry. I am just sad you are not with me. They gave me a nice meal, my last supper. It reminds me of you when I was young. You used to love me and handfed me when I was a baby. People cry around me. They held my hand as I closed my eyes. And then I finally let go and my heart beat the last.

Dear mom and dad. I am now in heaven. For whatever I did wrong to you, I hope you won’t do to another dog what you did to me. I will always love you. Until we meet again.

Remarks: Many thanks to Century Animal Medical Centre (Putatan) Dr Adit and Frankie for your help, for the love to animals you waited for us to help him even you were was closing. Thank you again for your compassion towards the less fortunate animals and rest in peace doggy.

The narrative, is particularly moving it will be very hard to forget a case like this, and may I never forget cases like this and encourage myself and others not to abandon our animals and pets.

Animals are like our children they have no one else to turn to, we need to take care of them well.

Thank you Rinpoche for this article. It is sad to see people who don’t want their cats or dogs anymore can just dump them into the garbage bin. There is a better way to get rid of the pet rather than throwing it into the garbage bin. They can find the pet a new family for adoption or send it to the RSPCA.

    With folded palms,
    Vivian

I am really saddened to hear that people can do such cruel things to a helpless dog.
The owner could have done a better job by sending the Dog to somebody willing to take care of him rather than just throwing him in the Dumpster where he would be stuck for hours before someone rescued him.

I really hope that such cases will not occur again and may the dog have a smooth rebirth and always be near Dharma.

This is a very sad story.

*We must love our pet, treat them well and take good care of them.
*We must not abandon our pet and we must give to friends who are reliable and try to find a new owner through social media if we really can’t take care of it any longer.
*We should adopt the pet instead of buying pet from pet shop, because the abandoned pet would be able to find a second home.

    Thank you Rinpoche for sharing.

I don’t know if I should be furious at whoever dumped that poor dog in the dumpster…or feel sorry for the dog to have been mistreated by its owners.

Luckily the government put into force the Animal Welfare Enactment..otherwise, more pets will be abandoned or dumped.

I cannot believe owners who had spent so much time with their pets can actually bear to throw them out the minute they are old.. is that how they would treat their parents or children? It is really heart breaking…

If they couldn’t care for it.. they shouldn’t have bought it, the poor animal.. I cannot imagine the pain and suffering during its last moments..

I really hate people that bought pets because they were “cute” and when they got older.. they became a “nuisance”… inhumane beings.

  6. Anne Ong on Sep 9, 2016 at 9:56 pm

Well, i really cant bear to see this kinda torturous thing in the first place. This is also part of the reason i dare not look and read into this article and have been putting off commenting it. I used to have intelligent cats and dogs in my house, but unfortunately they are all gone now. So, we wont have them anymore because it’s too painful to see them go in a painful way. Anyway, this is a very good article to bring awareness to animal cruelty. Thank you very much Rinpoche.

  7. Su Ming on Sep 5, 2016 at 2:37 pm

When I read the article above, it really made me vey furious. Is really sad to read and also from my very own experience on how masters/mistress dumped their pets for whatever reasons which is not valid at all as you are dealing with a live being here. The most common reason which I have heard why some of my “friends’ gave up on their pets are really ridiculous is that they are not trained and their pet inconvenient them. Will they treat their kids/baby the same? Pets are meant to be trained, just like kids. So if the master/mistress does not train them, how do you expect them to behave?

When I first started to work for Ladrang, we had 2 new schnauzer who joined the family, we had to read and trained them according to the books which can be easily found on the internet. They are now grown up and oh boy, they are definitely more well behave then some kids I know. It was hard at the beginning but the training did a lot of good not only for them but for the humans too.

This story, though it may be short but it was definitely a sad and touching one.

It is really saddening to know that there are people out there who have no compassion, thought or care for the actions they do and for the suffering they put their pet through by abandoning them in such a way. What did their pets. It is really painful to see animals having to go through such suffering because of ignorant owners.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this post.

Even we are not able to help, at least we do not do harm or be one of them causing the sufferings of animals or another being. Especially dogs are loyal animal, they take their owner as their family, love them and rely on them. We are our pet’s whole world, even they might be only part of our world…Treat them well as much as we could as how they love us.

  10. Samfoonheei on Sep 1, 2016 at 8:48 pm

Sad and touching story……a good read and it had melted my heart and i have shared it with friends to bring awareness not to abandon our pets when we have decided to keep them as if they are one of us. Love, respect and be kind to them till the very end.Be responsible once you decided to own a pet.
Thanks Rinpoche for sharing this sad,and touching article.

It pains my heart to see this video; I cannot help but think why these people have become devoid of compassion, why have they lost this caring attitude and where have they left this compassion and how did they end up like that? There no immediate answers however deeply I searched.
It is indeed sad that many have become victims of blasphemous teachings by the less holy people who had been indoctrinating them with teachings that are deemed to be associated with the negatives.
Hard as it may seems to appear but I believe hope is not lost to reconnect these people again with the right teachers who can instill in them compassion and help them beginning with more tolerance, patience and understanding.

  12. Ron Wong on Aug 31, 2016 at 5:58 pm

When we value the life of others we will take responsibility to take care of them, feed them, clean them, nurse them when they are sick & treat them as part of the family. Animals too are living being, not some mere product for our conveniences & abandon them when they are not longer useful. Even though they cannot talk to us but they have feeling too, can feel pain & happiness just like we do. The howling of the dog in the video has a deep sense of sadness & it is still constantly crying in my mind.. It is just unbelievable how the owner can abandon him who were once a loyal companion. I truly hope that this video & story serve as a reminder to everyone not to abuse their pet & give them love care until their very last moment because their love to us are unconditional.

  13. Pastor KH Ng on Aug 31, 2016 at 4:45 pm

Cruel cruel act of disregard of lives!!!

Where does this kind of act ends? When we can be so disconnected to precious lives to others; even animals; we can also similarly not value our life and that of our love ones.

This is one of the more heart rendering scenes I have ever seen. To pet owners and people related in the pet industry; please do the right thing; have compassion as the main motivation and some common sense. Pets are not products but are lives!

  14. CindyH on Aug 30, 2016 at 9:58 pm

Such irresponsible conduct basically reflects the nature of selfishness. I dare say that it stems from the one’s inability or even unwillingness to think beyond one’s own self-interest and feelings. When it no longer suits one’s purpose or becomes inconvenient, the owner selfishly only thinks about the owner’s own interest and disregard the feelings and welfare of the poor dog. Surely if the owner truly cares for other than himself/herself, the owner would have not abandoned the poor dog in such horrifyingly cruel and inhumane manner. In fact, if the owner truly cares (beyond his/her own interest), the dog would not be abandoned in the first place. If the focus is not self-serving but rather for others, one would not, in the first place be able to stomach subjecting the poor dog to such reckless and torturous treatment.

In addition, people need to understand that having a pet is a huge responsibility and it actually is about adding a member to your family. That means additional mouth to feed and costs, as such addition to the family require food, water, shelter, and medical care just like us. It also means having to care and spend time with them. All these should be thoroughly thought about before deciding to take on additional member(s) to your family.

More importantly, an animal companion which you bring into your home is not a toy to be played with for as long you feel like it and then tossed when it’s not fresh and new anymore. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out (from his/her actions) that from the minute you invite him/her to be part of your life, your animal companion will love you with every ounce of his/her being. How can it ever be right that you abandon them when it gets too inconvenient? Or for you to give them up because they got too old? More so when the abandonment is carried out in such cruel and inhumane manner.

Thank You Rinpoche for sharing with us about this article, is very heartbreaking to read and watch the video how can a we human can be so cruel to our pet, in the first place what can a dog do to you that we have to dump them when this is the time that they need us the most because if the dog is sick, this person who commit this act is really heartless . I hope the authority can do something to prevent this kind of cases ever happen again.

  16. Jason on Aug 30, 2016 at 2:40 am

People always said dog is the best friend of human beings. It was a heartbreaking story. My eyes getting red after read the letter. How can a person who did hand fed to raised up the doggie but finally become a person who throws doggie intothe dumpster.

Suffering of animals can’t be voice out by them. Why people keep causing animals in suffering?Social media jobs must be done to create public awareness regarding animal abandon.

We must respect all sentient beings and create a harmony and peaceful living environment.

Thanks My Guru Tsem Tulku Rinpoche for sharing. I will keep sharing on compassion to animals.

It is scary of how as men and the ones deemed to be more intelligent ones yet we do things like that which destroys another living being. It is sad to watch this video reason being that the old dog is in pain. How can you abandon something that you have been taking care of for a few years. You should have feelings to him and not be abandoning him in a dumpster.

A dog’s sense of scent is very strong, and to be placing him in the dumpster where ever we as human beings cannot take it yet they expect the dog to be able to tolerate that. It is just pure abuse for the dog.

This is really a wake up call to all dog owners or future dog owners that we cannot abandon our pets no matter what happens to them. We should always love and care for them as they are our child that we have promised to give a good life to. We should never break that promise to them as we are everything that they have.

  18. Fong on Aug 30, 2016 at 12:44 am

it is sad that we, humans can be heartless. Due to the internet nowadays, we are more aware of news and we can see a lot of animals suffering, be it farmed animals for their meat or animals that started out as pet but are abandoned when they are not longer cute.

As kids learn from adults, we must help the children grow up with empathy for animals. We have to educate them and expose them to both the cruelty that humans can inflict and also, the love that humans can give too. Then, we can slowly teach them to care and love all animals.

  19. Cynthia Lee on Aug 29, 2016 at 5:11 am

Humans are capable of so many things in desperate situations. There are cases where they throw their own babies in the dumpster. However, most people love babies and they resonate them as people.

Animals? Not quite so … maybe because they can’t communicate with animals. So animals can’t tell us exactly how they feel. The heartbreaking cries from this doggie in the video clearly show that animals can feel pain, sadness, abandonment, fear, etc. It is really so painful to watch.

I really hope this video act as a wake-up call to those who do not resonate animals as a living being who can feel just like the rest of us.

  20. Sofi on Aug 29, 2016 at 12:51 am

This is such a heart wrenching case of how humanity failed yet again. That poor dog had so much pain and confusion in his eyes, pleading for help from the people who found him. There are just too many acts of selfishness which totally disregard the pain cause to another living being. In this terrible suffering, we also learnt of humanity at its best, those that took the trouble to bring the dog to the Vet, the Vet who helped the dog although he was closing for the day and those who compassionately created awareness through the letter published on the social media. Thank you Rinpoche for always sharing articles on the sufferings of others. It helps us to relate to another sentient being who suffers pain and to bring out the potential Bodhicitta nature in us.

  21. Alice Tay on Aug 29, 2016 at 12:27 am

Animals have feelings just like us. We should respect the animals just as much as everything else because they might be once be our mother in many lifetime ago. If we abuse animal, who knows , maybe we abuse our mother too. Always remind ourselves that nothing deserves to be abused or suffer. We hope others will treat us good and therefore we should treat others how we would like to be treated.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this post. Hope this post can create more awareness to the people in order to stop hurting the animals but to protect and treat them as human beings.

  22. Stella Cheang on Aug 28, 2016 at 10:25 pm

The history of mankind is forever tainted because of the cruelty mankind did (and still doing) on those who are harmless and unable to fend for themselves. While the larger population of this planet prefer to remain as silent endorsers of the many tragedies that happened because some humans took advantage of their physically able human form or advantagous position to abuse others. Just try to google, and we will see sexual child abuse, animal abuse, forced extinction of species, crimes against aborigines, “witch hunt” and a list of never-ending list of abuse that we should be very ashamed of. What does this make us? Bullies! Big bullies with no conscious. It is really sad. Please spread love and kindness, and stop any form of abuse, mental or physical.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this post.

  23. HelenaC on Aug 28, 2016 at 5:58 pm

Watching this video, its really break my heart into pieces. How can a person be so cruel and heartless?? The voice of him is so helpless and the suffering that his is going through is no way any of us can imagine. Very sad seeing this and Very sad when i read the letter. If we are not an animal lover at lease we don’t harm them. The minimal respect for them at lease.
In their heart we are everything to them, what they need is just a little of our time to love and care for them.
I hope the new generations will have more awareness on respecting all animals and be more humanity.

  24. Martin on Aug 28, 2016 at 3:47 am

The physical suffering is plain enough to see but it is difficult to imagine what mental and emotional anguish the poor dog suffered. You don’t need to be an animal lover to know that this act is simply wicked and yet such atrocities occur daily to poor and defenceless animals everywhere.

The person(s) who did this to the dog must see everything as objects to be used and not as sentient beings. Alternatively this person is just heartless and with total disregard for the wellbeing of other lives. While this case may be extreme, daily and in different doses of abuse, this is what we as a society do to animals by rearing them for one purpose only which is to be slaughtered for our use, amusement or pleasure.

It is unfortunate that as a race and society, we need laws to prevent us from being cruel and that kindness is not an instinct.

  25. KarenC on Aug 28, 2016 at 1:00 am

How could someone do that to a living being? This video is so heart-wrenching to watch…it’s really sad people can be so cold, cruel and mean to dump a dog to the trash bin and let it die slowly? how would you feel if someone dump your child into that trash pile? The amount of suffering, fear and pain animals have to go through, especially the stray animals, is beyond imagination. They are shelterless, hungry and no love, we human being should not add on anymore sufferings onto them already. On the other hand, I truly respect those animal activists who stand up for anti-animal abuse and give them a warm and loving home, kudos to you guys. Never harm animals. Never eat them.

    Dear Rinpoche,

This letter describe the feelings of alone , disappointment and sad of an abandoned dog very lively and accurately. It perfectly gives us an insight of the feelings of an abandoned dog which we would never be able to describe it. The pain and suffering is very clear. People should think clearly and take in consideration of any circumstances before taking in a dog as pet. Simple abandoning the dog when things does not go right is cruel and inhumane. I hope this letter can raise awareness among pet owners.

    Humbly,
    Chris Chong

  27. Jacinta Goh on Aug 27, 2016 at 9:45 pm

The letter was most heart wrenching. For a child that is sick, parents will immediately send their beloved child to consult the best doctor. However, animals are not seen as such. It reminds me that we should show our love and care even to the elderly. In this case, the sickly and dying old dog.

Thank you Rinpoche for highlighting this and will social media this.

Just as His Holiness, The Dalai Lama’s golden words have described, “Life is as dear to a mute creature as it is to a man, Just as one wants happiness and fears pain, Just as one wants to live and not die, so do other creatures.” Such are the golden words and feelings so compassionately expressed by His Holiness, The Dalai Lama. The greatest of Lamas, so well loved by the millions the World over, both young and the old, for his profound insights into the humane conditions of all beings. To the Buddhists around the World, and even to many non-buddhists too, it is said and believed he embodies the epitome of their faith, the highest human aspiration. All living beings are said to be spiritual in essence, conscious with their feelings of empathy to animal beings, wither at work or play. Most are kind-hearted and self-dedicated animal lovers and care-takers too. All living beings irrespective of whether humans or animals are said to be spiritual in essence, and do naturally have a longing for happiness and be free from all varied experiences of sufferings like everybody else! When the law in Malaysia was passed, it was hoped that the law would definitely raise public awareness on the importance of taking care of animals’ welfare. As emphasied by Rinpoche, this posting is to help create awareness, i.e. never to harm animals and never to eat them too! Om Mani Padme Hung.

  29. Lew on Aug 27, 2016 at 7:07 pm

The video is so difficult to watch. There is so much suffering of the dog. It is really sad to see people dumping their dogs. We should always treat our dogs are our family, and not simply dump them when the situation does not permit. I have heard that quite a lot of people give away their dog (or just simply dump their dogs on the streets) when they move to smaller house or a condominium.

On the other hand, it is good to see there are laws to protect animals in Malaysia, but I am quite sure many are not aware of the law. It is our responsible to inform the public, in hope that it will have some effects in stopping people from dumping their dogs.

  30. Lucy Yap on Aug 27, 2016 at 5:41 pm

Thank You Rinpoche for sharing this touch story with me to open our wisdom eye. My eye was blurred by tears when I am writing this comment. I always think what if we switch role; we are animal and being dumped or tortured, what will we think? I am touched particularly the article “what did I do wrong”. The dog lying helpless for the last moment of its life. I was sent to theater for emergency for life and death situation. I was fear and lost lying but never give up fighting to live. Can a dog deserve to live and respect? Their lives are precious too.

Please always think you were the animal what do you feel about being tortured.

How could she understand why this is happening to her. Makes my heart cringe with sadness too.
I wish that no one would abandon their pet when there are old or sick. Animals do have feelings just like human. They don’t wish to suffer just like us too.
Let’s show love to all animals and especially don’t eat them too.

It’s very sad how some people have become so cruel to other living beings, making them go through so much suffering. All this is so unnecessary. This is the result of years of extreme selfishness that lead a person to being cold and cruel like this.

It’s true that more awareness for animals is necessary. It must be ingrained in our culture that hurting other living beings should never be in our mindstream. And I hope that whoever did this to the dog is reprimanded so that he knows what he did is wrong and it sets a precedence for others to think twice before hurting an animal.

  35. Pastor Han Nee on Aug 27, 2016 at 8:07 am

Thank you Rinpoche for this most moving letter.Whenever and wherever this happens, it is very sad. We take home a being and in the vigor of his youth , we love him and even dote on him. Then, we grow bored with him and neglect him. Not being cleaned,he gets disease and festering sores. He suffers from hunger and wastes away in pain and suffering. When it’s ‘too much’ for us, we abandon him. We dump him in a garbage bin and leave him to die in all the squalor and the filth. What has he done to deserve this?

How about, if there is a role reversal? We are the dog and the dog were us humans? We want to speak out but we can’t give voice to our fears, our pain and our suffering?

Fortunately for this dog, he was rescued at the 11th hour. He was put to as much ease as possible and felt the warmth of love and care once more in the last moments of his life. His last cries are heart-wrenching!

We must create awareness, develop empathy for suffering beings and not ever put anyone in suffering like this.

Wat Rong Khun better known as the White Temple, is a Buddhist temple in Chiang Rai province, Thailand. The gold symbolizes how people focus on worldly desires and money. The white building represents the idea to make merit and to focus on the mind. It is owned by a succesful Thai businessman who opened it to visitors in 1997. Awesome….This temple stands out through the white colour and use of pieces of glass that sparkle in the sun. The white colour signifies the purity of Buddha while the glass symbolizes Buddha’s wisdom. Located 3 hour drive from Chiang Mai built to honour and pay tribute to sacred Buddhist figures. Over time, temples grew in prominence and is one of the famous temples to visit in Thailand. I have visited years back its simple stunning temple which truly love the design and architecture .

Sak Yant, a traditional Thai tattooing practice, involves sacred geometrical and animal designs. Its often accompanied by Pali phrases, and is believed to offer power, protection, charisma, and other benefits to the wearer. Sak Yant tattoos are deeply rooted in Buddhist and spiritual beliefs, with each design and symbol carrying specific meanings and purported powers. Many designs are believed to provide protection against evil spirits, misfortune, and danger. Sak Yant tattoos are traditionally applied by monks or masters using a needle and ink, and the process is often accompanied by chants and blessings. I personally have not seen one yet . Sound interesting.

Jojo Struys is a travel and wellness personality, accredited yoga instructor, speaker and author. She visited Bangsar of Kechara outlet for a feature with Star Property. With her visit hopefully more people will get to know more of our Kechara . She had made a video with and Pastor David Lai all about Buddhist Arts. She openly admitted interested in Buddhist art . Buddhist art pieces have given her home a contemporary edge. Art was important to Buddhist religious life. It was not only part of ritual and worship but also served to transmit religious ideas, and artistic styles between cultures. Do agree with her statement ,…..if you want to change your life, change the way you think, because everything begins with you.”

n their theoretical model, rudeness has this impact on our ability to think because it engenders negative sadness, anger. Researchers have found that common negative behaviours can spread easily and have significant consequences. The best way to avoid rude people is to meet their acts of rudeness with kindness. Exposure to neurotoxins in society is not new. Children today are raised in an environment that is much different from those days. Nowadays they are exposed to behaviours, profane language, hostilities and stress from which we adults, raised a generation ago. Studies have shown that children exposed to serious psychological trauma during childhood are at risk of suffering increased psychiatric disorders. Interesting read.

Revisit this blog again . Reading comments in this blog Rich people have substantial assets and income, providing a sense of security and freedom from financial worries. Owning high-end cars, designer clothing and everything they want with their money. Rich people often have more time for leisure, hobbies, and travel, allowing them to pursue interests and experiences. They may live in large, luxurious homes and have or apartments, often in desirable locations and having personalized services. The fundamental difference in mindset between the rich and the poor is, the rich have understood a very simple principle money makes money. Rich people see money as an opportunity, while poor people see it as something to be earned. Poor people work hard for their money. It is the heart that makes a man rich. He is rich according to what he is, not according to what he has. Not he who has much is rich, but he who gives much. The primary difference between rich people and poor people is how they handle their wealth. My thought been rich in this world it is not what we take up, but what we give up, that makes us rich.

Found this old post …disturbing. Having a name especially a Bar linked to Buddha to be disrespectful towards Buddhism. After much controversy the owner had it removed. The Buddha Bar located in Sabah by a young owner which opened without much thought had many people complaining. Later was forced to have its controversial name changed to ‘Peacock Garden’ and had apologised for the controversial name. As a devout Buddhist, the name ‘Buddha Bar’ which serves alcohol, is disrespectful to the revered Buddha.

Siberia, considered the heartland of shamanism inhabited by many different ethnic groups, and many of its peoples observe shamanistic. Many of the indigenous communities reclaiming their traditional spiritual and healing practices . Interesting. Siberian shamanism is often called Tengerism, involves various rituals, including drumming, chanting, trance states, and offerings to nature spirits and ancestors. This religious practice has deep roots in Siberia and Central Asia in recent years with roots in the Turkic and Mongolic cultures. Many who have been live in a remote part of Russia, have preserved their shamanic traditions due to their isolation. Many customs of Tengrism are still been practiced where they emphasizes a deep respect for nature and its various spirits, including those of the earth, water, and mountains. They do believe in the continued existence of souls and the importance of honouring their ancestors.
Thank you Rinpoche sharing this ancient religion.

Everyone of us has an unforgettable different experience, a different destination and itineraries. The journey to Shar Gaden Monastery back in 2019, making offerings to the sangha , by the Kecharians hold special moments and memories. They were on behalf of His Eminence the 25th Tsem Rinpoche and Kechara in making an offering to all 650 monks of the monastery. On this fruitful trip the Kecharians had the honour to catch a glimpse of the normally-covered holy statue of Dorje Shugden . Awesome this holy statue of Dorje Shugden was handmade by HH Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche and HH Kyabje Zong Rinpoche. The team was also granted an audience with H E Domo Geshe Chocktrul Rinpoche. Having the opportunity to make offerings to the monks was indeed meritorious. Rejoice to them. Looking at those beautiful pictures paints a thousands words. Thank you Rinpoche and team for this sharing. Merely looking at it is a blessing especially the Holy Statue of Dorje Shugden.

Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly. We can’t let our failures define us. Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure. Success is never permanent, and failure is never final. Failure is another stepping stone to greatness .Sometimes just reminding ourselves of the temporality of failure enables us to forge ahead and stay focus looking forward . Failure isn’t something many of us can handle gracefully. And even though we know it’s a common human condition, figuring out how to stay motivated in the face of failure .
Thank you Rinpoche for this profound teachings.

Finally HH Dalai Lama said we can practice Dorje Shugden. After all these years of deep frustration felt by the Tibetan people. They who lack religious freedom been denied and been exploited in all sectors of society. More than 60 years the Tibetan leadership has cause the sufferings of those in exile who had propitiate Dorje Shugden. Dalai Lama did reiterated although he recommended not worshipping Dorje Shugden as it is a personal choice and freedom. Interesting read.

Working in a private hospital before ,having witnessed many personal tragedies faced by the living and dying patients. Many of these poor people faced their death with fear, with misery and pain before departing this world. With the images of all these in my mind, on occasion feeling sad and grieve at times when those we have cared .But nonetheless we should recognise certain truths. All of us are going to leave this world at one time and leaving those we love. In the teaching of the Buddha, all of us will pass away eventually as a part in the natural process of birth, old-age and death and that we should always keep in mind the impermanence of life. Along the journey of life, we are reminded of our own inevitable ends in waiting and everything is a blip of transience and impermanent. Be responsible, good and positive for ourselves and towards others. This leads to calmness, happiness and an outlook which contributes to a calm and controlled mind at the time of death. We have to remind ourselves the importance of rebirth and taking time to prepare for their own demise before its too late.To cultivate the good karma, our good actions are an excellent way prepare for our death. Having lead a responsible and compassionate life and have no regrets when death approaches enables us to surrender without a struggle. The life that we all cherish and wish to hold on. We are doomed to the endless cycles of life and death, we should learn and practices Dharma teachings .We are given a chance in life and choice to determine our future, to determine where we will go for rebirth. Spend our time on earth wisely before its too late.
Thank you Rinpoche for this great sharing.

The Eerie Enigma of the Mothman are refer to the legendary, humanoid, winged creature as said by the locals as where is was been sighted. Since then it had sparking a blend of fear and fascination among the locals in the Point Pleasant, West Virginia area. This creature became an eerie symbol of fear, tragedy, and fascination for decades to come since the stories are so enduring and pervasive . The first reported encounter in 1966 in West Virginia and to the most recent one in 2024 in Kane, Illinois. In the quiet town of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, the mysterious creature had igniting one of the most puzzling legends in American folklore. Witnesses described this creature standing over seven feet tall, with a wingspan that could rival a small aircraft, glowing red eyes, and a human-like figure. This interesting, could it be real no one knows, there’s something out there for sure.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama is considered the incarnation of the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara and therefore he is an enlightened being. H H Dalai Lama has strongly discouraged the practice of Dorje Shugden worship within Tibetan Buddhism. Dorje Shugden is a prominent deity in the Gelugpa school of Tibetan Buddhism. Many highly attained Lamas have been relying on this Powerful Protector for centuries and even Dalai lama previously do propitiate Dorje Shugden . It cannot be wrong and its wrong to view it as a form of “spirit worship”. All his previous 9 reincarnations practiced with devotion, all of the Dalai Lamas teachers practiced Dorje Shugdan as well . The Tibetan community is torn over this issue and this has been the cause of much suffering and unnecessary prejudice. Dalai Lama is without doubt an enlightened being that surely cannot be tricked by a spirit. Dalai Lama did composed a praise to Dorje Shugden while at Dungkar Monastery . Interesting article , may more people read this and to understand better regarding this controversy. In 2020, the Dalai Lama made a Uturn by saying we can practice Dorje Shugden . Thats’ wonderful and relief for many practitioners.
Thank you Rinpoche for this great sharing.

Butön Rinchen Drup, 11th Abbot of Shalu Monastery, was a 14th-century Sakya master and Tibetan Buddhist leader. Butön Rinchen Drup a Tibetan great scholar and translator, known for systematizing the Tibetan Buddhist canon containing the Indian scriptures based on the spoken words of the Buddha. He also compiled the Tangyur collection that contains the Indian and Tibetan commentaries of these teachings. He wrote a famous text, the History of Buddhism in India and Tibet, which many Tibetan scholars utilize in their study till today. He remains to this day as one of the most important Tibetan historians and Buddhist writers in the history of Buddhism and Tibet. He was not merely a capable administrator but he is remembered to this very day as a prodigious scholar and writer and is Tibet’s most celebrated historian. After his death he strongly influenced the development of esoteric studies and psychic training in Tibet for centuries. Interesting biography of a great scholar.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

Find one of the most beautiful temples in the world in Nara, Japan. It is the 1,267 year old Todai-ji temple that houses a 15 meter Buddha Vairocana statue who is a cosmic and timeless Buddha. Emperor Shomu who sponsored this beautiful temple eventually abdicated and ordained as a Buddhist monk. Very interesting history and story. One of the places everyone should visit- https://bit.ly/2VgsHhK

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
