1st Chat Quiz ever
I was observing everyone on my blog chat space and I thought why don’t I make it a learning experience. So I decided to ask questions then and there with whoever was on chat which was quite many and have some fun. It was fun. I thought I asked 7 questions but it turned out to be six… and people really had to scour the blog to find information. Some were nervous and tense… hehehe… They were fast too. You must really know my blog to find the answers, so you got to get familiar.
I want to do this again. For now it will be random… which is whenever I am free day and night… but maybe we do more on regular basis or set time… let’s see how it goes… If you enjoyed it, leave a comment below and let me know… I can do for Chinese speaking team and English team maybe. Let’s see how it goes.
I like to give people knowledge and I like to find fun, out of the ordinary ways to do it. So I have a blog feature at the bottom of my blog. You just write your name, type and it works instantly.
Phil did a wonderful summary below easy for all of you to read and see what we did… thanks!
Let’s have fun and learn the Dharma.
Tsem Rinpoche
Dear Rinpoche,
In addition to the RULES BK sent, I have recorded all those who participated tonight’s HISTORICAL QUIZ (February 26, 2012) in the Chat Box as requested. They are Lew, Vincent Cheng, CK Liew, Jutika, Jeffrey Gan, Erick Siow, Cynthia Lee, Jace Chong, Serena, Grace Leong, Nicholas Yu, Joey Wong, Jean Ai, MB, Sharon, Susan, Philip.
The very first winner of this historical quiz is VINCENT CHENG. He answered 2 out of 6 questions correctly. He walked home very happily with a Yoda soft toy and a Silver Tsongkhapa Pendant! How cool we can to learn the Dharma in such an unconventional way. Thank you Rinpoche for coming out with this idea!
The questions Rinpoche asked tonight are:
1. Contest on the Chat: Who can find the correct and exact blog post that I described the benefits of Vy’s tantra first??? Look now and post here. (WINNER: LEW).
Click here to see the answer.

3. Go to www.vajrasecrets.com ok? Where do you find this statement? “Rinpoche shares largely progressive teaching methods, which use elements as diverse as Madonna’s music, sacred sutras, feeding the homeless and caring for animals to convey authentic Buddhist teachings.” Which item is this description written in? last night was super exciting… like a big kid again hahaha : ) congrats to vincent.
Thank you, I’m so happy, hehe, that’s my 1st soft toy I got, hahaha.
OMG I logged on last night and the chat was SO HAPPENING. Couldn’t keep up with all the “blub blub” sounds! Am very proud of you Vincent – you’re one of the newest people in Kechara and you kicked everybody’s ass to win the first ever competition hehehe So you’re going on as the defending champion tonight… let’s see if anyone can beat you today!
Damm Paris, I missed it last night as Ms Piggy crashed. I heard from the POs that Rinpoche might do the quiz again tonight. Hehehehe.
Vincent,
Rinpoche had that Yoda soft toy for 2 years now. Rinpoche has kept it in his room for the longest time so it is also highly blessed. Lucky you.
This was so much fun last night. If you were there, you would have really enjoyed it and had a good laugh. If you weren’t there, you missed out on the historical first chat quiz! No matter, do logon every day from evening onwards. You never know when Rinpoche will come on for more surprise questions and great prizes.
Thank you Rinpoche for such a fun and interesting way for people to learn dharma!
The quiz was held at approximmately 1:40AM local time. Many people joined when Rinpoche announced on chat to have a quiz..it was really really fun and intense at the same time!!
Some people like Vincent was very quick to find the answer hence being the first winner of the very first quiz! The quiz is to help all of us to gain knowledge and at the same time have fun..I can’t wait for the next quiz! Will be stalking the chat box all the time to wait for Rinpoche to come on! Hehe
Dear Rinpoche, simply love your unconventional ideas! The winner must be really happy with yoda n tsong khapa pendant and most of all dharma learnings in a most stimulating way:) Just one small feedback – can the questions be content related on some occasions and finding link to the exact blog post on others? Reason being for those of us who uses smart phone to read your blog daily, it’s hard to find n attach the link as on a pc or laptop. However if we read the contents of your post we might be able to answer those questions relating to it.
wow, what a fantastic way to learn Dharma and increasing our knowledge and wisdom through the quiz. It is really wonderful way to enjoy Dharma through the creative way and allowing one’s senses to be on full alert.
It will be beneficial to the Chinese speaking group too, as they can indirectly learn and increase they command of english, and also knowing about Rinpoche chinese blog too.
Thank You Rinpoche 🙂
Hello dear Tsem Rinpoche…
it´s me again. i see more and more on your weside.it´s like heaven! vajrayogini informationen, pictures and i have often to laugh. belive me: there is no guru in world like you. ok…perhaps there is , but i don´t know him.you are so clear fresh and funny.i give my best to understand everthing on webside. the problem ist not understanding.it´s my english. the good thing: i understand more english than i can speak and write.
your first guru… i can imagine what it will mean to you when he said: you are right. i can feel it. belive me.
there is one question. often my energy is high intensive. so i thought that yamantaka is more right for me.but vajrayogini flashed me more. and i am a friend of essential practise. only vajrayogini you know? only one question. in my room there is a picture from ds. a great picture.i see the ds “problem” in a good distance and understand a lot of the problems in the world with this. i see the good things, belive me! with all facettes.this is not my problem.
my problem is: in a little vision of ds ( a very very little one) it scary me a little bit. he was red and his face was angry.ok he had the third eye, but in this moment i think: tara is nicer to me 🙂 she don´t scary me. i respect ds. and all the things in this thing. the place of the picture of him in my room is not so central.i want respect him, but i would like to take my focus to vajrayogini. i want not to make it to my problem, you know? i feel that there is a tendence in me to want to be proud and better. often i think: hey..it´s thsonghkapa.it´s the best way. so it is…then i remember: don´t embarass the buddha…. Do YOU know the Dala LAma ;o)
Oh Tsem Rinpoche. The world is often crazy. I remember the words of mobys song: It´s a kind of funny, it´s a kind of sad…the dreams in wich i am dying are the best i ever had…. 🙂 I think moby knows the dreamyoga from the night.
i often asked myself why i like dzogchen and chan…etc….because i am a bad student…everything is good in view and do nothing is often more easyer like study all the things you tell me: shantideva, nagarjuna….and so one and so one. pabhonka books i have got are: freedom in your hands part one and two. it is the great transmission he gaves long time ago to all the lamas you know? i think you know what i mean.
so long..good night my dearest tsem rinpoche.i hope vajrayogini visit my dreams. with love my dearest funny deepest guru….marten
FYI TTR has urged his students to follow HHDL’s advice NOT to worship DS. He often recommends Lama Tsongkhapa as a main practice, and Setrap as protector. VY and Yamantaka are HYT practices for which few of us are ready, or have the merit to receive, but we can venerate images of them and hope to practice them later.
