Enjoy a break – Dreams from 1977
My dear blog friends,
Another wonderful song for all you to enjoy while taking a break. I want you to have some nice music to relax you throughout your stressful days…I like to include the lyrics always because songs have more meaning when we know exactly what the singer is saying…enjoy…

Fleetwood Mac – Dreams from 1977
LYRICS
Now here you go again
You say you want your freedom
Well, who am I to keep you down?
It’s only right that you should
Play the way you feel itBut listen carefully to the sound
Of your loneliness
Like a heartbeat drives you mad
In the stillness of remembering
What you had
And what you lost…
And what you had…
And what you lost(Oooooh)
Oh, thunder only happens when it’s raining
Players only love you when they’re playing
Say, women…they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean, you’ll know
You’ll knowNow here I go again, I see, the crystal visions
I keep my visions to myself
It’s only me
Who wants to wrap around your dreams and
Have you any dreams you’d like to sell?
Dreams of loneliness…
Like a heartbeat drives you mad…
In the stillness of remembering
What you had
And what you lost…
What you had…
Ooh, what you lostThunder only happens when it’s raining
Players only love you when they’re playing
Women, they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean, you’ll knowOh, thunder only happens when it’s raining
Players only love you when they’re playing
Say women, they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean, you’ll know
You’ll know
You will know
Oh, oh, oh you’ll know

Beautiful ,meaningful songs if you listern and reading the lyrics.
In the stillness of remembering What you had,And what you lost…,And what you had…and what you lost …..well said i love this part.
Fleetwood Mac was not my favourite singer though yet i enjoyed this oldies songs.
Since now i have Dharma in me i do like to listern to Buddhist songs example of Tsongkhapa’s blessings songs and Tibetan music.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this meaningful song for relaxing after a stressful day.
Dear Rinpoche,
Thank you for sharing this song.
I do not know that this song was sang by Fleetwood Mac. The version i listened is from The Corrs.
I like this song. Before i have learn about dharma, i am just enjoying the song. Now, with some dharma in me, i begin to appreciate the lyrics.
We always looking for fun, enjoy and freedom. But, we sort of forget that the freedom and enjoyment we seek does not last long and we are constantly strike with loneliness. The more we endure our desire, the more we become lonely.
Thus, when we are in dharma, when we understand this nature. We should push ourself more to do dharma, to benefit others.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this music.
With Love, Freon
Thank you for sharing this song. It was a much needed break from my exams. I have to go back to studying again >.< I am not a fan of fleetwood mac but it was rather interesting!
I love this song! Its always soothing and nice to listen to the oldies as they are so much more different from the modern and boring songs. I would always prefer to choose oldies over anything else. I am actually going through the blog and listening to this now in KFR on a cool and comfortable night!
I am not a big fan of fleetwood mac but I do recall they were rather big in the 90s while I was still in school. They didn’t play their music that much over here in Malaysia but ever since I met Rinpoche that I became exposed to their cool music. I very much liked this one as the Irish group The Corrs did a more upbeat cover of this song – > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BglEyv5O2Y
And I also I loved the other song called Landslide and it was so good that Dixie Chicks did a cover of this song as well. Naturally, the cover song was sort of ‘countrified’ as Dixie Chicks were sort of a country band. But I guess nothing captures the magic quite like the original songs. Here’s the cover of landslide by Dixie Cheeks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4_wXPZ1Bnk and the original one song can be heard here :- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WM7-PYtXtJM
Hello Rinpoche!
Here is a song I thought you might like as well. Not from 1977, but the same kind of feel. It’s called “Southern Cross” by Crosby, Stills, and Nash. I always think of Tara when I listen to this. I change the lyrics in my head to better fit. Here are some of the lyrics and ones I have changed:
“I have been around the world,
Lookin’ for that woman/girl,
Who knows love can endure.
And you know it will.”
(Makes me think of ALL the countless lives we have lived and how striking and compassionate Tara is.)
(Here are some of my changes)
When you see the Tara for the first time
You understand now why you came this way (to a Dharma Center).
‘Cause the truth you might be runnin’ from is so small.
But it’s as big as the promise – The promise of a comin’ day. (Liberation and Enlightenment)
So I’m sailing for tomorrow – My dreams are a dyin'(renunciation).
And my love is a Mala tied to you – Tied with a silver chain.
I have my ship (sailing over and out of Samsara) and all her prayer flags are a flyin’
Compassion is all that I have left – And music is in her name.(mantra)
So we cheated and we lied and we tested.
And we never failed to fail; it was the easiest thing to do.
You will survive being bested.
Somebody fine will come along make me forget about loving you (you being Samsara)
in the Southern Cross.
