The ‘Emperor’?????
Su Ming sent me this picture just 15 mins ago and it’s hysterical…let me explain.
1. About a week ago, Mr Ngeow had a cateract surgery on his eyes. So he has to rest his eyes for around two weeks. And not overuse and strain them.
2. Today he joined me on site to see the progress of the KH renovations. I told him since he is having a meeting tonight, the lights are very glaring, so keep a towel on his head to shade the eyes during the meeting. It would help. He listened.
3. So here’s Mr Ngeow at 5:oo am still in the meeting with towel on his eye. Hehe
So Su Ming sent me this pic and said Mr Ngeow looks like the Emperor from Star Wars…or the ‘other’ emperor…heheheheheh so funny that I had to blog it now.
Of course Mr Ngeow is a hardworking Liaison of Kechara House and we love him, but HE SURE IS SUPER FUNNY FUNNY FUNNY!! Hehe…Very nice guy too.

Dear Rinpoche, yes indeed Mr Ngeow do looked like a Emperor. Put the funny look away Mr Ngeow respect Rinpoche very much because even after his eye surgery he still come for his meeting, although his eyes are very sensitive to lights.
hahahahahahaha this is hilarious and frankly quite serious. but still this is soooooooo funny and just looking at that picture reminds me of star wars and i thought that was sooooo funny!!! wow i wish i was there to see but i would pass out because it is at 5 am…hehe
Jedi Ngeow in d hse yo!
Mr Ngeow is very hardworking and always tireless gives Dharma Teaching, and I love his way of teaching Dharma.
This photo is is funny, but if he is not dedicated, he could have gone home and rest at home. Yet the choose to continue to contribute to others.
A big Thank you to Mr Ngeow!!
Nothing and no one surprises me in Kechara! In events and in meetings, we come in all shapes and sizes, ending in tears and laughter.
Can someone read this out to Ngeow aloud since he’s ‘blind’ and ‘deaf’?
R U OKKKKAAAAAYYYYY NOW?
I MAY NOT SEE YOU CLEARLY BUT I HEAR YOUR MESSAGE . I TAKE CARE OF MY EYES, YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR LUNGS OLD MAN HENRY !
I may not see you clearly for awhile, BUT I READ YOUR MESSAGE.
I take care of my eyes, YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR LUNGS OLD MAN HENRY!
Yes, the first thing that struck me when I read this was the fantastic Guru devotion that Ngeow had in following Rinpoche’s suggestions down to a tee, because ultimately, not only does it help cut out the glare of the lights, but I don’t think anyone with an overego would have behaved in such a noble manner! There is teaching in everything.
Mr Ngeow was so cute in the meeting – sure provided lots of laughs in between too.
You gotta love Mr Ngeow. In spite of the discomfort (well, it can’t be altogether that much fun nor very glamorous sitting there with a towel on your head!). but he stayed with us throughout the whole long meeting and listened out extra hard throughout the meeting (no eyes, so the ears kicked in).
We love you uncle ngeow!
When i read Su Ming’s sms… i really had a good laugh because she was so right. Mr Ngeow looked like the Emperor! I had a laugh reading some of the comments above too. Kechara really is so special. Even in a serious meeting like last night’s, there were moments of humour – this time kindly provided by Ngeow. Thank you Rinpoche for this huge loving Dharma family..
Dear Mr. Ngeow. though you may have looked funny, you have proven your point that following guru devotion instructions to relieve you of your sufferings will never get you wrong. Salutation to you for your strong faith, dear uncle Darth Vadar Ngeow.
I agree with Rinpoche that Mr. Ngeow were so so so funny last nite when he came in for meeting. I think he looks like a Mafia with the dark glasses he wore. That was ok not so funny. Until Li Kim said Rinpoche advised that because of his cataract eye operation he must put a towel over his head to shield of light from his eyes. According to the picture in Rinpoche blog he even had a blanket thrown over his body. Then came the Starwars part when Su ming brought out the Darth Vader’s helmet wanting to put on him. But did not. Then came the last part of the funnies about Mr. Ngeow. Instead of looking like a MAFIA as earlier described he had turned into a STARWARS EMPEROR
Mr Ngeow, you are really funny!!! You followed your Guru’s instruction very well. Happy quick healing dear Ngeow.
Welcome to the dark side Mr Ngeow. The power of the Sith will prevail over the Jedi Scum ! I was there when this picture was taken. Mr Ngeow shares a lot of dharma with me , dharma that in many ways helped me to check where I am, whether am I real or not. Very helpful person and never tires to share with others all that he knows. I thank Mr Ngeow a lot for his time and care 🙂
I couldn’t help but think that he looks like a shy bride (think blushing Chinese bride of days gone by)!!!
Mr Ngeow is really a sport! Have a speedy recovery, Mr Ngeow!
haha….the black swan leader…. now turn into the swan emperor….. haha..so cute…
You can never go wrong following your Guru’s instructions, however weird.
Not only does it make others laugh, the prescription of covering the towel over my eyes really work to ease the discomfort and strain.
It helped me stay through the long meeting without much problem and I got chance to become an emperor for one night he he . I don’t want to be this emperor any longer as he is after all on the Dark side. Someone even brought out a helmet to want to seal my head in ! A lot of obstacles we have to face when we are practicing Dharma he he
This is very funny. Best healing wishes for the great Mr Ngeow!
It was really funny and those in the meeting had a good laugh earlier.
If Su Ming pointed her camera more to the right, you can see Darth Vader’s helmet! The scene would be such a classic!
How fun meetings in the Ladrang is with all the funny characters in Kechara. There is never a dull moment. 🙂
LOL. You look good Mr Ngeow. I was guessing who this was on Elena’s twitter pic which only showed the back and I got it totally wrong.
…hiding from work?? 😛
Hahaha, to be honest, I feel that when he speaks with a towel over his head he gets to the point a lot quicker..instead of the usual long speech.
He made the comment, ‘perhaps I should hold the Manjushri class with the towel on my head!!’. Funny, but good idea!
Maybe, I should go around with a towel over my head to embetter my speech 😛
We heard from Li Kim that Uncle Ngeow had said because he had eye surgery, his ears weren’t working too well…probably a slip of the tongue because Li Kim kept shouting at him throughout the entire meeting just to tease him…and he took the entire thing in his stride, even making jokes about himself hehehe a comedy pair!
This is hilarious!!! It is soooooooo like the emperor!!! We really have the whole spectrum here in Kechara!
It was even funnier when he started speaking because there was this talking ‘towel’ in the boardroom…
