Ok, who is ready to see something super duper funny??? Yes, it is my personal Court Jester (宫廷小丑). He himself found the hat and brought it over… so now whenever he comes over, he is suppose to tell me stories to entertain me?? And give me new news… I like news… Hehe… what do you think… is he on the way to egolessness or what??

Dear Rinpoche, are the four video links above realted to the Court Jester? The 2 special videos that made me really laugh is ‘David Lai’s TOO SEXY catwalk in Bangsar and I’m TOO SEXY. But the second one is the funniest because David was dancing in a restaurant.
I’ve known David for about a decade now, and you know we may laugh at David, but seriously it takes guts and a person who is not attached to their ego to be able to do this… being His Eminence’s court gesture… seriously. Think about it.. can you? Can you do this and be filmed by your Guru and blog about it to the world? What great merits David has to make a Buddha laugh?! Wow! Bravo David, I applaud you for your abilities and courage I know I do not have to be your Lama’s own personal court gesture… most importantly, bring laughter to your own Guru.
Dear Rinpoche, David is so funny in these videos, especially the two videos named David Lai’s TOO SEXY catwalk in Bangsar!!! and Mr. Stomach talks to David. I love it, hahaha! I hope there will be more videos of David entertaining Rinpoche.

Rinpoche is like Yamantaka with fierce compassion. And he employs all kinds of methods to tame the minds of his students. Nothing is spared from Rinpoche’s arsenal. David gets to be very close with Rinpoche and he has an excellent memory.Thanks David for the laughs 🙂

Haha… David, this reminded me during the first time I saw your video 3-4 years back (i think in Damekhang if I’m not wrong) that the video is shooting in Ikea and Bangsar, I couldn’t stop laughing for days, initially i was thinking why are you acting like that as compare to when you are in outlet, very knowledgeable and look serious, only till later when I understand more, then only i know what’s this all about..
That’s what I like in Kechara, doing what other people don’t dare to do, be ourselves and be different, anyways, we are all different after all…

Court jesters are known to be people of superior wit and cleverness able to keep the King company. They are in fact, no fool. David is probably one of a handful people amongst Rinpoche’s students who are dharma encyclopedias. Being very rich in knowledge and also serious looking, it is inspiring to see how David has no qualms casting all that aside to be Rinpoche’s student with no ego.

We are very very lucky to meet Rinpoche, and to have an opportunity to be near and trained by Him. Some of us, might think why?? Rinpoche do this to his students…..is the training of the mind.

OMG! David is so funny with the court jester hat!!! LOL! He’s always been very sporting with Rinpoche. I noticed that he is less stiff now in the video as a court jester. That was a good performance considering that it was at 6am! hehe. The other videos taken in years 2008 and 2010 were hilarious as well.
In a way, we are all like court jesters as well, fooling ourselves with our delusions.

very very funny. David has come a long long way, from catwalking in Bangsar, to parading around ikea in a white sheet, to i’m too sexy dances. All in the name of the quest for egolessness thanks to Rinpoche’s skillful ways. If you didnt know better you would think it was an odd thing for a spiritual teacher to do. But with insight into Rinpoche’s methods, you are just blown away by the deeper meaning behind everything he does.

I LOVE THIS! I agree – a journey to egolessness, the Lama will find all kinds of INTERESTING WAYS to get us to do whatever and not have “issues” about it.
This court jester thing has been a bit of a running joke among us in Ladrang and with David and Rinpoche. David works hard during the day, then comes over to Ladrang often in the evenings to help out, volunteer with the works here, and of course, talk to Rinpoche. heheheheh So you know whose good side to get on….
Was thinking too that in stories of old, shakespeare etc, it is always the court jester who imparts the greatest wisdom – his riddles and taunts are most often filled with warnings, predictions and insights into the human psyche… So DAVID – are you full of this same profound wisdom in between the clowning about???

Since I joined Kechara, I have gotten really strange friends, weird friends, “funny” friends, but they are the best friends because they don’t let themselves down, nor others down, they are not closed-minded, they are not sectarians, they don’t have hidden agendas, they are good influence (and some of them are so entertaining)!
So I feel so fortunate to have create the causes to have such company in this life…
They don’t come around easy, I say…

Different peoples with different conception. Some peoples may easy to cheer up himself or other peoples, and they are the most optimistical person. Some may not like that. As i wake up from the day, i will chose something so called right outfit to cheer my day up or i may chose to smile more to peoples or even have a fast walks. So to bring my energy up up UP! Indeed, life is roller coaster up & down. Do remind myself be happy & positive mind thinking.
