H.E. Tsem Rinpoche’s first live streaming!
Dear friends around the world,
I noticed recently that a lot of people have been live-streaming video on Facebook to express themselves. I thought that it was pretty interesting to know that these people are actually ‘live’ and this inspired me to try live-streaming myself. So I told a few students including Pastor Seng Piow and Pastor Jean Ai about it and they helped to set up my computer in order to do this.
The first setup was a rudimentary experiment and I gave the live-streaming a test run and somehow, one thing led to another and I ended up talking for three hours on Facebook. The good thing about Facebook live-streaming is the fact that the video is saved and all that I have shared will not disappear. The entire talk has also been uploaded on YouTube so everybody can benefit from this talk. I don’t really like computers and social media but I can see that it is a powerful tool to spread the Dharma. Therefore, please take the time to listen to this talk in which I expressed my emotions and experience of practising Dorje Shugden all these years. Some of the points that I covered in my talk have been summarised by my students below. Thank you.

Highlights from the talk
- Rinpoche gave a general explanation about his parents: his father who was a Tibetan ex-monk Lobsang Gyatso and his mother, Dewa Nimbo who is of Kalmyk-Mongol royalty; how they met in Taiwan and how Rinpoche was conceived; how he was placed under foster care; and eventually adopted into a Kalmyk family in, Howell, New Jersey.
- Rinpoche spoke a little about the Kalmyk people and how they migrated from Mongolia into Eastern Europe, China and as far away as America in order to escape the ravages of World War II. It was in America that they settled mainly in the tristate area – New Jersey, Philadelphia and New York.
- Rinpoche arrived in Howell, New Jersey in 1971 and was placed in the care of his foster parents, Boris and Dana Bugayeff. The temple they attended was called Rashi Gempil Ling, and the resident teacher at the centre was Sera Mey’s Kensur Lobsang Tharchin. As a young boy, Rinpoche found familiarity going to this temple and he wanted to be a monk and live there.
- The clash between the wishes of his foster parents and Rinpoche drove him to run away from home and hitchhike to Los Angeles at the age of 15. He ended up moving into the Thubten Dhargye Ling centre on St Andrew’s Place and became a student of Geshe Tsultim Gyeltsen, the resident teacher.
- Rinpoche related the story of how he met Dorje Shugden for the first time when he requested Geshe-la’s blessings to get a job nearby and Geshe-la in turn told him to prostrate to a thangka of Dorje Shugden and pray. Needless to say, he got the job.
- Rinpoche related his experience serving in the centre and how they engaged in regular Dorje Shugden and Setrap pujas.
- Kyabje Zong Rinpoche was the teacher of Geshe-la and was invited to come visit in order to give teachings. Rinpoche was chosen to be the attendant and served Zong Rinpoche.
- Rinpoche related how he requested for a Dharma protector and was told to practise Dorje Shugden. Consequently, Rinpoche was given sogtae (life entrustment initiation) of Dorje Shugden from Kyabje Zong Rinpoche.
- Rinpoche said there was no issue with practising Dorje Shugden until 1996 when Dorje Shugden practice suddenly became wrong. The basis of the ban on Dorje Shugden is the premise that Dorje Shugden is a spirit or demon, but this would undermine the teachings of Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche. In turn, this would undermine the teachings of the Dalai Lama as well because everything he knows comes from Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche himself, one of the Dalai Lama’s two tutors.
- Dorje Shugden practitioners are called Chinese spies and Rinpoche expressed that it is unwise to say that about China considering the Tibetan cause of seeking autonomy from China. It would be better to be friends and find ways to improve relations with China. Rinpoche feels that all Tibetans should reach out to China, especially the Dalai Lama.
- According to Gurupanchasika (50 Stanzas of Guru Devotion) one cannot find fault in the Guru’s teachings and therefore, one cannot simply say that Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche was wrong about Dorje Shugden.
- Saying that Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche was wrong about Dorje Shugden would mean that the Dalai Lama himself could be wrong as well.
- Since Rinpoche cannot ask Kyabje Zong Rinpoche if he should give up the practice or not since he has already entered clear light, therefore he has no option but to excuse himself from the Dalai Lama’s instruction to give up the practice.
- Rinpoche shared the reasons that he continues the practice of Dorje Shugden is not for political reasons or that he is stubborn. It is merely to maintain the promise he made to practise Dorje Shugden.
- Contrary to what many people think, Dorje Shugden cannot harm the Dalai Lama as he is an incarnation of Chenrezig and a pure monk. Saying that the Dalai Lama can be harmed by Dorje Shugden contradicts the Dalai Lama’s attainments.
- If Dorje Shugden is an evil spirit, he can be subdued or his mind liberated to a pure land through the use of Buddhist rituals. There are many powerful yidams (meditational deities) and protectors that have rituals to destroy an evil spirit. Is Dorje Shugden more powerful than these Buddhas?
- It would be a lot easier to follow the Dalai Lama and renounce Dorje Shugden and gain the tremendous benefit from aligning with the Dalai Lama. But what matters more on the spiritual path is keeping one’s promises.
Below are some comments that were left on Rinpoche’s Facebook Fanpage during the live streaming:

(Geshe Tsultim Gyeltsen speaks in Los Angeles requesting for Dorje Shugden sogtae (initiation) from His Holiness Kyabje Zong Rinpoche)
My root guru His Holiness Kyabje Zong Tulku Dorje Chang Lobsang Tsundu Thubten Gyeltsen gives most emanation deity Gyalchen Dorje Shugden’s life entrustment initiation along with very pure and excellent biographies and stories, here is the voice record while giving the empowerment.
I, Geshe Tsultim Gyeltsen student formally requested.
His Holiness Kyabje Zong Rinpoche speaks on Dorje Shugden
(His Holiness Kyabje Zong Rinpoche begins to speak through a translator)
After receiving this Dorje Shugden initiation, you have to do puja once a month. Also, it is necessary to follow the commitment, and you have to make a commitment with the lineage and with the order.
So that means, for example you [might] receive teachings from different traditions but mainly, your practice, your focus, your energy [should be put] into this lineage, the Gelugpa lineage.
If you have to or if you wish to do some kind of Dharmic activities with other sects of Buddhism, that is okay to do some kind of activities but your main practice or the principle practice, you have to make the commitment with this lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa. That’s why I mentioned before, you have to know and told that you should not take initiation if you are not sure. So once you take this initiation, then you have to make a commitment with the Gelug lineage and this is necessary not to mix up everything.
There are sometimes rumours that people say, “Oh, Shugden initiation is not…”, people say that it is not necessary to take Shugden initiation or, some people say Shugden is even not good protector.
That is not true. People who have this Shugden initiation and people who practice Dorje Shugden, those people have very great, successful meditation and practice. Even worldly measures, like worldly activities and business and job; everything becomes very successful.
Because it says Dorje Shugden is a Gelugpa protector, so some people they think when you say ‘Gelugpa protector’, they think we are narrow-minded and they think people who practice Shugden, they think they are narrow-minded and they think people who practice Shugden, they are sectarian. Actually, not sectarian…maybe because they are sectarian so they think that the people who practice Shugden are sectarian. People make up all kinds of stories and rumours, you should know that beforehand.
Some people, after taking the Shugden initiation and teachings, when they hear these rumours, they think…ignorant people, narrow-minded people make those rumours, and some people think that it is true and so maybe they give up the practice or they even don’t want to have this protector which is very bad, and that is not good for the person.
Actually it is up to you, whatever you want to do is up to you; your own life, everything is your own choice and your freedom and your own enlightenment, and what you want to do or not is up to you but I’m talking about what is good for you. You have to be very careful about what you do and you should not become gullible; you should not just follow someone saying “this is no good” and listen to all these stories from people. You should not change your mind, and you should always be aware and you have to make sure.
In Tibet, it doesn’t matter what people say and actually in Tibet, there’s many people who follow this and do this practice and actually, always there’s more and more people who do this kind of meditation.
So you have to know this, you have to be very sure or otherwise, later on, if people say to you “Oh, this practice is no good” and they make all kinds of stories and rumours…then if you give up, then it’s not good for you and then it will be a big mistake for you. Therefore you have to make sure that you keep this commitment and follow this commitment.
Because this is your own choice, and no one says you should do or you must do this and your own…like you choose to do this so you have to think about this very carefully. No one says you must do this without your own choice, and it’s like if you don’t want to and no one can say “you should do this or shouldn’t do this.”
(repeated) Because it says Dorje Shugden is a Gelugpa protector, so some people they think when you say ‘Gelugpa protector’, they think we are narrow-minded and they think people who practice Shugden, they think they are narrow-minded and they think people who practice Shugden, they are sectarian. Actually, not sectarian…maybe because they are sectarian so they think that the people who practice Shugden are sectarian. People make up all kinds of stories and rumours, you should know that beforehand.
This is a very special protector and very precious, so therefore you have to do puja monthly.
You have to do the puja once a month, the prayer, long sadhana or long prayer, once a month but if, for example, if next month, if you know you’re going to be very very busy, if you know that you can’t do this, it’s impossible – then you can do the puja for next month, this month. The month before, you can do two [pujas] within two days.
If you don’t know how to read the sadhana, the prayers; if you cannot do the sadhana or you’re unable to do [the sadhana], then you also can ask the Lama, or monks or teachers to do this for you.
It is very important to know that you really want to take this initiation, and it is not just to come here and take this initiation because other people are taking this initiation. If you feel “I should do this and if I don’t do, then maybe I’m going to miss something”, that is the wrong idea. If you really want to make the commitment, then you should take. Otherwise you shouldn’t.
As I mentioned before, if you don’t know how to say the prayer and if you’re unable to do the puja once a month, then you can ask a Lama or your friend who knows this prayer and this monthly puja – you can invite them to your place, and ask them to do the puja.
Or if you can’t do [the puja] at your home, then even if it’s long-distance, like at some kind of monastery or where the Lama or the friend is – you can ask them, or him or her, to do this puja.
The reason I’m saying this again and again is because if you don’t follow just any kind of people, and if you’re not gullible, then it’s okay.
However, it is possible sometimes that even a Lama or monk or some kind of teacher says “this is not right, and it’s wrong, and you shouldn’t do this kind of practice” – then it’s possible that you can change your mind. You think, “Because a Lama or some kind of teacher is saying this to me, maybe it’s true” – so people are very easily influenced and they can change their minds.
And one of the reasons because many Westerners don’t know the Dharma deeply, and all the significance and symbolism and the meanings. They also don’t know who is the right teacher and who is not the right teacher; they just go wherever there is a teacher or some sort of Lama, and they go and listen to all these teachings and that’s why. Westerners are generally very honest people, very direct, and very…they’re good people, they have a good heart.
Like in India or in Tibet, sometimes they…some people, they don’t practice Shugden but they say they are practicing Shugden. And some people, they do practice and they say something else. What people say and what they do is different, and so there’s kind of a corruption.
In India, some people mislead other people, other Tibetans. When some Tibetans ask them to do the Shugden puja, they will say, “Yes, I will do puja for you.” But after they go, they will do something else, and not the Shugden puja – they do another different puja. The people who asked them to do puja, they don’t know – if they can’t read, they can’t read and write – that these people say they are doing Shugden puja, but they don’t do it. They do something else and they just do what they want to do, and it’s very bad.
The reason why they do that is because in India and Tibet, householders will invite laypeople or monks to do this puja. It is a long puja and long day, so the household makes offerings like dana. These people are lying, saying they’re doing the Shugden puja but they don’t do. And they actually don’t like to do Shugden puja but in order to get some kind of benefit or money or some other reason, they say they do the pujas and it’s very very bad and very samsaric motivation.
Eventually those people, the householders who request for the Shugden puja will know or realise; they know that these people are not doing the right puja because they feel that it is not helping. It is not working because they are not doing the real puja. Eventually, they can feel intuitively because it is not helping, it doesn’t feel right. They will say they don’t want those people to do the puja, and will ask someone and make sure that the people who do the Shugden puja, are also practicing Shugden.
Here, we don’t have that kind of problems and there is no doubt. I’m just talking about general stories so that you have some type of understanding and everything.

Addendum
Central Tibetan Administration’s Website
Below is a screenshot of Tibet.net, which is the Tibetan leadership’s website. In it, they have a section with “information” about Dorje Shugden which is designed to promote hatred, negativity and direct vulgarities towards Shugden practitioners. What kind of democratic leadership has a section like this on their site targeting a religious group? Imagine the uproar there would be if the American or Canadian, or any other democratic government had sections like this on their site for the public!
His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Website
This is a screenshot of DalaiLama.com which is the official website of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. When this section exists on His Holiness’ website, it actually emboldens Tibetans to discriminate against and segregate Shugden practitioners. This section is basically the Dalai Lama’s ‘endorsement’ of such behaviour; when anti-Shugden individuals see this, they think it is okay to segregate against the practice “because the Dalai Lama said so”. I don’t think the Dalai Lama would agree with this but the webmaster and shadow writers behind his website should not put this type of anti-Dorje Shugden section which subscribes to discrimination against a group because of religion. In the 21st century, this is not fitting of a great spiritual leader like His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Do not discriminate tolerate; is the way to go.
If the Dorje Shugden ban is just advice and not a ban, then why is a section like this necessary on any website?
Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile’s Resolution Stating Government Employees Should Not Rely on Dorje Shugden
In 1996, the Tibetan leadership passed a resolution stating that all departments (and ergo their employees) should not rely on Dorje Shugden (point 8). The resolution also stated that individuals who do engage in its worship will harm the Dalai Lama’s life and the so-called Tibetan cause. That being the case, how will anyone within the Tibetan settlements and government be able to openly engage in Dorje Shugden practice after that, if their worship has been widely labelled as anti-Dalai Lama, anti-CTA and treasonous? To openly practice after that will leave them open to criticism, vulgarities, harassment and discrimination, as Dorje Shugden practitioners have been for the last 20 years. So they will be left with three options: to give up the practice (which many will not do), to practice secretly, or to give up their jobs.
Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile’s Resolution Naming Dorje Shugden Practitioners as Criminals in History
This is a screenshot of tibet.net, the Central Tibetan Administration’s official website, which shows the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile’s unanimous resolution dated 17 March 2014 naming Dorje Shugden practitioners as criminals in history (point 3, paragraph 2).
VIDEO: Dalai Lama bans Dorje Shugden practice
and expels monks
His Holiness the Dalai Lama was recorded in Drepung Monastery in 2008 clearly stating that those who refused to give up their Dorje Shugden practice should be expelled from the monasteries. His Holiness even said that if people found it difficult to fulfill this instruction, that they should say that the Dalai Lama told them to expel Dorje Shugden practitioners.
My question is this: if giving up Dorje Shugden practice is just advice, and it is up to us who we wish to rely on, then why are there such heavy repercussions for people who choose to keep the practice? As a result of His Holiness saying this, thousands of Shugden monks were expelled from the monasteries, and were forced to set up their own monasteries where they would be able to continue their Dorje Shugden practice.
VIDEO: Dorje Shugden practitioner rejected
from Gaden Shartse Monastery Guest House
A Dorje Shugden practitioner enquiring about room rates at the Gaden Shartse Monastery Guest House in Majnu-ka-tilla, Delhi was rejected by the hotel staff and asked to leave.
VIDEO: France 24 reports on the Dorje Shugden issue
France 24 is a reputable news network based in France, known for their objective reporting style. They covered the Dorje Shugden issue extensively, surely a reflection of the seriousness of the issue for them to devote so much airtime to it. In their video, France 24 captured on film the discrimination against a Dorje Shugden monk.
VIDEO: Al Jazeera reports on the Dorje Shugden issue
Based in the Middle East, Al Jazeera was formed in response to the heavy influence of Western culture on the media. They are known to cover controversial topics that other news agencies may be reluctant to cover, and provide hard-hitting, objective coverage of current affairs.
Evidence of the Ban
Over the years, my students have collected evidence of the ban against Dorje Shugden. Personally, I find it quite disappointing and sad that they have been able to collect so much evidence because it just goes to show how widespread and pervasive this ban has become. As you can see below, notices banning Dorje Shugden practitioners can be found just about anywhere in the Tibetan settlements. Whether a Dorje Shugden person is trying to access healthcare or enter a restaurant, or try to buy something from a shop, they are banned everywhere and refused service. How is this just ‘advice’ when the repercussions of practising Dorje Shugden are so violent inside the Tibetan communities and settlements?

Dear friends,
Tibet has produced many powerful meditations, rituals and guidelines to help us gain spiritual protection, gain wisdom and higher states of consciousness. In general Tibet has produced many powerful methods for the growth of our spiritual evolution. Dorje Shugden is an angel, a saint, a powerful spiritual protector-warrior who originated 350 years ago when a highly awakened Tibetan Lama fulfilled his vows to become a special being to grant protection, wisdom, material needs, safety when travelling (normal and astral travel) and spiritual awakening. Both the Great 5th Dalai Lama and the current His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama composed short yet effective prayers to invoke upon the power and blessings of this special saint and protector. One can recite either one of the prayers that you feel suits you, anytime or even daily. When you feel a special need for help, you can recite either prayer anytime. When you are feeling down, afraid or just need a blessing, you can recite them. After reciting either invocation, it is good to chant the mantra of Dorje Shugden: Om Benza Wiki Bitana Soha.
You do not have to be a Buddhist or practitioner of any religion to invoke upon the blessings and protection of this special enlightened and awakened angel Dorje Shugden. He helps all without discrimination or bias as he is filled with compassion and love. Divinity has no boundaries, they help all who call upon them.
Enclosed are the prayers in English, Chinese and Tibetan.
May you be safe, protected and blessed.

Divination (‘mo’) Text by Dorje Shugden
This is an important divination (‘mo’) text composed by Dorje Shugden himself. Dorje Shugden took trance of the Choyang Dulzin oracle lama, the senior oracle of Gaden Shartse Monastery, and instantly on the spot composed this text within two hours.
The divination text contains information on how to use dice to do divination for the future and is known to be highly accurate. When practitioners use this text, they will be in direct contact with Dorje Shugden to get answers to questions about the future. It is for those who have good samaya with Dorje Shugden and are free of the eight worldly dharmas to be of benefit to others in divining the future.

For the first time available, Dorje Shugden and his entourage of 32 asssistants of his mandala.
Dorje Shugden is a powerful protector deity who is also an emanation of Manjushri, a wisdom bestowing Buddha. Therefore, he has great ability to help us to progress further on the spiritual path. He does this by helping us to overcome obstacles and problems for the modern individual.

2. 9 Mothers. They represent protection of the five senses and developing control of the four elements. These are all attributes that signify their ability to assist tantric practitioners with their higher meditations.
3. 8 Guiding Monks. They represent the Eight Great Bodhisattvas (Avalokitesvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Samantabhadra, Maitreya, Kshitigarbha, Akashagarbha, Sarva-nivarana-viskambini) and they bring about the growth of the Dharma, through the Sangha, Dharma practitioners and Dharma establishments.
4. 10 Youthful & Wrathful Attendants. They represent the ten wrathful attendants to avert inner and outer obstacles. They are beings who are from Mongolia, China, Kashmir, India, Bengali, etc.

6. Kache Marpo. He is not an emanation of Dorje Shugden but he is still an enlightened Dharma Protector in his own right. He was originally known as Tsiu Marpo of Samye Monastery. However, he has placed himself under the service of Dorje Shugden as his chief minister, performing many activities in order to protect and benefit practitioners. Therefore, he stands guard at the main entrance of Dorje Shugden’s mandala. He often takes trance of qualified mediums to speak.
7. Namkar Barzin. He is the reincarnation of an old Mongolian monk and when he passed away in Phari area of Tibet, his spirit was placed as a powerful assistant of Dorje Shugden. His Holiness the 10th Panchen Lama
Tibetans commonly refer to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama as the “sun and moon” of Tibetan Buddhism. They are the center of Tibetan Buddhist civilization, which draws to its sphere of influence millions of non-Tibetan practitioners. The Panchen Lama’s incarnation line began with the 16th abbot of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen (1570 – 1662). He was bestowed the title of Panchen Lama by His Holiness the 5th Dalai Lama after being declared as an emanation of Amitabha.
After being given the title, his three previous incarnations were posthumously also bestowed the title, making Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen the 4th Panchen Lama. He became a teacher to many Tibetans, Bhutanese and Mongolian religious figures, including His Holiness the 4th and 5th Dalai Lamas, and the 1st Jetsun Dampa of Mongolia. A prolific author, Chokyi Gyeltsen is credited with over a hundred compositions, including a number of commentaries and ritual texts that remain central in the Gelukpa tradition today. Along with his role as a teacher of the Dharma, the Panchen Lamas are usually responsible for the recognition of the rebirths of the Dalai Lamas, and vice versa.
The 10th Panchen Lama, Lobsang Trinley Lhundrub Chokyi Gyeltsen (19 February 1938 – 28 January 1989) continued both the spiritual and political roles of his predecessors. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, his contemporary, was even heard to say and echo the Panchen Lama’s own words that the Dalai Lama would safeguard Tibet from the outside while the Panchen Lama would safeguard Tibet from the inside, as he never left Tibet after the political troubles of 1959. He was truly loved by the Tibetans, all the way until his passing. When he taught, thousands of people would attend, not only from his own Gelug lineage, but masters and practitioners from all traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.
At his sprawling monastery of Tashi Lhunpo, he has a special chapel specifically dedicated to Dorje Shugden, where prayers and rituals are performed on a daily basis. In his great omniscience the Panchen Lama held Dorje Shugden as the principal Dharma protector of the monastery. He also personally propitiated Dorje Shugden among other Dharma protectors, and even wrote extensive prayers and rituals to Dorje Shugden. These rituals and prayers are contained within his ‘sung bum’ or collected works, which are provided here. As such a great lama, with an erudite and clear understanding of the Buddhist scriptures, a teacher to millions in both Tibet and China, from an established incarnation line and an emanation of the Buddha Amitabha, he could not be mistaken about his practice of Dorje Shugden.
His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama is known for his composition of commentaries and practice texts that are still in use by contemporary Buddhist practitioners both in Tibet and across the world. One of these is a powerful ritual composition propitiating the compassionate Dorje Shugden.
Upon the request by Acharya Lobsang Jangchub to compose a shorter version of the prayer (sadhana) for the exhortation of activities of Dorje Shugden, Panchen Lama immediately composed an abbreviate form of Dorje Shugden’s Kangsol. This text is entitled “Manjunatha’s (Tsongkapa) Lineage protector Dorje Shugden and five forms wrathful propitiations and confessional prayers and fulfilment of activities rites” or “Melodious sound of Accomplishment of the Four Activities” for short. Once the prayers were completed, he had signs and strong feelings that Dorje Shugden has been working hard to protect the Buddhadharma in general and the lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa specifically.
Mirroring the abilities of one of his earlier incarnations, Khedrub Je, a disciple of Lama Tsongkhapa and master of both sutra and tantra, the Panchen Lama used his compositional skill and poetic prowess to create a masterful sadhana. Worthy of note is a praise in which the first letter of each verse is a Tibetan vowel. Such compositions are rarely seen, and have historically only been used when propitiating senior Dharma protectors such as Palden Lhamo and Kalarupa.
The Panchen Lama also stated that while composing the Dorje Shugden sadhana (prayers) he was filled with a sense of happiness and bliss. He ends the composition with not only his official title but his ordination name, Tenzin Trinley Jigme Choje Wangchuk, endorsing the validity of his work. He composed the sadhana in his own Tashi Lhunpo monastery while in the Hall of Clear Light and Bliss.

This elderly & innocent monk in India was brutally attacked, find out why. Shocking – https://www.tsemrinpoche.com/?p=163953
“If the Dalai Lama, if His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by Dorje Shugden, then we might as well not practice Buddhism anymore. If His Holiness the Dalai Lama can have his life shortened by a so-called evil spirit, any evil spirit, then can he be Avalokiteshvara? So on one hand you say, we say, I say, everybody says, he is Avalokiteshvara; on the other hand you’re saying that he can be harmed by an evil spirit… Which one is it? Can he be harmed by an evil spirit or is he Avalokiteshvara? Do you think Avalokiteshvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Tara all take refuge in something else to protect themselves from Dorje Shugden? How illogical is that? How illogical of people to say His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by an evil spirit, any evil spirit or “Dorje Shugden” evil spirit. How is that possible?” – Tsem Tulku Rinpoche

Antique Pelden Lhamo thangka with sacred Dorje Shugden at the bottom right. Can see Tsongkapa and Guru Rinpoche on the top also. Beautiful and holy.
Beautiful picture of His Holiness Kyabje Zong Rinpoche. It is amazing I was able to meet him and learn from him. It was such an amazing opportunity. Tsem Rinpoche
Although Rinpoche has suffered so much from being not with his birth mother and taken care of by a family which abused him although they were paid to do so. And later when he was adopted in the US, and abused by his mother who was sick, Rinpoche did not stay in this pain but he transformed the pain to help others. He was close to the Dharma since young. Although he could not go to the monastery when he was recognised at the age of only seven months, the Dharma center in Howell New Jersey was only 10 minutes away from his home.
Rinpoche did overcome his problems and anger about what happened to him and he transformed it to reach out and help others. In this way, he shows us by example how difficult situations can be transformed and become an inspiration for others. Rinpoche has perfect Guru Devotion and followed his teacher all the way.
Because of Rinpoche’s hard work, devotion and consistent care for others, we are able to know about Dorje Shugden, have this stunning blog and even receive so many sacred practices such as prayers to Dorje Shugden, to Gyenze, Shize, Wangze and Trakze, and many others, who help us to transform our life and live a life which is beneficial to others. Kechara Forest Retreat is another sacred place which is located close to Kuala Lumpur and offers manyfold ways to improve our life and the life of our loved ones.

This video condensed and made simple the history of the Dorje Shugden ban and the sufferings Dorje Shugden people experienced and continue to experience for 20 years. The video also laid out and reveal the truth and facts that Dorje Shugden was the Protector who advised His Holiness the Dalai Lama to flee to India and hence His Holiness’ life is saved. There is no religious freedom for the Dorje Shugden people worldwide because of the Dorje Shugden ban executed by the Central Tibetan Administration. We are, until today being discriminated and persecuted for simply practising our choice of religion and this is the truth.

The message from His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche is clear and is actually what EVERY GOOD LEADER would and should say to UNITE their people regardless of their race or religion. And when there is injustice, Rinpoche is certainly not one of those who would stand on the sidelines and just enjoys his tea, as you can see the many articles, quotes and memes created to highlight the injustice and to create the awareness because as Martin Luther King said, “injustice anywhere is a threat to JUSTICE EVERYWHERE”. So this is why we must speak up when we see something WRONG especially when a minority is being oppressed. It is our duty as a fellow human, Buddhist, Dharma practitioners because we are supposed to kind, humane, caring and good people who cannot just be silent when so many others are suffering. May there be more live streams from Rinpoche… may there be more awareness about the injustice ban be spread so that it will stop.
Wonderful platform for Rinpoche to share with more people having an account of FB. From there they can have live streaming to express each individual opinion on certain interesting subject. Having these live streaming Rinpoche did a lot of sharing with people of different walks of life ,his biography, his spiritual journey, meeting his Guru and on the practice of Dorje Shugden .It s a powerful way to spread Dharma knowledge through social media. It can be shared by many and since the video is saved ,the viewer could see from time to time to get a better understanding .
These live streaming lasted for 3 hours with many beautiful comments.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing. We love HH Dalai Lama and we love Dorje Shugden ..Please resolve the Dorje Shugden issue as soon as possible. and please end the suffering, segregation and prejudice.
H.E. the 25th Tsem Rinpoche is very devoted to his root guru, H.H. Zong Rinpoche.
Thank you Rinpoche for taking time to share and explain at length where you have received the lineage of Dorje Shugden, a unmistaken protector practice from erudite and highly attained Masters. All your explanations are only logical and we should not be ostracised for what we practise. This illogical ban on Dorje Shugden is causing so much havoc and suffering to many people for the past 20 years. It is senseless to continue to segregate Shugden practitioners and cause disharmony and disunity. It is time now the Tibetan leadership stop discrimination and focus to make peace for humanity.
We should fulfil the will of His Holiness the Dalai Lama for an autonomous Tibetan state.
It is so blessed and exciting to be able to watch Rinpoche on live via facebook. I hope Rinpoche will go live via facebook to share dharma with us more often. Thank you very much Rinpoche for making the effort and time to go online sharing dharma with everyone on facebook. ???
Dear friends,
This meme is powerful. Who you hang around with and the types of attitude they have is who you will be influenced by many times and who you will become in the future. Look at your friends and the people that always surround you to know who you will become.

Kyabjye Zong Rinpoche the previous one was one of the last great Gelug Lamas that were trained in Tibet prior to the Chinese invasion. He has held many positions within Gaden Monastery and is the lama of the highest order.
If Zong Rinpoche says something is beneficial I would choose to listen to it also. Tsem Rinpoche gives very very good talks that bring you in, step by step so you can understand what he wants to convey to us. Hope to see Rinpoche more on this platform and bringing the buddha dharma to everyone.
Do watch this short video of H.H. Kyabje Zong Rinpoche ?

Recently Beng Kooi and Martin on behalf of myself and Kechara was lucky to have audience with His Holiness Gaden Trisur Rinpoche Jetsun Lungrik Namgyal of Gaden Shartse Monastery. He lives in around Paris, France. His Holiness is 91 years old and very healthy and alert. He was the 101st throne holder for Tsongkapa and was the head of the Gelugpa school of Buddhism and was very successful during his tenure. He is a strong practitioner of both Sutra and Tantra of Je Tsongkapa’s tradition and a master of all Buddhist knowledge. He holds steadfast to his protector Dorje Shugden very strongly. So we can see even the highest throneholders who are masters of Sutra and Tantra also practices Dorje Shugden knowing the benefits.
Beng Kooi and Martin brought photo albums of Kechara Forest Retreat/Kechara and updates on Kechara and our works. His Holiness was very pleased to listen and offered some gifts back.
This is a beautiful picture and the great blessings bestowed on us from His Holiness Gaden Trisur Rinpoche Jetsun Lungrik Namgyal.
Humbly,
Tsem Rinpoche
Great message every Tibetan especially must read!
