I did something right

I do not remember nor recall what I did or who I was in my previous lives. I was told I am a reincarnation of the abbot of Gaden Shartse Monastery. When I look at myself, I can’t confirm this. But one thing IS FOR SURE, I MUST HAVE DONE SOMETHING REALLY REALLY REALLY CORRECT, because in this life I was able to sit at the feet of the Glorious Kyabje Zong Rinpoche who is no other than Heruka Himself.
I was able to serve this great Being I refer to as His Holiness and recieved numerous practices and commitments from. Reflecting upon this I know I did something right and I rejoice. How can I come across something so incredible such as HH Kyabje Zong Rinpoche if I did not create the causes for it. Causes resemble results. Results resemble causes.
I love you Kyabje Zong Rinpoche and I keep my forehead touching your feet.

I was 18 years old when this was taken back in 1983 in Los Angeles, California. Here I am in this photo with my most precious root guru, His Holiness Kyabje Zong Rinpoche. He has profoundly changed my life for the better forever. Not a day goes by I don’t think about him, love him, miss him and yearn for his presence and teachings.
I meditate on him in my heart every single day. He was everything that a high Tibetan lama is said to be and more. From the moment I heard his name before meeting him from a friend who had met him already, faith instantly arose in me. Instantly faith arose in me. I did 100 prostrations to his picture everyday until I met him. I wanted to make a spiritual karmic connection with him so that when I met him, I can receive many teachings and that is why I made the prostrations.
No other spiritual teacher although all of them were great has this sort of meteoric impact on me. It’s unexplainable. 30 plus years down the line, my faith, respect and trust in Kyabje Zong Rinpoche is unshakable. I will always follow and practice what he has taught me and given me. I will never abandon my teacher or any practice he has given me no matter what obstacles come my way.
No matter if my life is threatened, or I am disliked or segregated for following his instructions, I will never abandon any of his teachings. No other teacher will ever have me change my practice I have received from Kyabje Zong Rinpoche. May I meet Kyabje Zong Rinpoche in all my future lives too and come under his care. I forever bow to him and place the crown of my unworthy head to his feet. I will follow, meditate, trust and believe in my guru always.

我永远不会背弃我的上师，或是背弃他赐予我的任何修行，不管我眼前出现什么阻难。即使我因为遵从他的指示而面对生命威胁，或遭受厌弃或排挤，我仍然不会背弃他的任何一个教诲。没有任何一位上师能够动摇嘉杰宋仁波切赐予我的修行。祈愿我生生世世都能遇见嘉杰宋仁波切并得到他的引导。我永世顶礼于嘉杰宋仁波切足下。我将永远遵从上师的教诲，忆念他，信任他，相信他。

Venerable Lama Yeshe’s Cremation

Melodies of the Ensa Ear-Whispered Chod Lineage
At the request of Venerable Geshe Tsultim Gyeltsen in 1983 at Thubten Dhargye Ling in Los Angeles, USA, Kyabje Zong Rinpoche recited and taught the Ensa Ear-Whispered Chod practice from memory. These melodies are chanted according to prayers known as: Cutting through Self-grasping; Dedicating the Illusory Body as Ganachakra; and the Ganachakra Offering according to Chod practice. Zong Rinpoche chose to present the melodies of certain verses of these prayers and remarked that there may come a time when Chod melodies are taught according to this recording.

Rinpoche’s advice….. “Never abandon your spiritual teacher no matter how many inner obstacles you need to overcome.” This message paint a thousand words and powerful scenario. Rinpoche is very devoted to his root guru, H.H. Zong Rinpoche. As such Rinpoche has made a right choice . For me I did something right too having met Rinpoche and my life since then changed for the better . I have learned from nothing to something from Rinpoche’s blog. A lot more to go and improve.

Lama Yeshe was a very devoted student of His Holiness Kyabje Zong Rinpoche. Lama Yeshe very much loved and respected Kyabje Zong Rinpoche and was the first lama to invite Kyabje Zong Rinpoche to the west. Kyabje Zong Rinpoche gave vast amount of empowerments, oral transmissions, teachings and sogtae of Dorje Shugden to many of Lama Yeshe’s senior students. Towards the end of Lama Yeshe’s fruitful life, he was in the hospital and physically shutting down. Kyabje Zong Rinpoche was giving teachings in Switzerland and was requested to fly in which Kyabje Zong Rinpoche most graciously did. Here in this picture is Kyabje Zong Rinpoche doing special prayers for his student Lama Yeshe. Lama Yeshe was already partially paralyzed, but true to a meditation master, his mind was extremely clear and bright. You can see Lama Yeshe leaning towards Kyabje Zong Rinpoche in deep respect and devotion. Lama Yeshe practiced all the lineages, yidams, protectors such as Dorje Shugden given to him till the end of his life. He never gave up on any of his practices as he has great devotion to Kyabje Zong Rinpoche and his other lamas. Lama Yeshe’s samaya with Kyabje Zong Rinpoche was so pure, intact and perfect till the end. A great inspiration.~Tsem Rinpoche

Both erudite beings of Buddha family. Homage to them. May we understand and practice your teachings well.
It is true, every result arisen from action whether good or bad. We create the causes to receive the result either bad or good. It is our virtuous action that leads to the meeting and guidance of the perfect teacher.
Zong Rinpoche exudes so much grace and control. When I come across the pictures of many of the high lamas there is this feeling of them having full control of their lives and existence this is what I feel anyways.
I truly believe that I am lucky, I must have made prayers, I must have had a little merits.
How could I, the child of parents whose origin is a tiny polynesian island in the middle of the ocean, who migrated to a predominantly christian country New Zealand end up working closely with a High Tibetan Lama with a Lineage that stems all the way back to Buddha Shakyamuni.
I do meditate on the fact that there was no connection to Buddhism at all in my upbringing and now I am working in Dharma, doing Dharma work with Rinpoche and others. No other job comes close, nor as satisfying even thought the rewards are not financial.
I am going to echo what everyone else is saying, because it is something i really believe. I met Tsem Rinpoche when I was 29, not early but not too late in life. And since that day about 4 years ago, I have had the opportunity to sit at Rinpoche’s feet, serve him, assist him, pass his messages, cook for him, learn from him… This is the best thing that has happened to me in my life, and it cannot be just a lucky chance that gave me this opportunity. I must really have done something good last life (lives) to be able to do this now.
Dear Tsem Rinpoche,
exactly I think and feel the same way of H. E. Kyabje Zong Rinpoche: “… one thing IS FOR SURE, I MUST HAVE DONE SOMETHING REALLY REALLY REALLY CORRECT, because in this life I was able to sit at the feet of the Glorious Kyabje Zong Rinpoche who is no other than Heruka Himself.”
Thank you Rinpoche for keeping the memory of this superior spiritual master alive. And I wish many people will have the opportunity to meet with the present Kyabje Rinpoche!
I must have done something right in one of my past lives for what I am today. This is the Karma that I am getting to be able to meet Rinpoche who is my Guru and who has help me a lot in the early years physically, Spiritually and Health. I can walk now if it is not for Rinpoche blessings and guidance that has enable me to do Dharma activities. Rinpoche has always told me that I would be in a wheelchair. I am now doing things independently through Rinpoche’s training which I feel sometimes I thought I cannot handle. And today I am commenting on his Blog which I had feared I cannot fulfill. Thank you Rinpoche for your care and concern.
We must all have done something very correct to, to be able to sit at Tsem Rinpoche’s feet, receive teachings directly from Rinpoche, even read this blog. I wish I could go back and see my previous life and give myself a pat on the head for that ONE little tiny thing I did right to be able to make it back here.
This is something to be grateful for every single day and all the more reason to continue practising so we can continue to generate the merit to stay connected (in this and every future life) and more importantly, to repay the kindness of our spiritual teacher.

I do not dare phantom what or who I was in my past lives, I can only know who I am and what I have done in this life. Understanding karma and how actions affect karma, I can say that my karma brought me to be my mother’s daughter and it is through my mother that I met my Guru, Rinpoche.
Rinpoche once told me my Dharma is my mother and my mother says my Dharma is my Guru. Between them I have found my Dharma and whatever it may be, I only know that I must have done something right and must continue to have the motivation to serve Dharma i.e. serve my Guru and my mother.
How wonderful it would be for us to be there at KWPC and listen to Rinpoche’s teachings within KWPC’s walls, a dream made to come alive. How wonderful if we are able one day to look at pictures of ourselves sitting at the feet of Tsem Rinpoche, and think “we must have done something right”.
Wouldn’t that be a great end to a chapter and a great heading for the story of the next chapter to be told.
I love this blog post a lot! To me, it speaks of hope, inspiration and the achievement of our highest dreams.
Though I have not done much in the last 40 odd years of my life, but I must have somehow accumulated enough merits to meet with the Guru and the Dharma in this life.
To be frank, such thoughts would not have surfaced in my mind before. Because I did not think that such things were a big deal. But after studying and understanding Karma a little more, I now know that to meet with the Guru and Dharma is not such an easy thing to come by.
I understand the value of this now. Hence, I will continue to work and build on my great fortune to have met with Rinpoche and learn the Dharma in this lifetime.
May every lifetime become better and stronger in Dharma. May each lifetime be blessed by being close to the Guru, the source of our very Enlightenment.
