Lineage

This is something I was just thinking of and I wanted to share. His Holiness Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche was said to be a fully attained great lama. He was one of the greatest teachers of his time. He has achieved one-ness with his Yidam Heruka Chakrasamvara. There was many indications of this. To even keep a picture of His Holiness Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche would benefit oneself with blessings. Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen told us that when Pabongka Rinpoche used to give Heruka initiations in Tibet, he invited the deities of the Heruka mandala to enter the students and bless them as per the procedure of the initiation. When he did that, students would tremble because the blessings were so strong and they can feel the deities enter them! They were really blessed. It was by the power of Pabongka Rinpoche’s meditative powers he could do that. Pabongka Rinpoche was a master of Sutra and Tantra and all tantric practices. His specialty was Heruka and Vajra Yogini. People from far and near sought out Pabongka Rinpoche especially for these practices. He was also famous for his Lam Rim and mind training teachings which he himself mastered. Many students were awed in great faith after receiving initiation from Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche. Many saw Pabongka Rinpoche manifest a third physical eye during Heruka initiations also. A great being indeed.

Tsem Rinpoche

His Holiness Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche. He was a large lama and not very tall but when he gave teachings, he would gather thousands of disciples and his voice was booming. In Lhasa, in front of many students, Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche reached out and stroked a stone Heruka statue and immediately nectar poured forth from the statue’s mouth. It was gathered and everyone around was able to partake of the nectar as a blessing.

Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen together with His Holiness the Dalai Lama

I lived with Geshe La for 8 years in Los Angeles back in the 80’s before I went to Gaden Monastery in India. Geshe La had Thubten Dhargye Ling Dharma centre in Los Angeles back then and I was fortunate enough to find this centre and move in with Geshe La. Geshe la was very kind to me and I had the great chance to learn and live with him and serve him for 8 years. I received many teachings from Geshe La and Geshe La would tell us wonderful stories about Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche. Geshe La himself was very devoted to Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche, Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche, Kyabje Zong Rinpoche and His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He had great faith in these high beings and instilled it in me also.

I will never forget the kindness Geshe la bestowed upon me during that time and I met him when I was 16 years old. I only left Geshe La with his blessings when I went to India in 1987 to become a monk. Geshe La was very happy with me.

Most Venerable Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen and myself in North India. We were attending talks by His Holiness the Dalai Lama which were requested and sponsored by Geshe La himself. Geshe la had a centre called Thubten Dhargye Ling in Los Angeles and I lived there with Geshe La for 8 lucky years. He bestowed many teachings to his fortunate students. Geshe La encouraged us to practice the mind training teachings (Lojong), Lam Rim and Guru Yoga of Je Tsongkapa. He encouraged us to do Tsongkapa’s meditation and mantra always. Geshe La always told us stories about Pabongka Rinpoche and spoke so very highly of this great master. I was very fortunate to be in his presence and serve him. I miss Geshe La very much and have thought about those wonderful 8 years with him over and over in my mind. I love Geshe La very much.

Heruka0

This is the highest Yoga tantric Buddha called Heruka Chakrasamvara. This is the deity that Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche became one with in meditation. And when he gave Heruka initiations many miraculous signs would appear to hundreds. When Pabongka Rinpoche touched Heruka statues they would come to life, breathe and emit nectar from the mouth, Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen told us. Many people witnessed many miracles performed by this perfect teacher Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche.

When you condense the Heruka Chakrasamvara practice and meditations, it will become Vajra Yogini. Vajra Yogini’s practice is a shortened but very effective form of Heruka Chakrasamvara.

This painting of Vajra Yogini was given to Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen by His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche. Geshe La always kept this painting on his shrine in his bedroom. He allowed me to photograph this painting…. I am sharing here as it is very blessed. This photo of Vajra Yogini belonged to Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche and Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen. Double blessing for all of you to see and download. (You can scroll to the bottom and click on the link to download this holy picture)

Click here to read more about Vajra Yogini.

To see, hear, and be associated with Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche will leave an imprint of enlightenment in our minds as Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche is one with Heruka Buddha. This is a beautiful photo of Pabongka Rinpoche. Everyone should download a picture of this great lama and read more about him. I have his biography here, please read this biography carefully. It will inspire and bless you.

This is a rare picture of Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche wearing the ‘dress’ or ‘clothes’ of Heruka Buddha

This is the current perfect incarnation of His Holiness Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche. I’ve had the fortune to meet Rinpoche and make offerings on many occasions. I always feel very in awe and moved to be in his presence. Pabongka Rinpoche sent me an audio message which I keep on my phone and listen to again and again.

His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche was a great scholar, mahasiddha, yogi and master of all masters. He was the personal tutor and guru to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama for 30 years. Trijang Rinpoche was a heart disciple and very close student of Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche.

Pabongka Rinpoche produced students like Trijang Rinpoche’s caliber. Both guru and student in this case are Buddhas. Trijang Rinpoche followed Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche’s teachings and lineage very closely and perfectly.

His Holiness Kyabje Ling Rinpoche was a very close disciple of Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche also. Kyabje Ling Rinpoche was the Throne Holder (Gaden Tripa) of the Gelug School of Buddhism and also a great master and mahasiddha in his own right. Kyabje Ling Rinpoche showed us that by following the teachings of Je Tsongkapa which was like refined gold, one can gain high attainments and full enlightenment. He was the other tutor of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama along with Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche.

Left to right: His Holiness Kyabje Ling Rinpoche, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche. H.H. the Dalai Lama had two main tutors and they were both students of Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche. Amazing. Both Tutors and the Dalai Lama are three incredible living Buddhas.

Kyabje Ling Rinpoche and Trijang Rinpoche were the root teachers (tutors) to H.H. the Dalai Lama for over 30 years. Many of the teachings, practices, empowerments and commentaries that H.H. the Dalai Lama shares with so many fortunate beings around the world today comes from Kyabje Ling and Trijang Rinpoche. Kyabje Ling and Trijang Rinpoche obtained these teachings from His Holiness Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche.

Within the Gelugpa Lineage, it is impossible we are not using a writing, commentary, meditational text (sadhana) or instruction from His Holiness Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche and Trijang Rinpoche. In the major tantric practices within Gelugpa lineage such as Heruka, Yamantaka, Vajra Yogini and Guhyasamaja, Kyabje Pabongka and Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche are within the lineage lamas. When we do these tantric practices, within the liturgy recited daily, the names of these lamas are invoked upon for blessings. All Gelug monks, nuns and practitioners will engage in these practices in one way or another. Therefore daily they will recite the names of Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche and Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche invoking their lineal blessings. Without the lineage and root guru blessings, one will not be successful in one’s tantric practice according to Vajradhara.

All of the tantric lineages we have within the Gelug school must have come through Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche and Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche. There is no one in the generation above me in the Gelug monasteries such as Drepung, Gaden and Sera who has not received teachings, commentaries and empowerments from Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche. Many of my generation also have. All the senior Gelugpa teachers in the various countries throughout the world are all disciples of Trijang Rinpoche and indirectly Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche. Even His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama is a student of Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche.

So it is important if we are within the Gelugpa lineage that we respect Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche, Kyabje Ling Rinpoche, Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche from the very depths of our hearts. All their teaching and practices we must respect and hold sacred. It is very important. We must never criticize these great beings or we are in danger of cutting off the blessings of our meditational practices. Then we will just be reciting words without blessings. For example, how can someone be in Gaden, Sera and Drepung Monasteries only think negatively of Tsongkapa? Similarily, how can we do the practice of higher tantra when we have to invoke upon the lineage gurus and then we criticize them also?

Every monk and teacher from Sera, Drepung and Gaden will have a direct or indirect connection to these great lineage lamas. If we view these lineage lamas with faults then we cannot gain attainments. If we view them as enlightened beings, then we will receive blessings from them as enlightened beings. During meditation we invoke upon them as enlightened beings as required according to tantra and when we talk about them in casual conversation we find fault in them and speak ill of them – that is hypocrisy. We should not do this to our own lamas and teachers either. Don’t always look for fault. We can find fault where there is no fault and create unnecessary obstacles in our minds.

When we speak of these lamas, we must have great respect and deep appreciation for their kindness and see them as enlightened as they are. Also the massive corpus of teachings they have left us on sutra and tantra have very potent energies that can bless us and bring us to enlightenment when we practice these teachings. We don’t have to listen to what others say about our lamas. After all we don’t pay attention to what others say about our spouses, children, friends, house, car and our preferences. So why listen to others about our lamas and lineage lamas? Don’t have a light ear and one day, we love our lamas and the next day, due to rumors, we abandon our lamas, lineage and lineage lamas. Never listen to criticism about our own lamas, lineage and lineage lamas as we are in the kaliyuga (degenerate times) and people are overwhelmed with negative karma, desire, hatred and jealousy. Even if the perfect Buddha appears to them, they will find fault. Don’t listen to samsaric beings who criticize holy beings who are out of samsara or at least who bestow on us teachings to get us out of samsara. Be grateful to your lama and lineage lamas. Without them, you would not have dharma.

His Holiness Kyabje Zong Rinpoche was the direct disciple of His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche. Kyabje Zong Rinpoche was awarded the highest Geshe degree by His Holiness the 13th Dalai Lama in Tibet.

Zong Rinpoche was a tantric adept and master of the highest order, often showing miraculous powers, clairvoyance and bringing rain to drought areas. Zong Rinpoche was sought after for his incredible mystical powers as well as his mastery of sutra and tantra. His divinations by dice foretold the future perfectly. Zong Rinpoche was very close to Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche throughout his whole life.

Kyabje Zong Rinpoche is my root guru and master. My lineage and practice all stem from this illustrious master. I am indebted to Zong Rinpoche always and I will uphold his lineage always till my death.

I met Zong Rinpoche when Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen invited Zong Rinpoche to Los Angeles, and Zong Rinpoche stayed with us for six months at Thubten Dhargye Ling centre in Los Angeles!! It was a magical time. I was the cook and servant for Zong Rinpoche and Geshe La during that time! Lucky, lucky, lucky I was. I served so many Buddhas.

I recite Zong Rinpoche’s name mantra daily without ever a break. For me Zong Rinpoche is the perfect embodiment of Buddha’s teachings. He is my root teacher and I am loyal to him till the end.

His Holiness Kyabje Zong Rinpoche and myself in 1983 in Los Angeles. I was his assistant and cook for six months, the whole period of time Kyabje Zong Rinpoche stayed in Los Angeles. He gave many precious teachings, transmissions and empowerments. We were so fortunate. Kyabje Zong Rinpoche stayed in Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen’s centre in Los Angeles at that time. Of course I was staying at the center also and Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen selected me to be the cook and personal attendant of Kyabje Zong Rinpoche. I was and still am very grateful for that. Geshe La was very kind to allow me to serve Kyabje Zong Rinpoche. Till this day I cannot forget that magical and precious time with Zong Rinpoche and Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen.

This is myself holding the perfect incarnation of His Holiness Kyabje Zong Rinpoche. Perfect masters always return. The fact that Zong Rinpoche reincarnated back perfectly shows his practice in his previous life was perfect and without fault. Now he will be a Geshe soon and is already giving teachings. I am so blessed to meet my teacher again. If we keep pure guru samaya, we will meet our teachers again and again, life after life, we are taught.

His Holiness Kyabje Zong Rinpoche’s incarnation in this picture is already grown up and nearing completion of his studies. He mastered the teachings very well and His Holiness the Dalai Lama was very pleased.

I was making offerings to him here in Gaden Monastery. We touched foreheads is the traditional greeting between monks. But he touched my forehead with his due to his humility and giving great blessings to me. Because my forehead should be at his feet.

If we learnt from peerless teachers, and benefitted from the teachings. If we disparage them, it is like spitting in the incoming wind. Especially teachers that have studied, passed their exams, debated and also recognised by the monasteries. Then all the teachers and monasteries that recognised this teacher is put into disrepute then.

Thank you Rinpoche for explainig our lineage. I like what Rinpoche said,

“We don’t have to listen to what others say about our lamas. After all we don’t pay attention to what others say about our spouses, children, friends, house, car and our preferences. So why listen to others about our lamas and lineage lamas?”

Just like I cannot be telling people I am a Buddhist but at the same time complaining that Buddha is not good. It does not make sense unless I am koo koo.

I am very fortunate to be one of Rinpoche’s students within this lineage. So blessed and so meritorious. May I have the merits to follow Rinpoche until the end.

Many thanks to Rinpoche for sharing with us those tremendous articles and beautiful photos of all illustrious masters. Most exciting was his revealation of H.H. Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche’s performance of his Heruka’s initiation, the great oneness Yidams Blessing ceremony. Kyabje Pabongka would invite the dieties of the Heruka Mandala to enter the students as per the procedure of the ceremony initiation. It was said that the students would start trembling inspiringly as the dieties started entering their bodies to bless them! It was revealed that Kyabje Pabongka even can make nectar pour forth from the stone statues’ mouth by just stoking it, and everyone would partake in the tasting and sharing of the nectar as a blessing. How wonderfully marvellous and inspiring to be able to witness such a miraculous act of a great master of the illustrious Master. Om mni padme hung.

I always love Rinpoche’s sharing of the greatness of these special Gurus. It humbles and amazes me to learn of such highly enlightened beings, who return life after life to teach and guide us out of our sufferings. This article reflect so strongly on Rinpoche’s love and devotion to his Gurus, as well as, Rinpoche’s strong resemblence to their greatness. In actuality, i would consider Rinpoche the greatest as he is the one who connected me with dharma thru the blessing of his teachings. Thank you very much Rinpoche for this article and for being my Guru. May you remain with us for very, very, very long time.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing and expounding all the lineage guru. It’s very important to know about our lineage guru and its authenticity (traceable back to Buddha Shakyamuni) in order to develop strong faith and devotion upon our Guru because Guru is the essence of all spiritual attainment. I’m very fortunate and lucky to have Rinpoche as my Guru. May all the great lineage guru continue to turn the Dharma wheel for benefit of all sentient beings.

I remembered that when I first join Kechara the senior students will introduce and explain on the Lineage guru of Kechara. I don’t really understand at that time as I’m not familiar with the people they mentioned and also the monastic system of their achievement and their rank. As I learn more from reading and listen from the Senior student and Tsem Rinpoche, I start to have better understanding and having a Lineage is very important because it shows the authenticity of the teaching pass down by Lord Buddha. The Buddha has found the method to be enlightened and hence his teaching has been passing down from one student to another and this teaching has a great blessing from the unbroken lineage.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this post. I’m very proud of our authentic lineage from H.E Tsem Rinpoche back to HH Kyabje Zong Rinpoche, HH Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche, HH Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche all the way back to Buddha Shakyamuni. This unbroken lineage hold the genuine and unmistaken teaching from the Buddha that taught by Rinpoche with great compassion and wisdom. Through the Lama’s devotion the lineage preserve and the teaching spread wide to all over place in the world.

Thank you again Rinpoche for your kindness to establish Kechara for holding the lineage and continue spread the Buddha’s teaching.

  14. Edwin Tan on Aug 26, 2014 at 5:06 pm

    Dear Rinpoche,

I agree with Charlie Kok that we are indeed very fortunate to have met Rinpoche, whose lineage goes all the way to our great Yidam Lord Tsongkapa from His Holiness Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche, through HH Kyabje Zong Rinpoche and HH Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche.

Rinpoche is so right to say that if we do not doubt what was said about our parents, our spouse or our children… why do we doubt our great teacher, who teaches us nothing but to escape from samsara and be enlightened?

I trust my Guru, His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche with all my heart. I have witnessed and am guided by Rinpoche always through Rinpoche’s great compassion and wisdom, and I am so fortunate to be able to meet Rinpoche and be your humble student in this life.

May I always meet Rinpoche is all my future lifetimes…

    Thank you.

Dear Rinpoche thank you for sharing with us all these high Lama pictures is very bless when we look at all these pictures. I feel all of us Kecharian are very lucky to meet our guru because the lineage us so precious and us so pure that we can learn so much about Dharma and the blessing to us us tremendous without a true lineage we cannot gain attainment we will not have realization a lot of people do not see it that way they think they can pick the Dharma through reading Dharma books I would said is down to impossible because we need a teacher to guide us to explain to us and also to plant a lot of Dharma seed in us. I truly thank you Rinpoche for all these teachings and blessing because it really help me a lot.

  16. KH Ng on Aug 26, 2014 at 3:50 pm

It is a tradition at the start of a teaching that the Guru state the source and lineage of the teachings so that the teachings imparted have authenticity in the minds of the students. It is not actually the Guru needs it but it is the students that need such confirmation.
The lineage of H.E Tsem Rinpoche as stated in this blog goes back via HH Kyabje Zong Rinpoche, HH Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche, HH Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche all the way back to Lama Tsongkhapa, Manjushri and Buddha Shakyamuni. It is hence authentic!
By stating the lineage again in this blog, I hope our Guru, H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche is kindly restarting another round of teachings. Not that Rinpoche has not taught enough. He has taught all 84000 teachings of the Buddha live many times and in this blog already. But we the students has not done justice to practice the teachings.
Hence, He is repeating the teachings due to his kindness and great compassion but really it is for the students to practice the teaching well….All The Way!

This is my hope. My I offer my practice to Rinpoche and request Rinpoche to live long. Please continue to teach!

    With folded hands!
    Your humble student!

    KH Ng.

      Hi KH,

Thank you for the kind and simple clarification. For new people like me, it is indeed beneficial to know this and to know and appreciate that this stems from the extreme kindness of our Guru.

May HE Tsem Tulku Rinpoche live long, stable health and stay to teach all of us, ignorant and limited wisdom students so that we all become enlightened

To see the image of these Enlightened Beings, to hear their names, and to be able to do the practices taught by Them is so rare and precious. Kecharians are very fortunate to receive teachings and oral transmissions from Tsem Rinpoche who received the dharma from the unbroken lineage of these great masters.

To Your Holiness Kyabje Zong Rinpoche, The work, practices and assignments you have given me are REALLY HARD AND NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO DO. I decided to let go of my attachments, silly samsaric expectations and selfish reasonings and suddenly your instructions became so much easier for me to follow through and carry out. Until the end of my life, I will carry out your instructions my precious guru. Your instructions are much better than the ‘instructions’ given to me by my parents, peers, friends, elders and many people I met along the way. I know I will not heed what they say but will follow what you say all the way. I look at your qualities and the way you lived your life and I know your advice is correct. I just let go of my attachments and it becomes easier. I love you Kyabje Zong Rinpoche. Your humble and ridiculous student, Tsem Rinpoche

Thank you Rinpoche for the sharing. The write-up helps us to have the clarity on the lineage of Dharma teaching that we are practising. Thank you all Dharma Masters for keeping the lineage pure. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing the photos, posts and wallpapers. We should download them and always look at photos so that we will be blessed and Dharma imprint in us. It is so easy but yet so beneficial. May we learn and develop strong samaya as Rinpoche does and always have the merits to learn the Dharma from Rinpoche. We wish Rinpoche long life, healthy and continue to turn the wheels of Dharma.

    Dear Rinpoche,
THANK YOU VERY MUCH for this beautiful and rare teaching on the Gelug lineage. More so on the images which we can download to get blessings. This is an invaluable lesson that we will cherish forever, and in particular Guru devotion. Thank you very much again.

    Dear Rinpoche,

Thank you for writing down our illustrious lineage masters. This reminds us that the sacred teachings come from an authentic lineage and it shows how fortunate and blessed we are to meet the teachings. The lineage masters dedicated their lives for others and continue to do so. We should all 169aspire to be like them.

We cannot disparage our own guru. Or no attainments will ever arise no matter how ‘diligent’ we are in our meditations. We can recite billions of mantras, but if we disparage our guru, then no sign of achievements will be obtained according to Ashvagosha in 50 Verses of Guru Devotion. If others disparage one’s guru, one is to stay firm. They also create heavy negative karma equal to destroying the dharma. Because when they disparage, they destroy the practice of many weak minded persons who had faith in their guru. Also by disparaging, we slow down the work of a true guru. The work could have benefitted many more beings. The best is to be silent if we are practitioners. People who give up their guru and go to another guru will never gain attainments also according to Pandit Ashvagosha.~Tsem Rinpoche

The lineage of Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche, Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche, Kyabje Zong Rinpoche, Tsem Tulku Rinpoche. In Kechara we should be very very proud of our authentic lineage, something which deserves much more mention, publicity and awareness! The teachings we have received from His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche have been brought forward from generations, traceable back to even Buddha Shakyamuni.I thank my lucky stars for having met such a great teacher as Tsem Rinpoche! May Rinpoche live long in great health to turn the wheel of Dharma in order for this lineage to continue to benefit all sentient beings !

Thank you Rinpoche for these tremendously beautiful write-up and photos of the illustrious masters. Indeed although the Buddha passed on The Truth Teachings, it is the living illustrious masters such as HE Tsem Tulku Rinpoche, that a student must pay utmost reverence. I read once that once Naropa manifested the mandala of Heruka and asked his disciple Marpa who he should prostrate first. Marpa prostrated to the mandala of Heruka first. Naropa said that was a mistake as He, Naropa, was the One who manifested it. As a consequence, Naropa predicted the lineage would not pass through the veins of Marpa’s family. The message being, one’s devotion to one’s Guru must be strong for one’s dharma to grow, for the blessings of the deities to be with one. And one should Never disparage one’s Guru. Thank you for being my/our family’s Guru.

    Dear Rinpoche,

Thank you very much for sharing this with us. It is really great to meet the great Masters life after life. It is like one in a million, and it is like Gold treasures one trampled upon. It is plenty of good merits and karma for one to meet Great Masters. I always visualise the lineage gurus when making my offerings and prostrations. and that is the one thing I know.

It is important to respect the lineae gurus because without the lineage guru, I would not have my guru. As for what others say about my guru is not important because only you know your teacher. HE is the one to guide us to enlightenment not our friends and/or our parents can guide us to buddhahood. Even our friends/parents cannot be with us at the time of death and guide us through to Bardo. If our friends talk bad about our Gurus then that person is not a virtuous friend then we have to be careful and educate that person. Afterall, I hate idle talking as it eats up my time and cannot contribute to any merits. Thank you Rinpoche._/|\_

A very good overview on our lineage masters, Rinpoche has put up this nice summary to benefit us. It is very important to know about our lineage to start our spiritual journey and to understand why did all these masters dedicate their lives to the Buddhadharma to benefit many. Thank you Rinpoche for your time.

Wat Rong Khun better known as the White Temple, is a Buddhist temple in Chiang Rai province, Thailand. The gold symbolizes how people focus on worldly desires and money. The white building represents the idea to make merit and to focus on the mind. It is owned by a succesful Thai businessman who opened it to visitors in 1997. Awesome….This temple stands out through the white colour and use of pieces of glass that sparkle in the sun. The white colour signifies the purity of Buddha while the glass symbolizes Buddha’s wisdom. Located 3 hour drive from Chiang Mai built to honour and pay tribute to sacred Buddhist figures. Over time, temples grew in prominence and is one of the famous temples to visit in Thailand. I have visited years back its simple stunning temple which truly love the design and architecture .

Sak Yant, a traditional Thai tattooing practice, involves sacred geometrical and animal designs. Its often accompanied by Pali phrases, and is believed to offer power, protection, charisma, and other benefits to the wearer. Sak Yant tattoos are deeply rooted in Buddhist and spiritual beliefs, with each design and symbol carrying specific meanings and purported powers. Many designs are believed to provide protection against evil spirits, misfortune, and danger. Sak Yant tattoos are traditionally applied by monks or masters using a needle and ink, and the process is often accompanied by chants and blessings. I personally have not seen one yet . Sound interesting.

Jojo Struys is a travel and wellness personality, accredited yoga instructor, speaker and author. She visited Bangsar of Kechara outlet for a feature with Star Property. With her visit hopefully more people will get to know more of our Kechara . She had made a video with and Pastor David Lai all about Buddhist Arts. She openly admitted interested in Buddhist art . Buddhist art pieces have given her home a contemporary edge. Art was important to Buddhist religious life. It was not only part of ritual and worship but also served to transmit religious ideas, and artistic styles between cultures. Do agree with her statement ,…..if you want to change your life, change the way you think, because everything begins with you.”

n their theoretical model, rudeness has this impact on our ability to think because it engenders negative sadness, anger. Researchers have found that common negative behaviours can spread easily and have significant consequences. The best way to avoid rude people is to meet their acts of rudeness with kindness. Exposure to neurotoxins in society is not new. Children today are raised in an environment that is much different from those days. Nowadays they are exposed to behaviours, profane language, hostilities and stress from which we adults, raised a generation ago. Studies have shown that children exposed to serious psychological trauma during childhood are at risk of suffering increased psychiatric disorders. Interesting read.

Revisit this blog again . Reading comments in this blog Rich people have substantial assets and income, providing a sense of security and freedom from financial worries. Owning high-end cars, designer clothing and everything they want with their money. Rich people often have more time for leisure, hobbies, and travel, allowing them to pursue interests and experiences. They may live in large, luxurious homes and have or apartments, often in desirable locations and having personalized services. The fundamental difference in mindset between the rich and the poor is, the rich have understood a very simple principle money makes money. Rich people see money as an opportunity, while poor people see it as something to be earned. Poor people work hard for their money. It is the heart that makes a man rich. He is rich according to what he is, not according to what he has. Not he who has much is rich, but he who gives much. The primary difference between rich people and poor people is how they handle their wealth. My thought been rich in this world it is not what we take up, but what we give up, that makes us rich.

Found this old post …disturbing. Having a name especially a Bar linked to Buddha to be disrespectful towards Buddhism. After much controversy the owner had it removed. The Buddha Bar located in Sabah by a young owner which opened without much thought had many people complaining. Later was forced to have its controversial name changed to ‘Peacock Garden’ and had apologised for the controversial name. As a devout Buddhist, the name ‘Buddha Bar’ which serves alcohol, is disrespectful to the revered Buddha.

Siberia, considered the heartland of shamanism inhabited by many different ethnic groups, and many of its peoples observe shamanistic. Many of the indigenous communities reclaiming their traditional spiritual and healing practices . Interesting. Siberian shamanism is often called Tengerism, involves various rituals, including drumming, chanting, trance states, and offerings to nature spirits and ancestors. This religious practice has deep roots in Siberia and Central Asia in recent years with roots in the Turkic and Mongolic cultures. Many who have been live in a remote part of Russia, have preserved their shamanic traditions due to their isolation. Many customs of Tengrism are still been practiced where they emphasizes a deep respect for nature and its various spirits, including those of the earth, water, and mountains. They do believe in the continued existence of souls and the importance of honouring their ancestors.
Thank you Rinpoche sharing this ancient religion.

Everyone of us has an unforgettable different experience, a different destination and itineraries. The journey to Shar Gaden Monastery back in 2019, making offerings to the sangha , by the Kecharians hold special moments and memories. They were on behalf of His Eminence the 25th Tsem Rinpoche and Kechara in making an offering to all 650 monks of the monastery. On this fruitful trip the Kecharians had the honour to catch a glimpse of the normally-covered holy statue of Dorje Shugden . Awesome this holy statue of Dorje Shugden was handmade by HH Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche and HH Kyabje Zong Rinpoche. The team was also granted an audience with H E Domo Geshe Chocktrul Rinpoche. Having the opportunity to make offerings to the monks was indeed meritorious. Rejoice to them. Looking at those beautiful pictures paints a thousands words. Thank you Rinpoche and team for this sharing. Merely looking at it is a blessing especially the Holy Statue of Dorje Shugden.

Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly. We can’t let our failures define us. Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure. Success is never permanent, and failure is never final. Failure is another stepping stone to greatness .Sometimes just reminding ourselves of the temporality of failure enables us to forge ahead and stay focus looking forward . Failure isn’t something many of us can handle gracefully. And even though we know it’s a common human condition, figuring out how to stay motivated in the face of failure .

Finally HH Dalai Lama said we can practice Dorje Shugden. After all these years of deep frustration felt by the Tibetan people. They who lack religious freedom been denied and been exploited in all sectors of society. More than 60 years the Tibetan leadership has cause the sufferings of those in exile who had propitiate Dorje Shugden. Dalai Lama did reiterated although he recommended not worshipping Dorje Shugden as it is a personal choice and freedom. Interesting read.

Working in a private hospital before ,having witnessed many personal tragedies faced by the living and dying patients. Many of these poor people faced their death with fear, with misery and pain before departing this world. With the images of all these in my mind, on occasion feeling sad and grieve at times when those we have cared .But nonetheless we should recognise certain truths. All of us are going to leave this world at one time and leaving those we love. In the teaching of the Buddha, all of us will pass away eventually as a part in the natural process of birth, old-age and death and that we should always keep in mind the impermanence of life. Along the journey of life, we are reminded of our own inevitable ends in waiting and everything is a blip of transience and impermanent. Be responsible, good and positive for ourselves and towards others. This leads to calmness, happiness and an outlook which contributes to a calm and controlled mind at the time of death. We have to remind ourselves the importance of rebirth and taking time to prepare for their own demise before its too late.To cultivate the good karma, our good actions are an excellent way prepare for our death. Having lead a responsible and compassionate life and have no regrets when death approaches enables us to surrender without a struggle. The life that we all cherish and wish to hold on. We are doomed to the endless cycles of life and death, we should learn and practices Dharma teachings .We are given a chance in life and choice to determine our future, to determine where we will go for rebirth. Spend our time on earth wisely before its too late.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama is considered the incarnation of the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara and therefore he is an enlightened being. H H Dalai Lama has strongly discouraged the practice of Dorje Shugden worship within Tibetan Buddhism. Dorje Shugden is a prominent deity in the Gelugpa school of Tibetan Buddhism. Many highly attained Lamas have been relying on this Powerful Protector for centuries and even Dalai lama previously do propitiate Dorje Shugden . It cannot be wrong and its wrong to view it as a form of “spirit worship”. All his previous 9 reincarnations practiced with devotion, all of the Dalai Lamas teachers practiced Dorje Shugdan as well . The Tibetan community is torn over this issue and this has been the cause of much suffering and unnecessary prejudice. Dalai Lama is without doubt an enlightened being that surely cannot be tricked by a spirit. Dalai Lama did composed a praise to Dorje Shugden while at Dungkar Monastery . Interesting article , may more people read this and to understand better regarding this controversy. In 2020, the Dalai Lama made a Uturn by saying we can practice Dorje Shugden . Thats’ wonderful and relief for many practitioners.

Butön Rinchen Drup, 11th Abbot of Shalu Monastery, was a 14th-century Sakya master and Tibetan Buddhist leader. Butön Rinchen Drup a Tibetan great scholar and translator, known for systematizing the Tibetan Buddhist canon containing the Indian scriptures based on the spoken words of the Buddha. He also compiled the Tangyur collection that contains the Indian and Tibetan commentaries of these teachings. He wrote a famous text, the History of Buddhism in India and Tibet, which many Tibetan scholars utilize in their study till today. He remains to this day as one of the most important Tibetan historians and Buddhist writers in the history of Buddhism and Tibet. He was not merely a capable administrator but he is remembered to this very day as a prodigious scholar and writer and is Tibet’s most celebrated historian. After his death he strongly influenced the development of esoteric studies and psychic training in Tibet for centuries. Interesting biography of a great scholar.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
