Do you want it too?
Just some thoughts and ideas that came across my mind today and thought to share it with friends around the world… Inner peace creating outer peace in a nutshell…
Through practicing meditation, understanding the mind with studying the Lam Rim and invoking upon Je Tsongkapa’s blessings daily, you can gain inner peace eventually. This is one effective and surefire method for those who have affinity towards this method. This is not the only way, but one of the proven ways. We have to find our way. Just wanting peace, wishing for it and talking about it will not make it happen. A method is necessary. This inner peace when achieved will affect everyone around you positively and benefit them. Then if everyone achieved inner peace through the practice of their own religions or secular methods then this peace will spread and take over our planet. Whether you believe in a religion or not is fine, but for sure we all want world peace. Since we live on one planet and we are all diverse, we have to find a way to create more peace and total peace. It cannot be words only. It has to be a daily practice. We cannot help being different. It’s nature, it’s nurture, it’s genes, it’s biological, it’s biodiversity, it’s evolution. It’s all of the above. Whatever it is we are different but want the same thing. We all want happiness. We want peace. It’s only logical we work towards it starting within ourselves. We cannot keep looking for differences but similarities. This is our way to inner and then outer total planetary peace. We can work towards that. For a start respect all religions, races, cultures, environments and animals. I want world peace! I really do! (And no I am not a Ms Universe pageant contestant!! LOL) We all need it. Start today by understanding our minds, our projections, our expectations and our realities and then advance to understanding those of others around us.
Work in peace and work towards peace. Bring peace to many. Start by being kind, honest, straightforward and genuinely caring toward those around you.
Meditate on peace. Concentrate daily on peace and find ways to create it no matter what. Focus on achieving peace within your environment and for those around you.
Bring peace to others by being understanding, cultivated, exposed and genuinely having a good heart. Gently and respectfully bring knowledge and understanding to others.
Make finding peace a goal in life that you infect others with it. Our individual survival on a daily basis is dependent on it not to mention our planetary survival. Our individual daily happiness is fully dependent on it. We should have it and so should others. Let it not be just words anymore.
All religious practice, beliefs and faiths should lead one to peace for oneself and others. Respect all religions. All religions should be practiced as an instrument of bringing inner individual peace, peace to our planet and peace to all denizens both human and non-human. The age of religious superiority is over. All religions serve the same basic human goals. We must respect the fact everyone wants happiness and there are different valid spiritual methods towards this. Not one method is supreme. Even non-spiritual methods are available too. Our differences makes this planet interesting and wonderful. Our differences are only superficial because deep down inside, we are the same.
If you truly practice Lam Rim by His Holiness Pabongka Rinpoche, meditate daily and do the chanting of Tsongkapa’s daily prayers, you can find inner peace and achieve it. That is good for me and many of you. But we all have our methods and ways. My way is not the only way. But the method I engage in is time tested. You can try my way, or another way is fine. But important is to find a way and start now.
May you be blessed by Buddha Tsongkapa always!
May you all have inner peace and all be safe and protected.

Great reminders on living happily devoid of poor choices or being engulfed by projections. I think the key is as Rinpoche says, ”Start today by understanding our minds, our projections, our expectations and our realities and then advance to understanding those of others around us.” If I or we could do that, we would be onto something! Still a beneficial post.
Thanks Rinpoche for the reminder to us always…
The true Peace is come from our inner Peace, when we get our inner Peace sure the world Peace will not be far…
May we able to practice well and may the Holy Dharma spread to 10 directions hence more and more peoples may connect to Dharma to generate their inner Peace as soon possible…
Thank you. I truly believe too that wanting peace for the world starts from ourselves. starts from within. I am glad Rinpoche imparted Tsongkapa’s daily prayers to me, so I can work on this one very effective method to gain inner peace.
Thank you.
I believe we can find inner peace within ourselves through our choices.By becoming aware of what we choose, and how we live our lives
Inner peace is what I feel when I do my daily prayers.
Thank you for the blessings and this precious teaching Rinpoche.May Rinpoche be in good health always.
Dear Rinpoche, thank you for these beautiful thoughts and wise advice. Especial the part about all religions can bring us to inner peace and from that to outer-world-peace. We share the same wish. May our wishes come true.
I totally agree these amazing teaching from Rinpoche. A great teaching and reminder for all of us regardless any religion views.
It is life and it is a PEACE of life that we need to have a harmonial environment the world needs these days. Thank you Rinpoche with my folded hands.
Thank you Rinpoche for the sharing. Many of us know how to pronounce this word- “Peace”. But how many of us able to bring peace in our daily life? The answer is very rare. We are the “expert” who often know how to share the meaning of peace to those whom we know such as our friends ,colleague, dharma brothers/ sister etc. However, whenever we encounter those challenges such as certain people belief is vary from us, criticize us, most of us will tend to lost control and launch the War/Cold war toward those who show any unfavourable acts to us. Don’t be shock that certain prominent religion teachers also fail to bring peace among themselves and to the others instead they are creating the riots among the follower etc.
Hence, how can we successfully to bring peace or motivate others to practice peacefulness in their life? Other than we learn the “peace” method from books, meditation, prayers etc. We should be considerate and opened-heart to accept different people behaviour, opinions etc. Therefore we will tend to effectively bring inner and outer peace to the others.Besides that, only like that the dream of “World Peace” can be realized in future!
Thank you Rinpoche sharing. With recite and do Lama Tsongkhapa prayer daily really help me to have a peaceful day. Will keep Learn Dharma, understand it and practice daily.
Thank you Rinpoche for your precious sharing and reminder on inner peace. We are so fortunate to be able to be acquainted with Rinpoche. It is through Kechara that we first heard of the teaching in the Lamrin and omnipotent mantra of Tsongkhapa.Peace is the goal of all religion. Many of us seek it through outer means or create an false sense of temporary solace or comfort through the surrounding environment. It is inner peace we must instill in our self first in order for us to be sincere in our thoughts and action. If we truly understand and actually felt the power of inner peace .We would be able to share it and convince others more effectively.
We certainly hope that the goal of world peace would be the agenda of all world leaders without hidden agendas….
Rinpoche’s method is a proven way to achieve inner peace. Who doesn’t want inner peace? Inner peace leads to world peace. Who doesn’t want world peace? Lamrim meditations plus the daily hanting of Lama Tsongkhapa’s guru yoga and Migtsema are very effective and will bring us the results we want very fast. It is not the only method, as Rinpoche says, but it is a method that works.
Thank you Rinpoche for giving this beautiful teaching on peace. By chanting Migtsema prayers daily and doing the nine round breathing meditation can help to calm my mind very effectively. I am attending weekly Lam Rim class now and will meditate and put into practice daily, hoping that one day i can achieve my inner peace eventually.
Thank you so much for that. I think sometimes we forget that there are many different paths but the bottom line is that all humans want the same thing. We all want to be happy but we will never truly be happy until we achieve peace. Peace of mind and heart will change our lives and how we interact with others.. like the vessel overflowing with water making the ground around it wet.. so too can we spread peace by filling ourselves with it
Awesome picture, awesome flag! Rinpoche looks really good in all the pictures and the flag is so apt for today’s world. It’s true, no way we can bring peace and happiness to others when internally we are not at peace with ourselves and many has a wrong concept of what peace really means, inside. Some may even argue and say that they do not have peace because they are not having it “their” way. Whatever the reasons are, we must check within, what is it that is truly disturbing our own inner peace. Is it through a self-cherishing mind set or from a higher motivation for something beneficial for all?
Many are in depression even though the world we live in today seems so much more “nicer” or when we’ve have everything we need but still encounter depression. I guess this is “samsara” and no matter how great it all looks… it doesn’t solve the dissatisfied negative mind. One way to look at it is that it is our karma and try not to blame others but instead take some responsibility on it and to make a change. Another way to look at it, is that it is possible for us to make that change and find that peace. It probably will be hard, but one way we can get help is to chant sacred blessed prayers that will help calm the mind and find the positive strength within…and yes one great prayer that will definitely help us is Lama Tsongkhapa’s Migtsema mantra https://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/buddhas-dharma/transcript-lama-tsongkhapa-24th-july-2008.html
Rinpoche has always recommended Lama Tsongkhapa to many people because in today’s day and age, inner peace is so important to help keep those negative emotions, and thought that creates self-destructions and even war. Do try it if you haven’t found peace 🙂
Thank you Rinpoche, this post is an incredible reminder of living a peaceful life and connecting with others. This is something we all need very much, for if there is no peace there can’t be happiness.
Thank you Rinpoche for giving us a wonderful teaching about peace and its practice through Lam Rim and Lama Tsongkhapa daily prayers. By having inner peace and growing more inner peace towards outside and reaching to many people, eventually our world will become a safer place to live and a better place for spiritual practice.
Thank you for sharing this lovely information on how to achieve peace. Meditation is key for self peace and if everyone practiced compassion everyone would find their inner peace and cause world peace. I wish Rinpoche and the world for all the peace.
Achieving Peace can be characterized by conditions such as tranquility, harmony, no violence or fear, reconciliation, no cravings, no delusions, in agreement, calmness etc. These conditions can be external or internal. Inner peace precedes outer peace. If all of us have inner peace, outer peace will set in naturally.
Thank you Rinpoche for the precious teachings of Lama Tsongkapa, prayers and guidance from the Lamrin to achieve this inner peace.
Many thanks for sharing this important Dharma teaching, Rinpoche! As quoted in the teachings of the Buddha, “Avoid wrongdoing, do good and purify the Mind. This is the teaching of Buddha.” As said in Buddhism, it is believed that without inner Peace, outer peace is impossible. We all wish for World peace, but world peace will never be realised unless people first establish Peace within their Minds. Only by creating “Inner Peace”(within our mind) and helping others to do the same, then can we hope to achieve peace in the World.” As also seen quoted in the Dhammapada, “Happy indeed we live, friendly amidst the hostile. Amidst hostile men we dwell, free from Hatred.” Om mani padme hung!
Thank you, Rinpoche, for this lovely teaching on Inner Peace.
Peace, especially Inner Peace, is a favorite topic of philosophers and even poets. There is this poem by Yeats: The Lake Isle of Innisfree – where he talks about going to the Lake Isle of Innisfree to find Peace. But Yeats admits(in this poem) that ‘peace comes dropping slow’.
Here , in Dharma, and with Rinpoche’s teachings, i have found the real meaning of Peace. Not something external, but something within us, that comes from mind -transformation.So we need to study and meditate on the Lamrim to understand our mind and to subdue its turbulence that our delusions have caused. Then we pray to Lord Tsongkhapa to invoke his blessings. Even. as we recite the Migtsema, we will feel peace and calm descend on us.
Here then is the method to achieve Inner Peace.
When we have achieved inner peace through our daily practice of the above, then, we will be able to ‘spread’ this peace to all.
If we truly want peace, we would need to start with having peace in our heart and mind first. Lama Tsongkhapa’s practice and the study of Lamrim is NOT just about reading it like any other ‘book’. We need to internalize the words written in the Lamrim inside us too help us see and feel the peace we needed. The Guru Yoga of Lama Tsongkhapa’s contains the 7-limb prayers that can help us purify our minds of obscurations and accumulate merits to sustain our practice.
As we are a thread in this tapestry of the universe, we should calm our strings down so that the rest of the tapestry have a chance to settle down.
Wonderfully stated and so easy to put into practice. Even in my own tiny spot in the world I can practice this. I can also practice this on social media. Mostly I can put this into practice within my own heart. And watch the ripples touch everyone else. Thank you <3
Thanks Rinpoche to remind. Whatever peace we wanted so so much all begin by oneself that is our-self. When we see someone homeless or the unfortunate one, we try to help, to solve the environment to become better. I will definitely want a better world to live. I’m sure we may come back to experience one day after life. If everyone of us can make slightly different. I believe whole world will progress in much more harmony and become a wonderful world.
This post made my heart smile as I remembered the little blog chat I had with you about world peace. I may not qualify for Miss Universe but I really do want world peace. World peace may not happen overnight but I believe if everyone of us start with our own inner peace, slowly but surely, it can be a reality. Just like the ripples on the calm surface of a lake. All it takes is just one touch on the surface and the ripples can travel farther than one can predict or imagine. With folded hands, I wish Rinpoche and everyone all the peace and happiness.
