Fantastic Poem by Wendy Loh
Dear Wendy,
Thank you for sharing your talents and inspirations. I appreciate it very much. I want to share with the world your poem.
Tsem Rinpoche
Dear Rinpoche,
After reading the tweets this morning, I was inspired to write the following poem.
Thank you.
With folded hands,
Wendy
The Light Within
The spark of flame
Your compass of life
When the flame is dark
The compass is lost.
The spark of flame
Your Guru within
When the flame is dark
The Guru is lost.
When bleakness falls
When the demons dance
When the path is blocked
With fear in sight.
When anger calls
When the shadows prance
When the door is locked
With hate you fight.
Remember the light
That rests in you
That awakens the Guru
The beacon of truth
When the student is ready
The Guru appears
To show you greatness
And freedom is near.
But like the morning glory
That forgets to bloom
Blames the Sun for sealing the room
Yet rivers and valleys receive the ray
Can the morning glory remember her way?
~Wendy Loh

Beautiful poems , giving inspiration and words of wisdom to those who read. Came across this blog, reading the poem with interest. I love poems too. The light is our guru…..
The beacon of truth , When the student is ready, The Guru appears, To show you greatness. Well said….Wendy.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this post.
”Can the morning glory remember her way?”. Love that line. Cute poem with a good message indeed.
Who knew that Wendy was such a wonderful poet. As an aspiring poet myself, I have to look up to her 😀 She is definitely a wordsmith. Thank you, Rinpoche, for sharing this wonderful poem. The guru is always ready to ignite our flames and pull us out of samsara!

This reminds me of karmic rains, when the rain pours it blurs the path and stirred up ones mind and emotion. Just like how sometimes we are moody because of the weather. However if we have faith and always remember our kind Guru, the Karmic rains will stop and the sun will shine once again. While waiting for the rain to stop one will have to study up and always again and again have faith in one’s guru genuine kindness and follow through his guideline, else if you can find on your own way why need a guide?
May all be free of suffering and have a peaceful mind.
With folded hands,
Carmen Lin
Wow, Wendy has the talent in writing.

Wendy, keep up the good wok, using your strength in writing to benefit others.

Such a wonderful poem, thank you for sharing your talent Wendy Loh, I very much enjoyed reading it. May you find what you are looking for in your spiritual studies.
Wendy is so talented! Such a nice poem. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this wonderful yet profound poem by Wendy.
Poetry delivers a certain message with beauty and grace that prose can not deliver with such accuracy in meaning, feeling, grace and power. I do some writing as well but I am no poet. Therefore, I am a little jealous of Wendy’s talent. Well, knowing Dharma, that’s a very bad state of mind to be in and so I change that by consciously attempting to rejoice and I think I am fairly successful. I rejoice for her talent, learning and appreciation for the Dharma and the true meaning of a spiritual guide.
Dear Rinpoche,

Very beautiful and meaningful poem! Our Guru is ever ready to help and guide us out from samsara. We shouldn’t be like the morning glory that forget to bloom and blame the sun. Be appreciative of our Guru for he patiently wait for us to awaken the light that rest in us.

Can the morning glory remember her way? Yes, she can. Yes, we can too find our way to ignite the flame within us and allow our Guru- the beacon of truth -to shine forth from within. Only, we mustn’t let the dark forces of anger and hatred shroud us in complete darkness until the flame within cannot be ignited.
Wendy, the words are POWERFUL. So relevant and inspiring. You are truly gifted. One of a kind.
Very nice poem, Wendy. It really reflects how brightly the flame is lit depends on ourselves. We need to prepare ourselves to be ready for Rinpoche’s teachings n guidance to be effective. Thanks Rinpoche for sharing Wendy’s lovely poem which shows her understanding of Rinpoche’s teachings.

Wendy is an amazing poet. Thank you so much Rinpoche for sharing it. We should always remember that the light is within us and we should be the light rather than wait for it. Our guru is always waiting to guide us and whether or not we accept what the guru teaches is the determinant for our leaving of Samsara.
