A Letter from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand
Kechara Media and Publications (KMP) is one of the 12 depts of Kechara House. Ms Phng Li Kim is the Ceo and Head of KMP and a very warm loving head to this vital dept which produces all of our books, videos, and literature.
We have sent some of our books published by us to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand. She has honoured us with a letter from her private office in acknowledgement. Thank you to your Majesty. We are indebted to Her Royal Highness to bestow such an honour on us.
Her Royal Majesty is very beloved by her people. She is very simple, down to earth, works hard for her people and very loving. She is so very much respected. She shows us how royalty can be and still be respected. I wish her long life and further happiness.
Humbly,
Tsem Rinpoche
Buddhist Monk

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is a real gem. I have been in bangkok for about a month now, and I have seen her face just about everywhere. She is in the TV news almost daily, gracing some event or officiating some opening somewhere. She is also in the newspapers, and every Thai person I speak to loves her to bits. Everyone I speak to (and from my own observation) says that she is humble, hardworking, gracious, low-profile… wonderful unexpected qualities for a royal princess!
Since arriving in Bangkok, I have learned more about the princess from my Thai friends eg she doesnt select her own clothes; instead her clothes are offered to her from the public, and she will wear anything that is given.
Rinpoche loves her as well, and has mentioned many times that he would like to send her more gifts… I hope that will happen some day, perhaps even a meeting with Her Royal Highness herself and Rinpoche!
This is one of the first few steps for Kechara Media and Publications to go global, to be able to spread the glorious Dharma that was passed from Buddha Shakyamuni to Lama Tsongkhapa to Zong Rinpoche to Tsem Tulku Rinpoche and finally us to the whole world! The world needs more politicians who are like this princess who is very simple, down to earth, works hard for her people and very loving. She shows us how royalty or politicians can be and still be respected because of the good things they do. I wish that she lives for a very long time so that she can continueing to be a great role model among her country.
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was born on 2nd April 1955, the third child of Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand.
One of her favorite past times is writing articles, poetry and short stories. Proceeds from her written accounts of her overseas travels are the main source of income of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Foundation which was set up in 1979 to support needy students in schools, vocational colleges and universities. In 1997 the number of students receiving grants from the Foundation is approximately 1,500.
HRH loves Thai literature and studies literature of other countries. She enjoys playing classical Thai instruments and practising Thai classical dancing. She sometimes paints. She is also keen on sports : jogging, swimming, biking and trekking, which gives her an opportunity to learn about plants, trees and geographical features of the areas.
In addition to her knowledge of Pali, Sanskrit and Cambodian, HRH is communicative in both English and French and has been learning Chinese, German and Latin.
Terima Kasih Rinpoche!
Sawasdee! 🙂
The Royal Thai family has long been a patron of Buddhism and especially the Sangharaja. And their last huge support of ‘The World Tipitaka Project 2009’ was a resounding success.
In a way, I was surprised to see how open this royal family is in receiving non-Theravadin Buddhist literature as they are said to belong to the conservative class of the Thai Theravada Tradition.
So much to rejoice over this official acknowledgement of the Kechara literature and may causes and conditions work out for the benefit of all!
Congratulations, KMP. Keep up with the great work of spreading the Dharma.
