Appreciation Letter from the Princess of Thailand!!!
In early November last year, Kechara Media & Publications (KMP) published my first pictorial biography, The Promise. Ms Li Kim is the head of this dept. They spent months of hard work collecting information on my childhood in Taiwan, early days in New Jersey, teenage years in Los Angeles and adulthood in India. They even tracked down and interviewed my foster family and old high school friends in the US! This beautifully designed book is a gathering of many old photos and letters pieced together…
I was not keen at all to have my life story published for the world to see… but my teachers insisted that I do it, so I did. KMP are very professional, creative and have a lot of initiative. My loyal students at our publishing house went all out to make it a success. Of course, in all Kechara work we do… they had a lot of fun during the whole process! Hehe They went to many of my old favourite haunts such as Turkey Swamp, ate at my childhood favourite diner Lino’s Pizza… and even visited Thubten Dhargye Ling, the place where I first met Zong Rinpoche.
Proud of their own work, they mailed copies of the book to 30 addresses around the world. I did not ask them to do it, they did it on their own initiative and drafted well written cover letters to enclose the book. They sent out these books to prominent people because they thought my life story was inspirational and wanted to share it with them, in the hope that someone with a strong sphere of influence will be touched.
By end of last year, we received a thank you note from the office of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand for the book. We are truly honored that the office of Her Royal Highness took time to respond to our humble gift amid their very busy schedule.
It is not the first time we have received a letter from Her Royal Highness’s office. Two years ago, KMP sent some of my books to Her Royal Highness and her private secretary replied with an acknowledgement letter as well.
Her Royal Highness is well-known around the world and loved for her enduring efforts to help people in distress and her unselfish and unconditional service to humanity. We pray for her her, support her and want her to continue her good works with great results of benefiting others.
On behalf of myself, KMP and all of Kechara Organization, we sincerely thank Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn for her thoughtful reply. We very much appreciate it! We are humbled.

I’ve heard of Princess Sirindhorn from my Thai friends, they admire her very much. Princess Sirindhorn is well known of her compassionate characters towards her nation and people, as well as her father. She is extremely intelligent too.
The act she took to reply Kechara for the book is so touching. She is so humble, caring and heart the others.
It’s amazing that the team thought of to share this book to the Thailand Royal. Thank you Li Kim and KMP for doing this and share us this wonderful story.
Well done to the publication team for the thoughtful gift to the Royal Princess. This will enable the dharma to spread to more people no matter which country, level or position there are. May dharma continue to grow and benefit more people.

HRH is really nice and kind to acknowledge the book sent to her. I really do wish that She reads it whenever she is free.
Well done Li Kim and KMP! You guys did a WONDERFUL job with the book and also the initiative to send the books all around the world. I love all the books KMP publish! Every bit of it! They dont look like some boring and dull books. When I see KMP books, I just want to instantly pick 1 up and read them!

Princess Sirindhorn is the next in line to the throne after her brother… the Thai constitution even had to alter their regulations to allow female succession, and thus she was given her title the equivalent to a princess royal.
She is an extremely intelligent person, and throughout her education years, she always came up top in the whole nation. This came in handy when she started ‘work’ for her country and thus she was named the ‘Princess of Technology’ for introducing applied science to her country.
One thing I like about Princess Sirindhorn is she take her royal duties seriously. You don’t hear her running around to have fun etc… but the news you’d hear about her is developing the country, helping charities, helping the urban poor etc… it is always about others and never about ‘herself’.
It does make me wonder if because of her Buddhist up bringing that ingrained such commendable nature in her.
In Thailand, the Princess is known as “Phra Thep”, meaning “princess angel”. She’s actually not just an ordinary princess but holds a title which is the equivalent to the title held by her brother, the Crown Prince. She’s fluent in English, Thai, French, Chinese and currently studying German and Latin. As the eldest female child, she’s eligible to the throne and will succeed it if her father passes away.
I really rejoice to know that the Princess of Thailand not only received the book, but she replied to acknowledge it. I do hope that she will be benefitted in some way, and hopefully implement some of Rinpoche’s teachings in her life. 🙂
I didn’t know that the Princess is the heir to the throne… that is very progressive. I guess they have a female Prime Minister now so a Thai Queen would be appropriate. I hope she had the chance to read through Rinpoche’s biography and be touched by Rinpoche’s perseverance and passion for the Dharma.

What a great news to know that Rinpoche’s book “The Promise” has reached Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. It’s a very good way to promote Rinpoche by sending Rinpoche’s Biography book to all the country leaders and royalty.
The second edition of The Promise is out ! The book is lighter to be carried around and the quality of printing is as good as the first print.
Many more will be inspired by The Promise.
Thank you, Rinpoche ,KMP and the sponsor(s) of the book.
Yes may the Thai nation be forever guarded and led by people like her and her father who have helped the people so much.
Great to know The Promise was sent to the land of Thailand, stories of inspiration of Rinpoche spread to Thailand and beyond.
Hope to have more and more KMP’s books and Rinpoche’s teachings spread all over and beyond Malaysia, to bring happiness to more.
HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhon of Thailand, a truly compassionate Phillantropic Princess for Humanity, graciously honored Kechara with an acknowledgement letter to the book, The Promise” sent to her by KMP. HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhon is famous for her phillantropic endeavours – visiting flood-proned affected provinces of Thailand and offering of medical aids and services to provinces all over Thailand, in addition to food supplies. She really is a compassionate and thoughtful Bodhisattva Princess of the the People of Thailand. Om mani padme hum.
Congratulations KMP for gaining international recognition for a job well done! Beside the Princess of Thailand, Al Gore also wrote to KMP to express their appreciation for the gift.
Yay KMP! Congratulations again!
Shinning brighter are the (more than) tousand pagodas of Bangkok by now.
May this Grace and Wisdom alleviate the suffering of miriads in all
three worlds ! now and forever ! Let us keep working to implode or dissolve our ‘self grasping’ the more we can, and rejoice
for eons.
Long live the Republic of Thailand!
That is really awesome. Congrats.
