Kechara Paradise Outlet Opens 5th Outlet! (Viva Home Mall)
Kechara Paradise (KP) under the leadership of Liaison Henry Ooi has spread its wings to Viva Home Mall. They have been looking for many many months since 2010 for the right location to open another KP outlet since 2010. This is because during their many road shows, they have come across many customers who are very interested in spiritualism who live in the Cheras side of town, which is quite far from where most of our current outlets are located. Viva Home mall was the best option as it is a shopping mall strategically located along the highway leading to Cheras. Cheras has a large dense population so Liaison Henry Ooi with his dedicated managers decided it was a good place to open up another Kechara Paradise flagship store to benefit those living in that part of town.
What is really good and different about KPVH is that it has huge space… 1,600 square feet… and because of this available space, Kechara Paradise can showcase more Tibetan style furniture and traditional hand-painted thangkas. It is amazing how big it is.
The Kechara Paradise staff are a great team. They had road shows, 4 outlets to manage, one in Penang and in the midst of all this they had to renovate KPVH and rush to move in to a new outlet. They did a fantastic job and they had their soft opening on the 15th of April. Prior to moving in I gave them instructions to prepare for a Tara and Setrap puja to bless their new premise before they officially move in. Chia, one of my old students had to literally carry Setrap all the way up because the lifts were not working as they were moving in. Wow, talk about determination to spread Dharma through the outlets!! And the next day after Setrap puja, they had our very own Kechara trusol team came to consecrate the premises.
Trusol is a sacred bathing the Buddhas ritual. “Tru” means clean, “sol” means to propitiate. In 2008, I taught a small group of 5 students this ritual. It is a safe and gentle ritual for non-initiates to learn and practiced in Gaden Shartse Monastery today.
This ritual was passed down to me in 1991 from His Eminence Kensur Jetsun Jampa Yeshe Rinpoche. He was the previous Abbot Emeritus of Gaden Shartse Monastery.
I initially taught the group of 5 with the intention of having trained people to bless the land for the future Kechara World Peace Centre (KWPC). However, it has become the norm for a trusol to be performed at every new department or Dharma house within Kechara.
Trusol rituals are powerful in blessing one’s homes, offices, land and buildings. They are also powerful in blessing temples and Buddha images too.
At KPVH, the trusol was performed twice together with a serkym offering to Setrap. Together with the core trusol group which is Jamie, James, Shin and David, there were 6 new trusol members present. The 6 new trusol members are: Fang, Susan, Dr Lanse, Gimlee, Shirley and Jace. They have been training since last Sunday in preparation for today.
The other people present at the trusol prayer were the KPVH staff, Dato’ Ruby and Bryan. It was the KPVH staff who helped set up all of the offerings, both to Setrap and the land being.
Shin lead the prayer and was the umze. She said that the new trusol members were very good and synchronized. When the prayers started, everyone felt a good energy around them and the prayers felt harmonious. They liked how the 3-feet Setrap statue was invited in from Kechara House 2. There’s a sentimental value to it, like bringing an old item to a new house.
KPVH will be like a bridge to serve and bring benefit and Dharma to many people in Cheras who are not near Kechara House. I am excited about this fact as many people on that part of town will be able to get connected to Dharma through them. Kechara Paradise’s official opening will co-incide with Viva Home’s official opening date which has not been confirmed as they are awaiting the guest of honour, the Prime Minister’s availability. However their tentative date is said to be 18th June.
Remember, Kechara started as one, small first-floor shop lot in SS2. Through the hardwork, dedication and sincerity of Kecharians… this the 5th Kechara Paradise shop that has been opened! More people will be able to benefit from this. Below are some pictures and a short video clip showcasing the beautiful Kechara Paradise at Viva Home, give them a visit when you are in Cheras…

KPVH did have a truly grand and auspicious opening, with the Trusol team performing their prayers and a Tara and Setrap puja being performed beforehand to bless the premises!
As can be seen, it is huge. The display and arrangement of all the items have also been creatively and artistically executed.
THere is Lord Setrap bestowing blessings on all from His little chapel(as He used to do from His chapel in the old KH gompa) and also Rinpoche’s own Chenrezig enthroned there for all to collect merits through pearl offerings and prayers .
Being strategically located to tap the huge Chinese population of Cheras for Dharma, through the sale of Dharma products, and also having such a great and dedicated team of KP managers and sales personnel, KHVP is all set to become a hugely successful KP outlet.
May it be the gateway for Dharma to spread and grow in the Cheras area and beyond.
Wonderful, every visitors and be blessed while shopping at VIVA Mall!
