Bryan joins Kechara full-time!!
At 26 years old, Bryan Ho is one of the youngest members of Kechara. Since a young age, he has always been enthusiastic towards Buddhism and would feel inclined towards looking at statues, Buddhist texts and studies. He has previously met a Taiwanese Lama, where the lama actually gave him some books and mantras to do. This, however, didn’t last long as at that time he was working in Singapore and had many, many distractions.
One day, he saw an advert for a Grand Setrap puja at the Chinese Assembly Hall in Kuala Lumpur. They advertised that they were giving away free pendants! Being naturally inclined towards Buddhist items he thought that it would be a great opportunity to check out the puja and to see why and how those people gave away pendants for free! Little did he know that when he stepped into the Grand Setrap Puja organized by Kechara, that his life would forever be taken on a different path..
At the event, he met Eric Choong whom he knew from the fashion world. He was really surprised that a fashion designer of his calibre was part of the Kechara Care team! This sparked an existing interest in him, and he began to attend regular pujas and did voluntary work at Kechara whenever and wherever he could.
Before meeting Kechara, Bryan lived a fast-paced life of insatiable indulgence. Graduating from a very well known Hair & Make up school in Johor Bahru called E.Vogue, he then went straight into the life of fashion and glamour working as a freelance make-up artist for numerous fashion shows, TV commercials, award shows, weddings, fashion editorials for fashion magazines, and became a frequent contributor to an online webzine.
He worked in Media Corp Singapore for two years, where he found himself working with a lot of big Singaporean celebrities such as Fann Wong, Zoe Tay, Christopher Lee, Olivia Ong and international artists like David Archuleta.
Living in this lifestyle, he felt like something was amiss. He has always been known to be a very generous and selfless person, especially when it came to finances. Friends knew that if anyone needed resources or help, he would go all the way to help regardless of whether he himself was in limited position. The more he worked in his day job, the more he realised that he wasn’t satisfied as it lacked in fulfilling two things: his thirst of dharma knowledge and his need to help others.
Being a make-up artist, he is used to working with glamourous people, in luxurious working environments. As he started actively volunteering at different activities around Kechara, there were times when he was asked to help lift heavy things in the warmest weather…amongst other things. He found himself pushing past his comfort zone, but was surprised that this spilled into his day job in a positive way! He started realising that he was gradually becoming more calm when it came to work. As he started to realise this, he began admitting that he used to be rather self-centered and wouldn’t accept any criticism. He joked that his motto was: it’s either this way or no other way!!
Bryan is an energetic, smart and very creative person. His innate creative skills in terms of art & craft has been well exercised in Kechara! He loves the arrangement of offerings, the setting up of displays, the adornment of various different pieces onto Buddha statues…the bling-bling on some!
Upon introspection, he feels that reconnecting with dharma again during the Grand Setrap puja was at the right time of his life. People in Kechara always hear him express how he has “Never realised how much happiness it brings to yourself when you serve others and the Dharma…”. With this current aspiration to grow spiritually, and to continuously be of benefit to others, Bryan finally took the plunge and joined Kechara as a full time member of staff!
He hopes that more and more young adults will see that Dharma can be career and a meaningful one. Bryan sets such a good example to people who thinks that Spiritual work is stuffy, boring or leads nowhere. Young, creative and talented people like Bryan SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT….DHARMA IS FUN, DHARMA IS FULFILLING AND DHARMA CAN BE A WONDERFUL CAREER. Welcome aboard Bryan!!! I know you will do a good job in Kechara Care Dept under Suming and the rest of the team!!!
Congratulations, Bryan! If you see this new kid around your block, remember to say hi!

At work you sign a contract to be Full-Time, in Kechara..you sign on in with the Buddha! Here, Bryan is in the Ladrang at the Main Altar room doing some prayers before starting full-time. Setting the motivation by reciting the KING OF PRAYERS is a wonderful way to affirm and make clear why you are joining dharma work. New staff all start by reciting this either at Ladrang’s Grand shrine or at KH’s Setrap Altar. Then everyday after reciting that you work with wonderful Kechara, you generate merits towards bigger and better things….wonderful.
Please support us so that we can continue to bring you more Dharma:

First of all I would like to say terrific blog!
I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you don’t
mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and
clear your mind before writing. I have had a difficult time clearing
my thoughts in getting my thoughts out there. I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually lost simply just trying to figure out
how to begin. Any recommendations or hints?
Kudos!

What a lovely awesome rainbow Dharma couple and yes Bryan has come a long long way in Kechara. He came because He likes Dharma, he liked Rinpoche’s teachings and He liked the proactive modern undiscriminating, cool, hype and fun Kechara that is imbued with spirituality!
Bryan is one crazy, funny, fun-loving boy that’s young but went all the way with Dharma and really just gave his all in serving Rinpoche and the hence others fully. He really transformed from being the person who doesn’t speak up much to a person who now talks none stop about Dharma to others! I love Bryan for this transformation and I admire how quickly his faith developed and just trust and follow Rinpoche. He is really good with protocol with monks now, and is familiarizing himself with rituals etc. He will definitely go very far 🙂
I can safely say that Bryan Ho is one of the most perfect example of what Guru devotion can do for our spiritual path. From the time this post was put up in 2010 Bryan has come a long way from being a Kechara Care personnel to become one of Rinpoche’s closest attendant and assistant. Bryan’s trust in the Guru is complete and it is by serving the Guru with total devotion that he gained much merits to progress so far in his Dharma path. Today he does so much within Kechara and is one of the key people in the Ladrang.
Despite having much more responsibilities, he continues to be a fun guy and is a living example that Dharma does not having to be nerdy or boring. Look out for him at Kechara events.
Bryan,
You been speed tracked to be part of Kechara. I do recall seeing you and Ethan as you stepped into GSDP that time Eric was on hand to speak to both of you and another friend.
Wow and now you are full time 🙂
All the best, the future is bright the future is KECHARA 🙂
Wow, it took me so long to leave a comment… why? haha.. I want to spend “quality” time reading this blog and really congratulate you!
Bryan has come a long long way since he met the dharma, everything is on high speed ever since. I have seen how he remembered each and everyone’s name (which sometimes he can’t remembered the day he’s in..hehe), and passionately talked to everyone in the center, making friends and at the same time, learned so much from people all around.
Fast forward to today which he has joined full time. He smiles so much that sometimes i feel like slapping him ( haha…kidding) but seriously, he is so happy doin Dharma!!!!! I see him happier, very hard working, very very passionate which is a direct inspiration and motivation for me!!
I am very happy for him to be able to make the ultimate beneficial decision and seeing him being so happy. I am sure he will inspire a lot of young people to join dharma as a career.
From my heart CONGRATULATIONS, Let’s do it right!
love
Ethan

With so much love and congratulations to you Bryan! Welcome to this big, mad, wonderful family and I am honoured and very happy to be able to work with you.
I remember those days in the fashion world – the photoshoots, the supposed glamour, the style, the fashion… but I must say that Dharma is the real glamour. This is the real style baby! Making people smile because they are sincerely happy far is the most beautiful kind of style there is!
I couldn’t think of anyone more perfect for KC than you – here’s wishing you every enormous success, love, happiness and attainments that will allow you dance and fly on the KC podium like a Vajrayogini dakini!
i am so glad that Bryan has found something worthwhile to do – sometimes people just can’t seem to find meaning in life, others may make all the wrong connections, connecting with non-genuine paths; some may actually meet the genuine path, yet fail to connect meaningfully. It is wonderful that Bryan has FOUND IT and STAYED on. That is truly worth rejoicing!
Bryan is one of the first few people i met at Kechara and he is truly an inspiration. He is at KSK, Kechara Care, Gift Section, Pujas, Kechara Golf, Animal Liberation, Kechara Dinner and just about every event there is which requires real heart. He is tireless in his commitment to Kechara and i must say that i have learned much just watching Bryan and Ethan as a Dharma tag team. I am happy for you Bryan and don’t ever stop being you.
Hahahaa Welcome SISTA!!
I still remember the 1st time i meet him. he want me to care about him. the 2nd time i saw him, he bring his friend, say that he need care from me!! hahahhaha
now My dear SISTA WELCOME TO OUR CARE LINE !!
Congratulation!
Bryan is such a lovely guy and well suited for Kechara Care. He’s so talented and creative in so many ways, and very kind and giving too. I remember one of the first few times we had met up as a group and when a friend called me to ask for donations for a dog in distress, Bryan was one of those who immediately agreed to give. Kechara is all about giving and seeing how we can help others, so Bryan will fit right in.
Congratulations to Bryan and welcome on board! Your life will never be the same again! 🙂
Hi! Bryan welcome aboard to Kechara Organisation and congratulations to making the right decision in joining the Spiritual path. I only met Bryan and know him better at a Setrap puja one day. Not knowing who he is and where he come from. At first I thought he has just come back from abroad by the way he was dressed with his attractive curly long hair. I went up to him and introduced myself. He said I have already met and seen you before. It was at Kh1 when Su Ming led a group of people on a Mini Tour of Kechara Organisation. Su Ming introduced me as Anila to the participants of the tour. I was not aware Bryan was also in the group. Although there is a big difference in age between us we get along very well. I like Bryan a lot with his sincere and caring attitude towards old folks.
Bryan is beautiful on the outside and inside! Always so helpful, sharing and giving. When he talks to you, he is really listening and taking an interest in you. Its not superficial. He is caring in that way.
Although he is relatively new, he has plunged into Dharma full-time. Why? Because he truly understands the benefits of Dharma – how Dharma can benefit and has benefited him and how he wants others to benefit from the Dharma too. So, it is very heart warming to see yet another person going into Dharma full-time because they care about others as much as themselves.
Dharma is really fun and exciting. How can it be boring and dull to be doing real work that makes a difference in people’s lives, every single day?!
Thank you, Bryan and welcome!
YAYYYYY I’m so happy for you! 🙂
The first time I met Bryan was when he was participating in a Dzambala puja at KH2 and I happen to be pottering about there..my first thought? ‘Hot guy’. hahaha how very samsaric!!
Despite his forward nature, Bryan’s a very down-to-earth, helpful and funny person. I didn’t realise that we’d get along so well, until once we ended up chatting till 6 am and could have gone on till lunch!! How..terrible 😛
I’m very happy that Bryan has finally found somewhere he finds where he has genuine support and love from…Kechara House. I feel that he can relate to people (esp new ones) really well…perhaps in his life he has had big ups and downs. A lot of life experience? I really don’t know, but I’ve seen him speak to both old and young people at Kechara Care and he gets along with all of them equally as well.
Coming from a 1 month old full-timer…WELCOME ABOARD!! 🙂
