Car Buddha
(By Tsem Rinpoche)
Beautiful car Buddhas done. These are made available so we can place on our dashboard to be blessed and protected when we drive. We spend so much time on the road and we have our loved ones in our car, so blessings are very important.
I had the Kechara Paradise outlets have this ready for invitation.

As cars have become one of the most significant aspects in the modern life, that’s a great idea, for all of us to invite Buddha statue in our car for protection and blessing.
As we believe that laying eyes on a Buddha statues suppose to bring peace, harmony, happiness, blessing and protection. Besides, having Buddha statue in car does not just bring positivity to the owner but it may also benefit others who travel together.
Thank you for your skillful sharing of dharma.

Wow ….Beautiful car Buddhas for our car as a protection. Have heard of many road accidents over the years. Its good to have one in our car blessing us while driving all the way . With Rinpoche ‘s compassion and caring , Rinpoche created these stunning and beautiful car Buddhas for us.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing.
In Thailand – many drivers have Buddhas on their dashboard, facing the driver & passengers, as well as maybe Buddhas on the dashboard facing outwards blessing the traffic. Lama Gangchen often recommends Marici practise before travelling – when I lived in Shanghai, I had a small Marici pic together with my public transport card in a transparent ID holder on a lanyard around my neck – blessing me when commuting & everyone else in public transport. Here’s a BEAUTIFUL Marici pic: http://www.dharmaperfect.org/showcase/marici her mantra is so simple, “Om Maritzé Mam Soha”, an initiation is unnecessary for her practise, here’s her mantra beautifully sung by Imiee Ooi: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oD0QSF2ZRis
Lama Gangchen always does Marici Buddha practice before travel https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marici_(Buddhism) you can find her mantra on youtube being sung beautifully by imiee Ooi, many beautiful pictures of her online, & when I lived in Shanghai, I had a small Marici picture together with my Metro card (also useful for all public transport, taxis, buses, light rail, underground, train) hung about my neck looking outward when commuting so other commuters could also see her picture, my wish being that she would extend her positive influence to them/bless them too
Maybe 2 Buddhas in your car? 1 on your dashboard facing/blessing the driver, and another looking outwards facing/blessing all the traffic? it is a common practice in Thailand
Buddha statue that specially design for cars? The Buddha statues are stunning and beautiful. Thank you Rinpoche for always creating all ways and method to spread dharma, to remind us the good qualities of Buddha and also to bless all the drivers on the road.

So many accidents happened everyday, some victims end in tragic death. Having a car Buddha will bless and protect the driver and passenger in the car. Thank you, Rinpoche, for your love and concern of the safety of everyone. This car Buddha is also a perfect gift for our loved one and friends.
每一部车子最好放置一个小佛像,或是察察。加持我们,也加持其他路过的人。我的车子放置的是绿度母。你的呢?
Rinpoche’s mind can be very innovative. This is the first time that I heard a Dharma Centre has created Buddhas for cars. Most people needs something to remind them of what the correct thing to do and are supposed to do in their lives. When people place Buddha statues in the home or altar. It is to remind them of the good qualities of the buddha and not necessary to be prayed to as a statue and you get yourself transformed. But its for you to contemplate and think of the qualities of the Buddha. Same with putting a car Buddha in your car. Putting a Buddha in your car helps to calm yourself if you are stress when you think about Buddha’s good qualities. On the road when driving will cause a lot of anger especially in traffic jams. With a Buddha in your car people will feel saver and protected.
The car Buddha is a fantastic idea and an even more wonderful gift for those we care for and love. Unfortunately for Malaysians, its public transportations aren’t very reliable; hence, many of us depend on our own source of transportation. On an average of 10 people in KL, an approximate of 9 drives their own car. That would mean more chances of traffic accidents, crimes and possibly death. Inviting a Buddha in to the vehicle blesses it and protect those are in it. Do walk into your nearest Kechara Paradise stores and invite one into your car. Even better, invite a few and take the opportunity to spread concern and plant the Dharma seeds in those you present the car Buddhas to.
Hey, I have bought one also 🙂 He is in my car, and he always remind me to hold Buddha’s quality ESPECIALLY when I am stuck in traffic jam. Nowadays when I am caught in a jam, I will start some chanting, and somehow the jam is not that bad anymore 🙂 Try it, may be it works for you too.
To say the least, I have cut down a lot of swearing when people cut into my lane 🙂
It’s like an “army” of Buddhas!
It’s interesting how different people’s car Buddhas are all different and reflect the driver’s personality too. Some people have more traditional Tibetan-styled tsatsas, some have more Mahayana styled tsatsas, some people have these really funky psychedelic styled Kamakura Buddhas.
Either way, it sends a clear message to the world that Dharma is as “mainstream” and “fashionable” as our cars! I’ve been quite surprised to see lately in car parks etc that many many cars actually have car buddhas and it is becoming quite a common sight to see that people hang malas, chakras, pendants or place Buddhas on the dashboard.
We should extend this to car decals (which Kechara also has, by the way), bumper stickers, sun shields for the windscreens…. Wouldn’t that be neat!
The road presents one of the most hazardous places where lives are damaged and lost. However, many of us forget this danger because we drive so much that it is almost second nature after walking. It is this “comfort” that we have on the road that exposes us to its dangers.
The Car Buddhas is such a great idea as it extends the presence of our Buddha to a new and needed place. Besides protecting the occupants in the car, the Car Buddha is a Buddha-on-the-Go. As we believe that laying eyes on a Buddha image can plant Dharma seeds and leave a blessing, having a Buddha in our cars create the opportunity to benefit many people by leaving many Dharma seeds wherever we drive to. Rinpoche is so skilful to transform an activity as simple as driving into a Dharma act.
Rinpoche’s care and kindness for us reaches everywhere.
We do spend a lot of time in our cars and with friends and family members on board.I may not be far off to say that we are more likely to hurt ourselves and others in a bad way whilst on the road then other accidents.
Rinpoche’s idea for all of us to to invite a car Buddha to place in our car for protection comes from genuine concern.
There are so many accidents happening along the highways that I have witnessed when I go to the various Study Groups in Malacca, Ipoh and Johore Bahru that I wish everyone will have a car Buddha for protection.
