Dzambala House
Yet another Dharma House has manifested. This time it is for Kechara Paradise’s hardworking staff! I have named the house Dzambala house, and it will be occupied by Junior from Sarawak, Jack from Negeri Sembilan, Jazz from Johor, Eric and Adrian from KL. They are sincere, young, dedicated, out of town boys that work very hard in our Dharma outlets! And it is very important to live together in a space where you can support, look out and care for one another.
Kechara Paradise (KP) is the 1st of the 13 departments that make up Kechara. Our first KP outlet started in 2000 and at that time I did not have many sponsors or supporters. You could say I was a young, innocent lama hehe… but I was determined to make this department work and grow because so many people could be benefited from it. It was my only department at that time; even Kechara House had not manifested yet. Kechara Paradise has since grown from one to five outlets located in different parts of Kuala Lumpur and one in Penang!
My motivation for starting Kechara Paradise was and still is… to bring good quality Dharma practice supplies to people at affordable and reasonable prices. It is also an avenue for people to get connected to the Dharma. Today it is like a mini chapel, a portal that helps people who are seeking spiritual advice. And for those who want more then just shopping and advice, KP is a bridge to our temple… Kechara House and Dharma.
The boys have been working hard to get Dzambala House ready after the long awaited light renovations were completed. This house in Petaling Jaya is located near KP SS2, one of our outlets in Kuala Lumpur. KP has been looking for a place for their dedicated staff, who work very hard, to live in. As some are from out of town and have difficulty finding transportation especially after road shows, this house was initiated by the outlet managers themselves without me prompting them. I am very happy for that.
Liaison and Director of Kechara Paradise outlets Mr. Henry Ooi is my long time Dharma student, confidante and friend. He is a very caring person and is always looking out for his team. He wanted the boys to live in a comfortable environment with their own rooms, space and yet would also be convenient for them to get around easily. Henry requested me to give this house a name so I named it Dzambala House, after the Buddha of Wealth and Prosperity. It is conveniently located near public transport, and with a lot of food stalls and shops around. It is very easy for the boys – how lucky they are!!! What a great reward from the outlets for working hard in Dharma! Plus any other staff who wish to stay in this house due to late night projects, road shows etc., are more than welcome as there is an extra guest room for them to stay in – how convenient!
Ms. Girlie Ooi, Kechara Paradise’s Administrative Manager coordinated the whole project from the light renovations and tenancy agreement to taking the boys shopping and buying furniture for the house and their rooms. The boys cleaned the house themselves and helped with the shifting of rooms. I am so happy for their initiative and I think all departments should follow this example in caring for their team members. I’ve always said it is very important and good to nurture, take care of our team so that people have a sense of belonging, are motivated and would then want to improve and do better.
I am very proud of my students when they take my advice to heart and take care of one another, because it is the people that will make the place successful and grow, not the building. I thank Liaison Henry for this wonderful initiative. Dzambala House is now another addition to our Dharma Houses, making it the 9th Dharma House.
Below are some pictures taken while they were “in action”. Enjoy.

The formation of another Dharma House called Dzambala House making it the 9th Dharma House in Kechara Organisation. This was co-ordinated and arranged by Henry Ooi and Girlie Ooi who are the personnel of KP Outlets. They have rented a comfortable house in SS2 near where KP SS2 outlet is situated. For the staff of the outlets staying there Eric, Adrian, Jazz, Jack and Junior who are from outstation will find it very convenient to go to work without having to worry about travelling inconveniences. These 5 boys are very happy to stay together and very cooperative also. Living together they can share Dharma together and at the same time work.
