Which Dept would you pick?
Dear good friends,
Here is a quick overview of the various activities I have created via our beautiful depts. See in this short 12 minute video all of our beautiful Kechara Depts. We have over 115 full time Kechara staff now who joyously participate to bring Dharma to themselves and others. I am proud of everyone!
Please take a look at the video and share with me your thoughts. What dept would you volunteer or work in and why?
Enjoy this video…Tsem Rinpoche

If i have the merits and opportunity, i would love to do dharma work full time in the comfort of my own home through social media and the internet with the best of my strength. Helping to do article research, as I’m a curious and inquisitive person…Lol. Recruitment and hiring.
improving on social media skills to help lift DS ban as soon as possible. Let more people know about Kechara,Tsem Rinpoche and Dorje Shugden practice.Bring more people closer to Dharma. Help to inspire practitioners to do social media and dharma work. Thank you Rinpoche for this article to share my big and wide dreams about my motivation._/\_

I have three department in my mind which is Kechara Paradise, Kechara House and Kechara Saraswati Art.
First of all, i love Buddha statue very much, and i think that Kechara Paradise and Kechara Saraswati Art will give me a lot of chance to see many different Buddha statue and involve in works related to them. Whereby Kechara House is the place that i visited the most since i joined as volunteer in Kechara. And i like this place
“Work” that i dream to be are found in Kechara. Kechara is a place for me to involve in dharma works besides learning dharma.
Among the 13 departments, Kechara House, 1st department i will go through. Take part in the dharma classes, puja etc. I have a chance to give and share the beautiful of dharma with the senior and new incoming. With the little knowledge i have (might be none), the involvement in the KH, i think is my need before i can give and share about Kechara to friends and whose walk into kechara. Practice make perf
Thanksssssss Rinpoche and Kechara, I’m glad to be part of it.
I would choose kechara house because I feel that this department is very important when unfamiliar people just in contact with Buddhism or kechara
in this 13 departments are often the first place they enter is kechara house
and become a volunteers here are need to learn be more patience and humility and learn more Dharma knowledge so as to for the first time people who visit
kechara door let them no more Dharma confused and just like when I first entered the threshold of kechara house
and i would to thanks all the ppl here let me feel comfortable and rejoice , so I would like to be Volunteer here in this department so also can help ppl who are first time visit kechara like me b4 all also can hv a wonderful dharma mark
deeply in my heart thank Rinpoche and all the ppl work in kechara
becouase of all of u hard work and efforts behind selfless giving then only can let kechara become today 🙂
I would still pick Kechara Paradise and Kechara Soup Kitchen because I have been working on these two departments for some time. Kechara
Paradise as a retail outlet offers diverse quality dharma products to provide dharma practitioners the necessities. It also provides a gateway for the many people who might never find their way into dharma institutions as we are able to share and explain the products as well as provide assistance to those who want to pursue their spiritual path.
As for Kechara Soup Kitchen, with this community service, I feel a kind of relieve knowing that the homeless and urban poor have food to fill their hungry stomachs. Most of the homeless are neglected in society and they feel uncared, unwanted and unloved, thus one of Kechara Soup Kitchen mission and objective is also to provide them with love and care and assist them in job placement, medical assistance and help them to re-enter society.
Rinpoche is very compassionate by creating so many departments for us to have the chance to choose which department we like to work/volunteer and helping us to collect some merits.
I would still pick Kechara Paradise! When I first volunteered at KP in Chinese Assembly Hall, I find the items on display for people to invite were different/special and there was so much to learn. I saw how KP staff took the time to explain and listen to people’s problems in order to help them. I am happy to be able to do the same now… Thank you Rinpoche and Kechara for this wonderful and beneficial chance to be part of it!
i really hope that Kechara would have a department to fulfill children wishes. For example, if a children hoping to have something, we could grant them their wish. As in we are the Santa Clause 🙂
Well, I were to work full time or on volunteer basis with Kechara, I will not choose any department. Cos I want to work in all the departments. Different departments play a different role in spreading dharma. Every department can give me learning opportunities and challenges.
It was a hard choice for me to choose what department I would work in, there are so many to choose from (and I can fit in a wide variety of departments) but if I had to choose, i would choose Saraswati Arts because I am extremely creative and I love using my creativity to help others (or do things for others).
Kechara In Motion. Because i think there is a lot of dharma can be told in movies and dvideos.
I work as accounts. I like kechara saraswati art because I wish everyone can invite the beautiful status and peace at home.
Kechara Animal Sanchuary would be my chioce to work/volunteer..as a dog trainer and lover I would love to see all humans to be educated about being a responsible dog owner. Thank you Rinpoche for creating this department.
I’d like to volunteer for KMP, since I’m good at English-language editing. Alas, I live far away from Malaysia. Oh well, perhaps I can submit a book ms one day…
Dear David,
Even though you’re far away, you can always contribute some writing/editing/proofreading/transcribing for KMP. Do email me at sharon.saw@kechara.com to discuss further. We always welcome volunteers, near and far!
Dear Rinpoche, the video and the narration by Jean Mei is impressive, it provides a clear picture about Kechara 13 departments and the function of each department.
For me, i have been volunteering in kechara for almost a year now, although i’ve not been to all the departments to volunteer, but i feel the sincerity, enthusiasm, love, and care in their own way. Personally I have become a seasoned volunteer in KC, and i love the way KC team function as one of the department in Kechara. Reason is, KC is a center where it serve as an information centre, and public relation to Kechara and Rinpoche. This is the department that had taken care of me when i first join Kechara, and the full timer in KC are dedicated in their work to take care newbies and making sure the new member are well taken care of, and also ensuring their spiritual need is fulfill.
I enjoyed the every events that KC organize, plan and execute for every Kechara House events, volunteering in the pre and post events has always been a wonderful experience for me, as there are always things to learn and contemplate from each experience. I like events alot, as it gives me a wonderful feeling and satisfaction on the face of members and visitors who came to the event, and leave with happy feeling knowing that they benefited from such events planned for their well being.
Another reason why i would choose KC as my department that i would love to work in, is it would be a great learning curve and practice for me to learn to care and being sensitive environment and people around, i am well aware my lacking of caring, and sometimes beeing overly self-absorb in myself, it would be great department for me to cultivate caring for others and destroy the ignorance in me to serve others and benefit others through Kechara. Besides, extending the caring that Rinpoche had given to me and many others, is a way to repay the kindness to care and help others in the journey to practice Dharma.
I would pick Kechara InMotion since that’s the type of work I do. In fact if they need help with anything contact me. I have long-term plans to become more involved. However, for a change it would be great to work at KSK, or Kechara Animal Sanctuary (since dogs used to scare me a little).
All the departments are very impressive. I think personally Saraswati Arts stands for me. Their work is so good. Even in the US I’m almost positive the Buddha statues and artwork are imported from Nepal. No organization that I know of which actually creates them.
Dear Rinpoche, I would very much want to work in ediv as they seem to need my current skillset the most in copywriting and IT related matters. I have been volunteering there for months now and i can get along with everyone fine and harmoniously. they are very kind and nurturing to me as well. I wouldnt mind being placed in other departments but since i will be on stipend it would be safest to be in a department that i can truly help out with and who is also nurturing at the same time.
Currently I am working in Kechara InMotion, if i have more time, i would like to join all the departments as they are so fantastic!
It’s indeed very good during some events, where all Kechara staffs will come and help. I really like the feeling of a family, and we have only one goal, to benefit beings in anyway we can.
I hope we will have more family members soon!!!
I wish i can work in kechara saraswati art department because i wish everyone can invite beautiful buddha to their home and have a beautiful shrine at home.I love insert a lot of sacred mantra into buddha statue and help the buddha make-up.
I am mostly evil, my choice is to disturb all departments, so they can value what is peace and learn what is compassion.
Dear Rinpoche, Kechara Animal Sanctuary would be my choice, because animals are vulnerable and are frequently subject to abuse and wrongful treatment in today’s world as their rights to live have been seriously marginalised in the name of modernisation.
Dearest Rinpoche,
I am inspired by Rinpoche’s way of bringing dharma practice into “work-related” environments, and was struck (in a good way) when I first heard the term, “dharma work.” I am inspired by all the KH departments because through them, I can see how dharma work can exist and manifest in various ways that supports right livelihood.
After watching the clip above, it would be a joyous chance indeed should the opportunity and conditions arise for me to work/volunteer at Kechara Lounge in Nepal and/or KWPC. As a friend from abroad, I feel a particular affinity to supporting the international-globally oriented projects of Rinpoche’s vision, connecting with those from outside of Malaysia/SE Asia and sharing with them the Kechara dharma through these international outposts (Kechara Lounge, KWPC.)
I pray that I may be able to “work” in a dharma organization in this lifetime and share the energy, effort and work left within me towards a clear dharmic purpose. I recall Rinpoche sharing once, and if I may loosely paraphrase, that if one is exhausted at the end of the day because of having done dharma work, then that exhaustion should be a cause for happiness, since it is exhaustion borne out of dharmic work. There are times when I finish a day’s/week’s worth of work and the purpose isn’t always so clear. The exhaustion is there, but the purpose-view-impact-effect isn’t always so.
How fun to be able to respond to this posting and seed the thought of offering dharma work to a dynamic and vibrant community of practice like Kechara!
Maybe one of these days, I’ll end up in SE Asia for that precise purpose!
Take good care Rinpoche! Sending you well-wishes for deep breaths and vibrant health.
Sincerely,
Jnaseh
Thank you very much for this introduction of all the departments. I was asked if I were to come in full-time which department do you want to go and what can offer to Kechara. I have a background in IT with photoshop, video editing and also doing things with my hands. I know I would not be doing something that I like because it would not be my practice. I wish to come join Kechara full-time as soon as I settle my personal stuff here in Singapore settled my loans and rental of my apartment here in Singapore so that I can have a stream of income to sustain myself which engaging in full-time Dharma work. Also I would also like to reposses my apartment in Penang either to offer it as a guest house or sell it to get an apartment near KH. I truly look forward to be able to contribute to Kechara and embark on my journey and benefit others and to be a usefull person to offer happiness to others. Thank you very much.
As for me, I would love to volunteer or work in Kechara Soup Kitchen. The reason being is because my dad passed away when I was very young. My mom have no fixed income. Is my mom friends and relatives who helped us every month. They gave money, buy rice and other household essentials for us. I would love to repay their kindness by helping others.
Dearest Rinpoche – wonderful video. If I had the opportunity – I would love to volunteer with Kachara in Motion. I’ve worked in television news in several cities in the United State over the past twenty two years. The medium is so powerful – how wonderful to use it to spread dharma. On a side note – I hope you are feeling well. _/\_
