Exciting KFR on June 27!
This is what was happening in one day in Kechara. I thought it would be interesting to share the updates and pictures. Our members are indeed very busy with all types of dharma works.
Tsem Rinpoche
*********
Dear Rinpoche, all Kecharians and friends,
Today is a happening day for Kechara Forest Retreat (KFR). Many activities are taking place on this holy land – from Dharma teachings, ritual classes, meditations, to art painting projects. Here’s the program rundown:
DUKKAR APARTMENTS
- Since 9.00 am, we have a group of 15 newbies arrived in DA to participate in the 2 Day 1 Night Inner Peace Retreat. In this wellness program, participants get to learn different meditations, expressions to art, as well as Feldenkrais method. A few kind volunteers are here to help out with the program mainly in preparing healthy vegetarian meals for the 15 participants.
- In Cabin 109, we have Ms Han, Pastor Seng Piow and Lai who have been working very hard for 4-5 days to edit the video of Dorje Shugden taking trance on 21st of June. It is a five-camera production (combining footage from a total of five video cameras into one video). This video is to be uploaded on Rinpoche’s blog and it will surely benefit and bless many.
MANJUSHRI HILL
While in Manjushri Hill, there are few activities are going on simultaneously.
- First we have a group of 14 attending weekly Dharma class facilitated by Pastor David. In the morning, the 14 attendees joined the weekly blog chat session on www.tsemrinpoche.com.
- In the afternoon, Pastor David gave teachings on Dharma Protectors. The teachings covered today are what are Dharma Protectors, what are the differences between Yidams and Dharma Protectors, Enlightened and unenlightened Dharma Protectors and so forth.
- Then we have another group of 19 staff and volunteers from different departments in Kechara are involved in the Wealth Box project. Many volunteers have started to come to KFR since 2 days ago to help to paint the small wealth vases that will be putting into the wealth box. These wealth vases are to be painted according to tradition. Even though the painting is not easy, the volunteers are still happily doing the work and do it well and they do enjoy the learning process. There will be a Yangdup puja on 17,18,19th of July to consecrate the wealth box (Yangkam).
WISDOM HALL
- A lot of preparations need to be done for the wealth box and one of them is the sticking of gold leaves on the inside of the wealth box. We have 6 volunteers sticking the gold leaves nicely onto the wealth box wall as part of the offerings.
- On the other hand, Pastor Jay Jae is leading the ritual class to a group of 9 people in the hall. With this ritual class, we will have more people playing the traditional music instruments during pujas.
AVIARY
Irene Lim has saved few birds from the bird shop in KL and with the help of KB and Pastor Shin, these birds have been put in the newly built recovery aviary for quarantine before releasing them into the big aviary. How nice to see more birds being saved. Irene has set up a Fundrazr account to raise funds for the aviary. Feed the birds with love here: https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/310GKc/ab/24tMJf
Last but not least, we would like to thank our Guru, Tsem Rinpoche for arranging foods and drinks for all the volunteers in these few days. We are thankful to Rinpoche’s endless care and kindness. It is a great pleasure to see all Kecharians, their family and friends are working together harmoniously on this holy land for so many beneficial Dharma works that will heal many people’s mind now, and in the future.
Thank you,
Karen & Abby

Wow! So much in one day! And i was there!
I had come to stay for the weekend as my exams were over, and it seems that i picked the right weekend to volunteer! So many things were done, and i am sure that it was done with perfection. I helped cook vegetarian food, it was really fun and i have learnt to admire the way CK Leong cooks!
Regarding the Inner Peace Retreat, I found that the people who came to participate in it were a lot more relaxed at the end compared to the beginning. I was there from the start till the end so i can tell. I never knew exactly what kind of activities they did, but because of the pictures above i now have an idea.
I think the Inner Peace Retreat can be extremely affective for the people in our modern time. We are so caught up in the city with work and other things that we seem to lose sight if what is really important in life. I feel that the Inner Peace Retreat makes us get that sight back. I would recommend the Inner Peace Retreat to everyone, including myself!
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing the activities at KFR with us.We are glad to know that the grounds of Kechara Forest Retreat is fully utilise for precious Dharma activities.
We are certainly amazed at the vast amount of activity conducted simultaneously with such harmony and enthusiasm. Every team seemed to have set their own goals but ultimately their sole purpose is to develop KFR in order to benefit all those in need of Dharma worldwide.
We are very fortunate to have Tsem Rinpoche setting up Kechara Forest Retreat here in Malaysia along with his generous, compassionate and enthusiastic team of loyal Kacharians.
Thank you Rinpoche and your team.Your efforts are deeply appreciated, with our hands folded.
The Green Team (Pastor Chia, Julia and I) visited Findhorn in Scotland in October 2014. Findhorn is a 52-year old community that pioneered the trend to reconnect with ourselves through nature and spiritual awakening. The spirit of Findhorn is something Rinpoche always appreciated and from this post, I can see how we are building our own version of this spiritual community here in Kechara Forest Retreat.
From meditation and saving neglected animals to dharma classes and wealth vase painting, the living in Kechara Forest Retreat is one that is wholesome and conscious.
It makes me very proud to see the growth of Kechara Forest Retreat as we transformed form a construction site into a haven where people get together to do spiritual activities. May this community grow and may Kechara Forest Retreat be a lively hub where people nurture peace, joy, kindness.
It’s so nice to see that KFR was very busy. 🙂 Working hard for the benefit of others. My deepest respects to everyone who worked hard. _/|\_
It was nice that You and Keng Boon came and participated in the Wealth Vase painting. It is a custom and tradition that has been passed on from the time of Atisha by the direct advise from Tara herself https://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/buddhas-dharma/transcript-wealth-vases.html.
Wealth Vases can help us bring forth our inner wealth to attract the resources we need for our spiritual growth and prosperity.
We are very lucky that in Malaysia we are able to receive this pure tradition directly from the lineage masters through Tsem Rinpoche.
I hope that more young people will have the good fortune to have contact with the Dharma to compliment their life journey.
Definitely on Saturday KFR was buzzing with activities.
I thank Rinpoche and all sponsors towards KFR that allowed this to happen. Having activities for people to enjoy and relax their day at this holy place.
Dharmic activities are done with so much happiness and joy in the air. May phase 2 manifest faster so that more people can benefit and join these great activities.
Hi Vinnie,
You’re right, we are extremely thankful to all the sponsors who financially contributed to the manifestation of KFR and other projects. Without them, we were not able to be even organize the above programs on this piece of holy land. I believe every single person who contributed in every aspects, be it financially or physically or moral support, they are very precious to us.
” Alone, most of you cannot do it, combine we can do it. Alone, I cannot, you alone cannot, we combine our energies to do..” Quote from Tsem Rinpoche many years ago.
We need everyone’s support in any form to create this legacy that benefit many 🙂
Karen
It was indeed a very productive and happy weekend for many of us. I was very blessed to be able to sit in Pastor David’s class on Dharma Protector. It was a lively, informative and enjoyable class for me.
Although am not a master painter like many of them, I enjoyed whatever little “basic painting” I did. I must admit it was very therapeutic. I really loved watching many lovely individuals coming together as a group to help complete this auspicious project. Ever so often there will groups of giggles and laughter from different groups while they were working and this is music to my ears.
Thank you, Rinpoche for your care and concern that we had proper meals while working on the wealth vases. Really grateful to Rinpoche and those who brought us the food and drinks.
With folded hands, I would like to thank Rinpoche for making it possible for us to be a part of the wealth box project.
Thank you Rinpoche for your kindness to provide many different type of activities and programmes for public to participate and learn dharma.
May KFR, and Gompa and all departments always happening. May all Rinpoche wishes swiftly manifest to benefit all sentient beings.
Thank you
Best regards,
Pee Bee Chong
Dear Rinpoche,
Rejoice on the dharma activities in Kechara Forest Retreat (KFR). It is so happening, every corner of KFR there are dharma activities!
KFR cater to different kind of people for them to do dharma work. Spending weekends and engage in Dharma practice, not only collect merit but we find peace and happiness while doing dharma work.
From dharma class, to painting, to learning ritual instrument, to cooking, to meditation, it is really eat , sleep, dream of dharma. We are so lucky in this world we are able to have Kechara Forest Retreat a place where Dharma florish.
Thank you Rinpoche for your love and guidance.
With folded hand,
Freon
Kechara continues into Sunday, serving and benefitting many in the Gompa at Sunwaymas.
There was the 2015 Examination Puja which included a Dharma talk by Pastor Han Nee on Buddha Manjushri, Lord of Wisdom. Many children and their parents attended this puja for blessings to excel in their academic life.
May this wonderful children also be blessed to be virtuous Buddhists.
