Kechara Blooms
Kechara Discovery (KD) seems to have no boundaries when it comes to expanding.
They have just recently moved into their new office. This place has been blessed many times over with the countless pujas that were held there since September 2007… It was only in November 2010 when Kechara House moved into the new gompa and Kechara Discovery took over… along with Kechara Blooms!
Kechara Saraswati Arts has just recently opened a division under them called Kechara Blooms. They specialize in flower arrangements, bouquets and gift baskets.
It was Paul Yap (Liaison and Head of Kechara Discovery and Kechara Saraswati Arts) who had the idea to start this division. He realized that many people loved to offer flowers to the Buddhas in the new gompa, to prepare for events with many flower decorations, and also to give flowers in general. So, he thought why not provide them here in Kechara? What a great idea!
Kechara Blooms will be arranging flowers for different events as well as for different clients both in Kechara and externally.
Do come and buy Kechara Blooms’ flowers for the Buddhas or for your loved ones… it supports Kechara Discovery and giving flowers is a nice gesture for someone you care about anyways.
Kechara Blooms will be open from Monday to Saturday at 10am to 7pm, and they will be having their official opening this Saturday (19 March 2011) at 3-5pm. Drop by and say hi… stop and smell the beautiful roses! Below are photos of some of the many creations that Kechara Blooms can produce. What do you think?

Am revisiting this post 2 years and later and boy have Kechara Blooms come a long way! Seems especially apt that I have chanced upon this post again when a few of us at the ladrang just received a little pot of flowers each today at work! (see photo here: pic.twitter.com/ufvQVFpUU3)
From just creating flower arrangements, KB has gone on to be the official florist and decorators for very high profile corporate events, with clients as big as Nestle. It’s hard to compete with the incredibly beautiful arrangements they’re now making which have put them right up there with some of the best names in the industry in KL.
Well done to all of you in KB – may your works continuously grow, bringing that wonderful offering and gift of flowers to thousands more around the country.

Yes, CONGRATS to Paul and all in Kechara Blooms and KD/KSA! Also to friends and volunteers who helped and by giving advice and contacts of suppliers especially Lily. You guys are working hard to make KH gompa altars look fresh and beautiful.

It is a delight to see the wide variety of flowers in Kechara Blooms and the creativity from Lily and her team! There was a hive of activities the past few days including today’s official opening! The team was very very busy taking care of orders until late noon. We rejoice in Kechara Bloom’s success!

the opening was splendid!! The “gift and flower boutique” @ Sunwaymas (heheh private joke between Paul and some of us) is so beautiful and I’m so amazed at how much you guys have done.
The KB people have taught themselves all the flower arrangements – no classes or anything. How creative and beautiful. I say this because I know I would never be able to do that so I have great respect for their creativity, broad thinking and that big gung ho attitude to JUST DO IT.
Paul is now heading three departments – I don’t know how he does it. Pretty amazing huh, a real hero 🙂
Respect and may KB, KD and KSA’s activities forever grow and increase to touch the lives of so many.

I recently ordered flowers from the US to Malaysia and had a very hard time locating a florist in KL and trying to explain to them what I wanted sent. What they sent was not what I had described. What I wanted was exactly like these photos!!! Now I know in the future when I need to have flowers sent to friends in KL where I’ll call!!! Congratulations 🙂

When I saw the flowers at the Gompa, I thought..WOW…they are really, really nice. I know that in the past some of the flowers were done by a professional florist who help out some time and when I saw the arrangements recently,I thought we had the help of a professional full time, until i found out Lily was behind the creations. I asked her if she had attended a course before and when she said never, I was stunned.
She is really creative and artistic and an unassuming person , with a sweet smile, lovely, just like her arrangements.

I thought it was a marvelous idea! Having thought to myself before why don’t we have our own florist as I am sure many other had the same thought as well. Hence, there will definitely be demand. It makes it so much more convenient for us around the neighbourhood. I must say the flower arrangement and the whole set up looks as professional as any florist out there. What is missing now is a stand for greeting cards and of course a whole range of greeting cards to choose from 🙂
Beautiful. It is interesting comparing the different trends and flowers between countrys, for example you don’t see the use of leafs in that size where I am from. The creative force and effort of Kechara is truly remarkable, you set an example one can only strive to follow. Congratulations to your new branch!
