Last Friday, I took a whole group of Kecharians to Giant supermarket where we shopped for goodies for their departments and Dharma houses! The event was organized by Jean Ai as Su Ming was in Singapore showing my relatives (Sara, Aunt Matza and Katee) around.
Meeting at 7pm, the Giant staff and other customers were so shocked as so many people came to shop all at once…and trust me, Kecharians don’t get together quietly!! hehe
The departments’ representatives came to shop for their department pantries.. Staff and volunteers work very hard and it’ good to have food and drinks in the kitchen on standby. Dharma house representatives also came, they shopped to fill their home kitchens.. After a long day doing dharma, it’s nice to go home to a fridge full of goodies! There were others who came too – they came to help transport the food, carry the groceries and join in the fun!! Each Liaison of the dept sent people to shop with me for their depts.
Those who came were:

After grocery shopping, we went over to Canadian Pizza for supper….we booked out the whole restaurant hehe
This will not be the last time, there will be many more shopping sprees to come!!
I like to make sure all the pantries are filled in each dept so the hardworking staff of Kechara will always have snacks during the day and sometimes at night.

Wow, awesome blog layout! How long have you
been blogging for? you make blogging look easy.
The overall look of your web site is great, let alone the content!
Having read this I believed it was extremely enlightening.
I appreciate you finding the time and effort to put this informative article
together. I once again find myself spending way too much time
both reading and commenting. But so what, it
was still worth it!
Dear Rinpoche, the outing looks very fun and I wish I was there to join Kecharians shopping, my purpose is not going there to buy stuffs my purpose was to have a great time with everyone and I also want to meet Rinpoche. Hehe! The queue looks very long. I can that the Kecharians had a pretty good time that day.
Time go fast !!! now ald 2012, you can see how “FUN” we are. Wanna join ??? Where can find a group, guru so close to us, we got everything, bless, care, fun, and a lot , a lot,a lot!
Thank you Rinpoche !! You are always thanking of the welfare of your students and friends!
Kwok Wai, next time please get some ‘food’ for KSK, we dont need that much of Lycee drinks around 😀
I have post on dharma houses on this blog..please take a look. Thanks!!!
Everyone must have a lot of fun in this shopping spree. The first photo reminds me of the TV show Supermarket Sweep where everyone waiting to start grabbing whatever they can get their hands on at a very short and limited time.
Rinpoche will go all the way to make sure his students, friends and everyone are taken care of. With all the trolleys filled full to the brim with so much food and toilet paper, its going to last a long time before the next Supermarket Sweep hehehe.
I was like @@ when i entered KC pantry the next day… later, i read this post… hehe
Thank you so much!
I usually take mum grocery shopping on the weekends, so i know it takes much effort and how tiring it can be! 😉
Everyone looked like they had fun. I wish I could go on one of the future department shopping sprees. All of the departments are all so hardworking when it comes to anything. They will make the best of what they can do. I really like all the pictures. Thank you for sharing them, Rinpoche. My favorite picture is the one of Monlam amuse with the Receipts. I thought that the picture was quite funny as Monlam was wearing the receipts like scarves. Uncle Martin seemed to be very happy with all his instant noodles!
Looks like a very FUN outing! And all trolleys are full to the brim. Such a great reward for those who have contributed so much to dharma and society. Rinpoche who is always kind and caring in taking care of his students and all living beings.
The whole shopping expedition with Rinpoche was very fun. I heard that Fang, who is new to this whole experience really enjoyed herself and wanted very much to go on more of such expeditions with Rinpoche. Shopping like this is nothing new to Rinpoche as he had for many years been spending generously like this for his friends and students.
He does this often in 7-elevens and KK marts which are all 24 hour shops that anyone can shop for bags and bags of groceries and food. He does this for the everyone in the organisation especially the Nepalese boys in KSA (Kechara Saraswati Arts) and makes sure they are well-fed and would even go and personally choose the furniture in IKEA and make sure they have TV, air-conditioning and all just so that they are comfortable and happy. That is the level of generosity and care that I have seen Rinpoche extended to everyone including myself over the years.
Out of curiosity, what are “dharma houses”?
This is really a very good team outing too! Fun for sure. Shopping for groceries in a team is wonderful.
