Kechara House in New Straits Times
I thank the media for their kind and generous support of our activities. They really do not have an easy job and at times tedious, but they work hard to bring news and updates to everyone. Again I appreciate their support very much.

Kechara House to hold pastor ordination event
Petaling Jaya: Kechara House, a Tsem Tulku Buddhist organisation, will hold the second Buddhist Pastor Ordination and Refuge ceremony on Wednesday.
The ceremony is being held in conjunction with Tsem Tulku Rinpoche’s 47th birthday at the Kechara House, Jalan PJU 1/3G, SunwayMas Commercial Centre.
A range of activities has been lined up, including video screenings, a vegetarian dinner, Kechara Kids Choir performance and prayers for Tsem Rinpoche.
The Buddhist pastor ordination ceremony was first introduced by Tsem Rinpoche to bridge the gap between monks, nuns and lay people.
Tsem Rinpoche said that even though pastorship is new to Buddhism, the vows taken by the pastors are based on the teachings of Buddha Shakyamuni.
He said he will ordain three pastors this year, and that after the ordination, the pastors will be able to conduct classes and perform special Buddhist rituals.
“As a lay person holding vows, pastors make the dharma accessible to more people by giving them guidance and sharing knowledge.
“Pastors are ordinary people who have gone the extra mile in dedicating their lives to sharing the dharma.
“They have committed themselves to pursuing spirituality and encouraging it in others,” said Tsem Rinpoche.
“I know what it’s like to have very little, and I want to share what I have with those in need.
“It is not about celebrating my birthday, but more about celebrating the spirit of giving,” said Tsem Rinpoche, who is the founder and spiritual adviser of the organisation.
He said the organisation will have a retreat in two years’ time.
Catering exclusively to Malaysians, the yet-to-be-built Kechara Forest Retreat is intended to be a spiritual camp to help purify the mind, body and soul.
The retreat will include meditation classes, as well as a tour of an organic farm to educate people about healthy eating and saving the environment.
Based in Chamang, Bentong, Pahang, the total cost of the retreat project is about RM 28 million.
The organisation will hold a fund-raising event for the project and seeks the help of the public for donations.
At the ceremony, 109 rice bags were also donated to the Padmasambhava Children Loving Association in Klang.
The association is a home for underprivileged children.
Those who wish to make donations can call Kechara House at 03-7803 3908.

Hi sharing,
KFR does not only benefit Malaysians, but other nationalities too as when it is built, people of other nations can be inspired to do the same and they can learn so much from KFR. Please dont take this the wrong way.
The article says kfr catering exclusively to malaysians? is this true? So kechara forest retreat is not open to other nationalities? Only for malaysians? Isnt this inequality treatment?
The media plays such a crucial role in society, bringing important news and information to the public. I rejoice when I new Kechara in the news but Kechara’s only “product” is the Dharma and everything else revolves around that. More news about Kechara means more people will come to learn and practice the Dharma and the more Dharma will spread. Although Kechara is not the only Dharma centre in the country but it is unique in that it offers modern people very practical means and methods to practice the Buddha’s teachings from a very high incarnate Lama. This is not easy to come by.
I hope news of the Pastorship programmes will draw more people into it. It is such a tremendous opportunity to learn how to teach the Dharma and bestow wellness into people’s lives without having to immediately take full ordination vows.
My appreciation to the capable journalist C. Premananthini and NST’s Editor for recognizing Kechara as being news worthy and to give Kechara coverage.
Rinpoche always care of others and Thanks to New Straits Times for promoting Kechara.

Wow! The article was written very well. I’d be attracted to know more if I read this.
NST is very kind and supportive. Thank you so much NST for sharing Kechara with so many people!
Do come visit us at Kechara Forest Retreat to know more.
To be able to reach out and help other organisations in need, in this case the Padmasambhava Children Loving Association, is wonderful. Rinpoche says he knew what it is like to have very little and that he must share what he have with them. We can all afford to give, regardless of how much or how little. If it can make someone’s life better or make someone’s face lit up, why not?
Rinpoche’s motivation to spread the Dharma to benefit more sentient beings receives good support and publicity from the media to help promote it. Thank you New Straits Times for your continuous support towards our Lama’s work.
Thank you to the press to cover a meritorious and charitable event. May the press sell GOOD news more than BAD news!. The role of the pastors will grow in significance with time 🙂 and this bridge will be make many more people learn the buddha dharma and have a chance at a meaningful life.
Great to know that Kechara is getting well known. Thanks to the media for their support. Thank to New Straits Times especially C. Premananthini for the well written write up and Mohd Yusni Ariffin for the well taken picture. Kechara will bring more news and updates to everyone through media
Wow it is awesome! It is great that the knows more about Kechara Forest Retreat and help to spread out the news. Let more people know about KFR 🙂
Many heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the helpful media, that Kechara’s spiritual, beneficiary as well as philantropic activities could be shared and made known to the outside world far and wide, through their kind and generous support. As to this pastor ordination event in particular, many said this is the first of its kind in a Buddhist organisation in Malaysia. Many are not awared that there exist such appointment and ordination in Buddhism, especially in Malaysia. Nevertheless, its time that such a move seems very appropiate, in not only making Dharma more accessible to more people through pastorship ordinations, but also to bridge the gap between monks, nuns and laypeople as said. As a first of it kind, introduced by Rinpoche, who said that pastors are ordinary people who have gone the extra mile in dedicating their lives to make Dharma more accessible to people. They have also committed themselves to pursuing of spirituality, sharing and encouraging it to others too, so as to benefit them as taught.
It is very nice of them to promote for us about KFR,everything they write in there is so honest and open.
Press Media can really help create a lot of awareness to the public, especially with such well written article.
Thank you for the press support 🙂
Thank you to News Straits Times, especially to C. Premananthini and Mohd Yusni Ariffin, for for their support to help convey the good work and message of Tsem Rinpoche. Let us work together to help others in need.
Thank you, C. Premananthini for the well written write up and Mohd Yusni Ariffin for the well taken picture.
Thank you, to the editors and New Straits Times.
That was a nice day to witness and be part of such auspicious event! The press were very happy that day for receiving so many gifts from Rinpoche on top of being able to spend one full hour listening to Rinpoche. Rinpoche not just shared about KFR, but also lots of dharma with them. Actually Rinpoche experienced black out that day prior to attending the press conference. It just goes to show how much Rinpoche cares about KFR and others to attend the press conference even when he’s not well. You can find out more about what happened here http://blog.tsemtulku.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/current-affairs/press-conference.html.
Even this is so called a social media ear, bu t mass media such as New Straits Times and others play their role as a bridge within public and religious groups like Kechara ; as well as a platform for us to convey our message to public. Or no, any good deed or positive message will not as effective to spread to the masses.
Thank you to New Straits Times.
Thanks to the media’s continuous support, all of us must work together to spread the good work and message of H.E. Tsem Rinpoche, in helping others who in need!
A prized gem will never be discovered if no one dig it out to the open. In many circumstances, we need the help of media to help spread news, so that we can be more alert of happenings around us – on things that are both good and bad for us.
Without reporters, it will take a much longer time for the public to get to know Tsem Tulku Rinpoche, who so kindly stay close to us in Msia to teach us dharma.
In this regards, we have to thank the media for letting more people know about Tsem Tulku Rinpoche, so that we all know where we can go to learn and practice Dharma.
How fortunate we are to have a living Buddha staying so close to us.
