Datuk May Phng presenting the Laptop to Nicholas. She wishes his dept Kechara Care to benefit many people. Hence this laptop will make work much easier.
Datuk May gives a Nicholas a hug and wishes him success in Kechara Care Dept.
Nicholas is a nice guy with his supportive wife. They are very hard working and very nice people.
Datuk May is a very caring, conscientious President. She doesn’t take her role of a large growing Buddhist Organization in name, she is hands on, concerned, very active and has many ideas.
We at Kechara House are very proud to have her as the President of our committee heading/leading it’s members to greater spiritual growth.

Datuk May has shown so much responsibility for Kechara House and so much love to all of the members. She has been very generous and her generosity is filled with wisdom, she knows exactly when to be generous and exactly what to be generous with. On top of giving with wisdom, Datuk May never expects anything in return except the hope that her generosity benefits others. Giving Nick a MacBook is truly a great gift for it helps Nick serve the dharma more efficiently.
I would also like to take this opportunity to show my gratitude to Datuk May for she has also given me a MacBook so I can learn the dharma at a faster rate. With this new laptop of mine, I am able to learn from Rinpoche’s blog and also many other websites. Thank you Datuk May!! ☺
Much Love and Respect,
Wee Liang
Nicholas Yu is a very hardworking member of Kechara Care, he was recruited into the Ladrang by Liaison Su Ming. It seems like yesterday that he took refuge with Rinpoche and now he is already a full time staff with Kechara. He has brought his entire immediate family into the Dharma. So proud of what Nicholas has achieved so far. Really warms my heart! So happy that his wife Josephine supports him all the way, I suppose this really is a family that has been touched by the Dharma. Ladrang staff and quite a huge segment of Kecharians are into Mac, so it’s a revolution to replace Window based laptops hehe. Once you go Mac, you never go back!
Being one of the many who is on the receiving end of Datuk May’s generosity and kindness; I know I am privileged and I am truly grateful. I have not had the opportunity to work under or alongside Datuk but, from word of mouth, observations and Li Kim… I have come to admire Datuk for her honesty, strong buzzing energy and sincerity. For people who may not know her well, they may be taken aback by her directness. Stern, and sometimes harsh words are not foreign from this lady. Be sure though, that there is never any malice behind the tone of voice she chooses to use. I echo Jamie’s view in saying that – a scolding from Datuk is just another expression of her kindness, because she will not stand by quietly while seeing someone not pushing themselves to their full potential, when she can see so much more in them to achieve. Thank you Datuk for your kind sponsorship, for me to continue working in Dharma under Li Kim, in KMP.
Nick… I would like to congratulate you in putting any doubts or fears aside, to give more time and effort into something you believe in. I wish you and your lovely family happiness and a blessed future in Kechara 🙂
I too have been on the receiving end of so much of Datuk May’s kindness and generosity; also Li Kim who is the CEO of KMP, the world’s best boss, friend extraordinaire, Dharma sister and drinking partner.
Datuk sticks her head out for you, whatever it may “cost”. She’s known famously among the liaisons and staff for being extremely honest and direct with people, even if it might hurt them at first. When you’ve been with her a while though, you’ll see right through the tone of her voice and right into her heart, which is brimming with love and concern. A scolding is so much an expression of her kindness because she just can’t stand seeing someone do less than their potential or doing things that just hurt themselves.
A lady like her, with the level of achievements, corporate fame and standing, experience and age does NOT have to schlep it out with young punks like us. But she does, and happily. When David and I were working on the final manuscripts of our books, she was the biggest supporter. She took my manuscript home and read it from cover to cover, sending me little texts throughout week to tell me her thoughts and how much she supported me. She lent her name to the book as one of the main endorsements that is now on the cover. A few months later, she sponsored a whole wardrobe makeover for me (and Li Kim then took me out for a big day out of shopping in our favourite mall!).
Really, there is nothing Datuk won’t do if it will help another person. Datuk uses any and everything she has to try to make a difference to someone else. That’s a sign of real success I think, because what use is it to have wealth, power and status if you keep it all to yourself?
(ps all that I’ve said of DM can also be said of Li Kim – every day I think, “Okay, when I grow up I am going to be her!)
I’m very admired in Datuk May’s generosity towards Dharma. Datuk has sponsored and contributed uncountable to Kechara in order to make Dharma grow, and its not only in term of dollar and cents its also in her actions, ideas etc..
Datuk always advice us to set a goal, plan and work to achieve it. Once we achieve the 1st goal then we will push ourself to do more and achieve more. She also adviced us to see things in bigger picture not stuck with the small situation. I have a long way to learn from Datuk and I would like to follow her steps to make Dharma flourish in Malaysia
Nicholas, a young man who success in career wih a yound family and two young daughters. Nicholas just joined in Kechara not so long time, but his enthusiasm and keens to learn Dharma made him joined in the spiritual path faster than other. I still remember his first statue that he has invited home was lama Tsongkhapa. And even how tired and how tie of his schedule but he kept find time to do his prayer daily. Congratulations to Nicholas, U have come a long way in such a short time. And thanks for Josephine for your great support to nicholas in his full time ‘dharma work’
Wow, it was so happy to see the kindness and generosity of Datuk May Phng. Datuk May has been very generous in Kechara House, she has help us a lot in fund raising, getting sponsor, taking care of everyone in Kechara, and now she’s our President of Kechara House, which will helping us to bring Kechara House to another level, where Rinpoche always wish for. Thank You Datuk May.
To Nicholas, I remember I know you through the Dzambala Retreat and Puja, you are a very nice person, and I’m happy to work with you before in few of KSK rounds, as well as in Kechara Care Event, I’m rejoice that you join Dharma full time, and I wish you all the success and may you and your family always surrounded by Buddha blessing.
Kechara Care (Known as KC below) is lead by Su Meng, follow by James Long, May Ong and Nicholas Yu.
A lot of people ask what does KC do ? KC not selling products like Kechara Paradise or give out daily supplied to homeless like Kechara Soup Kitchen. But KC cares for all, no matter when we have problem in life, or we have doubts on the Dharma path. KC bring news to others, share stories with others, and solve our problem.
Datuk May normally don’t talk much, but her love to everyone in Kechara is like a mother, she observe and help. This is that “care” we all need to learn.
When u get to know Datuk May and work with her personally, U will be amazed how such a senior lady like her is able to carry such regal, grandeur and courage in her passion for Dharma.
Her love and foresight in ensuring her Lama’s works goes out to benefit the many out there is shown here to one of the organization’s young, hardworking and passionate full time staff, Nicholas Yu. He’s proven himself to be a jewel for Kechara Care.
Kechara can provide you with more than just a career, it can provide you with spiritual achievement!
Way to go Nicholas, I’ve got a lot to learn from u bro!
Thanks to Datuk May, for always being so caring and loving.
Tonight it’s an eye opener for me in LC meeting, very impressive, very organized!
A great couple, a great family, a great man… Not content with the corporate rate race, he did what no-one at his stage in life would do. Give it all up for Dharma. What more with the blessings of a supportive wife and 2 kids.
Truly deserves it, inspiration to many!
Kia Kaha as they say back home 🙂
I am so happy and I rejoice for Nicholas as he truly deserve the Mac – for the positive way he channels his energy into Kechara – for all the hard work behind the scenes which people do not see. I am sure we all notice that Nicholas is always working with a warm smile for everyone…
A young father of two lovely girls Natasha and Nadia, his going into Dharma full time with his supportive wife Josephine behind him speaks volume on dedication and faith… people are amazed and inspired at the same time!
Thank you Datuk May for your generosity, kindness, hard work and efforts, for inspiring, encouraging and boosting everyone in Kechara …
and in this case for putting a different kind of smile on Nicholas’ face – one that is from ear to ear!
It is beautiful to see Datuk May exemplifying HE Tsem Tulku Rinpoche’s generosity. It is beautiful to see how students of Rinpoche are benefiting others. It inspires me and I think it will inspire many more people out there!
way to go DatukMAY
