Kechara Saraswati Arts Dept or KSA has many fun activities for kids of all ages to enjoy. Thanks for the update Paul which I enjoyed blogging here.
Just think we had flower arrangement class from Ashlee and they did a good job. Then there's was learning how to do beading with Mala bags by Eric Choong….nobody wanted the class to finish as they enjoyed it so much!! Then don't forget kids class for painting figurines of various animals and people by lIng. The kids loved it.
Ashlee, Eric and Ling, you did a wonderful job in KSA and I am very happy to get these updated from Paul who has taken over as Liaison of KSA. Paul is a wonderful person also just like all of you. Make KSA grow bigger to benefit more!

Kechara Saraswsati Arts or KSA have already many events drawn up and is in the programme with people participating even when they were in their old office in SS2. They had started classes for flower arrangements, making accessories like earrings etc. Now they have moved to a new shoplot in Sunway Mas. They are situated one road behind the new Gompa which will be officially opened very soon. The new KSA also have an official opening just recently with a reception for the members and also a Guru Puja done to bless the place. The latest event is rushing up the dressing and decorating the 3 statues, Setrap, Lama Tsongkapa and Vajrayogini in the new Gompa.
Kechara Saraswati Arts dept is another brainchild of Rinpoche who wishes to see Dharma accessible for all.
An area which is lagging behind in the spread of Buddhism is the fact that a lot of the activities going on in temples, dharma centres etc are not ‘ children friendly’.
As children’s mind are quicker to learn and habituate with new ideas and thoughts , Rinpoche’s vision that Dharma can be fun makes sense and meaningful.
KSA is just such a place where those with creative or artistic talent or good at crafts can find expression by painting statues, sewing and embroidery work, restoring statues, rolling mantras etc.
Such activities are fun for both kids and parent and it becomes a family affair growing together and becoming closer physically and spiritually
Me and my brother (Pavara) went to paint some cute figurines of animals. I painted a ladybird and my brother painted a schnauzer. I took 1 and a half hours to paint my ladybird. My brother took 2 hours to paint his schnauzer. The schnauzer is very very grey, it doesn’t look a single bit like mumu but still very cute. My ladybird is red with black spots and as big as my hand. My brothers’ schnauzer has white eyes and black eyeballs, grey fur and a nice smile. The food was deeeeeeeeeelicious! there were fried rice, fried noodles and brownies. thank you for organizing this activity. becky did a very good job on organizing this activity.
Thank you Rinpoche. I agree that we can each contribute in our own little ways to create the causes for KWPC to manifest. i just love flowers and from young have followed my mom to a few flower arrangement classes. I have no qualifications to teach but i do know abit of basics and with abit of creativity anything is possible.
Perhaps someone more qualified will come along later to help conduct the class; we just have to create the causes. I share your vision to have beautiful flower arrangement classes up at KWPC as one of the healing programme to help busy people de-stress.
Also we had fun with the Manjushri kids at KSA. Most kids are inclined towards art as a mean for them to express themselves.
My maid, Nurmi helped prepare & cook the lunch for everyone during MKC activity at KSA. I appreciate her very much as she is a great helper and has been with me for 6 years. Everyone enjoyed the lunch.
It is nice to see so many activities happening at KSA and Paul is definitely trying very hard to promote KSA.
