Sandwiches for Kecharian Staff!
The people in Kechara work very hard. Most people don’t see what goes behind the scenes, but most of them work till late with the sole motivation to spread the Dharma. In this degenerate age, where spirituality comes in 2nd in most people’s lives, it is nice to see that in Kechara our full-time staff place others before themselves.
Just like everyone else who has a job, they earn a living to support themselves yet the work that they do means something more e.g. writing Dharma books so that people can benefit from the texts that they read, painting statues so that others can invite a statue to bless their house, feeding the poor so that the people on the streets won’t go hungry at night etc.
We have over 100 full-time staff now, and they have all joined the Dharma not just to earn money to pay monthly bills, but they have joined to gain a purpose in life.
In the video below, the Ladrang team makes very yummy grilled ham and cheese sandwiches for our departmental staff! It’s a great video that Justin Ripley (Ladrang staff) made…and you can also see Melissa Sin running around to the different departments to deliver the delicious sandwiches. What a fun delivery girl! wow!!!!!!!the ladrang people really know how to make nice food seeing these sandwiches really make me hungry.Rinpoche is really is kind he always make sure that we are all well and even buys things we need.
Thank you for the sandwiches! I was one of the lucky people to be greeted by a HUGE tray of ‘ham’ and cheese toasties during one of those long meetings that never seem to end! Rinpoche always thinks of everyone, especially those who devote their lives to the Dharma, and demonstrate the qualities of integrity, resilience, commitment etc. Rinpoche also always likes to share what he finds to be good with others, and that period was a sandwich/toastie period hence the many trays of sandwiches making their way around kechara!
This is just one of the things Rinpoche constantly does for his students. Student’s welfare is very important to Rinpoche. Not many people get to also see what goes behind the scene of Rinpoche’s work. It is truly amazing how Rinpoche via his Ladrang look after his student consistently. It is love and care without boundaries and agenda. That makes working in KH very special unlike outside.
This is not the first time the Ladrang has made food for other departments in the organisation. Rinpoche often sends Ladrang staff out to bring snacks and drinks to other departments, and even takes them shopping in large groups to stock up their department pantries. It’s these examples of care, amongst all the other instances of care that really have an impact on people – they realise their lama is there to care for their entire well-being, physically and spiritually.
