Sneak Peek of Kechara Forest Retreat
See the great short video done by Joy who is the first time editing and uploading this video!! Thanks Joy!
Dear Friends,
As you know we are building Kechara Forest Retreat in stages. Stage one is nearly complete. You can always keep up with what is happening there by clicking here: http://retreat.kechara.com/ We do our best to update once a week along with the thousands of others things we happily do.
For now I wanted to give you a sneak peek of what is happening at a glance in Kechara Forest Retreat. So many Kecharians have been working hard to complete the first stage.
We are separated from the front of our 35 acre land to the back by a large hill. So behind the hill is private for close friends, members and students. The front side will be for the general public.
We have not started the front yet. We are working on the back part which we call Ladrang or Ladrang Area. Ladrang Area consists of:
My private residence
Dukkar Apts (facilities for staff and guests)
Wisdom Hall (Pujas, meditations, prayers, offerings, dharma shop, audience room)
Manjushri Hill (Writer’s area)
Aviary (for our rescued birds)
Organic Garden
Below see some pictures of the whole Kechara Forest Retreat Ladrang Area.

Wisdom Hall
Installing the sacred Shakyamuni Buddha in our Wisdom Hall at Kechara Forest Retreat. He is the main focus of our meditations and offerings. Buddha is the perfect enlightened Tathagata who found the highest Nirvana 2,500 years ago and taught us how to achieve the same through His 84,000 set of teachings.
We are amazed how beautiful, serene and royal our Buddha Shakyamuni appears. It shows we have good motivation in the creation of this image representing enlightenment and reminding us of our potential. Paul who is the liaison of Kechara House has created this statue and oversaw the whole process over the last 6 months. Paul has a real good eye and is very artistic. You can see how beautiful it all is. Paul really did a great job.
Spectacular side view.
Close up of the sacred face of Buddha.
This is the outside of Wisdom Hall where there is a stone image of Lord Tsongkapa where there is enough space to offer 700 candles simultaneously. We often get requests to offer candles to the Buddhas for those who are ill, experiencing obstacles, for the deceased, business success, harmony or extension of life. So we can accommodate this type of requests from all around the world. People can order candles to be offered via www.vajrasecrets.com.
Behind towards the right is my private residence with my assistants.
The infinite Lord of wisdom, light, compassion and protection, Manjunatha Tsongkapa.
Our beautiful insignia of Buddhism above our Wisdom Hall that went up today also.

Awesome! Kechara Forest Retreat is taking shape!
Dear Rinpoche,
What a nice and creative video done by the ever creative Joy!
It’s amazing to see how Kechara Forest Retreat taking shape so fast and progressing. It is really cool to show many friends from around the world our big and grand statues such as the 9 feet stone Tsongkhapa statue as well as our 13 feet copper Shakyamuni statue.
Though this may be considered small to our future statues in the Main Gompa in the front part of our land it is pretty much the biggest statues of Buddhas I have ever seen!
Hard to believe it is not in any other place other than Kechara Forest Retreat!
Nice video Joy~!
Rest Well!
Love

Wow, it sure looks like KFR is coming up real fast. I can’t wait for the official opening so that everyone can visit and learn dharma in such a lovely environment. The fact that it is in a forest makes it very peaceful and it is the ideal place for a Buddhist centre. Thank you for sharing and i wish all the best for Kechara Forest Retreat.
This fantastic and it is a wonderful place and can’t wait to see, when Kechara Forest Retreat complete done build. 🙂 It is a very nice place for meditation and calming down our mind, that so peaceful.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this post.
This is great! Kechara Forest Retreat is coming along together very well, all thanks to the very compassionate hard work of Rinpoche and Kecharians. Kechara Forest Retreat front area and back area combined is so big! I really like the entrance with the Tsongkapa Statue accommodating 700 candles, it is very beautiful. Would really love to see it when all the candles surround Tsongkapa are lit. Paul did really well with over seeing the creation and completion of the 12ft Buddha Shakyamuni, he does certainly have a very good eye for detail. Thanks for your hardwork Paul! Thank you for sharing with us a sneak peek of the wisdom hall Rinpoche.
Dear Rinpoche,
Thank you for this wonderful post! This post is a perfect summary of what Kechara Forest Retreat has as a whole.
All that we have on Kechara Forest Retreat land today are completed within a year! The progress is so fast! I still remember on October 2012, I couldn’t imagine how Kechara Forest Retreat will be in the future as there was nothing much there. And Rinpoche just asked us to work hard for it, promote about our project and visions, talk to people and we can achieve it.
Yes, today, we have achieved some very good results! And Kechara Forest Retreat becomes my home and my office! Yes, a real home, a home to stay and have my life here, an office to work for a big goal, I have almost everything in my life here: Guru, family, friends, companion, work, home and spiritual practice.
Kechara Forest Retreat is such a place that fulfills your dream and need for spiritual growth from inside out. It is not just a beautiful temple, it is a place where the Dharma is preached and practiced, a place where you can find Dharma and learn from the Guru Himself. Without me knowing, it turns up to be a place that is so close to my heart and I can’t just leave it like other places in this world.
All these are given by my kind Guru Tsem Rinpoche. I do hope all of you could get the same thing as me here. 🙂
The Buddha Shakyamuni and Tsongkhapa statues are so magnificent! The Wisdom hall looks great.. Can’t wait to visit it..
This is just the Wisdom Hall. The Dukkar apt and the rest of KFR has yet to be completed. When it is done, I am very sure it will blow our minds away!
The Wisdom Hall is so modern and chic! Who says spiritualism equates old fashioned traditions? We can still maintain the tradition with a touch of modern input.
Thank you Joy for the video, you make a great tour guide! hehe
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing!
Thank you Rinpoche for the update..this is really excited to received so many info and picture of the progress of KFR.Wishing that i can personally to visit the Shakyamuni , Tsongkhapa and all the new building soon..

I really love the new Dukkar apartments, they are filled with a lot of plants, as if we are living in a small jungle.
Thank You for sharing Rinpoche.
We are so lucky can be involve to build the Buddha Shakyamuni! I am so lucky can follow Liason head of deptment Paul Yap.
We do dharma work in Kechara. We are seldom to meet Rinpoche. Our Head of Deptment is the person always delivery the message from Rinpoche to Dharma.
Paul always say that: ” We’re hard working. But dont work like a cow! ” With Dharma & And wisdom ” our team walk until today! Our team go thru a lot difficult, we face it! We getting bigger and stronger!
Thank you Rinpoche, You’re my modern & very special kind of spiritual Guru.
Thank you Paul, You’re always give us good training & advised!
A good leader always can so us, our dream can be success! It is just in front us!
May Rinpoche & all the people doing dharma , live long & turn the dharma wheel!
May all the being meet dharma ASAP !
Thank you .
With love, Louise
Very nice! Thanks for the video, it gives people an idea of how the Wisdom Hall is… but I must say it does not give justice to the beauty of Wisdom hall for now! If you think what you see in the video is beautiful, then you will need to come to KFR and see it for yourself! A whole different experience all together.
Thank you Joy for this short and wonderful video tour of the Wisdom Hall in Kfr. Spectacular views of Lord Tsongkapa and Buddha Shakymuni, the dharma souvenir shop is neat and nice too.
The whole place looks so blessed and serene. Thank you Rinpoche for building Kechara Forest Retreat to benefit all sentient beings, may buddhadharma spread far and wide from here to the ten directions.
We are truly blessed to have Rinpoche’s blessings to build Kechara Forest Retreat to benefit others. It is the most humble place I have visited in my entire life.I love everything about Kechara Forest Retreat-from it’s green mountains, magnificent Buddha Statues, beautiful large prayer hall, wonderfully furnished cabin apartments and many, many more.
Kechara Forest Retreat is an excellent site for people seeking a gateway and the great outdoors.
Thank you Rinpoche for the lovely pictures and updates.
Very nice! Every thing is so neat and airy. Very peaceful, especially with the beautiful Buddhas there. Wish I could be there all the time.
Seeing a vision come true right in front of our eyes is a blessing but let us give thanks and dedicate the merits to Tsem Rinpoche, sponsors, dedicated staff and committed volunteers who put in hours of hard work, sweat and effort to ensure Kechara Forest Retreat actualized to benefit all.
Kechara is going places and we placed Kechara Forest Retreat on the map in the Buddhist world for all to come to learn, be educated in, spread and benefit others via dharma teachings, knowledge and practice. It is truly Kecharian and a beautiful place to be in.
Beautiful! Rejoice especially seeing the our beautiful insignia of Buddhism and the sacred Shakyamuni Buddha. When I looked at the insignia of Buddhism, I feel like I’m home in the monasteries in India & Tibet. The Buddha Shakyamuni and Lama Tsongkhapa, so serene and over looking the whole area and Malaysia. May the Dharma grow far & wide from here and benefit many people. Thank you Rinpoche for making it happen for all of us.

Dear Henry,
Exciting news about the few more construction works that is still going in KFR. Henry, you are wonderful for devoting your time and effort to bring Rinpoche’s dreams and aspirations to fruition with these construction projects. I am sure the giftroom and dining hall would be put to great use for bringing more people into the Dharma and especially those future Kecharians and friends that will make the greater KFR dream become a reality.
