A letter from the Office of the President of Taiwan
The office of the President of Taiwan, His Excellency Mr Ma Ying-jeou are so thoughtful… they sent a letter to my dear student Li Kim, CEO of Kechara Media and Publications (KMP) acknowledging the receipt of my pictorial biography book, The Promise. We sent them a copy and they are so kind to send a receipt.
In the letter below, it is written that all of the items that we have previously sent to them are reminders of our friendship with the government. The President of Taiwan consider us at Kechara as friends! Hehe
Please have a read at the short but meaningful letter written by the office of the President of Taiwan below. I have also included a few pages of my biography, The Promise… I thank the President and his office most humbly.

A poem inspired by seeing a picture of my teacher, Kyabje Zong Rinpoche…
In the sport of correct views,
all that is correct is just a view,
without permanence or substance.
As long as we hold onto views,
our sufferings are gathered
to be experienced without end.
Without the strong methods of emptiness
and compassion, bereft of merit,
we sink deeper without respite.
To arise from this samsara is but
a dreamscape on the deluded mind.
Therefore seek the guru, who confers the yidam,
hold your vows and fixate on liberation
free of new creations. Free of new experiences as
there are none.

I was walking past a second hand shop on Western Ave selling old things. They had a Japanese-style clay Buddha which was beige in colour on the floor, holding the door open. I thought the shopkeeper would collect a lot of negative karma without knowing if he kept such a holy item on the floor as a doorstop. So I went in to talk to him, but he didn’t look like he wanted to talk or that he even cared. So I asked him the price and he said US$5. I purchased it so he did not collect more negative karma. I was 17 years old and that was in 1982.
I escorted my new Buddha home and washed it lightly and wiped it. I placed it on my altar and was happy with the Buddha. I would do my meditations, prayers, sadhanas, mantras and prostrations in front of this shrine daily. When I left for India in 1987, I could not bring this Buddha along and gave it to a friend. It was a nice size and I made offerings to this Buddha for many years in Los Angeles. In front of the Buddha I placed His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s photo. I remember I was so relieved that the price was affordable. But US$5 that time was still expensive for me but worth it I thought. But I was happy to have brought the Buddha home. Tsem Rinpoche

this i a great book. congratulation for producing such good book to promote Rinpoche. it has become the book that one should have. the letter shows that KMP work is pretty much appreciated and very important. continue…
Kudos KMP and all the hardworking people who produced this wonderful and beautiful book. It’s great to know that the president of Taiwan acknowledged your efforts. With all the beautiful books that KMP produced, how can anyone not grab a copy? More people get to know Kechara and Rinpoche now due to KMP’s effort. Thank you very much. May Kechara reach out to all parts of the world!
Thank you to KMP for producing an immaculate quality of work for the masses. And also showcasing what we can achieve when we do dharma sincerely. When I was growing up I used to got to temples and such and I find the free distribution books some what tacky and not much thought are put into them. Its is certainly a breath of fresh air when KMP came into birth from Rinpoche’s idea and guidance. We have really top notch dharma books we all can be proud of. Dharma is associated with qualities of excellence of the highest why? As that is the same sort of determination and efforts required to achieve some permanent lasting results within our spiritual practise. Making something beautiful and with much care can really further us in our spiritual progress.
Bravo to KMP for producing such a wonderfully produce biography of The Promise, and being acknowledge by President of Taiwan as friend of Kechara. I believe The promise will break new ground and reaching a bigger mass of people in oversea soon. May more people be inspired by Rinpoche compassion and Dharma work.
Wonderful news!!!
The President of Taiwan acknowledges the receipt of the Promise book and even state that it’s a reminder of friendship!
Awesome!!!The book is reaching to so many level of people.

Great work to KMP team!
Another milestone by KMP for fostering friendship with the Taiwanese Govt. The KMP team, under the leadership of Li Kim, has done a great job in promoting Rinpoche to the world. Congratulations!
Hard work, good teamwork and a great leader, Phng Li Kim, in KMP brought forth wonderful inspirational works of Rinpoche to share with the whole world. Keep up the good work, KMP!
Congratulations KMP! Your good work is reaching out outside Malaysia now! Books are indeed a good and convenient tool for us to build relationship with others. I always give dharma books to the newbies who visits KHKC for the first time, and I always have them come back for the 2nd, 3rd…times to Kechara because they said the books are so inspiring and beneficial.
Keep up the good work KMP!
I do give out KMP books too, but not to the King or President of another country. I gave out books of KMP to friends and colleagues. I received good feedback from them. Rejoice to KMP on their success in spreading the dharma overseas.
Congratulation to KMP. The Promise is a world-recognized Dharma book. I feel so proud to have it. Thanks for the hardwork and effort to publish such a good book to us 🙂
Mailing out our books to people is very meaningful to me!
Spreading the Dharma out in this way is really fun. hehe.
It is good to establish a relationship with people around the world 🙂
The Promise and the letter of President Taiwan, great news for our dharma brothers and sisters who work very hard behind the scene. Now we can see the result from their hard work, even the President from Taiwan also sent a thank you letter for them. I am very proud of them.
In Chinese New Year, everyone of us went back to hometown to celebrate Chinese New Year but I believe that our heart still with Rinpoche, Kechara and Dharma. The Promise is a very good book. The content is introduced our great spiritual adviser H.E.Tsem Tulku Rinpoche. The story start from Rinpoche’s previous life, spiritual lineage and the the achievement to benefit all sentient beings until now.
Compared with Rinpoche previous incarnation and this current life, the good qualities of Rinpoche still remain and more powerful. The book have very good explanation and depict about Rinpoche’s life and his good qualities.
I remembered the reason why Rinpoche’s biography should be print out, because this is advice from one of Rinpoche’s Guru. He says Tsem Rinpoche’s life story is very attracted and interesting that will be inspired many people in their life, especially their spiritual path.
If you still new in your spiritual journey, I will recommend you get one from bookshop or Kechara outlets in Klang Valley(1-Utama, Sunway Pyramid, VIVA HOME, SS2).
“The Promise” is now available at all Kechara Paradise outlets and in major bookshops around Malaysia. This beautiful title can also be purchased online at http://vajrasecrets.com/books/english-books/the-promise-a-tsem-tulku-biography.html

Congratulations KMP! Thank you for your efforts to produce, market and make it possible for people internationally to have and cherish KMP’s books on Rinpoche’s teachings.
It is wonderful to acknowledge the great work of KMP team. May you succeed more and more with every passing moment to benefit others.
Hulk not like use of graytone in layout. Hulk once gray but now green. (There is also Red Hulk now. Anyway, bright colors.) Hulk realize that old photo of Ganden is black and white, but graytone make it look muddy. And white letters against gray background good for magazine, but not right for printed book. Hulk think you make second edition of book with more photos, fix design problems at the same time. With folded thick stubby green hands. Rawhr!
