Appreciation from Connie Bach
Today I received this very nice email from Ms. Connie Bach, via my Liaison Su Ming. It is a very sincere letter and I wanted to share it with all my students and friends.
Dear Su Ming,
How are you? I hope you are in the best of health.
Dear Su Ming, please convey my deep sincere thanks to Rinpoche for his generous and heartfelt gift of the book and DVD titled Snakes, Roosters and Pigs. Even though, I live half a world away from Rinpoche, but he always reaches out and gives me his precious Dharma teachings to remind me to keep up with my Dharma practice.
I feel so blessed to meet and receive teachings from him. Without his compassion, I would never be where I am today. My practice continues to improve immensely and my health is getting better every day. Looking back and comparing myself to a year ago, I could not believe what I have accomplished so far.
I forever remember Rinpoche’s compassion, J P Thong, Datuk May Phng, you, Wendy, Monlam, JJ and the rest of Rinpoche’s wonderful students, who went out of their way to help me. I admire so much the quality of respect, love and dedication that Rinpoche’s students have for him. A real example of Guru Devotion.
Dear Su Ming, I would like to conclude here with my best wishes, prayers for Rinpoche’s long and healthy life, and 25 copies of Snakes Roosters and Pigs as an offerring to Rinpoche. I also pray that the Buddhas continue to pour blessings on each one of Rinpoche’s students and give them a lot of happiness and best of health.
With much love and prayers,
Connie Bach
Ms Connie Bach has been the sponsor of my good friend, Ven. Kating Rinpoche for many years. Two years ago, she and Kating Rinpoche came to Malaysia to visit Kechara and to see what we are doing here.
Connie and I both have the same Guru, the late Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen from Thubten Dargye Ling centre in Los Angeles, where I used to live. She has been actively doing Dharma work, and also organising and sponsoring Dharma activities in TDL centre. When Geshe-la entered clear light, Connie was devastated. So while she was here, we had an opportunity to talk and I gave her a little bit of advice for her to do some retreats. She and Kating Rinpoche both completed the retreats in our beautiful Kechara Guest House, and I am very happy about that.
Read more about our Kechara Guest House here. It is right above Kechara House 2, and is very convenient for visitors from afar to stay here and join in our activities.
Generous Connie has been close to Kating Rinpoche since he was a young monk. Although she lives in the US with her family, they are both very caring of eachother and Kating Rinpoche refers to her as his Mom Connie. Sweet.
Recently, I have sent her some books and DVDs to help her keep up with her practice. It is the least I can do as her Guru is no longer around. I want Connie to be ok. I don’t want her to think she is alone. I offer her my friendship to make sure she is ok.
I offer her my best wishes and prayers.

A very sincere letter from Connie Bach and it shows a lot of gratitude and appreciation.
I also see that she is very serious about her practice and put a lot of effort in it although her teacher is no longer around and also not near to Tsem Rinpoche. A sincere and real practitioner.
One glance at the title SNAKES ROOSTERS ANSD PIGS will give the impression to a non Buddhist that you are talking about animals. Connie Bach is from USA and is a very close friend of Katking Rinpoche. She has received many teachings throuugh DVDS an d books from our Rinpoche and she appreciates very much. She has sent a letter of appreciation and thank to Rinpoche and Rinpoche’s students for the special gifts of booksd and DVDS of snakes roosters and pigs which has help her and remind her of her dharma practice. She has also named a few of Rinpoche’s students who has help her with their love and compassion which she says is an example of Guru Devotion.
Rinpoche is truly the “Great Cloud[mega (sanscrit?)]”that showers mega-blessings upon all, even from afar! He’s such a great inspiration – no wonder so many people are touched and inspired to dedicate their life to Dharma ministry!
When I first met Connie last year, we immediately hit off. There was something in this lady which at that time I couldn’t pin point at but she had a very pleasant energy.
When she had a private audience with Rinpoche, that was her first time she met Rinpoche with Kating Rinpoche in our old ladrang. I remembered this very vividly, JP, Datuk May, and myself had the honour to sit in for this audience. At the beginning of the audience both Rinpoche and Connie were sharing their experiences and beautiful memories of Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen. We were all so touched and most of us cried when she was relaying her memories of her late Guru and how she misses him so much.
It struck me at that time that we are so VERY lucky to have Rinpoche still around and we should always pushed ourselves to serve Rinpoche and the DHARMA with all our heart and to keep them as our priority. Cause as we heal others with dharma, we heal ourselves. Isn’t that worth it?
It was ALSO definitely not a coincidence that she met Rinpoche under these circumstances. Eventhough her Guru is not with her anymore, she has the good merits to meet Rinpoche to guide her now, And funny how karma works by just looking at the points below : –
– Rinpoche has the same guru with her
– She is a sponsor to Rinpoche’s very good friend in Gaden (Kating Rinpoche)
– And of all places, she met Rinpoche in Malaysia
I really do look forward to seeing Connie again.
Thank u
Although Connie live so far away but Kechara is always in her mind and so is she in Rinpoche’s mind.
Although I’ve not met her but I remember her name from E-Shop, Kechara’s online shopping (http://www.kechara.com/eshop/) of which she invited some items and I pack it to be sent to the USA. Rinpoche’s love and care is extraordinary I must say, for Rinpoche always ask about the welfare of others, especially when Rinpoche sense that there is something wrong with that person, mentally and physically. Although Rinpoche has so much to do, he still takes time to send gifts, call or SMS. Ever so thoughtful…
I am so terribly happy and terribly touched Rinpoche is such an enormous benefit to people everywhere.
Reading the letter from Connie strikes me to reflect on our Guru and the things that he does for us. Often things or people that are close to us are taken for granted, simply because they are there. Someone or something will be greatly missed when they are no longer there.
The care, kind thoughts and altruistic love shown by Rinpoche for Connie are exemplary. She is presently faraway in USA and Rinpoche is reaching out to her to tell her that she is not alone. Connie is very grateful for all the love and care received.
I am indeed blessed and grateful that we have Rinpoche as our Guru here whom has and is guiding us through the years, shown us so much love and care, to become a better person. May Rinpoche have good health, long life and stay long and that Lama Tsongkhapa teachings be spread exponentially.
