CREATIVE, UNUSUAL AND VERY MEANINGFUL GIFT!!!
Bryan who is very talented and creative had this image of Sacred Lati Rinpoche engraved on a piece of Black stone flat stone that comes with a stand. It is around 8 inches in height. It came only after a few days after the passing of Kyabje Lati Rinpoche. I deeply appreciate the gift. Bryan, I thank you so much.
Pleased to share this post with everyone.
May Bryan, his partner, loved ones and friends always be protected by Lama Tsongkapa in this life and all future lives.

The note that came with the offering. I wish to share with everyone as Bryan is so sincere.
Creative and artistic picture of Bryan who has offered this wonderful gift to me. Bryan now volunteers regularly for Kechara Care Dept and he is a welcomed member of our Kechara spiritual family. Bryan is a hard worker, sincere, gets along with everyone and VERY VERY VERY VERY TALENTED!!!

With so many comments on Rinpoche’s I have commented this one is very unusual. The gift of engraved stone of Lati Rinpoche to Tsem Rinpoche from Bryan Ho. He is very talented asnd creative. He is not only creative in engraving but is also a very good makeup artist. I would not have thought of creating such a unique sort of gift for Rinpoche’ Most people will think of buying flowers, cakes and other ordinary items. But in Bryan’s case he doesn’t think about the just giving anything attitude. He gives with meani ng from the heart. He has given an image of Rinpoche’s Guru Lati Rinpoche, so that Rinpoche will always be reminded of Lati Rinpoche. So very meaningful with OM MANI PADME HUM engraved at the back of the engraved sto ne.
Gifts gave with a heart in it actually moves people. Gifts with a lot of thought in it actually moves people and it reflects ones sincerity in giving it. Rinpoche always does this and that is why Rinpoche can move everybody’s heart by sending gifts out of CARE.
I still remember Margaret told us on the another comments she made in this blog that her husband, Dave wasn’t expecting Rinpoche’s gift and was rather amazed that Rinpoche actually gave him some vitamins that Dave was looking for.
From here, i can relate this to our work. If we put enough care in the things that we are working on, we can actually produce better results just like what Rinpoche has achieved in Kechara!
Great Job Bryan! Rinpoche likes the effort you put in! Bravo!
This gift from Bryan Ho is indeed very beautiful and creative, this first time i saw it on this blog i was amazed the likeness of the carving of Lati Rinpoche. As this Black Stone carving came just right at the time when Lati Rinponche enter clear light i think it somehow cheers Tsem Rinpoche up and make his day abit brighter that day !
I have the good karma to get to know Bryan closer as we all volunteer most of the time in Kechara Care i find him very kind hearted and very friendly. He is also very easy to get along and are very true to his own character. I wish Bryan and Ethan can stay till the end with Kechara and go all the way. I wish them the best of everything in Dharma and in their life.
Bryan and Ethan i felt they have a very strong affinity with Dharma and with Rinpoche. One day they might be mature and ripe enough to be a Dharma teacher.
BRYAN! Your gift to Rinpoche is so very thoughtful, so full of sincerity. It is such a beautiful gift, the engraving is inch-perfect and having the mantra behind is such an ingenious addition to the overall stone. Like what Jean Mei said, defnitely a “sweet touch”. I can feel the sincerity, the warmth, the kindness, care and compassion both yourself and Ethan possess, and it is so fitting that you guys are volunteering in KC, under the guidance of Su Ming, who herself have amazing attributes. You guys bring so much to Kechara, your creativity and your talents, your chirpy and down-to-earth personalities. I am happy that you have found Dharma and that Dharma has found you; that you’ve found something to live for – for benefitting others. I’m sure everyone loves having you boys in and around Kechara, and without your presense around, you are much missed! I thank you for being the vehicle in bringing me to my first teaching with Rinpoche at KH1, and for being so accomodating, kind and nice to me. I can’t wait to see the “wanna-be girls” perform!! I’m sure it’ll definitely be worth welcoming you all to your first world-tour in KL.
A gift does not value by the price, it is from the heart, if we give something very expensive but not with sincere heart, it doesn’t carry any weight.
Brian is a very talented young guy, but he didn’t let his talent drag him down, to be attached, or become selfish, instead he is using his talent for dharma, it is only few months Brian and Ethan join Kechara, but now they are so devoted to dharma, whenever Su Ming needed help, they will be there. I seldom go to Ladrang, but every time when I go there either to collect thing or to meet someone, I’ll see them over there. it shows how strong their affinity towards Dharma.
What a nice thought. This is really a meaningful gift to Rinpoche. As mentioned before It’s is due to Lati Rinpoche requested Tsem Tulku Rinpoche to come over to Malaysia. Is due to Lati Rinpoche we have our Great Grand Master Guru in this region.
Bryan & Ethan both are so creative. They can always decorate things spontaneously. They are currently very active in helping gift section and Kechara Care. Both of them are very committed. I seldom hear them say no when we need them even though it’s at very last minutes. You can see that they like dharma very much.
I first saw the engraving when Rinpoche asked me to photograph it – even though his beloved guru had just entered clear light, the gift was precious enough to him to laughingly say that it would be BTTSF if I dropped and broke it. I was so touched by your creativity, and the thoughtfulness of the gift. It’s on my mind now every time I think of an offering to make to Rinpoche…seeee Bryan? Like Rinpoche says, sincerity goes a long way 🙂 what you thought was just a small gift has the potential to move many people.
Hahaha I remember the first time I saw you, Ethan and your friend at GSDP. My first thought was, “Are you guys lost?!” I hope you and Ethan are around to stay, and help Su Ming to make Kechara Care grow – I really love having you two around.
In relation to gifts, we often say that it is the thought that counts. This wonderful gift from Bryan is the epitome of thought one can put into a gift. Realizing that the most precious people in the world to Tsem Rinpoche are Rinpoche’s Gurus, Bryan painstakingly created this gift with love, sincerity and devotion that is unmistakably reflected in the lovely carved stone.
Bryan’s participation and contribution at Kechara Care is also a priceless gift because being in contribution is the giving of oneself to others. Very generous as well as courageous because, although it seems like a simple gesture on the surface, not everyone can do it!
Bryan is also part of the cast of Girls Just Wanna have Fun performing at the KWPC fundraising dinner on 18 July 2010. More information available on http://www.kechara.com
Lastly, I agree with Jean Mei, you can set a powerful example to your friends on the power of living all of who you are: trendy, hip, in-the-know, “in” as well as sensitive, thoughtful, caring and confident of who you are by the way you treat others.
Bryan Ho is such a sincere and talented young man. He chose to give Rinpoche a gift that has the most meaning: an engraved image of Lati Rinpoche. He seeks nothing from giving this gift but as a sincere offering to Rinpoche in the form of a memento of Rinpoche’s Guru.
Most of us tend to give gifts with an intention to want something back so this gift giving thing is actually something that is quite tricky, especially to offer something with full sincerity. I rejoice in Bryan’s sincerity and i pray that one day may i develop such sincerity in me as well.
Terima Kasih Rinpoche!
Sadhu! Such a great gift, most befitting of the time, when talent & awareness has been utilised to bring out the best, in this case an expression of Dharma.
In memorial of the great late Lati Rinpoche, through this gift, Bryan has reinforced the love and steadfastness on behalf of the Kechara family to request Rinpoche to stay on and continue his Buddha mission in Malaysia as well as benefiting countless sentient beings from here. Wonderful!
Thank you Bryan for your kindness and may the merit accrued from this Dharma offering procure limitless benefit and blessings!
Wow!! The stone engraved with sacred Lati Rinpoche is so so so beautiful!!!!
It definitely touches Rinpoche’s heart whom Lati Rinpoche has been very close to Rinpoche’s heart and instrumental in bringing Rinpoche to Malaysia. Thus, we in Kechara has a special connection with Lati Rinpoche and having the esteem privilege to have a great Lama, H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche here in Malaysia .
Meanwhile, Bryan and his partner Ethan, both are very creative and they are so appropriately being nurture by Su Ming. Both have been helping with the gifts section and Kechara Care very much for the past months. Their creativity whether from wrapping gifts to setting up of events, is always awesome and presentable. There were times I have come across that gift recipients were reluctant to even destroy the wrapping or decoration of their gifts. They just want it that way and loved it. Love and sincerity exudes through their creation.
Kudos to you Bryan!
What I noted was Bryan Ho first got in touch with Kechara through the Grand Setrap Puja event, he was then with Ethan Chu and also another friend. He has been very very devoted volunteer under Liaison Su Ming doing Kechara Care work, wrapping gifts, preparing gifts, preparing for events that Liaison Su Ming was in charge of.
He seems to be very perceptive to note that it is through the the kindness of Kyabjye Lati Rinpoche we all got to meet out guru. Hence he came out with this very creative looking stone table that he offered to Rinpoche on the passing of Lati Rinpoche. Bryan is also one of the cast of the fabulous ‘Wanna Be Girls’ for the Kechara fund raising dinner on the 18th July 2010 a spoof of the Korean hit girl band Wonder Girls.
Our kechara is really full of sincere and loving people. Bryan is yet another example. Being so new in the Dharma, he has consistently volunteered in Kechara Care department under the loving care of Liaison Chuan Su Ming. His thoughtful gift to Tsem Rinpoche is remarkable. I read the note that Bryan wrote, it is true that we wouldn’t be in such good fortune today if it wasn’t due to the kindness of Lati Rinpoche, one of our Rinpoche’s gurus, who requested Rinpoche to come to Malaysia to teach Dharma. What Tsem Rinpoche wanted to do was to stay in Gaden and to do retreat, he had no intention to travel anywhere. However, Rinpoche followed Lati’s Rinpoche’s instruction, just took a suitcase and there he is with us today in Kechara. Talking about Guru devotion, Rinpoche is the perfect example for us students to follow suit. By following Lati Rinpoche’s instruction, we can easily see the crystal clear results, the impact and benefits Tsem Rinpoche brings to Malaysia and his students is immersurable.
I think this engraved stone image of Lati Rinpoche is such a thoughtful gift to offer Rinpoche. Lati Rinpoche has always been very close to Rinpoche’s heart as he was one of Rinpoche’s main guru in Gaden monastery. He was instrumental in bringing Rinpoche to Malaysia when he requested Rinpoche to travel abroad to raise funds to build a monk quarters in Pukhang Kamtsen, the sorority house that Rinpoche belonged to in Gaden, to house the refugee monks who escaped from Tibet. Therefore, this stone image has special meaning and I am sure it probably would have brought back many warm memories in Rinpoche of the good times he spent with Lati Rinpoche in Gaden. We Malaysian have a special connection with Lati Rinpoche as it was due to his instruction to Rinpoche that Malaysia has the privilege and honour to host a great Lama such as H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche.
Bryan your gift to Rinpoche clearly comes from your heart, it was really thoughtful for you to engrave Lati Rinpoche’s image (which became really touching after hearing the news that he has entered clear light) on a black stone with the words Om Mani Padme Hum at the back (sweet touch!). You used your creative and artistic streak to give Tsem Tulku Rinpoche such a nice present 🙂
It’s inspiring that you came into Kechara House with the enthusiasm that you have shown thus far and I always see a smile on your face in everything that you do! You are an example of how people can use their samsaric skills to help spread the Dharma through practice. I hope that you inspire more of your friends and other people by being who you are, especially with Ethan (chuchu :P) by your side!
你的照片很帅啊!!
THANKS RINPOCHE, it’s fortunate to meet a guru like you. May you long life and may i have the merits to receive more Dharma from you !
Kechara is special, because all the Kechara members are warm, and they care !
A very thoughtful and meaningful gift indeed! It’s lovely that people who are relatively new, who have only met Rinpoche and Kechara for a few months, are already getting so involved in Kechara’s activities. Kechara Care is an important part of our organisation and led so ably by Tsem Ladrang Liaison Su Ming, who is nurturing many.
Very nice!
