They are so cute and thoughtful, it’s a very nice thing to see people giving Rinpoche gifts, because it shows that they are grateful and they do appreciate. And even these little kids are doing it. I came to know Angelina and Kimberly few years ago, they are super sweet little girls! Their parents have taught them well.
Thank You for sharing Rinpoche.
Love, beatrix.
Reading this is very heart warming. It is always good to start our children young with the act of giving. Children nowadays are so spoilt by their parents due to the lack of responsibility.
This in turn is due to the lack of knowledge by parents thinking they should provide the best for their children in terms of monetary value. But this is certainly not the way to go. This will only create a monster out of the child as they will slowly turn to become a selfish person to say the least as they have been taking, taking and taking all their lives.
Hence it is very good to start the kids from young with the act of giving. This will cultivate a sense of responsibility and care in the children and they will grow up to be better people.
Manjushri Kids Class is certainly doing a great job teaching the kids about the benefits of generosity and making offerings to the Lama. MKC started out as a pet project by Ashlee Tam and Alex Tan about 2 years ago but class attendance has grown so much since then.
As the parents learn about the benefit of Dharma, they bring their children for MKC. And for some, it is the other way around, the kids convince their parents of the power of Dharma – by being better, well-behaved, responsible young members of society.
Whenever I step into MKC, I am struck by the powerful dharmic imprints that some of the students have. Where else can you find young boys like Pavara and Jutika who aspire to be Rinpoche’s Liaisons when they grow up? Or young girls like Rachel Tan, who completed more than 100 recitations of the Lamrim chapters during our recent Lamrim retreat?
Kechara House has the incredible opportunity to open up these karmic potentials in our children at such an early age, giving them a fair chance to be responsible, contributing valued members of society in the future. If that is not a blessing, then what is.
The children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way, show them what they poccess inside…..” sung by Whitney Houston. Yes, Children are our future and if they can receive Dharma at an early age, all the better for their benefits. Kechara House offers Manjushri Kids Class every Sunday at Kechara House 2, kids learn the basic principle in Buddhism, cultivating the little Buddha within themselves. I guess everybody knows that our Rinpoche loves giving gifts. Rinpoche will spend hours shopping for suitable gifts for everyone. And on top of that, these gifts are personally blessed by Rinpoche before he gives them out to his liaisons who will then pass over to the lucky recipients. Many a times, Rinpoche will even write a special personal message on a card to go along with the gift. Rinpoche’s attention to details and care are immaculate. You never know that the little Dharma seed that is planted in these young childrens’ mind may grow and blossom into something big and beneficial.
I agree with David fully . Start ‘em young baby and they will be impressionable babies of Dharma; their great human potential will be realised. How skillful Rinpoche is. He knows exactly how kids and adults ticks and how to push their buttons to make them tick to become meaningful individuals. Kids being nurtured and educated in Manjushri Kid Class will be potentially be the younger generation to practise and uphold the dharma for the future generation. Hence it is important to enroll more children in Manjushri Kid Class. For enrollment and more information on kids education and arts classes please visit http://www.kechara.com
For the preservation of the Dharma, the next generation of practitioners needs to be nurtured. This is especially crucial for a huge institution like KWPC. Hence, Manjushri Kids Class plays a very important for doing this. The Dharma is being disseminated now through such classes and also by their parents very supporting role in showing a great example of being active in the Dharma. The kids are very bright these days and can pick it up that the parents are dedicated to the Dharma or not and they will follow the example set forth.
Hence, Rinpoche has been giving gifts to children of many of Rinpoche’s students and friends. How I know? I have followed Rinpoche on many shopping expeditions and Rinpoche would spend literally thousands on toys and gifts for children. Rinpoche believes that these toys and gifts given will open their heart so Dharma can be imparted into these impressionable kids. I feel fortunate to have been able to witness how Rinpoche spreads the Dharma and plants seed in kids so that when they grow up and if they don’t practice the Dharma, they will have a good impression of it.
Terima Kasih Rinpoche!
It’s always so refreshing to look at the next generation and how they will be the cause of a greater and decisive future leaders of Kechara and with their wonderful parents who have groomed them according to Rinpoche’s teachings and Kechara’s navigation, it would be so wonderful to see them in action by the time they are ready.
Rinpoche is always so detailed and attentive…sadhu!
We returned from an Animal Liberation on a Sunday and joined KSA thereafter. Su Ming came with loads of gifts from Tsem Rinpoche for the children attending Art and Crafts activity on that day. I was informed that Tsem Rinpoche took the time to go through the list of children’s name and personally selected the gifts for them.
Nicholas likes Star Wars and The Muppet show, so he received toys similar to that. In return to repay the kindness of our Lama, we went out to get gifts for Rinpoche after talking to Chia, especially on what kind of videos Tsem Rinpoche would like. He recommended science fiction, gods, ghost stories or comedies and Madonna. I personally view the act of giving gifts to our Lama is an offering and for us to practice generosity like he had done. Thank you, Rinpoche for giving us the opportunity to do this practice and make the offering to you.
