What a great wish!
Dear friends around the world,
For the last few decades I’ve received so many cards, letters, gifts, requests and offerings. I am truly grateful to everyone for all they have presented me. Each offering I will offer it up on my shrine to the Buddhas so the gift giver will truly collect merits. Each gift, letter and card is special so they must be offered up to the Buddhas.
Today I was so flabbergasted by one of the greatest cards and wishes ever! Most of the time people will be asking for prayers to find a job, a partner, money, safe trip, kids, or protection or what not. Which is fine. I take time to offer prayers for them. But what is special today is that someone made a gift offering to me and requested that they can be blessed to learn Dharma even better and then TEACH dharma to others to bring the lineage of Lord Tsongkapa and Dorje Shugden to many others! Wow! Someone actually makes aspirational prayers to be good teachers of Dharma so they can bring Dharma to others! That is fantastic! Rarely does someone ask for this or wishes for this because teaching entails much preparation, practice, learning and skillfully speaking to others. No easy feat! But Lew and his wife Wei Theng are wishing for this. This really touches me deeply. Please learn up more dharma and start to teach simple classes and then advance. I would love for Kechara to produce more Dharma teachers especially those who teach with conviction arising from practicing the teachings. This is my highest goal to create Dharma teachers who can share knowledge with everyone who requests around the world. Dharma relieves sufferings when we incorporate into our lives sincerely. If the sufferings of others reduce, this truly makes me happy. This is such a supreme gift to give others.
I must say this was one of the greatest messages and wishes I have ever received in a card. I really appreciate it. I have to share it here.
Thank you.
Tsem Rinpoche

Wisdom is the supreme antidote to all our sufferings in this cyclic existence. When we are ignorance, we harbor our own wrong views or delusion and perpetuate negative actions that cause harm to self and others. It is never ending. The aspiration made by Wei Theng and Lew is both remarkable and inspiring. I rejoice. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing.
It is a special gift and comes with so much love and compassion. So glad that husband and wife have same aspiration to work and spread the dharma.
The most supreme giving in the entire universe is the giving of dharma.
Wow. Good for Lew and his wife. We are lucky to have people like them who have changed for the better. 🙂
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing with us such noble aspiration of your dedicated students Lew and his lovely wife Wei Theng to spread the genuine path of dharma to help others towards the correct path.
May they be blessed with success and free from obstacles with such selfless motivation .
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this inspiring post. This is a good example for us to learn because both hausband and wife are so committed to their Dharma practice and give up so much for their spiritual growth that’s I would said not easy for a lot of people I wish their inspiration can inspire more people to come to Dharma so that our world can become a better place to live.
Wow what a beautiful special gift! Rejoice in their great wish and may we all have such great wishes too! It is indeed a very precious gift/wish. We often make wishes for our self-cherishing “self” and not really in this level.
Mr. Lew has definitely come a long long way and it lovely to see his faith and conviction in dharma grow ever so strong. I remembered meeting him when he first started freelancing with us and helping us back in the days when we were in TTDI ladrang. He was quite a skeptic and was checking us out, and wasn’t even sure if he wanted to join us full time. Now not only is he in Dharma full time, he has inspire his wife Wei Theng and even his kids are in Dharma. This is how Dharma is suppose to impact and affect us positively and expand to our loved ones. Now Lew and Wei Theng wishes for the greatest wish anyone can wish for to teach Dharma and spread our lineage. Admirable and thank you for inspiration 🙂
Very cool the end of butter lamps who will pay for the electicity. So cool is it lithium based technology
Thank you with folded hands, Rinpoche, for sharing this beautiful aspiration from this wonderful Dharma couple. May many like me too be blessed with the light to teach the Dharma more effectively to help Rinpoche spread the teachings of Je Tsongkhapa and Dorje Shugden, be it through the blogchat, social media, Dharma classes or even Dharma sharing with friends and family.
Thank you, Lew and Wei Theng, for being such a great role model to clowns like me. 🙂
Here’s to growth of Kechara’s Dharma Teachers, in quantity and quality!
Dear Rinpoche,
This surely brings happiness and joy to many. Yes, I agreed that being a Dharma teacher is not an easy feat as they have to be ‘doubled’ in everything than others. Double the time taken to study, double their knowledge so that they can teach or disseminate Dharma, double their patience (this is hard!) and double many others things. Further Wei Theng and Lew are working in Dharma, they have given everything that they have and now they give even more. (Oh my gawwd! ). It’s hard to find students like that.
Further, when one aspires to teach, one also open up the causes of happiness for many sentient beings. It’s very important to have someone who uphold the lineage, the unbroken and pure lineage. I am also very happy for both of them.
Thank you Rinpoche.
(P/S- Thanks a lot to you, Wei Theng. You always help to put useful links/pictures/quotes during the blogchat. It helps others (and me too) to connect more with Rinpoche’s teachings with the topic being discussed.)
A truly wonderful gift and aspiration. What better than to offer the ‘noble’ truth to all mother sentient beings that far exceeds any money can buy.
Lovely to see this. Such simplicity but filled with so much sincerity. I’ve known Lew since I first joined Kechara and worked at E-division, in 2011. Lew has grown to be a person with a beautiful, caring heart, and works tirelessly in E-division to ensure that all internet related aspects of Kechara organisation and this blog works well. I believe it is because of his transformation, that has led to his beautiful wife, Wei Theng, to also join Kechara full time a few years back. Through his growth, changes, kindness and sincerity, he has brought his entire family into the Dharma; his kids go to Sunday Dharma class at Kechara and his wife works fulltime to spread the teachings of Lama Tsongkhapa to many. What a lovely gift he has given to his family that will benefit them throughout their lives.
I fully agree with you Carmen, that it is the greatest gift that a husband and father has given to his family, by giving and bring them to Dharma. Dharma practice should start first to the people that is nearest to us, eg, spouse, friends, parents, brothers, sisters and etc. Lew is also one of that i notice the changes in him when he joins Kechara. Thank you Lew for this teachings.
Lucky people I deeply rejoice in their wish wich is also mine may the Holy Dharma of Lama Tzong kKhapa spread in the ten directiond and eliminate the sufferings of all sentient beings.Champa togme italy
