Today the liaison’s council of Kh have another important meeting at the ladrang. There are twenty one of them, but two have left this morning out of country for some important work for kh. So the remaining 19 will carry on.
Thank you,

The Liasons council in Kechara House is the only Dharma centre in Malaysia who follows exactly the same system of formation of their Monastery. We follow exactly what Ganden Monastery is doing. Each Liason member has to be sworn in. And there are 20 of them to help Rinpoche to operate with the 13 departments in Kechara Organisation. The Liasons are usually the Head of each department and they represent their own departments. The departments are Kechara House, Kechara In Motion, Kechara Discovery, Kechara Saraswati Arts, Kechara Care, Kechara Media Publications, Ladrang, Kechara Paradise Outlets, Kechara Animal Sanctuary, Kechara Lounge, Kechara Oasis, Kechara Soup Kitchen and KWPC. Meetings takes a whole day so Ladrang will prepare food for them. With such a big organisation like Kechara we also need a big group of Liasons.
The liaisons of HH Tsem Tulku Rinpoche are very special people. They don’t go parading around with a title like it is a kind of official decoration, or even an achievement. They take it as a responsibility towards Rinpoche, towards the Dharma and towards all sentient beings, yes indeed, that is so: towards all sentient beings.
I have always wondered where they find such energy to coop with the port-folios they have, yet nurturing new people and still be kind without a hint of arrogance. And I think this is why: they are working for the sake of all sentient beings, they are set to save the world, that is where the energy comes from: out of a genuine concern for others.
I wish that I can become a liaison one day and develop levels of compassion and wisdom that I have only nominally conceived to this day. I wish for this so that I can help the people I love, my family and my friends, but also those people that I have allowed to hurt me and all those that are nowhere in my field of care right now.
What better way to go about this than to assist Tsem Tulku Rinpoche?
Being a Liaison entails a lot of responsibility and work as they need to make the Dharma grow and i do have tremendous respect for all the Liaisons in Kechara because i know what they have been through. They work very hard for the Dharma, putting in tooth and nail into meeting Rinpoche’s goals and also taking care of so many people and departments at the same time. They often have to forgo sleep just to meet up with deadlines and with the meetings. And they willingly go through all these just so that Kechara can grow and benefit more people.
it is by no means something that can be done by a normal person. It takes a lot of determination and mental stability to be a liaison and do all the work without mistakes..and sincerity too.
I do aspire to be a liaison one day once i get my act right! which is soon haha.
Rinpoche introduced this liaison system in Kechara. It is in line with the changtso system in Gaden where Rinpoche is from. Changtsos are managers appointed by the monk council to handle/run certain departments for example education, kitchen, administration, etc. Here in Kechara, the earlier liaisons were appointed by Rinpoche himself (how else then?) and henceforth it is the liaison council that picks and nurture a potential liaison and later present to Rinpoche for his blessings. I am a part of this earlier part of liaison. I share the honour with my cousin Henry as Liaison of Outlet and later had the honour of adding another portfolio, that is, Liaison of Kechara Soup Kitchen. I simply looooooove my “job” and i wake up every morning feeling so blessed and excited to start my day knowing i am doing something right finally with my life!
Speaking of group karma…we both need the merits to do KWPC, and we need the merits that KWPC will generate.
Rinpoche hasn’t just said that group karma is powerful but that we NEED to build KWPC. By that, I mean Rinpoche himself built plenty of KWPC-like institutions in his previous lives so he’s got the merit to build one now, whether in Malaysia or not, in this lifetime or not. On the other hand, for us (you know, the unenlightened ones!), if we miss the boat on KWPC, who knows when we will next get the chance to leave a legacy like this. In this way, we need the merits that KWPC will generate.
But we also need to generate merit as a group, and that is the reason why we also continue to do pujas for KWPC ( http://www.kechara.com/?p=8886 ), to make sure WE have the merits needed to stay with this vision of Rinpoche’s.
The picture here depicts the swearing in ceremony of there Liaisons. What happens is that each Liaisons undertakes to dedicate their lives to the spreading of Dharma and Tsongkhapa’s teachings, and this is done in front of the consecrated image of Setrap in Kechara House.
The ceremony may sound simple, but when I had mine, i felt moved to the core of my being, and the promise that I made to Setrap was REAL and BINDING. And when you have the 20 other Liaisons standing beside you renewing their vows at the same time, the energy of the group is simply amazing.
Like Rinpoche always says, group karma is powerful. And perhaps we have met again in this life due to our collective karma and prayers of our previous lives, to create a legacy for future generations.
And what a sacred, special place this is to be! Thank you Rinpoche for making it possible for us to be liaisons and work for the Dharma in such a special, active, direct way. It is a real honour to be here. I don’t think any other “job” on the outside – no matter how much it “pays” – would be as beneficial, fulfilling or exciting as this.
