NTV7 Chinese Golden Awards 2012
On (22/09/2012), Malaysia’s local TV station NTV7 held their 2nd Chinese TV Golden Awards 2012 at Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC). The purpose of the awards show is to recognize the incredible work of those who contributed passionately to the film industry. 19 awards were given out at their very first Golden Awards last year. The show managed to garner a huge viewership, averaging a minimum of 724,000 Chinese speaking viewers.
This years’ event was even grander with a total of 22 awards presented. There were three categories namely ‘Drama’, ‘Non-drama’ and ‘Viewers’ Choice’. Under those 3, the awards given out included ‘Best Director’ and ‘Best Original Screenplay’.
Dato’ Ruby, as the executive director of The Paranormal Zone, and Li Kim (the celebrity host) were invited to the event as VVIPs by NTV7. Sharon Saw, the Communications Director of Kechara went along to support.

Perhaps , next year Kechara will be up there on the stage to receive awards?
Hoozah! Our very own celebrities look really quite at home there among all the stars (dare I say I think them the most beautiful of the lot!).
Here’s looking forward to many more star-studded moments with our own homegrown celebs!
Dato’ Ruby and Li Kim looked stunning at the awards. I’m sure a lot of people wondered who they were – especially as they had front row seats! It was a great experience though, like Li Kim and Dato’ Ruby, i was linguistically challenged and did not understand much about what was going on. Overall, it was good exposure to the local entertainment scene!
It was interesting evening… Although most of the time I did not understand fully what was said, as it was in Mandarin, I did experience what viewers are looking for in a celebrity. Gave me tips on how to improve myself…
Yes, Li Kim. It was an eye opener for us. I barely understood 10% of what they were saying but by their actions we did learn a thing or two about this industry. Interesting though.
This is all very interesting… Its nice to see our celebrity liaisons going out to meet people and subtly expose people to Kechara. That’s always a nice way for Dharma to spread on this level. May these Kechara stars shine brighter inspiring many more people to come to Kechara and the Dharma.
