I Love Nature!
I have always had a huge attraction to the mountains. A draw to the mountains that was very deep and unexplainable. I always wanted to have a small house/ large cave in the mountains with a beautiful altar and I can live there. Seeing trees, mountains, fresh water bodies, lakes, springs, waterfalls bring great comfort and familiarity in my mind.

First of all, we are part of nature, and arose out of it. I too love to admire and enjoy the nature and the beauty all around, all we need is responsiblity to care the nature in whatever small way that we can.
I do feel that Rinpoche has given greatest treasures to the nature earth beauty. There is a sense of awe in nature that makes me feel connected to all we miraculously happen to be apart of. We are fortunate Rinpoche have chosen this wonderful place . Set in the midst of a lush tropical forest which is a perfect getaway and reconnect to nature.
Thank you for the sharing and do hope all your dreams will become reality.

Tsem Rinpoche at Kechara Forest Retreat, Bentong, Malaysia
When we connect ourselves to nature, it gives us a very calm feeling and when we breathe in the cold and refreshing air its just clear our mind. We are fortunate that Rinpoche has created Kechara Forest Retreat where we can have a place to be so close to nature and able to to retreat in such a nice and convenient place.
When we look deep into nature, we will understand everything much better and appreciate everything that is nature. And when we walk with nature we receives far more than we seeks. Those who find beauty in all of nature will find themselves at one with the secrets of life itself. Time spent amongst trees and spent some time looking around nature is wonderful and is never wasted time. The quietness in the forest and with natural surrounding is simply amazing . I loved it too .
Kechara Forest Retreat is one such place loved by Rinpoche. Where it is away from the busy hectic life ,having everything in nature. We are fortunate Rinpoche have chosen this wonderful place . Set in the midst of a lush tropical forest which is a perfect getaway and reconnect to nature.
Quoted…..The most beautiful gift of nature is that it gives one pleasure to look around and try to comprehend what we see by Albert Einstein. Well said.
Thank you Rinpoche.
This is how Rinpoche has conceptualised Kechara Forest Retreat(http://retreat.kechara.com/)! Kechara Forest Retreat or KFR is a very a beautiful place to hang out at. It is about an hour drive away from the Kuala Lumpur. At KFR, you will feel so relaxed. The breeze and view that you will have is out of your imagination. A scene that you will never imagine to find at Southeast Asia.
This is a very nice place, I wonder where this is. I used to be a typical city gal which doesn’t appreciate nature as much as I should. I always felt that creepy crawlies/insects are icky! But I am slowly getting more comfortable with them because they are part of nature and there are bound to be more when KFR is up!
When KFR is done, Rinpoche can be among nature as well! hehe
Thank you for sharing, Rinpoche!
i know that Rinpoche has always loved the mountains and always wanted to go into retreat. This has been with Rinpoche since Rinpoche was a child. Having gone to Turkey Swamp (http://blog.tsemtulku.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/me/avalokiteshvara-turkey-swamp-marc-me.html) where Rinpoche used to go and meditate as a child, i can understand how strong this desire is. Even KFR will not really provide this for Rinpoche but Rinpoche will tolerate it because of Rinpoche’s kindness to all those who will come to KFR. We are very fortunate to have someone as compassionate as Rinpoche here with us.
I think Rinpoche’s inclination to nature may be from previous lives as Rinpoche’s past lives have been around nature a lot. Hehehe 😀
I wish I could live in the mountains too. I love places that are cooling, unlike the tropical heat.
Dear Tsem Rinpoche,
May Rinpoche dream to have a small house or large cave in the mountains with a beautiful altar come true very soon.
Regards,
Venix
The mountains, trees and nature plays a very important role in meditation and tantric practices. I came to know this recently and realise why Rinpoche wishes these. It has a deeper meaning than what it appears to be. According to Rinpoche, when one engage in retreats, it’s important to have an open space so that the wind channels do not get trapped which can cause problems especially in tantric practices. I thought this was interesting to know, but more so the real reason for wanting to be in nature setting.
I love nature too especially green mountains. 🙂
Rinpoche’s dream of living in the mountains is going to be a reality soon with the completion of Kechara Forest Retreat. As it is, Rinpoche is already up in the mountain and staying there to oversee the progress of Kechara Village.
Mountains at Kechara Forest Retreat (KFR) might be different from the picture above. To be at mountains or in nature is still so nice. Rinpoche is now in KFR to energise and inspire all to work for KFR, I am so happy to be able to help every week up at KFR or spread the news about KFR, its progress and so on. I must have accumulated so much good merits to have me the opportunity to be here in Malaysia, in Kechara, at this time. Thank you Rinpoche.
When I am in nature,I find my true identity. There is nothing as exquiste to me as the mountains, the wind, the sounds of the birds, and the sounds of a waterfall. When I go to the mountains, I understand what being human is.Nature brings so many questions but it also gives many answers!!
I have similar attraction to the mountains and trees like Rinpoche compared to the ocean and the deep blue sea. One day while sitting through a conversation with Rinpoche. He ask me. Have you told your children what you would like for your burial when you die? I told Rinpoche I love the mountains and forests. Even when I am alive I love the tranquility of the forest and the quietness of the mountains. So when I die I would like my body to be cremated and the ashes to be strewn over the mountains and forests. He said how are we going to do that? I said hire a helicoptor. Most people will like their ashes to be thrown into the sea. But I want mine to be different.
The image of the scenery is just simply exquisite. I love nature too. Some people might call me a tree hugger but if they really take a great, big and clear look at nature, they will see a beautiful masterpiece of art work! A draw to the beautiful mountains are really deep and they just simply cannot be explained. I never been to any mountain but I loved the pictures of the great majestic mountains. They are immovable giants. That is what everyone wants to be, to be as immovable as a mountain. Seeing the trees, feeling the breeze, etc. will bring me really great comfort. The mountains I really want to see would be in the great mountain range of the world with the tallest mountains, the great Himalayas!
I have been wondering why Rinpoche expressed so many times his attraction to the mountains and all the landscapes typical of higher grounds…
What is the familiarity that Rinpoche is talking about when refering to the mountains?
Upon reading through his lineage and his genealogic background, it is clear that mountains, caves and high altitude monasteries is a common feature. We need just check for images of the landscapes of Mongolia and Tibet!
I must say myself that the idea of living up in the mountain, in a small dwelling place, together with an altar sounds very appealing, very peaceful.
Yeah he has…and it’s also a reason why KWPC is up in the hills. Actually, the land for KWPC is quite similar as well, isn’t it? It’s got mountains and hills and trees, and streams were also discovered on the land. Uncle Ngeow said that the streams made the investigative drilling work difficult, because it made the ground boggy and swampy hehehehe
The mountainous KWPC land is actually surrounded by forest and more forest. When it was surveyed, it was found that the land itself is actually in the shape of a tooth. What’s interesting about that is the “Tsem” in Rinpoche’s name, whilst referring to the monastery of Rinpoche’s previous incarnation, actually means ‘tooth’ in Tibetan!
Rinpoche has said this many times in both his private and public teachings – that he longs to be in a mountainous environment, secluded and alone, to do extensive retreat and contemplation on his Yidams.
In fact, Rinpoche’s previous incarnation built a monastery and taught in Phari in Tibet, where the landscape is very similar. Perhaps this liking for mountains and lakes is linked to the imprints from the past?
What inspires me is that Rinpoche has fulfilled the advice given by his Guru, the late Kensur Lati Rinpoche, which was to come to Malaysia and teach, and along the way, giving up his own personal wishes to enter into retreat willingly and without complaint. An example to be followed.
