Father spends quality time with his son
At Kechara Forest Retreat in Bentong, Malaysia we are growing organic vegetables free of pesticides and chemicals. I hope to grow them in large amounts so that we can partly sustain our food consumption in the near future.
The father and son team of Chon Kong and Liang Jing are working and cultivating the vegetables, taking care of the plants and harvesting them. Today they had harvested long beans and corn, so we will have fresh long beans and corn!
What a wonderful way to be together. I like seeing father and son doing something positive together like gardening in the fresh air and sunshine. It’s good bonding and will make good memories for the son when he grows up. It’s better to get our kids off gadgets, computers and smart phones and do something in the outdoors.
Malaysia has 12 months of warm tropical weather, with no winters at all. There’s plenty of rainfall throughout the year, making it ideal for us to grow a large variety of vegetables all year round.
Besides the long beans and corn, Chon Kong and Liang Jing are also growing four-angled beans and carrots in our organic garden.
Thank you Chon Kong and Liang Jing for your smiles, hard work and delicious vegetables.
