The Putuo Zongcheng Temple of Chengde, Hebei province, China is a Qing dynasty era Buddhist temple complex built between 1767 and 1771, during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor (1735–1796). It is meant to resemble the Potala Palace of Lhasa, Tibet. It is located near the Chengde Mountain Resort, which is south of the Putuo Zongcheng along with the equally famed Puning Templ. It is one of the Eight Outer Temples of Chengde. The Potala Palace of Lhasa represents the divine abode of Avalokitesvara.
This beautiful Putuo Zongcheng Temple is open to visitors and absolutely beautiful. If you are in China, it is a definite place to visit.

Putuo Zongcheng Temple is one of the must-seeing attraction in Chengde, which looks like little Potala. It looks like a pearl in the mountain situated on the north part of Chengde Mountain Resort and was built in 1771 during Emperor Qianglong in Qing Dynasty. The temple, originally built to celebrate Qianlong’s 60th birthday, was used for Buddhist ceremonies. Wow amazing ..….the temple blends Han and Tibetan architectural styles, featuring about 60 elegant buildings, including halls and pavilions with copper and gold gilded roofs constructed along the natural hillock. It seem that most of the buildings having blended with multi-coloured tiles. I do hope to visit this beautiful temple one day. It would be very beautiful to have a look then.
